Nick Conley is a former Division I athlete at Nicholls State University, now working in Sales. We first met when I was a guest speaker for their football team in 2018. Nick has since become part of my one-on-one coaching program, which he says has added structure to his life.Nick is one of my best 'students.' He's done everything I've asked him to do, and now he's getting the early returns of a disciplined life.At just 23 years old, Nick moved to Houston after landing a high-paying sales job. His only prior work experience was commission-only insurance sales in his hometown of Jackson, Misssissippi. In this episode, Nick talks about his personal development quest. He journals regularly, reads a book a month, and has setup his personal finances in a way that'll enable him to build massive wealth. He says the key benefits of journaling have been keeping track of goals, reduced anxiety, and getting "from the day" instead of "getting through the day." He notes the good & bad of what happened that day and his daily interactions so that he can continue to learn & grow.Nick will do BIG THINGS in life due to his willingness to have uncomfortable conversations, he looks for ways to expand his comfort zone, and prepares for opportunities as well as anyone I've coached. His fiancé, Alexis, was also a Division I athlete. She lives in Cypress, Texas, and attended the lesser NSU (Northwestern State University). This is a fun discussion. Please enjoy!

We have been able to pull together a show rather quickly today as we feel this topic is of the upmost importance! Jennifer Riley-Collins, Executive Director of the ACLU of Mississippi, will join us to discuss the lawsuit ACLU of Misssissippi has filed today against the State of Mississippi specifically HB1523. Ms. Riley-Collins is a native of Meridian, MS. She is a 1987 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Alcorn State University. In 1993, she earned her Masters of Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Central Texas in one year while serving on Active Duty as a primary staff officer. In 1997, she returned to Mississippi after receiving a merit based scholarship and in 1999 received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law, graduating a full semester ahead of her classmates. Ms. Riley-Collins is an attorney licensed to practice in both state and federal courts. An advocate for quality representation and equal justice for all she has been a speaker both across the country on issues related to providing zealous representation to juvenile clients. She has coordinated the legislative advocacy efforts aimed at reforming Mississippi’s juvenile justice system and de-institutionalizing at-risk youth. Ms. Riley-Collins has studied and written about the Mississippi juvenile justice system. These are merely a few examples of the great work by Ms. Riley-Collins. We will discuss more on the show!
