On this week's episode of Kickin' & Streamin' Podcast, Graham & Jocelyn discuss how Netflix has arbitrarily canceled some of its greatest original shows. The two co-hosts focus specifically on 5 original series which the streaming platform has either canceled, or announced it will not renew for another season. We begin by lamenting the cancellation of Tuca & Bertie, starring Tiffany Haddish, Steven Yeun, and Ali Wong, after a one season run. Next Jocelyn & Graham moved on to one cancellation which has hurt them the most; which happened about two weeks ago when Netflix announced it would not renew The OA for a third season. The OA is very special to our podcast and if you're a new follower, you can find our special episode "Deciphering The OA" which is episode 13. Jocelyn has been a vocal supporter of The OA on Instragram as she spearheaded a #SaveTheOA campaign which has been joined by several thousands of Instagram followers. The conversation continued on to the cancellation of Friends From College, a fantastic little comedy starring Keegan Michael Key, Fred Savage, Billy Eichner, Annie Parisse, and Cobie Smulders (Robin from HIMYM). Next we talked about the cancellation of the show One Day At A Time; which was revived as a Latin family with Rita Moreno as the coolest Abuela in the world, Justina Machado as a single mother and war veteran raising a family while dealing with the wounds of war. Jocelyn & Graham expressed their relief as they learned the show was picked up by Pop TV. The last cancellation was that of Jessica Jones. Jocelyn theorized the cancellation of all the Netflix's Marvel shows might well be the streaming platform anticipating it might be forced to give up the rights to those series once Disney Plus is up and running. Graham loves Jessica Jones, like he really loves Jessica Jones. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/rss/kickinandstreaminpodcast?auth=QVLr3ZF4bBkffNZls4lBWTuUc2Tb0MD0)

The Brothers Brotastic have been on a bit of a hiatus due to sickness and holidays, but they are back!! Right out the gate they tackle an issue with the British Film Institute saying no to scarred villains. Bad news for James Bond films. Also Daredevil's Cancellation, as well as the bevy of streaming services; are there too many? Philip and Andrew welcome each other back from Thanksgiving break and recall the holiday as both pleasant and not so pleasant. Some people got sick. Next up, some of the movies they have seen since the last show, Halloween, The Meg, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald. Philip enjoyed Halloween and The Meg. Andrew thought Fantastic Beasts was okay, but did not stand on its own. The BFI announced that it will no longer fund movies that depict the villains with scars. They feel that real life scar victims shouldn't live with the stigma of being evil just because they have a scar. Philip and Andrew both understand this issue, but Philip has an issue with BFI making that choice for the filmmaker. Both the brothers however do see that it might be off-putting to be a scar victim and any time you see a person who looks like you in film, its a villain. BFI also announced they are funding a movie starring a real life burn victim in a roll about scars. Netflix cancelled Daredevil, and both Andrew and Philip feel like that was the final nail in the coffin for Netflix's Marvel shows. Luke Cage and Iron Fist got the boot about a month ago, but they also were not as successful as Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Will they live on with their current actors? Or will they be recast and rebooted later? Finally, Streaming services!! So many!! Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, CBS All Access, DC Universe. But then, Warner Media is planning a service, Disney is planning a service. More are sure to be on the way. Is it really cutting the cable if you subscribe to 8 or more streaming services? They don't have 2 year contracts like cable and satellite services have, so there is that. Until next time, We'll see you at the movies. And don't forget to check you ticket stubs.

Hey guys, it's been a rough week. So instead of filling this intro with some sort of witty small talk, we're just going to ask that you head over to iTunes and review/rate the show if you like what you hear. We love you. NEWS HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK: "The Walking Dead's" Season 8 finale and Season 4 premiere of "Fear the Walking Dead" — aka the series' first-ever crossover episode — will hit 750 theaters nationwide on April 15 in what Fathom Events is calling "Survival Sunday" Thanks to the success of "The White Queen" and "The White Princess," Starz has put the third installment into production. Based on Philippa Gregory's series of books, the newest series is "The Spanish Princess" which "returns viewers to the world of royal court intrigue as seen uniquely through the perspective of the women, but also sheds light on a previously untold corner of history — the lives of people of color, living and working in 16th century London." Hulu is developing a series about the "Satanic Panic" of the late '80s and early '90s. The series is called "Demons," and according to THR, the drama will "revolve around Marilyn Jones, the seductive "patient zero" in the frenzy surrounding satanic ritual abuse, and her husband, Bennett Lewis, a brilliant but manipulative psychiatrist. In success, each season of Demons would explore a twisted crime affected by the couple's dark exploration into the fragile nature of memory and guilt." MTV is expanding its "TRL" franchise to add late night and morning editions of the program. Nerdist reported on a rumor that FOX may be interested in rebooting "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Of course, it's just a rumor but would this even be a good idea? QUESTION: After watching "Jessica Jones" and "Daredevil's" sophomore seasons, I have to wonder, Is there a Season 2 curse for Netflix's Marvel shows?
