The Tyson/Paul fight has NOTHING on this battle! What starts as a peaceful day on the show, quickly turns into a dumpster fire as the guys take on each other over comments made by Tony Khan (AEW Owner) during a recent podcast regarding attendance at AEW All In 2023, which broke the record for largest attendance for a pro wrestling event in Europe...depending on who you ask to be fair. In a war of words, insults and assumptions, both Zip and Christian go to war over the words used and what they mean overall for the company and the business. Between insults and arguments, the guys also discuss James Gunn's Creature Commandos first 2 episodes, a more sinister Lex Luthor for Superman, a look at Superman from the silver age in Gunn's new film, Joker: Folie A Deux lands in John Water's top 10 of 2024, a new "Touch Enough" style show coming from the WWE (the name is stupid though), and a new poster for Danny Boyle's upcoming 28 Years Later.>>HAVE YOU VISITED OUR NEW WEBSITE??? As we'll see, it pointed forward to the cross - even if no one knew it at the time.Questions That We'll Answer:A) Why did Jesus tell Mary that His 'hour had not come?'B) In what way(s) did this miracle point forward to Calvary?C) How is John 2 a 'bookend' with John 19?

This month, movies have been gay to a variety of extremities with no shortage of themes of “suppression”. Well we're throwing suppression out the window as well as anything having anything to do with polite society because we're finally getting to a John Water's film. John Waters and his eccentric Baltimore circle of friends and freaks had been making movies for a handful of years already, but when he finally released his 1972 film “PINK FLAMINGOS” upon the public, it represented a distinct point in his career. It's a showcase of notorious Baltimore personalities that, quite frankly, seemed way more fun and accessible than those folks up in Andy Warhol's Factory. This movie stars Divine, Edith Massey, Mink Stole, David Lochary and Mary Vivian Pearce. John Water's philosophy of filth, as represented in Pink Flamingos, may be very unsettling at some points but you'll be laughing twice as much a you'll be wretching. It's a war of filth and the god of filth is Babs aka Divine. Can try hard haters, The Marbles, even hope to out-filth the Queen? If you're not a very political person and you're looking from some ideology then look no further than this movie. It's a Christmas Miracle! Like the best BBC shows we are back for a Christmas special. We talk some new releases with Avatar: The Way of Water and Violent Night before getting into our main event Christmas Evil (1980) otherwise known as You Better Watch Out, written and directed by Lewis Jackson and starring Brandon Maggart. The plot involves a very man who has suffered a childhood trauma whose obsession with Santa Clause leads him to go on a rampage, judging who has been naughty or who has been nice. It's another one to add to our depressing Christmas movies list, and John Water's favourite Christmas movie too! Follow us on: Twitter: @adjustyrtrack & Instagram: @betterfeelingfilms
Your Fright Fights team is back and slashing through the snow with some Christmas horror carnage. You better watch out, because Mike's pick, “The Children” (2008), braves the atrocities of family holidays, but the gang ultimately leaves it in the cold because there's no Christmas in sight. Tyler's pick shows promise with John Water's favorite killer Santa film, “Christmas Evil” (1980). But how will Saint Nick fare against Chris' pick, “Jack Frost” (1997)? The gang pulls out the slab, spreads Christmas fear, and fights for survival. But before the holiday showdown, your co-hosts catch up on some of their latest viewings that spawn its own battle with Halloween Ends (2022). As well as highlighting Hulu's “Hellraiser” (2022) reboot, Netflix's “Wednesday” (2022), Shudder's “Deadstream” (2022), and seeing if Damien Leone's “Terrifier 2” (2022) made Tyler terrified. Sharpen your candy canes, turn down the lights, and get ready to FRIGHT FIGHT!
Kamikaze gets his stocking stuffed while contemplating some of the myriad joys of John Water's later career as a multi-hyphenate filth elder. This week, we visit John Water's favorite Christmas movie: 1980's Christmas Evil. Poor Harry is doomed to a lifetime of fetishizing Christmas after seeing his mom and Santa doing the nasty under his childhood Christmas tree. Adult Harry just doesn't understand why everyone else doesn't have the same Santa-mindset, tallying up good and bad behavior until the big day. That's when Harry takes it upon himself to punish the bad guys. On this episode: uninformed psychoanalysis, Christmas-time interior decorating, romanticized pasts, an unreliable narrator, confused messaging about class solidarity, toys as weapons, forced philanthropy, and a little Christmas magic.

This episode we dip into a very unique genre with 80s cult classics. First up is Heathers, a truly inexplicable and enjoyably dark teen film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. Next up we have one of Lindsay's favorite, the John Water's film Hairspray. Enjoy!

This week Pastor Jeremy continues our study into the book of John. Looking at John 2:1-11, Pastor Jeremy breaks down the story of Jesus's first miracle, turning water into wine.
Thank you to Tim for being the John Water's aficionado on the final episode of this year's podcast! We hope you all enjoyed this last installment and this Season 3 of Tripping on Bricks! It's been a wild ride, and we're ready to come back strong next year.
Filmmaker John Waters has long been a fixture in San Francisco. After a very rough week, a conversation with him gives us a few moments of levity courtesy of his sometimes twisted worldview. The 76-year-old writer, director, and curator of bad taste has made a career of showing us the weirdest of human behavior. In films including "Pink Flamingo," "Mondo Trash," and "HairSpray" and books such as "CarSick" he's made us laugh or at the very least taken us briefly out of the day's reality. He's now written his first novel, "Liarmouth," which continues the John Water legacy.

Chris Baker talks with Emmy Winner Charlotte Robinson host of OUTTAKE VOICES™ about his new film “The Estate” a dark comedic thriller about real people doing despicable things. If you love movies like John Water's “Serial Mom” this must-see film delivers in the same guilty-pleasure vein. Written and starring Baker the film centers on the spoiled son and the newest wife (Eliza Coupe) of a billionaire patriarch (Eric Roberts) who plot to murder him forming a psychosexual bond with their brutally handsome hitman (Greg Finlay) as they kill in their quest for wealth and recognition. Baker also talks about when he was growing up all he ever wanted to do was to make movies and while he was an avid consumer he noticed the lack of films that reflected our LGBTQ community. When his director and producer asked what kind of film he wanted to do he remembered all the movies like “Cruel Intentions” and “Wild Things” and “Scream” and movies that had that balance of tone where things could be very funny but they could also kill people so Chris came back with the script for “The Estate”. The stellar cast also includes Heather Matarazzo, Rif Hutton, Alexander Billings, Kyle Rezzarday and Ezra Buzzington. The film is directed by James Kapner and produced by Rod Hamilton, Adam Makowka and Alixandra von Renner. We talked to Chris about his inspiration for writing “The Estate” and his spin on our LGBTQ issues. Chris Baker is a New York City native and Harvard graduate where he completed his thesis on the works of the New Queer Cinema auteur Todd Haynes. Baker first found success as a pop singer collecting millions of views on YouTube. He then studied with LA's best at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Groundlings and had bit parts on Shondaland's “The Catch” and the NBC series “Marry Me” before writing and starring in his 2017 Funny or Die web series “Baker Daily” where he plays an inept cable news anchor who inadvertently gets Trump impeached. “The Estate” is available on Hulu and most VOD streaming outlets.
