Chinese Ambassador to the United States Qin Gang has hit back at the "disinformation" about China's alleged prior knowledge of Russia's military action in Ukraine as well as the "rumors" about Moscow seeking military assistance from China, saying that all of these claims serve the purpose of "slinging mud" at China. In an opinion piece titled "Where We Stand in Ukraine" published in The Washington Post on Tuesday, the diplomat fully explained China's position on the Ukraine crisis and dispelled rumors that were recently spread by some US officials.15日,驻美国大使秦刚在《华盛顿邮报》发表题为《我们在乌克兰问题上的立场》的署名文章,充分解释了中国在乌克兰问题上的立场,驳斥了近期一些美国政客散播的谣言。Qin's response came as unidentified US officials told the New York Times that China allegedly had prior knowledge of Russia's military action and had demanded Russia delay it until the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics concluded. Recent rumors claimed that Russia was seeking military assistance from China. Let me say this responsibly: Assertions that China knew about, acquiesced to or tacitly supported this war are purely disinformation. All these claims serve only the purpose of shifting blame to and slinging mud at China," the Chinese diplomat said. Qin underscored the fact that there were more than 6,000 Chinese citizens in Ukraine before the conflict, and that China is the biggest trading partner of both Russia and Ukraine and the largest importer of crude oil and natural gas in the world. Conflict between Russia and Ukraine does no good for China," he said. "Had China known about the imminent crisis, we would have tried our best to prevent it."“俄乌发生冲突,于中方没有半点好处。中方不可能在知情情况下不予劝阻。”秦刚表示。He also warned Washington against threatening to impose sanctions against Chinese companies on the one hand and seeking China's support and cooperation on the other. Threats against Chinese entities and businesses, as uttered by some US officials, are unacceptable. Neither war nor sanctions can deliver peace. Wielding the baton of sanctions at Chinese companies while seeking China's support and cooperation simply won't work," Qin said. Observers said that amid the worsened ties between Beijing and Washington in recent years, US politicians have used every opportunity to spread disinformation to smear or discredit China in an attempt to make political gains for themselves or have more bargaining power in negotiations with China. They have played such tricks since the COVID-19 pandemic started and did so after the Ukraine crisis broke out, they said. Just before the meeting between Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in Rome, Italy, on Monday, some US officials claimed that Russia had sought military assistance from China. During the meeting, Yang stressed that China firmly opposes any words and deeds that spread disinformation and distort and smear China's position. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied such claims on Monday, saying Russia has not asked China for military help for use in Ukraine. Commenting on the same claim, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the US' practice is nothing short of spreading disinformation. "The US has been creating and spreading disinformation from time to time. This is neither professional nor ethical, still less responsible. By doing so, the US will further lose the trust of the world," Zhao said at a regular news conference on Monday. What the US should do is deeply reflect upon its role in the evolving situation of the Ukraine crisis, and do more things that can help to ease the situation, he added.“美方应该做的,是深刻反思自身在乌克兰危机发展演变过程中所扮演的角色,真正为推动乌克兰局势缓和做些实事,”赵立坚补充道。acquiesce英 [ˌækwiˈes]; 美 [ˌækwiˈes]vi. What is Mr. Foster's precise claim? How does it relate to what we know of the publishing of the books in question? Of the Disney acquisition? Of Mergers and Acquisition law? Tamilla Woodard, names Associate Director for Broadway’s Hadestown on March 22, is the Co-Artistic Director of Working Theater. This season her work includes American Dreams, By Leila Buck, Where We Stand by Donnetta Lavinia Grays for WP Theater and Baltimore Center Stage, Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls at American Conservatory Theater and direction and co-conception of Warriors Don’t Cry, a Co-production of The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts and TheaterWorksUSA. Recently named one of 50 Women To Watch on Broadway, Tamilla is a graduate of Yale School of Drama where she also teaches. http://www.tamilla.com Partners since the 1990s in art and life, Paul Weir and Nadia Hagen are founding Board Members for the umbrella non-profit, Many Mouths One Stomach, that produces the annual All Souls Processions. Nadia was born and raised in New York and has worked as a scenic painter and toured with the notorious Tribal Industrial Project, Crash Worship. Paul grew up in New Orleans and brings a background in mountaineering, Industrial Design and Butoh Dance to his work. Nadia took over The All Souls Procession as an Artistic Director in 1996, and founded Flam Chen Pyrotechnic Theater, which Paul joined 1998. The All Souls Procession is perhaps one of the most important, inclusive and authentic public ceremonies in North America today. The Procession had its beginnings in Tucson, Arizona in 1990 with a ceremonial performance piece created by local artist Susan Johnson. The tradition now organizes for well over 150,000 participants on the streets of downtown Tucson for a two-mile long human-powered procession that ends in the ceremonial burning of a large Urn filled with the hopes, offerings and wishes of the public for those who have passed. Myriad altars, performers, installation art, and creatives of all kinds collaborate for almost half the year to prepare their offerings for this amazing event. The All Souls Procession, and now the entire All Souls Weekend, is a celebration and mourning of the lives of our loved ones and ancestors. https://allsoulsprocession.org/ Info for 2020: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgsd3_jiBuU&feature=youtu.be Many Mouths One Stomach, a non-profit arts collective based in Tucson, AZ, is the organizing body for the Procession, and serves as a vehicle for working artists to collaborate, create, and inspire the public through Festal Culture. “Festal Culture” is the expression and fulfillment of core human needs through public celebration, ceremony, and ritual. The All Souls Procession is an event that was created to serve the public need to mourn, reflect, and celebrate the universal experience of Death, through their ancestors, loved ones, and the living. The Procession is a sanctuary for community members from all walks of life to express their grief and loss in a celebration of creative energy and rejoicing of life. With the continued cooperation of the City of Tucson, Tucson Police and Fire departments, local businesses, civic organizations, and participants like YOU — MMOS stewards the development of the parade to accommodate the growing number of participants in a healthy and harmonious way. https://manymouths.org/ #ATC #WeAreArizonaTheatreCompany #Hangandfocus #allsoulstucson #allsoulsprocession

Last month, after Governor Hogan issued a stay-at-home order for Marylanders, theater companies had to cancel the live performances that are at the heart of their artform. But many of the 40+ theater groups in our area are pivoting to digital technology to stream performances directly onto computers and tablets and TV screens, and they’re devising other imaginative ways to keep their audiences engaged. Joining Tom on the line today is the award-winning Brooklyn-based actor and playwright Donnetta Lavinia Grays. She stars in the one-person play she wrote and video-produced with Baltimore Center Stage, called Where We Stand. The play is being streamed online to pay-what-you-can ticket buyers until April 26. Center Stage Artistic Director Stephanie Ybarra also joins Tom to discuss the theater company's innovative response to the pandemic shutdown, and its quick pivot to virtual audience engagements, including its multi-theater collaboration on Play At Home, in which playwrights (including Ms. Grays) were commissioned to write short, ten-minute plays that house-bound audiences can download, for free, to read or perform in their homes. Then, Tom talks with Genevieve de Mahy, founder and Artistic Director of Single Carrot Theatre, a company that intentionally left its theater home last year to seek novel venues and to engage in more educational and community-centered theater. Ms. DeMahy talks about the next installment in Single Carrot’s popular Flipside Series (which include its Cabarets and Drunk Classics), one-night-only events that de Mahy says "are fun...and embrace the unexpected." Tonight's event, called "Pajama Party! A Virtual Variety Show," takes place via Zoom at 8pm. For more info on the Single Carrot theater event, click here.

Does that title scare you? Because it should. We finish off Where We Stand, (another) 400,000 word Katara/Ozai fic. The true dropoff into surrealism occurs as a certain old, bitter waterbender gets Star Wars'ed to death, our main couple prioritizes a clump of cells over everything else, and Ozai transcends human form/physically manifests as the walking dumpster fire that he truly is. Next, Ozai gets fresh new batch of ch*ldren to abuse, Zuko is STILL trying to get back with Katara (seriously man, just give up, it's weird to fuck the mother of your half-s*blings anyways), the royal couple finally has a fight that I approve of, and Ozai drinks Katara's breast milk... what the fuck did I just write.UPDATE March 2019: Many of the assumptions I made in this review are incorrect.
