Focus: Active faith that is following the Holy Spirit requires humility. We must be willing to challenge our own understanding in the face of God's word. While our understanding is used in discerning, assuming it's always right puts us at risk of missing where He leads. Are we following and learning from God, or are we limited by our own understanding and unwillingness to learn? Acts 10:9-33

#10MinuteswithJesus ** Put yourself in the presence of God. Try talking to Him. ** 10 minutes are 10 minutes. Even if you can get distracted, reach the end. ** Be constant. The Holy Spirit acts "on low heat" and requires perseverance. 10-Minute audio to help you pray. Daily sparks to ignite prayer: a passage from the gospel, an idea, an anecdote and a priest who speaks with you and the Lord, inviting you to share your intimacy with God. Find your moment, consider you are in His presence and click play.
"Inconceivable!" "You keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means." In the classic movie, "The Princess Bride," the character Vizzini uses the word "inconceivable" multiple times. He says it when his plans go awry or something unexpected happens. He says it to express frustration or disbelief when things don't turn out the way he thinks they should. But as Inigo Montoya points out, Vizzini doesn't understand the meaning of the word; he uses it without fully grasping its implications. This Sunday we're beginning a new series we've titled, "Don't Call Me a Christian - When the Label Doesn't Match the Life." If you asked 10 different people what it means to be a Christian, you'd likely get 10 different answers. In our world today, the word 'Christian' means different things to different people. And a lot of people use the word without fully understanding its meaning or grasping its implications for their lives. Join us as we take the next five weeks to unpack what the Bible has to say about what it truly means to be a Christian. You'll find us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or connect with us via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, come worship with us in person! Arrive early and enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation in the Lobby. We do know that 11 AM on Sunday doesn't work for everyone. A peer reviewed study from the University of British Columbia analyzed the most popular ADHD-related videos on TikTok and found that very few of them contain information that aligns with medical diagnostics. Even more interesting, people who consume this kind of content perceive the diagnosis to be far more widespread - and symptoms far more intense - than in reality. Social media is warping our sense of reality and self?! Inconceivable! Plus: New bi-partisan legislation aims to repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. The 1996 law shields websites from litigation if their users upload harmful content. This protection is integral to how the modern Web functions, and erasing it could lead to over-moderation and fear-based censorship. While harmful user content is always a concern, the true problem with social media is not that the content exists, but its weaponization by tech companies in the name of profit. In this case, Congress is fixing the wrong problem, and the consequences could damage online speech for years to come. After being convicted of the 1986 murder of 20-year-old college student Scott Macklem in a college parking lot in Michigan, Temujun Kensu yelled "They got the wrong man. I'll beat them on appeal" as court officers took him away. More than three decades later, Temujin is still waiting. Why? Send us a text"We're gonna need a bigger boat." "There's no place like home." "Inconceivable!" The classic movie, TV or video game quote serves a very important purpose: it's a clearly defined, self-contained, and universally understood reference to a well-written piece of entertainment that can apply to any number of life situations. When well-placed, a sharp line can act as a timeless (and timely) conversational lubricant that acts like a pop-culture parfait of sorts — it's layered, easily digestible, and can serve as a sweet and satisfying finisher to a more substantial situation. Plus, you can see who else has eaten it up, then use it as a litmus test to find other people who share your taste. In this episode of Fuel Your Fandom, Saint and Jim do a rapid rundown of some of the most quotable quips from the world of nerd media. Did your favorite bon mot make the list? Only one way to find out! Friends, Romans, countrymen...Lend us your earholes.

Oh my goodness you all. I'm not sure exactly what to say right now that matters, other than that this is the time to express ourselves. I was moved tonight to let you know that I am here and paying attention and going through some of the same things you are. And I'm also as ready as I can be to support us during this time. I'm pacing the floor tonight. These are my thoughts. I want to recommend that you record your own thoughts, even if you don't share them. Or write them out. Or dance them out in pink sparkle uggs! I replaced the audio from last night…it felt too vulnerable upon waking. I tried another one that is better I hope. I am not speaking for the community that I serve.
