Fr. Mike points out that separation from God is not due to a lack of power or love on God's part, but is a consequence of our willful refusal to follow Him. He also highlights that despite our unfaithfulness, God always has a plan for reconciliation. The readings are Isaiah 59-60, Ezekiel 19, and Proverbs 13:9-12. Is it possible that our beliefs about God, church, and sin have been shaped more by history, culture, and trauma than by divine truth? In this Earth Xperiences episode, host Dani sits down with @this.cypher to explore one of the most compelling conversations yet around perception, presence, and power.Together, they unpack the difference between a God who rules from a throne and a God who walks with us. Justin Scott challenges modern Christianity, questioning whether state systems have distorted what it means to be spiritual, holy, or even Christian. Raised in a lineage of ministers, he speaks from deep personal experience while inviting radical questions.Do we need to understand state language to access God?Is judgment a human tool or a divine one?Why do churches often treat questioning as betrayal? How did Roman logic, famine, and empire thinking separate us from the God who made us whole? What does it mean to name your reality, and could that naming be a sacred power? The conversation moves through themes like spiritual capitalism, ancestral nervous systems, grief avoidance, and how empire logic devours mystery and presence. Dani opens space for exploring both reverence and rebellion, asking what it would look like to have a God who wants to cry with you, not control you. This episode invites anyone who has felt judged, abandoned, or confused by religious structures to return to the possibility of God's presence in every moment. Grief, joy, confusion, and clarity are all included.Questions explored in this episode include:Why do we confuse God's guidance with judgment? What is the relationship between capitalism and prosperity gospel? How can discernment help us reconnect with presence over fear?Did the Garden of Eden story represent a fall or a beginning? Are we misinterpreting sin and separation altogether?Whether you have been hurt by church, deconstructed your faith, or are simply exploring new ways of thinking about God, this episode offers language, questions, and revelations that just might feel like home.About the Creator:Justin ScottInstagram: @this.cypherTikTok: @cypher.jWebsite: https://cypherj.substack.com
What does it mean that hell is eternal separation from God? What exactly does it mean to be separated from God for eternity?
The result of sin brings a separation from God. A child of God cannot fall from grace or be separated eternally from the Lord, but if we are not careful we can be separated from fellowship with the Lord in this life.

Adam and Eve's awareness of their nakedness after sinning in the Garden of Eden represents the deeper reality of shame and separation from God (Genesis 3:7). Their immediate response was to cover themselves with fig leaves, symbolizing humanity's attempt to hide sin and shame without addressing the root cause. If America is to keep intact its God-given rights and liberties, then America must keep God at the helm -- it's just common sense. Remove God from "God-given" and there's a void. What happens is government steps in and takes over God's domain. Government becomes a sort of god to the people. God-given morphs into Government-given. And what government gives -- government can take. This is the root of all that ails in America right now. Rob Pacienza, faith leader and public speaker, has much to say about the need to keep God at the helm of society.
Separation From GOD
The Bible speaks openly about sin and various kinds of separation that it causes. One inevitable separation is called death - something that we all have to face. But there is also the eternal separation of the unsaved in a place of judgment - hell. Wonderfully, the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ comes between our sin and God. He has bridged the great separation of sin that keeps us out of God's heaven. We trust that today's broadcast will help you think seriously about this great sin problem and will direct you to the wonderful remedy that God has provided to bring sinners back to Himself.

Today, on the Good Lion Podcast, we explore the mysteries of sin, wrath, and the enigmatic concept of hell, a topic that stirs the soul and challenges the heart. How do we reconcile a God of infinite love with the doctrine of eternal punishment? What is hell? Is it merely a place, or could it be a present reality, as tangible as the air we breathe? In this episode, Aaron shares part of a lecture on sin and hell that was originally taught at the Good Lion School of discipleship with the goal of helping young Christians navigate these tumultuous waters. Through biblical texts and personal reflection, we explore the intricate dance between divine justice and mercy. Why would a loving God create a realm of eternal suffering? Is hell intended for humanity, or does its creation serve a different divine purpose entirely? And, are the flames of hell literal, or merely a metaphor? These are questions that haunt believers and skeptics alike. As we unpack these themes, prepare to be challenged, comforted, and perhaps even confronted by an issue we tend to avoid. Have you ever considered the sheer impact of Adam and Eve's first disobedience on humanity? Our continuing journey through Genesis 3 uncovers the heart of human fallibility, where personal accountability is lost in the blame game. We tackle the aftermath of the Garden of Eden incident, contrasting the evasion tactics of Adam and Eve with King David's model of repentance. The narrative reveals how their actions triggered more than a curse - it severed an intimate connection with God, an unraveling that speaks volumes about the human condition and our intrinsic need for forgiveness. Join us as we unravel these layered truths, seeking the wisdom and the way back to fellowship with God.Support the show

Matthew 25:31-46 // Ben BeasleyHell, in the Bible, is not some underground torture chamber. Hell is a place outside the city of the New Jerusalem, that God excludes because he wants to cast out the darkness for the light, to protect from the destruction of the fires of sin, and so the fullness of restoration will remain over destruction. God excludes sin and the powers of hell from his kingdom because of his goodness, and not in spite of his goodness. This ultimate reconciliation with God, this is the dream that we dream for our world. This is also God's heavenly dream for the world coming to earth. A real hell means there is real news to be shared. There is good news, and that good news is real: Jesus is here to reconcile you back to God. Take him up on it. Reach out, he won't let you go. Matthew 25:31-46 // Bill GormanCan we really believe in hell? In our cultural moment idea of hell is either something that humorous or abhorrent. But what do we do with Jesus teachings about hell? While it may not seem very Jesusy, Jesus spoke and taught more about hell than anyone else in the Bible. How do we make sense of his teachings? This is what we look at in this message. DAY 326 CHALLENGE “We know we can't lose our salvation by committing mortal sin because Scripture says we can't be separated from God (John 6:37, 39, 10:27–29, Rom. 8:38–39).” DEFENSE None of those biblical passages show that we cannot separate ourselves from God. John 6:37 states: “All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out.” Jesus will not cast us out, but that doesn't mean we can't leave Jesus voluntarily. John 6:39 states: “this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at t…

The short (and not - so -sweet answer) is... it didn't happen. We use our grievances, resentments, and blaming others to prove to ourselves that separation is not only alive and well... but not my fault.

Dr. C. Baxter Kruger is a world-renowned theologian who specializes in his knowledge of the Trinity and the idea of no separation from God. Growing up in the Bible Belt, Baxter says he always knew there was more to this gospel he grew up with and the missing piece was the relationship between the Trinity. Dr. Kruger has gone on to write many books, but today we talk about the idea that union with Christ is the most important aspect of the human condition.

Isn't it a wonderful thing that the most powerful, most awesome God of the universe is a God of grace? How dreadful it would be if He were a tyrant God or simply one who didn't care much about us or what is going on in our world. No, He is intimately involved with every detail of our lives and infinitely concerned about our destinies. As sinners, we could never draw close to God. We could never enter His kingdom or live in heaven with Him. But God has extended His hand of love and grace to us all. The ultimate expression of this was the giving of His Son to take the place of guilty sinners in order to save us. Yes, though we have sinned, God is FOR us. And He has taken the first step to reconciling us to Himself.
In this sermon, Pastor Clint looks at Romans 8:35-39. The chapter that began with no condemnation ends with no separation. Paul asks a final question -- Is there anything that can separate us from the love of God? Is there anything that I can face in this life that would serve as proof that God has abandoned me and forsaken me? Answer -- No, there is nothing or no one who can separate us from the love of God.

This week we talk about the sea that separates us from God, and what God's doing about it; Clive Cussler's take on the Titanic story — better than James Cameron's in my book; a pair of seas from the Bible and from our hymnbooks, one of which one may represent you; and the best scuba diving experience you will ever find that's made out of cardboard.
