The countless milestones along the way, but what about the experience of death and the pain of grief that comes afterwards? My guest this week is here to shed light on a subject that most people are not comfortable with. Her name is Sharon Brubaker and she is a certified Life Coach and credentialed Grief Specialist. Little did she know at the time that Erica was not broken and did not need to be fixed. Just like her she was simply grieving. Sharon searched everywhere for grief healing for Erica. She was lucky enough to find an educational program on grief and was so inspired by her own healing she decided to become a Grief Specialist. Sharon is the founder of Grief Healing with Sharon. The premier online grief coaching program for women suffering from grief due to death. As a Grief Specialist, Sharon has helped hundreds of grieving women complete their own personal grief and come through the pain, isolation, and loneliness left behind in our hearts after death.Sharon was the host of her own weekly radio show KHTS, The Grief Recovery Hour. In 2018 Sharon was honored to be on the first ever Grief Specialist on the TEDx stage.Together Sharon and Erica are the authors of The Healing Place and Processing Grief- the journal for the fresh new griever. Welcome to Ask Brien, the show with the answers to all your business questions! On today's episode, Brien and Traci welcome in Logan Shinholser from Contractor Growth Network who discusses how his company helps contractors grow their business digitally. Simply put, Contractor Growth Network helps contractors looking to attract more business to their company to be the part, look the part, and attract the part. With an emphasis on digital visibility and attracting qualified leads, CGN helps contractors to increase revenues and improve margins. In today's world, most potential clients will have their first interaction with your business online. That means your customers' first impression of your company is your website, reviews, and social media presence. “We focus on helping contractors build their own brand,” Logan said. “What we are focused on is do your own thing, because at some point if you want to get away from Angie or HomeAdvisor, you're going to lose a lot of that brand equity that you had built with them.” Listen to the entire episode here as Peter and Traci discuss the importance of branding your business with Logan! On today's episode, we have an eye-opening conversation with Carl Goldman, one of the very first Americans to contract COVID-19 while on the Diamond Princess cruise ship while on vacation outside of Japan in February 2020. Carl talks about his unexpected journey of quarantine on the ship and then being the first ever COVID patient placed in Omaha, Nebraska's biocontainment unit originally built for Anthrax. He gives the real story behind the media frenzy surrounding him and his wife who miraculously never tested positive for the virus. On top of the typical symptoms of a fairly mild case of COVID, Carl experienced far more serious health effects, partially due to an autoimmune precondition he had developed from the shingles vaccine, which left him paralyzed in his hands and feet. Carl and his wife Jeri, also owners of the radio station KHTS in Santa Clarita, CA, have a lot more to share about their experience than the media presented, and we will bring you Part Two of their story in an upcoming Podcast episode. This week, we're featuring two guests on this special Covid-19 coronavirus edition of the podcast. Our first guest is Carl Goldman, a Santa Clarita resident and owner of radio station KHTS, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 after being quarantined aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship docked at Yokohama, Japan. He spent more than 40 days in quarantine aboard the cruise ship and then in Omaha, Nebraska. Our second guest is UCLA's Professor of Epidemiology Anne W. Rimoin, Ph.D, M.P.H., director of the Center for Global and Immigrant Health at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She is one of the world's leading experts on emerging infectious diseases. During this podcast, Carl Goldman discusses his Covid-19 diagnosis, his quarantine, and his recovery from the disease. Professor Anne Rimoin answers our questions about why this novel virus has emerged now, what we can expect in the weeks and months ahead, how social distancing and other measures work to reduce and slow the spread of the virus, and why that could stop our hospitals and healthcare institutions from being overwhelmed as more people become infected.
We have been talking a lot about the spread of the coronavirus and also about all of people held in quarantine on air bases and cruise ships for fear that they might come down with it. One such couple from Santa Clarita, CA has had their Diamond Princess cruise extended by 14 days, but not by choice. A passenger on their ship contracted coronavirus, leading to a quarantine aboard the ship, now docked in Japan. Carl Goldman surprised his wife, Jeri Seratti-Goldman, with a 16-day cruise aboard the ship as a birthday gift, but now they're stuck in their cabin at port in Yokohama, Japan until Feb. 19. The Goldmans are owners of the radio station KHTS in Santa Clarita and have been have detailing parts of their quarantined experience on the station's website, hometownstation.com We got a chance to hear from Carl Goldman about his experience being trapped on the ship.
