We're finishing up the Minish Cap where we discuss how long it's been since we've seen Vaati in a Zelda game, how many whirlwinds we go through, and the intricacies of having a figurine collection. The next game we'll be playing is Four Swords (1) for the Gameboy Advanced which can be found on Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass.ko-fi.com/ironbootsdeepdiveSend us an email at ironbootsdeepdive@gmail.comTwitter - @IronBootsDiveCredit: Marble Pawns - Music
We had to shift our schedule just a bit, but that's resulted in us having not one, but TWO banners of heroes to go over. We kick things off with a new Resplendent Hero for FEH Pass subscribers, plus a bit of a maintenance update with Version 7.6, and the Mid-Point celebration. Moving into the banners for our episode, first up we have New Heroes & Mythic Heiðr, then move over to the first batch of Summer Heroes with Summer Longing. Before we close out the show, we visit the Outrealm Gate to discuss the soon to be launched GBA game Fire Emblem on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass.
Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We've got the whole crew in the house once again and a whole bunch of video game goodies to discuss, so let's get right into the action! We get things started off with a bunch of the online multiplayer gaming that we've all been doing lately, both together and independently. From there, Kevin takes some time to revisit the Super Mario Bros. 3 remake on the Game Boy Advance, before diving into a whole bunch of the Sega Genesis classics (and hidden gems) that are available via the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass. Finally, Randall closes things out with some various thoughts on Nintendo's recent closure of both the 3DS + Wii U eShops, including a handful of snags he made at the last minute... Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We've finally got the trio back together this week — and it's been a little while since the last recording session — so we've got ALL sorts of video game goodness to dig into... John takes the lead this week with some of his early impressions of NieR:Automata on Nintendo Switch, after previously presuming it would be yet another game he wouldn't get to play thanks to console exclusivity. From there, Randall & Kevin dig into all sorts of retro gaming goodies after spending a full day hanging out in Michigan, hunting down hidden gems, and classics alike, to add to their collections! Finally, we wrap things up with some of the N64 multiplayer action that John & Kevin were getting into on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass, while Kevin was recently back in Chicago. ey all—it’s certainly…been a while since we released an episode, and for that we truly apologize. The Press Pause Radio staff has been contending with a “Life comes at you fast” sort of deal the last two months and well, we went on an unplanned hiatus. The good news is that we’re back, and not only are we back but some of the new production equipment we’ve been teasing over the past year is here! Aside from a few remaining parts and software, we’re finally ready to start regularly producing video content again, and we couldn’t be happier. Speaking of budgeting for the future, in this episode we gather around with wallets in hand to talk about current subscription-based pricing models for the online features offered from the big three console platforms—the PlayStation Plus series, The Xbox GamesPass selection, and Nintendo Switch Online/Expansion Pass. Join Andrew, George, and Sean as they debate the advantages and disadvantages of each service while clutching at our Savings Account, and try to land on which service gives you the most bang for your space bucks here on Press Pause Radio episode 143! Mail us at our new email Mailbag@presspauseradio.com, leave a voicemail at 469-PPR-TALK, and be sure to stop by at our Forums if you haven’t already registered and post your thoughts about the show. Finally, make sure to rate and subscribe to us on iTunes and YouTube, follow us on Twitch page and Twitter, and finally take part in our Facebook and Steam group!
Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We're missing Randall this week, but the duo of Kevin & John are back together again to talk all sorts of video game goodness, so let's get right into it... Kevin kicks things off with by diving into a handful of his favorite entries from this year's GMTK Game Jam, including a few from our pals in the Discord! From there, John dives into a couple of Nintendo 64 games that he's been playing on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass lately — including 'importing' the Japanese-only Custom Robo games for the first time, and digging into some multiplayer madness in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. With the multiplayer ball already rolling, Kevin & John dig into a handful of games that they've played together recently, both online and locally, with some of our pals and bandmates! Nintendo has announced that Wave Race 64 will be joining the Nintendo Switch Online service on August 19th, for those who have the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscription. You might remember Wave Race as one of the most iconic Nintendo 64 games to launch on the system back in 1996. While Nintendo hasn't detailed the future on N64 games on the service, this is a great next addition to the lineup.
Jocelyn returns to the inn this week, with Ryan sharing his adventures in Rogue Legacy 2 and the latest additions to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass. Complete with wireless N64 controller nostalgia! Moving into the news, we made sure to save the Dead by Daylight Dating Sim story for Joce, plus Xbox is looking to enter the streaming dongle business. Oh, and Star Wars Celebration gives us a glimpse at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Solo episode with your favorite person on planet Earth. I droll over Hogwarts Legacy, go over hardcore gaming getting more and more mainstream, Nintendo actually making Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass worth the money after-all, and than get into what I'm playing which includes Rudy's favorite game of all time!
NF & CJ discuss whether the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass is really worth it, and in our case, it'd cost us $80/yr. We discuss how it started versus how it's going, what Nintendo got wrong, what's still wrong, as well as what they got right & convincing factors. In a later discussion, we'll also touch on what this could spell for the Nintendo Switch's successor. Thank you for considering our thoughts on the matter, your support means an immeasurable amount; we appreciate our listenership very much!
