When Chrysler revived its Pacifica badge for its reborn minivan in 2017, few would have imagined that a minivan would be Chrysler's only 2024 offering. Split across a plug-in hybrid powertrain and a traditional ICE powertrain, the Pacifica sticks with Chrysler Corporation's dedication to comfortably hauling people. Technically split further into the Voyager and Pacifica models, Chrysler's minivan ascends to near-luxury territory with the top-flight Pinnacle trim. Maybach-Esq pillows adorn the second row, and leather and soft-touch materials appear in droves. Sitting atop the Pacifica hierarchy, the Pacifica Pinnacle is also available with the 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar under the hood or the 3.6-liter Pentastar that works with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. With PHEV power the Pacifica can move over 30 miles on battery-only power and can manage around 540 miles of range per tank of fuel.  On this episode of Quick Spin, Autoweek's Patrick Carone hops behind the wheel of the 2024 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV and puts it through its paces. Carone takes you on a guided tour of the Pacifica and highlights some of his favorite features. Later, Carone takes you along for a live drive review of this Chrysler minivan. Adding to these segments, Carone chats with host Wesley Wren about the Pacifica, the state of the minivan, and Chrysler's current lineup. Closing the show, the pair break down what makes the Pacifica special.

Are unpopular and sorta strange cars really actually good? That's the question this week's episode is pursuing as our hosts drive some weird and wonderful cars that have had a bad reputation in the past. First up Benjamin drives the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, aka "the sexy Prius." With 44 miles of all electric range, the Prius Prime is no longer the geeky favourite of Leonardo DiCaprio, but a surprisingly good looking, functional car that isn't too bad to drive, or so Benjamin says. Listen the whole segment to get his final say, not to mention a fun tangent about other phevs that disappeared over the years. Then Sami brings up the 2024 Kia Carnival, which played dad van duties when his extended family dropped in. With tons of tech, space and cool powered second row seats, the Carnival should be a hit with families, but Sami says the Korean minivan has a fatal flaw which may make it fall out of favor with those looking for a three row superstar. On the other hand, Benjamin's recent moving experience with the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV suggests that you don't need a family to thoroughly test a van, especially one as efficient as this particular hybrid. Thanks for listening! See you all next week!

John dives into the topic of minivan sales and the potential for a revival in the market. The discontinuation of certain minivan models, such as the Ford Transit Connect and Nissan NV200, is discussed as is the increase in sales for the Chrysler Pacifica. Of course, everyone should know John's love of the minivan and he emphasizes the practicality and affordability of minivans, arguing that they are a better choice for transporting cargo and people compared to SUVs. He tried to avoid the topic but the potential impact of an upcoming market-changing electric minivans was touched upon.No Driving Gloves WebsiteBuy us some Gas (a coffee)00:00 John Are we going to talk EVs? No, we're not. Well, we talked the UAW strike. Everybody else's. You didn't come here to hear more about the UAW strike and non-Evergreen content. You want new stuff, stuff you can listen to any day. Whatever. Wait till you hear the largely mini topic that we dive into.00:30 announcer Gloves are off. Welcome to the authority in car talk. No driving gloves. From exotics to hot rods to I'll get to it someday. Experience knowledge and controversy all right in the same suit. Buckle up and hang on for the ride. Now for your host of no driving gloves, John Fibiani.01:00 John We're enjoying a fine day. The weather's turning. Getting to be some good car driving weather out there. And I thought we should talk about a subject that's passionate to me. Something that just gets every car guy. It just strikes a mood with every car person. We've talked about them before here on No Driving Gloves. And like I said in the intro, we're not going to talk EVs. We're going to talk a potentially new and upcoming segment in the automotive industry. We're going to talk about the minivan. How the sales have kind of contracted, but we're looking to see potentially an explosion. An article came across my desk, and this might be one vehicle that really lights up this segment. And OK, it's electric. But if it lights up this segment, there's a lot of other vehicles that, you know, jump to mind that this will affect. I can't believe some of the stuff that's happened in the minivan realm lately. The fact that Ford discontinued the Transit Connect, that Nissan discontinued the NV200. Mercedes, well, I can understand Mercedes discontinuing the Metris, great vehicle, just kind of way out of its price. Even the sales that the Ram Promaster City, it has lost some of its sales. And it's also on, you know, after 23, all of those vehicles are gone. And it doesn't make sense. You look at the numbers and they chop those and the sales transfer and the sales transfer. Yeah, they declined a little bit with covid. And yeah, there's the shipping logistics and you might want to consolidate the world. But Ford has one of the best on the pro level packages available in the F-150 and vehicles like that. And I think the the Transit Connect would lend well to even going to a hybrid or electric city delivery vehicle like it should. And you could bring in and bring some of the Ford software, pro software. But even looking at the minivans that are currently on the market in the U.S. sales, there has been a decline with some. There has been an increase with others. I mean, the Chrysler Pacifica 2021 to 2022, 23 percent increase in sales. 143% increase in market share. The Toyota Sienna, the Honda Odyssey, both have decreased in sales. The Toyota Sienna is probably one of the best minivans out there. But you have to look at pricing. And the Pacifica is still the affordable leader in this. It's a family buying this. And a married couple with two kids or three children Their budgets are limited, and going out...

We move into the world of enthusiast and collector cars as we welcome Mitch Scher, CEO of Drive Down. Mitch pulls back the curtain on his innovative online marketplace and shares how his unique pricing algorithm and proxy offer system are revolutionizing the car buying process. He also gives us insights into DriveDown's selective car acceptance approach and their value-adding marketing techniques, offering a different perspective on how to obtain a collector car. We shift gears and take a look at the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan. From exploring the four available trim levels and the hybrid powertrain option to dissecting the features of the Pinnacle trim level model. We also delve into the impressive 500-mile range of the hybrid version and look at the base model price of $37,270, going all the way up to the higher priced trim level base model of $59,995. As we coast towards the end of the episode, we open the floor for a discussion about everything from high schoolers building solar cars in an upcoming episode to the cost of organic groceries at Whole Foods. I'm part of the AMMO program, and since joining, I've sold $2,200 worth of books through my Shopify store and 103 books through Amazon for an additional $384.Jody J. Sperling is a long way away from a full-time author, and (yes, I'm referring to myself in the third person) he's progressing toward the goal. If you're a person who wants to achieve full-time author status, and you have a handful of published books, it might be time to check out Author Marketing Mastery through Optimization (AMMO) for yourself. Click here to see what AMMO is all about.Drive More SalesWe're going into ultra experimental territory, so this episode may serve as a wait-and-see for authors who don't want to chase every whim, but it might also be a phenomenal opportunity to get two birds flying with one gust of wind.A while ago, I had an idea to reach out to my local town and tug their heartstrings to buy my book, but the more I've seen how the real world works, the more I recognize no person is willing to act unless given sufficient benefit to do so.Sometimes sufficient benefit is charity and the self-satisfaction it delivers to the person taking action. Often times the sufficient benefit is a moment of pleasure greater than the previous state of being. For example, I listen to a lot of podcasts, and the ones I enjoy the most have such a positive impact on my emotional wellbeing that I am willing to buy—or almost buy—products the hosts read ad copy for.I'm not sure if Dax Shepard ever owned a Chrysler Pacifica or not, but he read ad copy for them for months, and when my family was shopping for a new minivan, I could hardly resist the urge to buy that van.But if you ask me to listen to a podcast about beauty products, it doesn't matter how good of friends we are. I'm not going to listen to that show. I might play it in the background—maybe—if I feel I owe you one, but good luck getting me to engage. It would have to be a transcendent moment where I heard something on the beauty products podcast to flip my script.I have had my script flipped before, but it is so rare as to be statistically insignificant. For example, you all know the wonderful and talented Xe Sands narrated my audiobooks. I had the wonderful fortune of speaking to her about my book, and we had a great conversation. She's a delightful person who shares many of my values and interests. So when she began talking about loving podcasts, I all but demanded a list of her favorites. She graciously provided a list of more than twenty shows she's binged, and so, later that day, I started working through the list she'd provided. None captured my attention. To be fair, I didn't make it through the entire list, but if someone I admire that much, has that little sway over my actions, imagine how little sway you have over a person's actions when you are a stranger to her.If you're feeling a bit concerned and even slightly hopeless thinking about that, I want to assure you, you aren't hopeless. Eye-opening moments lead to revelations, and that's what happened for me, so I want to share my idea with you.Right now it's in the lab. I've taken it into the world with a few people, and I'm waiting for results, but in the meantime, you can adapt it for your needs if it seems like a possible fit.The Grand IdeaMy idea is to offer a book for a brew. This includes coffee, tea, beer, and even kombucha. I'm seeking to partner with area businesses, set up a table inside, and offer my book in exchange for a cup of tasty goodness.Once I have three to five businesses who will agree to run the promotion with me, I'll send a press release to KETV, The Omaha World Herald, and other local media outlets. In an ideal world, I'll drive a bonkers number of book sales and take home a small amount of profit from the adventure. In a realistic world, I'll have a modest number of book sales, break even on cost, and walk away with an elevated Amazon ranking that I can then reference in future marketing marketing materials.Different ToolsIf my goal with the Book for a Brew campaign was to make money, I'd have a rough time of it, I think. You'd have a tough time motivating enough people to buy a book at a profitable value after compensating the coffee shop or bar for the purchase of a beverage. But if I'm running an awareness campaign, I can put a ton of eyeballs on my novel by using the free TV interview and a few spotlights in the local newspaper.Instead of paying hundreds of dollars to be featured in an ad, I spend a few days creating a campaign, and a day or two selling books and rubbing elbows with local readers. I encourage readers to order the book on Amazon, and depending on the success of the event, maybe I hit bestseller status for a couple minutes.Once you hit a list, you can forever say Bestseller, and perhaps it doesn't catapult you into fame and fortune, but it does give you a strong lever to start pulling huge library sales. As Archimedes said, or maybe it was Henry Ford, “Give me a big enough lever and I can drive the Industrial Revolution. At the Time of This WritingI heard back from Hardy Coffee, and they are going to partner with me on the Book for A Brew event so that's one down, and two to four left to go.Now I have a new problem. What's the best way to collect money, drive sales, and connect with readers so I can keep them for the future. That's a problem for another day.Books for Brews and Why It's a Winning IdeaWe'll discuss book reviews as social proof in the journey to get our writings into libraries in a future episode, but for today, let's focus on the power of social proof when approaching libraries. At some point, you're going to grow beyond your local library and when that day arrives you'll need quick, powerful social proof that readers enjoy your books. Few ways will be better way than pointing toward an Amazon bestseller rating. But Amazon does want to make proof challenging, so you need to coordinate sales bumps with a frequent ranking check. Be ready to pull screenshots on a phone or laptop. When you've snapped your highest Amazon rating, attach it as an image (not a link) into an email designed to pitch libraries. If you can manage to hit the top of your category, even for a few minutes, you'll gain a significant boost in social proof with libraries. An Even Better BenefitRankings are amazing, but you know what's better? Community involvement that drives action is not just better, it's worlds better.Imagine if you ran a Books for Brews campaign in your local area and drove 50, 100, even a 1000 visitors to a coffee shop or bar. Leading with a statistic like that will make you a librarian's dream author. Because, what libraries need most of all is community engagement. If you can show a librarian your book moves people, and you package your request for a purchase with the offer of an in-person or remote reading event, you're going to see a spike in acquisition numbers.Stay Tuned…I've got one Books For Brews Partner. Let's hope this is just the start. I'll keep you posted, even if the results embarrass me.TRBM is a listener-supported publication. Yesterday was not just Star Wars Day. More importantly, it was our son Daniel Joseph Mullet's 11th birthday. I missed his first birthday ten years ago. Daniel and his three older brothers - Josiah, Elihu, and Solomon - were back in Ohio with Lauren, but I had gone back to my home state of Montana to look for better opportunities for work in the Bakken oilfield in the midst of the boom. As of this week, it's been a decade since I got that first real job in the Oil and Gas industry as a lease operator. But would I have gotten that job if Daniel had never been born? The startling thought is maybe not! Times were tough back then, and we really were not making ends meet. More to the point, I was not making ends meet. But we were kind of getting by, and also not really. All at the same time, we had a place to live and clothes and food. But it was not sustainable, and it was very uncertain, and we knew that. And the realization pained us. Then Daniel came along, and we were thankful. We wanted to honor the Lord with having children, but we were also feeling weak and vulnerable. Then with our fourth addition the pressure increased just enough that when the advice was given me by an aunt back in my home state out West to call my cousin Brent working in Williston and talk with him about better opportunities there, I jumped on it. Next thing we knew, I was there and looking for work, then finding it in short order. It took some months to find a place to live, but before we knew it we were buying our first home in Sidney, and trading in our Chrysler Pacifica for a Ford E350 because Evelyn was on the way. Now that I come to think of it, would Evelyn have been born in the first place had we not moved to Montana? And what about Enoch and John and Andrew? And would we be here in Colorado today, knowing all these fine people we have for friends? Maybe, but more likely not. Daniel Joseph, then, was a kind of tipping point. The Lord used the fact of his simply being in our lives to push us off dead-center, to get us to stop riding the fence, to nudge us just over the line into needing to up our game and think outside the box. Now here we are with me doing systems integration work, working seven days on and seven days off, mostly from home. But had we kept on just barely getting by, I don't see how this would be our reality. That is to say too that if there were an opportunity to do it over again, I would not trade our son Daniel for all the world, much less a little more comfort and the appearance of security. As it turned out, being uncomfortable pushed as to grow and expand our horizons, meeting new people and seeing new sights we otherwise never would have. With all the talk right now of Roe v. Wade being overturned, this is something young people who find themselves pregnant and scared need to hear. The Lord provides. God gives wisdom to those who ask in faith. Our Maker is also a Sustainer and Healer. "But He gives grace to the humble," it says. And in another place, "But He gives more grace." "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." Sometimes the answer is not a lower head-count and to cut back. Rather, sometimes the answer is to increase your carrying capacity and increase your capabilities. This too is one of the ways God uses children in our lives. But we have to recognize this blessing and relate to it as such to reap the benefit. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/garrett-ashley-mullet/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/garrett-ashley-mullet/support

We also cover our road trip to Indianapolis for the Crossroads Classic, get excited for Adepticon, and wish a very special birthday to a long-time listener and supporter of the podcast. Side note: We did have some audio issues with the end of the podcast, and it drops off rather abruptly! We apologize for the technical difficulties and we'll relate our shout-outs here: - Thanks to Family Time Games, Hangar 19, and everyone who made the Crossroads Classic IV possible. Kudos to all our friends, opponents, and fellow players. - A big shoutout to Dion Morales and Gold Squadron Podcast for streaming the event. - The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica for being an excellent rental van for the trip through inclement weather, aggressive traffic, and the most boring stretch of interstate in America. - And of course all of you listeners including those we got to meet in person this past weekend! Hope to see you all again soon! If you enjoy this content, please show your support by subscribing and sharing with your friends. This was clearly a question episode. In Part 1, we hammer out for sure what's more desirable - having a fast car that you can never truly drive to its limits, or a slow car that you can max in everyday life. We answer a question posted to our Facebook, and discuss what aesthetic mods we see the most, and whether they're good mods or bad mods. Don't ask about the episode thumbnail though. Part 2 we talk about the philosophical question of whether we should be totally inclusive of car style (including Stance Nation) or whether some styles are forevermore unacceptable. Volkswagen's choice in new engine development gets talked about, and we discuss what makes a dealership experience great. We round out this week's episode with a boatload (carload?) of trivia, and the weekly mention of the ever-lovely Chrysler Pacifica. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/brokecarsnobs/message

Welcome to The Science of Storytelling, the podcast that explores the most unique and engaging content collaborations between publishers and advertisers.  This week on the show, we're chatting with Mike Rothman, CEO and Co-Founder of Fatherly. Mike has been the face behind Fatherly for over six years. He created the publication as a way of addressing the deficit that he saw in helpful content for dads in the digital age.  Last year, Fatherly partnered with Chrysler Pacifica for “The Family Car” campaign. The goal of the partnership was to take an out-of-the-box approach to buying a vehicle for your family by creating both practical (car seat safety tips) and tongue-in-cheek (looks dads give in the rear-view mirror) content. Eighty-one percent of Fatherly's readers with a child between the ages of zero and two had bought a car in the last year, which Mike says made the publication a perfect fit for the brand's goal of illustrating their family-friendly functionality. We spoke to Mike about how Fatherly came to be, their partnership with Chrysler and the importance of publishing content created by parents, for parents.   You can also read our latest post about this podcast here: https://www.pressboardmedia.com/top-50-fatherly-chrysler/  This podcast is brought to you by Pressboard: Connecting the World Through Stories.
