The X-Men are split between two major threats. Bastion is still pushing his Prime Sentinel agenda, while Magneto, traumatized by Genosha and betrayed by humanity, takes matters into his own hands by shutting down the world's technology with a massive electromagnetic attack. The team divides into classic Blue Team and Gold Team style missions: one group goes after Bastion, while the other heads to Asteroid M to confront Magneto!

Magneto's attack on Earth sets off an extinction event, splitting the X-Men and introducing a Civil War within the team.

Well, we don't want more Rulla and definitely no more Brian but we work through those issues in this episode.
