Les raids iroquois se multipliaient, la survie de Ville-Marie ne tenait plus qu'à un fil. Deux ans plus tard, en novembre1653, une centaine de colons sont arrivés dans la colonie. L'historienne Catherine Ferland raconte comment la grande recrue a assuré l'avenir de Montréal.
