“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” —Albert EinsteinJames 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.I hope to I declare.CONSISTENCYTHE DECLARATION“This year, with God's help and the power of the Holy Spirit, I declare I will be a PERSON of CONSISTENCY, because TRANSFORMATION happens when I do consistently what others do OCCASIONALLY.”Are you consistent in the RIGHT THINGS?1 Timothy 4:7–8 MSG Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.Romans 7:15, 18–19 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do…For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.FOUR WAYS TO GROW IN CONSISTENCY1. Start SMALLSMALL things done consistently beat BIG things done occasionally.Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.2. Don't GIVE UP when change is SLOWGalatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.3. Plan for FAILURE not PERFECTIONIf your aim is PERFECTION, when you mess up you'll GIVE UP.Planning to fail doesn't mean you EXPECT TO FAIL.It means you already know what you're going to do to GET BACK ON TRACK.The ENEMY is after your CONSISTENCY.Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.4. Fall in LOVE with the PROCESS“New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results.”—James Clear“Success isn't when you achieve a goal in the future. Success is when you honor God today.”—Craig Groeschel Transformation happens when you do CONSISTENTLY what others do OCCASSIONALLY.CHALLENGE: What's one thing I can do to become more spiritually consistent?Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another…“This year, with God's help and the power of the Holy Spirit, I declare I will be a person of consistency. Transformation happens when I do consistently what others do occasionally.”
Happy new year It's January, and you may be thinking about bringing some order to the chaos that the holidays brought to your sleep routines. I'm sharing a from the archives episode on getting back on track after the holidays. I want you to feel ready to reclaim your normal rhythms or look ahead to new routines, and I hope this episode helps. In this episode, I'm sharing some ideas for where to start as you work back to your regular routines, or try to establish new rhythms. This is a good time to keep things simple and also check in to see if your little's needs have changed in the midst of the holiday season. It's also a good time to remember that consistency, time, and patience go a long way to reestablishing good rhythms and routines and the lack of consistency is one of the ways we get off track over the holidays (for a good reason of course). Jay sits down with Rob Dial for a powerful conversation about discipline, purpose, and why so many people stay stuck even when they know exactly what they should do. Rob reframes discipline not as punishment or pressure, but as an act of self-respect, explaining why choosing discomfort today is often the deepest form of self-love. From building consistency to reshaping identity, he reveals why real change has nothing to do with motivation or willpower, and everything to do with designing a life where doing the right thing becomes automatic. Drawing from his own journey, Rob shares hard-earned lessons on following curiosity, embracing failure, and staying consistent long before results appear. He challenges the idea that purpose is something you “find” all at once, offering instead a more grounded path—one built through action, experimentation, and committing fully to the season you’re in. Together, Jay and Rob explore how fear, past pain, and self-judgment quietly hold people back, and how small, imperfect steps can begin healing old wounds while building confidence, competence, and momentum in the present. In this interview, you'll learn: How to Build Discipline When Motivation Disappears How to Stay Consistent Even When You Fall Off Track How to Focus on One Habit for 100 Days How to Design Your Environment for Better Habits How to Turn Discipline Into Self-Love How to Not Quit Even When You Don’t See Results How to Make 2026 Your Best Year by Doing Less, Not More Focus on what you can control today. Do one thing well. Create habits that support the person you want to become, and be patient with yourself as you grow into them. The Rams are coming off a really tough loss in Carolina, and now have to travel to Arizona (the place that hosted them during their last playoff win against Minnesota). While it'll feel like home and will bring back good memories for a moment, this team needs to step on the gas vs. the Cardinals. No excuses, just go out and dominate. The Cardinals have been playing good football as Jacoby Brissett is trying to remain a starting caliber QB in this league, and Jonathan Gannon is coaching for his job. Will McVay, who has been dominant vs. Arizona, remain dominant? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. GoVols247's Patrick Brown and Ryan Callahan get you ready for Tennessee's game at Kentucky with a preview of the matchup between the Vols and Wildcats in Lexington. First we react to the first availability report of the week, which included Tennessee leading tackler Arion Carter? Why is the linebacker on the injury report and what are his chances of playing? Who would need to step up if Carter is sidelined this week? Then we discussed Kelsey Pope's comments about Tennessee's top wide receiver trio playing so many snaps, Josh Heupel saying the Vols will continue to rotate on their offensive line and the play of the red-hot DeSean Bishop. Finally we previewed the matchup with Kentucky. The Wildcats are just 2-4 and winless in SEC play and Mark Stoops is on the hot seat, but they just took Texas to overtime (and should have won the game) and earlier played Ole Miss tough in another home game. Why should Tennessee be concerned and confident? Patrick admitted is he down on the Vols, but not out. Should he be? Ryan gave his take on a maddening Tennessee team that has talent, spirit and a certain relentlessness about it, but is also so mistake-prone.
