Overview Want to know why some contractors dominate local search while others don't even show up? In this episode of the CGN Podcast, we sit down with CGN's SEO Manager, Stephanie, to walk you through how to optimize your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) and turn it into a lead-generating machine. From avoiding common mistakes that lead to suspension, to learning how to rank in Google Maps, this episode is packed with actionable steps for contractors serious about growing their local presence online. Episode Highlights What is a Google Business Profile (GBP) and why it matters for contractors The difference between local SEO and traditional SEO The exact checklist CGN uses to audit client profiles How to properly set up NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) consistency Photo and video best practices to boost conversions How to use posts, reviews, and core service offerings to improve ranking Troubleshooting common issues like duplicate listings and account suspensions Advanced tips for expanding visibility using business hours and insights Key Takeaways GBP is your digital storefront—often the potential clients' first impression of your business. You should aim to have 2–5 well-defined core offerings on your profile, not an overwhelming list of everything you do. Posting weekly, uploading high-quality photos, and responding to all reviews (good and bad) significantly helps local SEO. Extend your business hours if available—it can help you rank during off-hours searches. Use Google Business Insights to monitor clicks, calls, and profile views—it's free and powerful. Allen Hall: Manufacturing capacity in the wind energy sector continues to contract as GE Vernova's LM wind power continues to grow. Plant down in Brazil is being closed and that affects about a thousand workers, Joel. And it's coming because the demand in Latin America for GE, Vernova wind turbines and all them products is diminishing quite a bit. Now it's also part of a broader trend down in Brazil where installations have fallen by about 30 percent in 2024 compared to previous years. So there's a big slowdown in Brazil. And. GE, Vernova, slash LM are ceasing operations there. I don't see how this is going to last very long. There's a number of operators that are coming into Brazil, especially Chinese manufacturers. You think this factory will get gobbled up like some of the other ones that LM has closed recently? Joel Saxum: Yeah, I think this one, we heard about this whisperings of this. We before it happened, we've got some pretty good connections down in Brazil. With some people that are in the factories and it is, it's just following that trend. I think one of the interesting things about the Brazilian market as well is that, A lot of big turbines down there. People may not know that, but the majority of turbines, I think, are over like three megawatt machines. They're big down there. They don't have a whole lot of legacy old stuff like we do here. So there was this big ramp up to create all these bigger blades down there. Of course, making those big blades locally saves a lot of logistical costs. But you're going to see this changeover, right? Like in the States, we don't really, we don't allow the Chinese manufacturers to come in. And in Europe, they're not really allowing the Chinese manufacturers to come in, but in Brazil, they've been all over the place. And to be honest with you, some of the big asset owners down there have to, They're not just Chinese OEMs. It's Chinese owned asset owners like CGN and things like that. So there's a, there is a big tie to China and I believe, like you said, Alan, I think this a blade factory is a kind of a pain to build. And one that's just sitting there and all you really have to do is, Build some new molds and repurpose a couple of things and you're ready to roll. I think this will get scooped up pretty dang quick. Allen Hall: Yeah, which should be good news for the employees down there because there is still a need for people who know how to build blades that are hard to find right now. Now, Phil, is this a broader move by LM that they're going to be closing some of the factories because of GE's demand more recently? Phil Totaro: Yes, and let's keep in mind too that, GE stopped selling their turbines down there and that LM factory was largely just producing blades for Vestas V150s. It looks like it might be rough sledding for for some of the folks at LM. The good news is, so going,

He's the executive director of Watchmen Fellowship. Today the topic is, “the Bible, atheists, and culture.“ Today we talk about why someone should believe the Bible and light of other scriptures in the world. We also talk about the Need to talk with atheists. But there's a unique twist to this part. Take a listen and you'll find it. We don't want to just be conversing with atheists, but we want to… We no longer live in a culture with home turf for the gospel. We have to know why we believe what we believe.   Increase your ability to share the gospel within our context today, not yesterday. To do that we're going to have to talk with the atheists, agnostics, and those who are hostile to Christianity.  I would be interested in your feedback, of course. Share this in the media circles where you think it can do some good.  The Stoke it up! podcast is a part of the CGN media family. I encourage you to go and follow CHN on our social media handles.

Stress can lead to a broken digestive system. While 'we are what we eat' is a common refrain in the nutrition world, Meg expands this statement by instead standing by ‘‘We are what we DIGEST and ABSORB'. This foundational pillar of her practice and health philosophy lead her to prioritize tools that go beyond the food alone to optimize digestion like mindful eating, mealtime breath work and bitters. Hey folks, I am super excited to share with you the full audio of a workshop that Nick Cady and I put together for CGN. In this workshop, we dive deep into the topic of doubt and deconstruction. The goal of this workshop is to help Christians and ministry leaders understand this issue from an informed, compassionate, and measured perspective. The reality is a lot of people are struggling, and we need to work hard to understand the why. (Note: To anyone who follows me who is not a Christian, or is a former Christian who has now deconstructed, please understand you're not the target audience for this, but if you watch my hope Is that you'd see the heart in trying to help people understand so they can help! Feel free to DM me if it sparks anything you'd want to discuss. I'm always open.) We understand that doubt is a common experience and can be challenging to navigate, especially when it comes to ministering to the next generation. In this workshop, we aim to provide insights and practical strategies to help ministry leaders engage with and support individuals going through doubt and deconstruction. Here are some of the key points we will cover: 1. The personal significance of doubt: We both share our own experiences of doubt and how it led us to deeper exploration and growth. 2. Understanding the next generation: We explore the unique challenges young people face today and how doubt and deconstruction often play a significant role in their faith journey. 3. The impact of doubt on ministry: We discuss the heartbreak and challenges that ministry leaders face when helping individuals navigate doubt and provide guidance on how to address their questions and concerns. 4. The process of doubt and deconstruction: We unpack the definitions of doubt and deconstruction, highlighting the different stages and dynamics involved, and explore why understanding their origins is essential. 5. Practical application for helping those who struggle with doubt and deconstruction navigate these complex waters. We sincerely hope this workshop blesses you and enriches your ministry!
