The Giants got through final cuts with depth at running back, tight end and the secondary, but the cost may be leaving some of their biggest questions unresolved. Center remains the clearest concern, while defensive-line and EDGE depth still make this roster feel unfinished.Follow on Spotify and leave a 5-star rating on Apple Podcasts if you enjoy no-BS Giants debate. Is the Giants' 53-man roster actually finished? Not if they are still looking for a potential challenger to John Michael Schmitz and were willing to explore another meaningful defensive-line addition after cutdown.Drew and Rob go position by position through the initial 53, the practice squad and the players who landed elsewhere. The offense kept Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston on the active roster with Jake Haener returning to the practice squad, while Najee Harris, Devin Singletary, Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. all survived at running back. Add Patrick Ricard and four tight ends, and John Harbaugh's preference for heavier offensive personnel is easy to see.But did the Giants protect too much depth in some places while leaving questions elsewhere? At wide receiver, Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney, Malachi Fields and Odell Beckham Jr. made the 53, while Braxton Berrios, Jalin Hyatt and Dalen Cambre returned on the practice squad. Hyatt clearing waivers and returning became one of the more revealing parts of the cutdown process. The offensive line creates the biggest concern. John Michael Schmitz remains the starter, Bryan Hudson made the roster and Lucas Patrick was released, yet New York was still reported to be looking for someone capable of challenging Schmitz. Evan Neal was also released, ending the former No. 7 overall pick's Giants tenure. On defense, C.J. Okoye made the roster after being acquired from Baltimore, but the Giants also reportedly showed interest in Gervon Dexter before Atlanta completed a trade for him. Brian Burns, Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux give the Giants a strong top three on the edge, but the depth behind them remains worth watching. The final question is the waiver wire. New York had the No. 5 waiver priority and made zero claims. If the Giants still wanted help at center or defensive tackle, was standing pat confidence in the roster—or a missed opportunity before Week 1?Merch: https://2giantgoofballs-shop.fourthwall.com/ Support: https://buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballs All episodes: https://2giantgoofballs.buzzsprout.comSend us Fan MailSupport the show

The Chicago Bears enter the 2026 season with major expectations after an 11-win season, an NFC North title and a playoff win — but the national media still has doubts. On today's episode of Chicago Bears Central, Haize & C-Dub breaks down the biggest questions facing the Bears heading into training camp.Which defensive position group needs to improve the most for the Bears defense to take a real leap in 2026? Is it the defensive line, where Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, Dayo Odeyingbo, Gervon Dexter and Shemar Turner have to generate more pressure and hold up better against the run? Is it linebacker, where T.J. Edwards, Devin Bush, D'Marco Jackson, Jack Sanborn and Ruben Hyppolite must prove they can bring speed and consistency? Or is it the secondary, where Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson, Malik Muhammad, Coby Bryant and Dillon Thieneman could determine whether Dennis Allen's defense shocks the NFL?Haize also reacts to fan voicemails asking how the Bears offense will fare next season, why the national media continues to doubt Chicago, and whether this Bears defense can become one of the surprise units in football. With Caleb Williams entering another year in Ben Johnson's offense, a dangerous run game led by D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, and young weapons like Colston Loveland, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, the Bears have the pieces to prove the doubters wrong.Topics include: Chicago Bears defense, Bears 2026 season preview, Bears defensive line, Bears linebackers, Bears secondary, Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, Gervon Dexter, Jaylon Johnson, Kyler Gordon, Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson, Dennis Allen, Bears offense, national media doubts, Bears news and rumors.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Now entering a pivotal second year with the Bears, he has a chance to prove he can still be a difference-maker next to Gervon Dexter, Neville Gallimore, Montez Sweat, Austin Booker, and the rest of Dennis Allen's defensive front.Haize also explains why bad run defense can make a pass rush irrelevant, why the Bears need to improve after allowing too many rushing yards and explosive runs last season, and why the current defensive tackle group still has major questions. Plus, we break down the Bears' 2026 salary cap by position and why Ryan Poles may not have as much flexibility as fans think. Can the Bears defense take a real step forward?
