What if discipleship isn't something we outsource, but something we embody, right where we are? In this episode, I sit down with David Sunde for a grounded and hopeful conversation about raising homegrown disciples. We talk about parenting, presence, and the slow, incarnational work of forming our families in the way of Jesus. David invites us to move beyond programs and into apprenticeship, learning not by content alone, but by imitation, by presence, by love. We explore how ordinary moments, mealtimes, bedtimes, commutes, can become sacred spaces. And how the Spirit forms us not through performance, but through vulnerability, reconciliation, and belonging. The Spirit of God is already moving in our homes and formation begins not with perfection, but with presence.David Sunde has been involved in professional non-profit and pastoral leadership for 25 years. As a native of San Francisco, California, he grew up amid a melting pot of culture, class, religion, and thoughts that shaped an unassuming if not disarming approach to people and conversation. Leveraging that experience alongside doctoral training in semiotics and culture, David is a catalyst for church renewal and developmental relationships. He's the author of Small-Batch Disciplemaking and the new release, Homegrown Disciples: Parenting Rhythms for Drawing Your Kids into Life With God. David and his wife, Laurel, have two kids, Bjorn and Annika, and live in Austin, TX.David's Book:Homegrown DisciplesDavid's Recommendations:Decoding the DivineAdventSubscribe to Our Substack: Shifting CultureConnect with Joshua: jjohnson@allnations.usGo to www.shiftingculturepodcast.com to interact and donate. A musical instrument sounds beautiful when it’s in tune, but over time, the strings loosen, and the notes go flat. But with a little attention and the right adjustments, it can be restored to the perfect pitch. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie shows us how the same is true in our spiritual lives. When we drift out of sync with God, we’re not lost—we just need to be re-tuned. We’re in Nehemiah, learning practical steps to bring our lives back into harmony with God’s plan. Most people want to live with purpose, but few take the time to create a plan that aligns their life with God's kingdom. Jesus calls us to be good and faithful stewards—not just with our talents, but with our spiritual growth, finances, and good works. In this message, we'll explore how to seek God's divine guidance, make a plan, and take intentional steps so that, at the end of our lives, we can hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

'But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” ' Genesis 3:9-11
Thank you for joining us for today's worship service! Today, Pastor Chris continues with the idea of going deeper from his earlier message with our "Word of the Year." This is not meant to compare ourselves with others, nor is it an encouragement to greater theological complexity. We are encouraged to grow deeper than we have been before in our faith, in our faith-driven actions, and in our relationship with God. As we go deeper, Pastor Chris gives us three thoughts to help us. First, the deeper life will require less, not more, activities, as we shed that which would distract us from our goals. Second, the deeper life will feel unfamiliar, and we will feel the urge to go back to what we know, but growth requires leaving the comfortable. Third, the deeper life is not one we can pursue alone. God's plan has always been for a community of faith to support each other, including the assurance in Hebrews 12:1 that "we are surrounded by so great a crowd of witnesses." If you prayed to make Jesus your Lord today, we want to rejoice with you! If you would want someone to pray with you, we are eager to do so! If you would like more information about our church, we're want to share. Please text the word "NEXT" to 407-77 so we can engage with you. Senior Pastor Jason Edwards resumed our Ephesians sermon series with his message "Life With God."
In today’s fast-paced world, the constant push for productivity can overshadow the importance of being present and connected to something greater. Instead of merely focusing on accomplishing tasks, we can embrace stillness and intentionally seek God's presence. This can lead to deeper personal growth and fulfillment. By prioritizing relationships and prayer over endless to-do lists, we can experience a richer, more meaningful life, where true transformation occurs in the quiet moments of connection and awareness. Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week we're talking about serving in God's kingdom, which means we're gonna try and guilt you and shame you into doing more and more for the church. Or are we? Ironically, Alex's message led us down a more invitational way of thinking about serving on Sunday. And how our life with God actually fuels and motivates our service. So, let's dive in to hear a little bit more about that.
A yap about the new year and anchoring goals in something deeper than grit and motivation -- when we can confront the impulses, insecurities, fears that drive our bad habits and poor choices, true change is able to actually happen.
