We've reached the end of our series on the chapter of Romans 8 and it's time to add the final ingredient to our theological sandwich. Paul begins this chapter with the idea that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, and ends with the profound promise that there is no separation from the love of God. We are held securely in His hands, never to be taken away. Paul was convinced of this truth, but many of us wrestle to believe it, especially when trouble, hardship, suffering, and fear make God feel distant. Today, we'll discover why the love of Christ is stronger than anything that threatens to separate us.
Today we conclude season 3 with Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas as we read "How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home," Chapter 11. Chris Stigall welcomes Kathie Lee Gifford for an intimate Easter conversation on faith, her storied career—from Regis Philbin co-hosting to Today Show mornings—and her passion for biblical truth. Kathie Lee shares her journey from entertainment to deep rabbinical study, emphasizing the unity of Old and New Testaments as one story of God's love. She discusses her new book Nero and Paul: How the Gospel of Grace Defeated the Ruler of Rome, juxtaposing Nero's depravity with Paul's transformation and the triumph of grace. Kathie Lee critiques legalism, bad translations, and cultural division, urging authentic study of original Hebrew/Greek texts. She reflects on Jesus as architect/stone mason (tekton), the importance of never separating spiritual from secular life, and living consistently in Christ's love. The episode closes with "Faith and Freedom 250," honoring Christian leaders who shaped America's moral foundation across history.00:00:00 - Introduction and Easter Greeting00:00:30 - Kathie Lee Gifford Introduction and Career Overview00:01:14 - Personal Fan Connection and Faith Journey00:02:21 - Morning TV Intimacy and Regis Memories00:03:17 - Fun, Friendship, and Legacy with Regis00:04:22 - Transition from TV to Writing and Faith Focus00:05:04 - Rabbinical Study and Bad Translations Critique00:06:07 - Unity of Old and New Testaments00:07:19 - Jesus in Old Testament Prophecies00:08:21 - Evil's Constant Presence and Book Series00:09:04 - Writing Process and Collaboration00:10:02 - Nero and Paul Book Overview00:11:13 - Origin of "Christian" Term00:12:20 - Tekton Translation and Jesus as Builder00:13:26 - No Separation of Spiritual/Secular Life00:16:41 - Nero's Evil vs. Paul's Transformation00:20:35 - Legalism and Dogma Rejection00:21:41 - Entertainment and Faith Integration00:23:44 - Closing Thanks and Easter Blessing00:25:30 - Faith and Freedom 250Follow The Lion on Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube. No one likes to fail. We tend to take it very, very personally, don't we? Satan sees a real opportunity when we fail. He loves to whisper in our ear words of condemnation! Loser! You can't accomplish anything! But God on the other hand wants us to hear His truth at such times! That truth is this - He cannot fail. He won't leave you, and nothing can separate you from His love! "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing it will be; when we all see Jesus we'll sing and shout the victory." Although we sing this hymn in church with a note of triumph, many Christians may still be filled with fear and uncertainty at the thought of death. Dr. Barnhouse examines what the Bible teaches about the death of believers and the confidence that is ours in the love of God. Conjoined or Siamese twins often face death unless doctors can find a way to separate them. In contrast, believers would face eternal death if the devil could find a way to separate us from the Lord, but the love of Christ is so deep that nothing can ever separate us from Him when we are joined to Him by faith! Dr. Barnhouse shares these words of encouragement from Romans 8:35. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/791/29?v=20251111

This Resurrection Weekend, Pastor Tony Herring covers Romans Chapter 8 and talks about how God has been, is, and always will be able to "handle the truth" about our sin.
With the Saints in kind of a "holding pattern" in their HC search/awaiting the conclusion of the Super Bowl to announce the expected hire of Kellen Moore, a national news bombshell blew up right on the doorstep of Airline Drive. So, we touch on the recent church scandal email release, how it's different from the news that came out a few years back, and what it may mean (or not mean) for the team as a whole. Either way, we all agree, it's something the team should have never gotten involved in and really fouled things up once they did.Aside from that, we dive into another discussion of Saints 2025 draft strategy, especially after the conclusion of the Senior Bowl in Mobile. A quick look on who stood out from that week, whether it changes the prospects we like for the team. But overall, we focus in more specifically on who we each would like to ideally see the Saints go with at pick No. 9 and how that contributes to the efforts to re-build the roster and later picks in the draft. This one's definitely worth a listen. TUNE IN! WHO DAT?!
Are you ever accused of being unrealistic? Of simply having a positive frame of mind, saying in the face of all the evidence, in spite of the dangers and the evils in this life, that everything is going to be alright? Well, some Christians do think this way. But it's true, there really is nothing that can separate us from Christ. Tune in this week to the Bible Study Hour as Dr. Boice tells us that nothing will separate us from Gods love. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/81/29
