Interview with Vanbur - In this episode of Sync Music Matters I'm chatting to Vanbur aka Jessica Jones and Tim Morrish. We'll be chatting about their work on One Day, the Netflix adaptation of the novel by David Nichols which interestingly, seems to resemble their story. We'll also be digging into their creative process, the power of collaborating and the liberating power of restricting yourself creatively. We also chat Jaffa cakes... again! Vanbur is the artist project of composers Jessica Jones and Tim Morrish. Their sound can best be described as ethereal vocals floating on a bed of contemporary and haunting cinematic score. They recently worked alongside Anne Nikitin on the score for Netflix's One Day and also had a number of their Vanbur tracks featured as part of the soundtrack. Independently they've worked on shows like the long running comedy drama series Brassic, Netflix's true crime show American Nightmare, Tinder Swindler and Jimmy Saville: A british Horror Story They are also working on a new album due out at the end of 2025. In this episode, LRM's Martin Domoney and Steve Miller sit down for an hour of chat with Alistair and Duncan from Richards Chassis.Whilst on a mission to collect the bulkhead for Steve's 1984 Ninety project, the boys grab the opportunity to chat to the minds behind the magic of building brand-new chassis' for Land Rovers, the mainframe – literally and figuratively – of many a Land Rover rebuild or restoration.Richards Chassis' Alistair and Duncan talk through how the business started, where it's heading now and the dos and don'ts of restoring original Series One chassis' rather than replacing them for a new unit – no matter how rotten they are.Steve manages to shoehorn in a bit of old British classic car talk, and the guys discuss how Land Rover restoration has evolved over the years, and how it's looking stronger than ever.Apologies for the audio in this episode – it was recorded in a workshop on a normal working day. As always your questions and feedback are welcome – email editorial@lrm.co.ukEnjoy the episode.

With our guest, we've chosen to support the charity Mind, and you can hear more about their work and access support here: mind.org.uk. In this episode, host Andrew Martin is joined by Jane Hough - a genealogist, blogger, and former guest (see 'The Laundress' from Series One). He finds out how her research has progressed, her work with Few Forgotten Women, and her love of Wills and studying.THE LIFE STORY - LILIAN MAUDE EVANS For this part of the episode, Andrew and Jane are joined by Kathryn Burtinshaw - genealogist, genealogy tutor, and co-author of 'Lunatics, Imbeciles and Idiots - A History of Insanity in Nineteenth Century Britain & Ireland' (Pen and Sword, 2017). Jane tells the moving story of her Great Grandmother Lilian Maude Evans, who was found wandering the streets in distress, and was arrested. We turn to Kathryn to help us to understand the context of Maude's diagnosis and treatment.THE BRICK WALL - RICHARD and MARY HUTCHINSONThis time, Jane has chosen her 3x Great Grandparents Richard and Mary Hutchinson of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England.Jane has them on the 1841, 1851, and 1861 censuses in Huddersfield, but cannot find a sure match for their origins. They were both born in the 1790s and there's some Lancashire connections. If you think that you can offer her some help with a clue or research idea, then you can contact her at her website allthosebefore.org.uk or Bluesky account, or alternatively you can send us a message and we'll pass it on to her.Meanwhile, Jane knows how helpful Andrew can be... but will she take his offer a second time?- - - Episode Credits:Andrew Martin - Host and ProducerJane Hough - GuestKathryn Burtinshaw - GuestSupport the showThank you for listening! The final episode of the Wilderness years! We got through it. This isn't a bad one to finish on as Kate Lethbridge Stewart returns in this somewhat sequel to the Demons. Although a warning that Mark has a rant about Doctor Who events for the first half of the episode. Next up it'll be the Doscars before starting Series One. Ps. It's the 'Who Do You Thunk You Are' directors cut video that the candle hand is in.

Jump on board the Campervan as we celebrate fifty years of the Fourth Doctor! Yes, the beloved fourth incarnation of our favourite Time Lord first graced TV screens in December 1974 - and some of the DWP remember the early days when those now infamous teeth and curls first etched themselves onto fandom's collective memory. Join Michele and Ian as they steer the Campervan through a nostalgic celebration, taking Brent, James and Phil along for the ride. The scenic drive includes a fresh look at the fourth Doctor's first television story, Robot, a review of the first story in Series One of his audio adventures from Big Finish Productions, Destination Nerva - and finally a chat about Seeds of Doom, the classic climax to Series 13. Sit back and enjoy the phenomenon that is the Fourth Doctor, wonderfully played the indescribably brilliant Tom Baker. Enjoy the show!

We conclude our Series One re-watch with the Satellite 5 three episode saga... whist also not-coincidentally concluding the ninth Doctor's saga. First up is “The Long Game” where the Doctor and Rose try to impress new companion (nope) Adam by taking him to the year 200,000 yet need to rescue them all from certain death in the form of Albino Simon Pegg. Next we jump to “Bad Wolf” where the Doctor and Rose return to Satellite 5 where she finally succumbs to certain death as “The Weakest Link”... until she doesn't (die that is). Finally, we land on the season finale “The Parting of the Ways” where Star-Lord-Rose saves only Captain Jack from certain death, yet ensures the ninth Doctor regenerates into the sexier (for some) 10th Doctor.
In 1904, the Red Sox missed out on winning a World Series not because they lost, but because they won. WBZ's Kyle Bray explains.
In this episode, Martin is joined by Land Rover Monthly's longest-serving contributor, Alisdair Cusick.Alisdair explains how he got into photographing Land Rovers for a living, and shares some of the highs and lows of his career including filling a classic Range Rover with muddy water. He gives up some trade secrets on how you can take the very best photos of your Land Rover for the Your Pictures pages of Land Rover Monthly, and reminisces on buying his own soft-dash Range Rover and restoring his beautifully-patina'd Series One.Alisdair also weighs in on how to present Tech articles, and how a little bit of extra work can make a huge difference to the overall finish to the Land Rover. As always – please do rate/review/subscribe. Through stories of connection, vulnerability, and self-mastery, they reveal how the program has helped them become trustworthy leaders, deepen relationships, and embrace true brotherhood. The focus on depth over width, with an emphasis on embodying growth through action and accountability has led these men to grow much further outside their capacity doing it all alone. If you're ready to take the long-term path of transformation, this episode will inspire you to start your journey.

When Curtis falls under suspicion for the murder of Hugh Neville, the future of Lifeline is in doubt as Brandt and Kessler come dangerously close to uncovering their operations... Andy is thrilled to have arrived at what he consider to be a blueprint for the series Secret Army and even dispensed with his usual poker face when watching it with Ryan. AJ meanwhile couldn't help but notice the wintry feel or the amount of times characters came in and out of doors! There's also high praise for both Curtis and Albert they respond to questioning, as well as fond appreciation for the thoughtful scenes that the latter shares with Andree. Elsewhere, there's an opportunity to sing "Capable Women" rather than "Interchangeable Men" and a moment to appreciate Jacques Bol in this his final episode. This flyby is crucial for adjusting the spacecraft's speed and trajectory, and it offers scientists a valuable opportunity to gather preliminary data and fine-tune onboard instruments. Despite challenges with its electric thrusters, the mission remains on track, with 10 of the 16 scientific instruments operational during this flyby. Expect the first images to be released on September 5, with initial scientific results to follow on September 13.- China's Sea-Based Satellite Launch: Galactic Energy, a private rocket manufacturer based in Beijing, has achieved its third sea-based launch of the Series One carrier rocket, marking China's 12th successful sea-based satellite launch. The rocket deployed six satellites into a sun-synchronous orbit approximately 535 km above Earth, showcasing the reliability and effectiveness of their technology. This successful launch highlights China's growing prowess in space exploration and satellite deployment.- Artemis III Mission and 4G Connectivity: NASA's upcoming Artemis III mission will break new ground by equipping astronauts with cutting-edge 4G connectivity designed by Nokia. This technology will allow lunar explorers to broadcast high-definition video and transmit large volumes of scientific data back to Earth in real-time. The 4G network will be tested later this year with Intuitive Machines' IM-2 mission, and the technology could benefit future lunar missions and various lunar devices.- The Mystery of Lunar Swirls: Visible through even basic telescopes, lunar swirls have long puzzled scientists. Recent studies suggest that these light-colored swirls are the result of magnetized rocks that create a magnetic field strong enough to deflect solar wind particles. Understanding the origin of these swirls could reveal more about the Moon's geological history and its ancient magnetic environment. NASA plans to send a rover to the famous Reiner Gamma swirl in 2025 as part of the Lunar Vertex mission to gather more data. For more space news, be sure to visit our website at astronomydaily.io. "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through the epistle to the Ephesians. St. Paul highlights the salvation that God has given to His whole Church by His grace through faith. Because God has given His people this new life in Holy Baptism, we live in thanksgiving to Him as members of one body. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Sharper Iron is underwritten by Lutheran Church Extension Fund, where your investments help support the work of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Visit lcef.org.
