NEW TO WHO AND THE GENESIS OF THE DALEKSThe Place: ScotlandTime: The day Verity!’s Liz Miles joined New To WhoAfter over fifty years of futile discussion between fans, Steven thinks this is the perfected form that carries Doctor Who into eternity - the dreaded GENESIS OF THE DALEKS. Without feeling, conscience or pity, Steven is joined as ever by Dan and this time by the wonderful Liz Myles to travel back through time in an effort to totally deconstruct this terrible menace of the future. From Tom Baker’s first season as the Doctor, GENESIS OF THE DALEKS is rightly lauded as one of the very best Doctor Who stories ever made.Combining the great powers of script editor Robert Holmes, producer Philip Hinchcliffe, director David Maloney, and a script by inventor of the Daleks, Davros - err, Terry Nation, we also have one of the great TARDIS teams of all time in the form of travelling companions Sarah-Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan, played resplendently by the late and wonderful Elizabeth Sladen and Ian Marter.Fusing the still-heard echoes of World War II with aspects of moral philosophy and growing fears about scientific discoveries about the human genome, Genesis is a story of its time that remains as relevant today as it ever was.The cover of the original imprint of the 1976 Target novelisation for GENESIS OF THE DALEKS is used with the kind permission of Chris Achilleos. The novelisation is written by Sir Terrance Dicks. The audiobook is read by Tom Baker.Intro theme by Our Colin (2017). The news this week is sparse, so of course conspiracy theories abounded amongst the Three Who Rule involving Zimbabwe, missing episodes, cricket, and madness. But lo, there was a small morsel of news, and that was the fact that San Diego Comic Con will in fact have a Doctor Who panel (featuring Capaldi, Moffat, Minchin, Coleman and Gomez) on Thursday, so we can tell you much earlier....whatever they reveal! But let's get down to brass tacks here, by which I mean a commentary on the Series 8 standout episode "Flatline", with Verity's own Liz Myles! Forward...to the second dimension! Check out the show notes at http://www.radiofreeskaro.com

All this plus comedy from Liz Myles, Bill Evenson, Scot Clarke, Sean Homrig and Laura Gerald... and Alex Kennard finally sings the song he was supposed to have sung last month!
A trailer! A trailer! Maybe not THE trailer we've all been waiting for, but certainly a fitting tribute to 50 years of Doctor Who, with a frankly insane number of homages and visual cues stuffed into a minute of pure nostalgia. In true timey-wimey fashion, the Three Who Rule recorded the bulk of this episode BEFORE the trailer came out, but Steven and Warren were able to admonish their past selves and give their brief thoughts on the trailer, mostly consisting of "ooo," "ahhh," and "gear!" But lest you think a minute of visually splendiferous pandering was all that was covered in this episode of RFS, feast your earballs on a Miniscope featuring an interview with Liz Myles, the co-editor of Chicks Unravel Time and a member of the Verity! podcast, as she sings the praises of the Graham Williams era. Steven, Warren and Chris also cover the peaks and valleys of the Williams era, in addition to bantering about non-trailer related news. Fantasallonsonimo!
