Then we spelunk down to “The Satan Pit” confirming that the Devil made the Ood do it (Oodit?). Whilst all this is going down, the Doctor likely meets up with the artist-formerly-know-as-Satan, Rose impossibly has Satan as her co-pilot, and Scooti definitely gets no sympathy from the Devil.

How do the Ood serve Doctor Who? Are they more interesting as harbingers of doom, pawns of the literal devil, or rabid victims of capitalist greed? Planet of the Ood takes the latter approach, and the result is a tale so dark even Donna Noble can't lighten it up. This week on the OOD podcast, Josh and Kevin are joined by Angellia Perry, also known as "Airgun Angie". In this episode, Angie tells us about her growing up, not necessarily in a "hunting' family, but did not get into it until she met her husband. Angie then was approached by Rick Eutsler about making her outdoor activities into a job, doing product reviews. Since then Angie has delved heavily into not just hunting and shooting with PCP Air rifles (Precharged compressed pneumatic) but hunting and shooting in general. Angie tells us about hunting down in her now home state of South Carolina. Including the various animals she hunts from hogs and deer, to varmints and predators, with everything from Bows and Airguns to modern firearms. Angie also tells us about something Josh and I have not heard of before up here in Michigan, hunting deer with dogs. She then tells us about the booming armadillo population, the damage they do (and dangers they present (disease) and hunting them. We talk about hog hunting with dogs as well, and her experiences with it, and again, talk about the dangers of hunting hogs with dogs to both the hunters and the dogs. We then get into Air gun discussions, Angie relates her experiences with different calibers, power sources, pellet (bullet) choices, shot placement and different types of airguns (breakaction/spring/air/pneumatic) as well as her experiences with different brands, and practical hunting ranges with them. Angie also relates her experiences with optics, which ones are good for airguns and why, using ATN optics, how she likes to use the products and thermal vs nightvsision, and working the booth for them at SHOT Show. We finish with Angie telling us about options for people looking to get into big bore airguns, price points for them and prices for needed accessories. As always, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING. Doctor Who meets God. No, that's dumb, and besides — Star Trek already did it. But Doctor Who meets the Devil? That could be something, especially if you keep the precise identity of the antagonist opaque, blow up the stakes with a cosmological Rube Goldberg machine, and generally make the whole thing creepy as, uh, hell. The two-parter of The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit ticks all of those boxes and includes a bonus: the Ood, one of NuWho's most indomitable monsters in more ways than one. But what really makes this outing memorable is the deep sense of isolation, helped by plopping our characters across the street from a black hole. But how “impossible” is that exactly, and does what's happening on screen have anything to do with the real universe? Good thing we've got a guest astrophysics expert to help us come to grips with the mavity of the situation. Pull To Open welcomes Ellie Blackwood (@looseleafellie on TikTok) to the podcast! We're heading back to the Satan Pit, and then back a little bit more, to watch series 2 episode 8, "The Impossible Planet"! It's our first time completing a two-parter on this podcast, so it's fitting that it would be the part 1. We'll try our best to be shocked as characters who weren't in part 2 die! We'll also try to forget that the resolution of the Ood is no good. Maybe we're misremembering what happens to all of them in the end! Maybe they're all chilling on Margaritulon 9! Join Sis and Big Pops for a fun, fun talk about one of the things we love most—Nerd Stuff. We discuss out fav bits of nerd news over the past couple of months. YAY for the Oscars, and the four winners of the acting awards this year. There are some fun movies and shows that are coming out this year: Elemental with a potential UP themed short and Barbie. There was also some speculation about media coming out further out in the future, such as: A Harry Potter TV series on HBOMax, a new doctor, a new Fantastic Four Director, Deadpool 3 having a director, Kellog coming out with a new cereal, some sad news about the actor who played Kang the conquer. There was also some sad news regarding a man who had passed away who collected a large amount of comic books, there is going to be a documentary of how the family sells and donates most of the books he had accumulated. For bingeing, Big Pops has been watching The Mandolorian, Ted Lasso, and Picard. It's also the beginning of a new month, so he has been able to renew books on Hoopla again, and has been enjoying re-reading “Do a Power Bomb” Sis has been watching Doctor Who (still) and is watching episodes with Donna, the Ood are right around the corner, she also has been enjoying a show called Clarkson's Farm on Prime as well as re-watching through RWBY in preparation for the new season coming out.
