Dan Le Batard is our guest this week and it's about time the roles are reveresed. Tim Kurkjian has been a guest with The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz for years, consistently cracking up at their hijanks and looks like, with very little baseball exchanged in those interviews. We kept with that tradition and found time to chat about both of their humble beginnings as newspaper writers. We also discuss some of the best Looks Likes of all time and promote a very big crossover between both of their respective shows! In this episode of the Oral History of the Dan Le Batard Show, Dan, Stugotz, and Mike explore the COVID era of the show. What began with fear and anxiety as a global pandemic unfolded eventually turned into what the guys consider one of the most creative eras of the show. You'll hear from all three about how the show stayed afloat during an unprecedented time despite early struggles with technology and communication. They also explore how creativity could run free due to the lack of sports and the desire so many creatives had to find a platform to express their voices during the shutdown. That all comes out in this week's supercut, which features some of the funniest bits from this time with the likes of Adam McKay, hilariously troublesome interviews like the show's infamous chat with Action Bronson, and the show's icy relationship with Michael Doleac. Send us a textThe New York Giants remain at the center of NFL conversations, and this episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates* hosted by Drew and Rob dives into all the latest Giants news, rumors, and controversy. From Joe Schoen's comments on Shedeur Sanders to former Giants throwing shade at the organization, there's plenty to break down. Giants GM Joe Schoen recently spoke highly of Shedeur Sanders, praising his football IQ, work ethic, and the influence of his father, Deion Sanders. While the Giants aren't necessarily in the market for a quarterback this year, the evaluation process is in full swing, and Sanders' name will be one to watch leading up to the draft. Meanwhile, the Saquon Barkley conversation won't die down anytime soon. His mother, Tonya Johnson, didn't hold back when asked why her son is playing at such a high level now. Without explicitly naming names, she made it clear she believes the Giants held him back, taking a shot at how the organization handled his career. If that wasn't enough, Austin Ekeler also chimed in, calling out Schoen and the Giants on *The Dan Le Batard Show*, mocking their decision to move on from Barkley. He even took a direct shot at Schoen's past comments from *Hard Knocks*, pointing out how Barkley has proven to be worth every bit of the contract the Giants refused to give him. The drama continues with Xavier McKinney, who made it clear in a recent interview that he never felt the Giants truly wanted him back. The former Giants safety said he could sense the direction the team was going, and while he remained professional and focused, it was clear that he wasn't in the long-term plans. When asked about the number of players Schoen has let go, McKinney simply acknowledged that the Giants have their way of doing things and wished them the best. On a more positive note, Giants rookie safety Tyler Nubin is eager to make an impact. After dealing with an ankle injury, Nubin spoke about his personal growth, both as a player and a man, while adapting to the NFL. His mindset and leadership qualities could make him a key piece of the Giants' defense moving forward. The episode also explores the Giants' quarterback situation, with Victor Cruz suggesting Sam Darnold as the ideal stopgap QB while the team waits for a potential future franchise leader—possibly Arch Manning in 2026. The debate around Darnold's viability continues, but Cruz believes he's the right fit for the job. Finally, the discussion shifts to Dillon Gabriel and the ongoing debate about his height. At 5'10”, he faces similar challenges to past undersized QBs like Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson. While history shows that shorter quarterbacks can succeed, the question remains—can Gabriel do the same, or will his height be too much of an obstacle at the next level? With so many storylines swirling around the Giants, this episode covers all the latest Giants news and rumors, providing in-depth analysis on the biggest topics surrounding the team.#giants #nygiants #nflSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. Nasty Nate start the year off by predicting what he thinks will happen this year on the Dan Le Batard Show
This episode of the Oral History of the Dan Le Batard Show covers one of the most challenging, but creatively fulfilling times in our history. Dan, Stu, and the rest of the crew are putting together great shows with fun bits and becoming bonafide stars at ESPN. Racial and political tensions in the United States, such as Colin Kaepernick's national anthem protests and Donald Trump's presidential campaign, are just on the horizon, though, which leads to conflict between Dan and the executives in Bristol, with Mike Ryan inevitably getting caught in the middle. Would John Skipper's seal of approval be enough to quell these tensions, or would Dan's inability to “stick to sports” be too detrimental to overcome? Find out as Dan, Stu, and Mike reminisce about this period. And make sure to hang around for a great super cut featuring our interviews with Trump, the famous afilador conversation, and Stugotz's shameless restaurant reservations. Today's cast: Dan, Amin, Andrew Hawkins, Chris, Jeremy, Mike, Roy, and Tony. It's the final live show of the year, and it begins with the type of hella good expertise you've all grown to expect from the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz: people who did not watch Thursday Night Football breaking down Thursday Night Football. Should we launch a new show called "First Fake?" How should the Los Angeles Chargers feel after their comeback win? Is Sean Payton doing Bo Nix any favors? Then, Jeremy has a Stat of the Day on Jordan Love's production during Toyotathon, but how did he play during OTHER promotional deals? The crew sends him down a rabbit hole to find out. Plus, it's time to keep the main thing the main thing, Amin and Hawk share their thoughts on the internet's obsession with Travis Hunter's relationship, and Mike shares a theory after Luigi Mangioni's cinematic perp walk. Today's cast: Dan, Stugotz, Chris, Billy, Jessica, Lucy, and Mike. The Dan Le Batard Show has begun a Holiday Toy Drive as Tony camps out at the Flanigan's on Bird Road dressed as Cuban Santa waiting for fan donations. If you want to donate, can also drop off toys at Corner Coffee at The Elser Hotel. Help us help families this holiday season! The crew kicks off today's show by exploiting Papi without Dan's permission. Then, while everyone should be discussing Travis Hunter and his incredible play on the field during his Heisman Trophy winning season, people on the internet seem more concerned with his personal life. Why do people online believe they should be giving Hunter dating advice? That conversation brings Lucy back to her story from yesterday about Brianna Chickenfry, and, because we made the mistake of opening this can of worms, another song from Jeremy. Plus, Mike is unsurprisingly upset that Cam Ward finished as low as he did in the Heisman voting despite Dan being one of Ward's six (6) first place votes which leads to...you guessed it: another Jeremy Christmas song. Enough already. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
As the show becomes fully entrenched in the lineup at ESPN, it is heading towards the launching pad that is about to take it to new heights. Before we get there though, the gang continues to struggle with the show just not feeling right. As a last gasp effort to get Dan back in his comfort zone, Mike Ryan makes a call to ESPN executives to take the show off television for two weeks and move back to the smaller studio at The Clevelander. As Mike Ryan says himself, this may have been the move that saved the show. After the break, the show comes out flying what the gang considers to be the golden era of content. Around the time of the studio change, the show is moved into the mid-day slot on ESPN Radio, making it arguably the biggest thing in sports radio at the time. You'll hear from Dan, Stu, Mike, Chris Cote, Old Money Charlie and even former ESPN President, John Skipper, about the show making the transition from Fusion to ESPNU and afternoons to mid days. Then, in line with the golden era of content, get ready for what is far and away the best supercut so far. Here are just some of the highlights: Bob Einstein on Rob Gronkowski, Alan Thicke on Tomas Hertl, Norm Macdonald watching the Draft, We Are The Lobos, Corn Elder and perhaps the most egregious Stugotz mistake in show history. Despite LeBron James returning to Cleveland and Miami moving out of The Big 3 era, the show is reaching new heights. The show is being broadcast on Fusion Network from the brand new studios at The Clevelander, and it has never been more nationally relevant. Executives love the show, the ratings are great and it's even being sold in marketing packets and promoted across ESPN networks. Everything is going great, right? Not so fast. Even though the show is putting out some of the best content it ever has, something feels off to the entire crew and they can't quite put their finger on what it is. While all of this is happening, Charlie Hulme enters the pressure cooker to help improve the quality of the television product and quickly notices something isn't right. As the show searches for answers, the quality of content being produced does not drop and the show barrels towards being a giant. Yet, Mike and Stugotz feel like a critical juncture is looming and fear the end of the show could be near. Then, you will not want to miss this edition of the Supercut which includes some of the most famous stories in show history, the iconic Jesse Ventura interview featuring Pablo Torre dressed as an orca, a banger from Izzy Gutierrez and of the all-time Stugotz blunders in show history.
