In this episode I want to talk about your self-talk. The things you say out loud and the things you say to yourself in your head. If you want to reach your goals, if you want to have healthy relationships, if you want to manifest positive things in your life, it starts with changing your self-talk, the internal dialogue you have with yourself, and the things you say out loud about yourself. Your self talk will make or break whether you stay stuck, or whether you grow as a person. Whether you just keep getting by, or whether you make progress on your goals and level up. Look we are leaders in our family and in our circles. Leaders don’t talk badly about themselves, even in seemingly harmless passing conversations. We have a commitment to our children. To teach them how to value themselves. To teach them self-love and self-confidence. To teach them how to create anything they want with their lives. I always say this, if you can’t do it for you, then do it for them. The Mama Miracle is about tapping into that love and devotion we have to our kids and using it as fuel to do whatever it takes to become better people, to live better lives. Sometimes we forget that all of the things we do to better ourselves, the personal development, the positive self-talk, the practicing good habits and having good consistent routines, all of these things are good for us and make our lives better, but by doing these things we are creating a model for our children, we are demonstrating to them that because we value ourselves, we see our own potential, we invest in ourselves in these ways. This gives them the permission and the model to value themselves, to see their worth, and invest in their lives too. Who are you? What is your purpose? How do you know if you’re fulfilling your purpose? You’re getting older every day that goes by, are you fulfilling your purpose? Are you living up to your potential? Your kids are getting older every day, are you parenting and raising them up the way you intend to? Woooo that question really gets me. Do these questions give you as much FOMO and anxiety as they used to give me, friend? I mean, you may be thinking, how the heck am I supposed to understand my purpose and all this deep philosophical spiritual stuff, when maybe you’re just trying to survive right now and maybe questions about identity and purpose are the last thing on your mind. Between me and you, I used to feel so anxious about the whole idea of finding my purpose, because I used to think that maybe I had only one purpose for being here, and what if I discovered my purpose too late? What if I never found my purpose? I thought that the only way to be truly fulfilled was to discover and live out my purpose, that I had yet to figure out what my one true purpose was. And then I heard something that totally changed my life, and changed how I view my identity and my purpose for being here. This idea has been totally driving the way I live my life now. I no longer feel anxious about fulfilling my purpose. I no longer have FOMO. And it’s about identity and this is what I’m going to talk to you about today. On this show I talk a lot about how we as moms have more power than we give ourselves credit for, how we have the power to create any positive change in our lives and in our family, and I whole heartedly know to the depths of my heart that this is true. I believe in you, whether or not you fully believe in yourself or the other people around you do, I believe in you, because I know some of the struggles that you face as a mom today and I know that you’ve been through stuff in your life that has made you strong and has taught you lessons. You’re where you are today because of what you’ve been through. I believe you are exactly where you need to be. As a mom especially, you have a fierceness about you that allows you to do anything you set your mind to, and I believe we can harness the devotion and ferocity inside of us to create anything in our lives. When mama decides that things are gonna change, watch out. Think about a time when you had enough of something in your life, and how resolute you felt for things to be different. Maybe since listening to this show, you’ve had those moments of a deep instinctual desire and commitment to change something for the better in your life, maybe it was your habits, maybe it was your relationships at home, maybe it was to take steps towards a personal goal, whatever it was, you can probably remember that moment clearly when you told yourself, “enough is enough,” and if you have had those moments since listening to this show, then this is wonderful and I feel like I’m fulfilling my purpose to help you find that inside yourself. But if you’re feeling fed up and frustrated with any area of your life that you feel stuck in, that you feel like you you’ve been trying to change but you’re not making progress, I want to talk to you today about why that is. I wanted to start off by reminding you of the power that you have inside of yourself to make any change you want to make in your life, to design and create the life you want to live, to overcome any challenge in your life, and to accomplish anything you want because you have to believe and accept that you indeed have that power if you want anything to happen or change in your life. If you’ve been trying to change your life or your family’s life, if you’ve been trying to get out of debt, or lose weight, or grow your business, or whatever it is, and you keep finding yourself back in the same situations over and over again, or you keep having the same arguments over and over again with the people in your life, I want you to know that there’s nothing with you, you’re not broken, or incapable, or lazy, I KNOW you’re not, you are someone who cares a great deal, and you work really hard, and you DO have everything you need inside of you at your disposal to create that change you want, so what gives? Let’s go a little deeper today and take a look. I’m so glad you’re here today, thank you for being here, you are so special to me, and I am so grateful to be mothering this generation alongside you friend. School has started back up for most of us moms with school aged kids, and there’s a good chance that your family might be doing distance learning, which means, you’ve just been dumped with a whole new set of challenges that’s probably testing you mentally, physically, emotionally, all the ways. I don’t know about you, but it feels like I’ve never been through anything more challenging in the sense that everything on my plate right now is forcing me to step up more than ever before, be more organized than I ever have been, be more patient with my kids and with the people around me, and work on my mindset when it feels particularly hard. Even if you’re not dealing with distance learning struggles yet, maybe you are in the throws of sleepless nights taking care of a baby, maybe you are dealing with teenage challenges, maybe you’re experiencing tension in your marriage. Today I want to discuss gratitude, because it’s likely that if you’re listening, if you’re someone who is into personal development, I’m guessing that you already practice some kind of gratitude routine, you might have a morning or evening routine where you write out what you’re grateful for, you might incorporate gratitude into prayer, or if you use my daily worksheet, The Mama Miracle, then of course, you’ll find that there’s a section in there where you identify what you’re grateful for and what you welcome more of in your life. Gratitude is a powerful mindset that can help us attract and create the life we want, or that we can move into whenever we’re feeling lack or feeling negatively about the challenges of motherhood or the challenges in our life in general. But, did you know there’s a way that we sometimes sabotage the benefits of being grateful? Alright hear me out. Have you ever noticed when you’re trying to feel grateful about something, that immediately after having a thought of gratitude, the very next thought is one of worry that the things you are trying to be grateful for might be taken away, or that you don’t deserve the thing you’re trying to be grateful for, or, do you ever feel like you shouldn’t have the thing, because you know that there are other people out there who don’t have it as good as you do, who aren’t as blessed as you are? Perhaps you’ve never noticed until now that you do this. Alright so I’ve said enough for now, but that’s what we’re going to talk about today and I’d like to leave you with some thoughts that will hopefully free you from any kind of possible negative side effects from trying to focus on gratitude and allow you to potentially experience true joy that comes from feeling truly grateful and here’s the key world, abundant. Today I want to go a little deeper with you and talk about ways in which you might be able to grow as a person. Are there areas of yourself, your personality, your habits, your skills, would you like to fine-tune in order to grow as a person and get to the next level? See this is what personal development is. It’s about actively seeking out ways to be a better version of you. And this might be very uncomfortable at times. Growing requires us to get uncomfortable. But facing the parts of yourself that are uncomfortable to look at is free-ing, and allows you to expand, to deepen your relationships, to do more things and experience life in a whole new way. And so it’s really important that we’re always working on personal development, this is a process that should never stop, because the good news is, we can get better in any area of our lives, no matter how long we’ve struggled with any particular area of ourselves, because we have unlimited potential as human beings. Your family needs you to keep working on yourself, I always say this, when you work on yourself, you are doing the world around you a favor, you are setting a wonderful example to the next generation, and you are helping to make the world a better place. So today, I want to help you develop a personal strategy for growth and present to you 3 things that might stall this process for you, this is really important to be aware of so that you can overcome whatever might stop you from busting through your personal ceilings and becoming your best self. You’ve probably noticed that the phrase as “self-love” has kind of been popularized on the internet in the past few years or so. I think that we’re definitely moving into a generation that understands that beating yourself up or living with self-guilt or just generally feeling bad about yourself, does not help you better yourself. Because in order to truly become the best version of yourself, and get to the next level, and achieve more, you have to begin with loving yourself first and accepting yourself just where you are.
