Dr. Luke introduced the book of Acts by saying he intended to record what Jesus taught AND DID. The implication is clear: Jesus did more than teach; He validated His teaching with signs and wonders. When John the Baptist’s disciples came to Jesus to inquire if He was truly the Messiah, Jesus responded by referring to the miracles that marked His ministry. Again, not what Jesus said or taught, but what He DID. If 1 Cor. 4:20 is true, that the kingdom of God is not in talk (word), but in power, then it should be normative to expect the supernatural among us. This Sunday, after talking about how to hear from God, and how to give a word from the Lord to another person, we are actually going to do it! Get ready for a lab experience as we partner with the precious and powerful Holy Spirit.

“Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV) HA-LAY-LUJAH I recall a time when my former roommate and I could turn a funny story into a spiritual message.  Once, I swiftly darted down two flights of stairs to help unload the groceries from the car. It seemed doable; it seemed bearable because I had done it many times before. I grabbed 6 bags in one hand and 6 bags in the other. At the time the bags didn’t seem heavy at all. As I began to walk back up the two flights of stairs I noticed I had the milk, the water, and just about every canned good you could imagine. It’s amazing how weighty something becomes after you've carried it for a while. Why did I grab so many? I figured that if I could grab as much as possible in one trip, I wouldn’t have to go up and down those stairs so many times. I wouldn’t dare admit that I thought I was superwoman! I was carrying so much weight that it messed up my walk. I was breathing heavily so it affected my talk, and what should have taken 1-2 minutes turned into 5-10. The heaviness completely slowed me down. During my struggle to make it up the stairs, I looked up and saw my roommate with that umph umph umph look on her face; you know the one we receive when we know we shouldn’t be doing something and get caught. I immediately knew I was about to get fussed at but instead she reached out her hand to grab a few of the bags and asked, “Why are you carrying so much, I could have helped you?” I didn’t even argue with her statement, I happily handed over 6 of those bags! Despite MY thinking, I was not superwoman! As I sat down to take a break from the extreme fatigue, I could only think about Jesus and how He must feel when we try to do it all on our own. We read the scripture found in Matthew 11:28 as He asks us to come unto Him if we are carrying heavy burdens, and promises to give us rest, but do we? We read in 1 Peter 5:7 where Jesus wants us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us, but do we? If we are honest with ourselves, sometimes Jesus is the last person we call on in times of trouble and great distress. I wonder how often does Jesus ask the question, “Why are you carrying so much, I could have helped you?” Thank God for roommates, friends, & family who see us in the midst of our struggle and assist us. But praise the Lord there is someone who sticks closer than our friends, family, or roommates: Jesus, our Savior! Jesus was willing to LAY down his life completely for us, and He Did! The word Hallelujah (Alleluia) is the Hebrew & Greek Word that means “Praise The Lord.” We can sometimes miss our shout because we are so heavy-laden! We must get to the point in our lives where we have our Ha-LAY-lujah moments! Just like Jesus was willing to LAY down his life for us, we must be willing to LAY down our weights at His feet! I know I’m not the only one who has thought I could be superwoman, carrying as much weight as I wanted; and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has proved that statement wrong! Let this mediation guide you in releasing all the baggage you need to place at Jesus' feet. There are times in our lives when we are struggling, hurting, in pain, or miserable but instead of LAYing it at the feet of Jesus, we harbor and hold on to it. Someone reading this message right now needs to join me in LAYing “it” at the feet of Jesus! I don’t know what your “it” is: maybe you are going through an ugly divorce, a sad breakup, loss of a loved one, financial woes, stress from working two jobs & trying to make ends meet, the feeling of being 40-single-and a misfit, the weariness of being married but still lonely, health rollercoasters, mistreatment at your workplace, isolation, anxiety, depression, and disconnection from your spiritual and biological family due to COVID-19...I don’t know what “it” is, but God knows! Whatever “it” is, God can take care of it for you if you LAY it at his feet today! Are you ready for your Hal-LAY-lujah moment? I sure am! Until next time my dears... If Christ did not rise from the dead, Pastor Yami echoes the apostle Paul, then our witness, our faith, and our very lives are meaningless and indeed, we Christians are to be pitied for believing a lie. However! The good news is, HE DID. The truth of our faith and of life itself is that Jesus Christ did die on the cross on Good Friday and rise from the dead on Sunday. If he hadn't, we have permission to live however we want; since he has, we must remember and LIVE THAT WAY. Be encouraged, as Martha was, to proclaim that he is the Christ, son of God, who is coming into the world, and that our whole being hangs on him.

Hello, hello. Let us sing a new song to the Lord, for He has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory AND because He has already won the victory, we will rebound from this. Let’s jump right into today’s real talk topic which is resiliency. How do we get to the point of resiliency? Well, we know that gratitude is connected to faith. Rick Warren stated that Faith unlocks the promises of God and it shows us the power of God and it turns dreams into reality, and it gives us the power to hold on in tough times. But faith doesn’t always take you out of the problem. Faith doesn’t eliminate suffering. Faith often takes you through the problem. Faith doesn’t always take away the pain. Faith gives you the ability to handle the pain. Faith doesn’t take you out of the storm. Faith calms you in the midst of the storm. Come on somebody. In other words… Sounds a lot like the actions of Resiliency…so if you ask me…resilience must be a byproduct of faith. Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, tragedy, or significant sources of stress — like serious health problems, financial or economic crises but when we look across our individual lives, we’ve all experienced adversity at one time or another. We’ve all had our share of twists and turns, ups and downs from everyday challenges. As believers, we know that God did not promise to keep suffering away from us. Jesus suffered so why would we be exempt. We are not, John 16:33 New International Version (NIV) 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” He did promise that we would not suffer, we would not get sick, we would not lose our jobs, we would not experience heartache. He DID promise that He would be our present help in the time of trouble. With trouble, change and challenge each one of us will respond differently. We just do, it’s a fact. Each one of us will bring to the table a unique flood of thoughts, strong emotions; fear, frustration, uncertainty because we process our situation differently. Yet we all generally adapt well over time to those life-changing situations and stressful situations — which is largely due in part to resilience. When I think resilience, I see it as a God-designed characteristic that points us directly to him. I know whatever the situation is that I’m currently faced with Jesus has already covered. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if we open up the bible..it has been addressed in there too. Resilience is all throughout the bible. Man and women of God leaping or bouncing back from a difficult experience.

Clark brought us a passionate message, all about the Gospel, what it means, and how it applies to us Christians.--Christ died for sinners- if you qualify, that's a good thing- He didn't try to save somebody, He DID save His people from their sins- You can't know that God in the person of His Son, died in your room, stead, and place in Calvary, unless you've trusted Him completely---Have you come to believe that the salvation of your soul and life is in Jesus Christ alone- Are you a follower of Jesus Christ alone---To listen to the complete sermon titled, -What Is It To Preach The Gospel--, please visit us at- gracegospelfellowship.org-sermons-Or check us out on SermonAudio-

Once again the media has taken a non-story and turned it into a scandal. Here's the short of it. Flynn as committed no crime. He was cleared by the FBI of any potential issues as it relates to his conversations with the Russian Ambassador. He DID, however, tell the Vice President that he had not discussions regarding Russian sanctions, a statement that was later proved to be false. So, Flynn is guilty (at worst) of lying to the Vice President, and that assumes it was, in fact, a lie and not merely a misstatement. I find it hard to believe the former national security advisor would intentionally lie to the Vice President especially considering he had done nothing wrong. Naturally, we don't know the whole story, but we do know this is, at worst, a minor controversy involving internal White House communications. It hasn't stopped the media from blowing this story up into a full-fledged frenzy. The Lord Jesus Christ before He went back to heaven promised His followers that He would return again. He didn't say WHEN, but He DID say how. The apostle Paul explains how that Christ will return from heaven and all those who have believed on Him down though the ages, both living and dead, will rise to meet Him in the air to be forever with Him in His heavenly home. The Bible calls it the 'blessed hope' - the Rapture! The exact time of the Lord's return is unknown, but it is certain! So, the question is this - are YOU ready?
