Lisa and I conclude our conversation with cancer survivor Chris Wark. I consider the evil of a judge striking down a man's agreed upon wages, Lot's sons-in-law in crisis, my school lunches from back in the day and the heart of the matter, forgiveness.

Mike, Seth, & Tommy dive back into the Mythical Man-Month series and tackle the idea of the Second System Effect and how it relates to Power BI development. The Second System Effect is the tendency for a developer to "err on the side of over embellishment when planning their second project". This usually occurs when small, elegant, and successful systems can become over-developed and bloated due to inflated expectations and overconfidence. How does this relate to our development and report lifecycle? Based on a link from Paul Turley's blog (and an episode on getting your data into shape). The idea behind this is observations from software engineers not delivering on time despite adding more resources, with the possibility of measuring quality work in "man-months" is a myth. How much of this relates to Power BI development and data integration struggles? When we are so deep in the technical specs, data management, and modeling, is the solution more BI resources? Help your team become more efficient by splitting up their tasks more effectively. Casey Stanton is bringing the concept of partitionable and unpartitionable tasks to the center stage to show how you may be wasting time and effort on tasks while actually making them take longer to finish. You'll learn how to recognize the different types of tasks, plan for a more efficient quarter and choose the right clients to serve as a Fractional CMO. Takeaways: Brook's Law demonstrates that adding more capacity to a project that's failing actually extends the timeline it takes to produce a quality product. There are two main types of tasks, partitionable and unpartitionable. Unpartitionable tasks do not see an increased acceleration in completion with added manpower. Whereas, partitionable tasks are completed faster with more hands involved. Some tasks, like writing persuasive copy, are unpartitionable because they require a singular voice and vision. When you add more people to a team, you increase the amount of necessary intercommunication within the team exponentially. As a Fractional CMO, you should know what tasks are unpartitionable and how you can help the people working on those tasks without getting in their way. When doing quarterly planning, consider what tasks are partitionable or not and what the time needed to complete them actually is. As a Fractional CMO, the Three C's you need to know a potential client has are cash, capability, and capacity. Quote of the Show: “It's the unpartitionable tasks that are the tasks that do not scale with more human capacity” - Casey Stanton Links: Twitter: https://twitter.com/CaseyStanton LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/caseystanton/ Website: https://cmox.co/call Shout Outs: The Mythical Man-Month by Fred Brooks Ways to Tune In: Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/039bc2d6-c1b5-4ced-ac2a-437e69546e7c/fractional-cmo-show Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/fractional-cmo-show/id1592740671 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1HGwnjsXA4c4gYQvj4w53E?si=bd6e0908e25749ec Google Podcast: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mcmFjdGlvbmFsY21vLmxpYnN5bi5jb20vcnNz?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjlpNDTveb0AhUXEFkFHaZcDtYQ9sEGegQIARAC YouTube: https://youtu.be/ydFEPv40vts

Jim Colledge | This week, we continue “Man Month” at CCC as we discuss a man and his legacy. We all have a legacy, whether good or not so good, and Pastor Jim Colledge takes us to Nehemiah 5:17-19 and 13:14-31 to reflect on how it is that we will be remembered by others. Learn how one’s goodness, godliness, integrity and servitude influence a man’s legacy.

Joe Coffey | This week, we look at what it means to be courageous as a man of God, persevering through suffering and finding ways to become more like Jesus in the process. Courage is the motivation to do something challenging because you have a commitment to someone or something that supersedes your desire for comfort, pleasure and happiness. You can’t always choose your times to be courageous, but through discipline and an understanding that God only brings into your life what is necessary for you to flourish, you can be ready to take courageous steps when the moment arrives.

Caleb Eernisse | This week, we kick off “Man Month” at CCC by talking about what it looks like to be a “man after God’s own heart,” much like King David was. Whether you’re “feasting on the Word of God” by reading, studying and acting upon Biblical truth, repenting wholeheartedly when you sin or worshiping God and ascribing all glory to him, hear what it takes to live as a man of God in today’s broken world.

Matthew Duncan and I have know each other for a few years. He seems a bit shy, has glasses and lovely curly locks. He has a sweet smile and is someone who I am SO excited to have on my podcast. Matt marks the FIRST MALE interview (of course except for my husband, Charles on the show). February is MAN MONTH! I kick off this month of L O V E with Matt because he and I are on the same page when it comes to kids and giving them "good" stuff to do. AND because he wanted to be on my podcast! Thanks for that Matt! Matt began a fun journey because of his background, love of children, education and because it is something he feels passionately about, find out about The Upcycled Toys Club and be inspired to get more boxes and allow your kids imaginations to run wild. What resources do you have that you can do a bit better in not "wasting"? What can you and I do on a daily basis to inspire the next generation to care about our earth? I love this episode, and you will too! Please rate our podcast and share the love. XO A
