Rerun: Henry Winkler, an accomplished water-skier, had asked the producers of ‘Happy Days' if he could showcase his skills on the sitcom. On 20th September, 1977 his wish came true - in a shark-jumping sequence so absurd it would forever be linked with the irreversible artistic decline of long-running TV series. To ‘Jump the Shark' was a phrase coined some eight years later by college roommates Sean Connolly and Jon Hein, and has since inspired other pop culture idioms including ‘growing the beard' (a TV show that gets better with age) and ‘nuking the fridge' (a ‘jump the shark' for movie franchises, named after Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull). In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly reveal Winkler's star power as the top turn on Happy Days, and explain why Robin Williams' appearance in the show *wasn't* a dream. Do they say ‘eeeeeeeeeeey' a lot? Exactamundo! This week GatGirl joins me and John to discuss all things Jon Hein, and the mystery surround why in the actual F*ck he has parlayed the driest most banal personality into not one but two shows, and several books. We take an in-depth look at the fleshy diabetic, and ponder his past and his future.
On the latest episode of Shea Anything, Doug Williams and Andy Martino welcome guest co-host Jon Hein! The guys kick off the show with a bit of a tangent on The Beatles and Paul McCartney, but then bring it all back to baseball to chat about what they’ve learned about the Mets recent play, and what next season should look like. They also dive back into the search for the next GM, and try to figure out the types of candidates the team might consider. Don’t forget – we want hear from you! Go to SNY.tv/SheaAnything and upload a video or audio clip of your take on the Mets. Keep it to 30 seconds or less, make it good, and you may be on the show!

Pat McAfee, Gregg Rosenthal and Jon Hein... Six-year veteran punter for the Indianapolis Colts and current NFL free agent Pat McAfee drops by "The Rich Eisen Podcast" for his first in-studio chat on the show. The hilarious Pittsburgh native brings his A-game, arriving at NFL Network studios rocking an American flag inspired, denim button down (unbuttoned) with his #PuntersArePeopleToo T-shirt underneath. McAfee's sense of fashion extends beyond the field and his wardrobe, as you'll find out when he tells the hilarious story of the rental car he's been driving around Los Angeles since arriving this past weekend. It's a fun chat that touches on a variety of pop culture and NFL topics. Next, the #REP doors open up for fellow NFL Media podcaster Gregg Rosenthal of "Around The League." With the 2014 NFL free-agency period just a few days away, Rosenthal stops by to discuss where he thinks some of the more prominent names might land and what certain teams need to do in order to ensure their rosters in areas of need. The guys also touch on the bizarre Jim Harbaugh situation in San Francisco and just what in the world will the New York Jets do this offseason at the quarterback position. We wrap up our show with Jon Hein, co-host of "The Wrap-Up Show" on Howard 100 and of "The Howard Stern Show" fame. The creator of JumpTheShark.com, Hein has been the #REP's go-to television critic for the past few years, so who better to have on for a recap of all things Oscars and for his thoughts on some of TV's most talked about current series. Eisen and Hein, along with producers Chris Law and Chris Brockman, discuss some of the excellent television viewers have to choose from -- with shows such as HBO's "True Detective" and Netflix's "House of Cards." Hein is also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and addresses what he'd like to see the team do during free agency and May's upcoming NFL draft. Enjoy and, as always, thanks for downloading! Brandon Marshall, Giovani Bernard and Aisha Tyler... Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall dials in to "The Rich Eisen Podcast." The Bears are off to a 3-0 start, their best since 2010 when they made it to the NFC Championship. Marshall discusses with Rich the key to the Bears early success and how coach Marc Trestman has put his stamp on the team. The outgoing Marshall also openly discusses his struggles with borderline personality disorder, and how he hopes to bridge the gap between the general public and their perception or misconceptions about people who suffer from mental health issues. It's a fascinating listen from an inspiring young man who seems to have things headed in the proper direction, both on and off the field. Next, Rich dials up Cincinnati Bengals rookie running back Giovani Bernard, who's coming off a huge win against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. The Bengals on Sunday became the first team in NFL history to give up a 14-point lead and then come back from a 16-point deficit to win. Rich discusses with Bernard how he his role in the offense has increased in Cincinnati's back-to-back wins, where he's found the end zone three times and is averaging over 5 yards per carry. The podcast wraps up with actress, host, and now New York Times best-selling author, Aisha Tyler. Tyler, who also hosts her own podcast (Girl On Guy Podcast) swings by NFL network studios to discuss her beloved 49ers and the tough loss they had at the hands of Andrew Luck in the Colts. Stay tuned for a late week edition of "The Rich Eisen Podcast" coming out Thursday, featuring Jon Hein of "The Howard Stern Show."
