Olaf Kolzig! "Ollie the Goalie" joins us! Great hockey interview with a great goaltender and Washington Capitals fan favourite. Kolzig played more seasons with the Washington Capitals than any other player in franchise history! He was the first Goaltender picked in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft and went on to enjoy a very successful 17 year NHL Career. He was twice named an NHL All Star and in 2000, Kolzig won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goaltender. He played in 719 NHL Games – all but 9 of them were in a Washington Capitals uniform, and is the only Washington Capital player to wear the number 37. He also has a very unusual personal background for an NHL player as he is a German citizen who was born in South Africa, raised in Canada but now works and lives in the United States. Great interview - enjoy! #hockey, #hockeypodcast, #hockeyinterview #nhlgoalie #nhlSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For episode 100 of Tendy Talk presented by the BLPA Podcast Network and The Hockey Podcast Network, I chat Vezina and King Clancey award winner, two-time Olympian and two-time All-Star Olaf Kolzig. It was a pleasure talking to one of the goalies I grew up watching. I think Olaf is an oftentimes overlooked goalie of the late '90s era despite being a consistently great goalie.
