True, the Eagles played like shit and the Lions did their classic "fail to put the other team away when you have a lead" routine. But still, a road win's a road win, right? Right? Actually, reading too much into the last two wins would be naive. Beginning to actually believe that this team might be better than we thought--that's a sign of psychosis. Which is exactly what Roar-Aholics Anonymous is for. We feel your pain and confusion, and we're here for you.

A special guest she's been with EXP almost since the beginning. Not quite as long as Brian Culhane who you've heard in his episode share his story about the founding of the company but Erinn has been in regional leadership. She's a successful high volume producer including a member of the CRS community. And Erinn is going to have some great insight to share with us today for agents looking to understand a little bit more detail why agents are coming over from other brokerages and joining EXP realty. Stay tuned for my interview with Erin Nobel. Welcome to the show Erin. ERINN: Kevin thanks so much. KEVIN: Well looking forward to our conversation now they're going to be plenty of people that listen to the podcast that may be not familiar with you. And from the Pacific Northwest. Can you take a minute and give a little bit of your history and background in real estate and also touch on the early days of the EXP because you've been around for a while haven't you? ERINN: I sure have. Yes. It's been a fun ride. That's for sure. Yeah I'd be happy to. So in a nutshell this is my 20th year as a residential real estate agent right here in Bellingham Washington where EXP was founded back in 2009. I have been practicing residential real estate here in Bellingham Washington since 1999 and made the leap over to EXP four years ago as agent number 337. We were only open in 18 states at the time and it was just kind of a wild ride. KEVIN: Erin when the company started and obviously you knew Glenn because he's from the same town as you and you were familiar with him from his days probably back at Keller Williams is what would make you even take a look at EXP I know you were involve CRS you you're pretty well-known the Pacific Northwest and you had a successful real estate practice. What were the drivers for you if you look back in the early days of the EXP. Because it's a different company now and I know we'll talk about that that caused you to even look at it initially. ERINN: Yes it's a much different company. For me it was really just the vision that Glen had and the future of what the real estate model really looked like after coming through the recession and building my business back up in 2010 11 and 12. I was just really identifying what some key factors that were not working in the business anymore. I was working at a small local boutique brokerage and it was very well branded here locally. But I noticed that clients were calling in and they couldn't even pronounce the name of the brokerage anymore. They were really trying to just identify an agent and we didn't have the agents in the spotlight. Were at the forefront. It was all about the real estate broker or that brokerage. So I just noticed a shift in the thought. How can I align my business and my skill set and be in the forefront and be able to attract clients that I want to work with instead of having them funnel through my brokerage model first. So I sat down with Debbie. She had just made the leap over the EXP from a large local real estate franchise here in the Pacific Northwest. She and I were actually originally licensed together back in 1999 and I had known for her for quite a few years obviously but she was telling me about this new business model EXP and how it really is promoting the agent at the forefront. It's empowering the agents and showcasing the agents in a way that I had never heard of before so she really lined me out with that. And we met together with Glenn for dinner and he basically took me through the entire story in the process of how EXP came to be how he had been working through Keller Williams and running mega teams throughout the Northwest here and I believe in parts of the Southwest as well. But he was looking to expand and trying to find a solution for an expansion team that would not only financially be beneficial for the agents but helped to scale his business and scale through a basically recession proof model. That's what he created and I thought my goodness he's really on to something here and I want to be part of this. I joined immediately that day. That was four years ago. KEVIN: What's interesting about we're EXP is today and you know your interview and part of that discussion would be well for people listening to go listen to the two part interview I did with Brian Culhane because Brian was in fact working with Glen in the Southwest US and had the big teams down in Arizona and the markets there and so I think he was the first agent call it the sort of the de facto co-founder in the early days and you know right in the beginning and forefront he talks a lot about everything from the name of the company being selected in a lot of the early thoughts. And so it doesn't surprise me. You and I have interacted a fair amount that you had enough vision for this especially with your passion around the agents you've been heavily involved in stress and it's a different company today. You know if you look at Jean-Frederic and he came in I think it was agent for 77 or something like that was when he came out and he came in a little bit after you. Not much. And you know it was just over three years ago at this point. So what's happened since then and I know I don't want to talk about your role as an RTL and working with lots of teams and brokers and people that are interested in the EXP to talk a little bit about the early days versus now because you talk about a new business model and being more agent centric the offerings and the value proposition is so much more robust today. It's so much more developed the systems the cloud all of the offerings are such. How do you see it playing out in other words you are an early adopter. You came in early there wasn't a lot if any of the systems that are in place today. In other words there was a vision and the company certainly was operating in a you know a handful of states 16 or 18 states at that point versus where it is now. And so what were your thoughts on that versus what if you were talking to somebody who's listening to this today you know in other words there are still people out there especially compared as they're saying oh there's still a startup company they don't have anything together in terms of systems. Absolutely. And I wanted to be part of that momentum. I saw an idea and I knew it was going to be big and I wanted to jump in fully and help out you know contribute in any way or form that they could. And we did that fully. My husband actually left a 20 year career at Microsoft to come over as CEO for the company to build out our enterprise system with Glenn. We just loved the idea of the company and the promotion of the company and doing it in the right way. But especially it's achieving that momentum now which has really shifted the company. Everybody is talking about the EXP Realty. It's kind of the local latest buzz because it is real. It's providing agents with agent ownership it's providing a way for agents to not only excel in the business but to get out of the business at some point and retire and have a nice lifestyle. That's the type of momentum that we wanted to be part of in the early days we didn't have the momentum right. It took a massive had turn Turner agent or many brokerage to come over to the model and join with the EXP to get some local attention. And the frenzy going that other people would identify with and start questioning hey what is this. You know I want to learn more. Now it's almost on a hourly basis with people reaching out to me asking questions wanting to learn more about the model and the interest is peeked. Let's just say that. Well absolutely. I mean it's one of those things where you know to give people some perspective you know you were talking about you know being in the mid 300 ads as far as Agent count. You know when Gene joined I think it's 37 months ago 37 - 38 months ago there were just under 450 470 agents. Texas had I think if I know the number correctly I don't have every one of these numbers memorized but they're either at 7 or 12 agents in the entire state of Texas. You know now we're at about 2400 in less than 38 or 40 months. And so you know what Erinn is talking about is a massive amount of momentum the company has built out you know for all intents and purposes the entire North American content from the standpoint of United States as well as most of the provinces in Canada. When you look at the operation the footprint is at the point now where even if an agent who is listening to this know somebody in Kansas or know somebody in Florida or even in British Columbia which is a recent addition to the EXP's footprint they have the ability like you talked about from a standpoint of referring them in and having them join. That is much broader than it was when you were involved in other words you could do things in Washington state you could do things in certain areas. But both from an MLS footprint and a state being opened it was very limited initially. So for any agent listening to this it's a whole different world now and I'm seeing a shift and I'm wondering what your perspective is on this Erin. And people no longer thinking about this as early adopters in other words not only are all the top brokers from a lot of the big franchises joining. It used to be it would happen you know last fall Jay Kinder joint right? And there was a huge amount of momentum generated by that at this point. It's almost weekly that somebody is joining from a big franchise because I think that the risk either perceived or actual In other words for a while it was perceived. And then from an actual standpoint they can look at it and if they do due diligence and I'm wondering if you're seeing this change in the perspective agents now if they'll actually look into the due diligence the risk is out of the switch at this point. There aren't a whole lot of holes in the value proposition that they may have heard about that even exist anymore. Don't you agree. ERINN: Yeah absolutely. KEVIN: Well let's talk a little about some of the stuff you mentioned from the standpoint where you use terms about you know coming into the real estate business people might be sitting in independent like you were or a big franchise and they're thinking God the only way on a bill to retire is to sell my business my team or build it up to a certain size and replace myself or I might be able to make enough gross commission income and net enough that I can buy properties. EXP is different than that. So let's talk a little about your perspective on that. I know you have this conversation from a wealth standpoint quite a bit. ERINN: Oh yeah absolutely. And that's where I really see the model shine. We've got a lot of mom and pop businesses out here in the Pacific Northwest that are seeing the shift in the model and the change. And agencies are not coming into the office anymore. And here they've got so much money invested in not only bricks and mortar but in a phone line that the fax and the copy machines for the office staff that's sitting there to support our agents who are not going into the office. So they're trying to find a new way to invigorate that business by offering some education basically any sort of new technology to offer lead generation to their agents. But all of these are piecemeal add on products that those broker owners are having to absorb. This is where you can come in and power that company. It's basically like a bolt on product to a brokerage and power that brokerage where they keep their own branding. So say it's you know Thompson real estate. It would be Thompson real estate with the EXP realty or brokered by experience. They're able to fully branding in place and intact because they worked so hard to build that brand in their local area and add on our EXP product essentially which they can then offer to all of their agents. We have a lead generation programs have groundbreaking technology programs that have transaction management tools. We have education easily accessible through our cloud based environment. We have mastermind's lead almost daily. It's just incredible for these agents to now be able to access its technology throughout their own brokers that they're already familiar with. And this is where I'm really seeing the future of the real estate models as we know it make the shift and adopt the EXP technology. KEVIN: Well certainly the interview idea with Mitch Ryback he talks about that right here. He had Tropical realty down in Florida and he was going to do a seven figure sale and then stepped back from that and went with the EXP to be powered by EXP instead. And one of the things in addition to the economics of the change he talks about the brand he talks about the tools you know things like Cavey core and Web sites. And what's interesting about it is he also touched on something that is sort of the dirty part of brokerage I don't mean that in a bad way but just what they don't like doing right. They like to wash our hands of this which is the actual brokering compliance the in and out of licenses the transaction management looking at the contract review making sure ENO is in order all of the stuff that so many people who have built up these independent brokerages just don't like to do. Now this also applies and I don't know if you've seen this but Gene and I haven't heard this from a lot of the rainmakers because there's a logical progression whether you're a big rainmaker for a team at a franchise or you're independent quite often. You know if they're at a brokerage their next step they start thinking about hey do I go out on my own. And what they haven't thought through is exactly that. In other words you can do it and then they look at how much was I paying in company dollar to my company. But when you start to pull back the curtain on all of the steps needed and all the staffing needed to do all of that sort of the dirty brokerage part the compliance pieces all of the admin stuff they haven't thought that through and typically from a behavioral style right these are driver personalities a profile and they don't even want to touch that stuff and so I know one of the things that I'm seeing and Gene is seeing when we're in meetings is the rainmakers and if you're a rainmaker and you're thinking that's your next step. This is probably something you want to look at because the economic model and the way you EXP sets things up in a team environment even a large team environment and even if you're in multiple markets right you're an expansion team. The tools that Erinn is talking about provide you with a great platform where you don't have to staff up and handle all of that admin stuff because that's just a cost center. There's no there's no real value or leverage in that side of the business is there. ERINN: No. No there really is. And one thing I really wanted to touch on which is one of the most common questions that I'm asked is how does EXP provide that type of support. How are we able to review transactions. How are we compliance. How does this work. And really what we've created is the perfect system for transparency between that broker or managing broker or broker owner and the agents. We've created a system that is completely paperless which is also obviously economically friendly and we're using sky slope transaction management to review each and every file that transaction that an EXP agent is party to. So the broker has complete access to these files checked for compliance. Make comments and no edit anything in there as necessary prior to the agents closing or finding that file. We've also created a system for agents to get instant or immediate access to help with any sort of transaction where they can reach out to their broker where they can reach out to the assistant managing broker in place and just have instantaneous help there's no more waiting in the office or your broker to be free or to get back from lunch. You just reach out it's simply either through the phone app or EXP world and get answers at your fingertips. I think it's just brilliant. KEVIN: The other part of all of that is from a system standpoint and agents are painfully aware if they're at a franchise locations for example and let's say they're on the East Coast right or the West Coast right. Here's the two examples. And you go do a walk through on your property and invariably something comes up and you've got to do an adjustment. Something wasn't fixed. There is something that is still a defect or something that was discovered. And now you're going to do a 5000 dollar price adjustment or some other thing like that that affects your D.A the ability to have the transaction and the accounting team available in the cloud is a huge game changer. Right. Imagine you're in the East Coast. You do your walk through at six thirty or 7 at night and you discover this. Now you've got an agreement you've got an amendment and a modification. There are accounting and payment people in the EXP cloud so to speak just to use basic terms that are going to be available there are going to be less cost people because as Erinn talked about we're on Sky slope and a common system nationwide the ability to affect that change to a contract in a DA and have you not have it turn into a scramble to text major broker at night figure out how to do this and get it done for the title company in the morning is a game changer for a lot of people now if you put that in the context of high volume for a rainmaker. That stuff happens every week every month right there doing enough volume that that stuff's happening regularly. Now an agent doesn't do a lot of volume may not have that happen but once a quarter or a couple of times a year. Now the rainmakers and the big players and we have a disproportionate amount of those higher volume players coming in the EXP are painfully aware of what a huge value this is and the system you're talking about Erin is huge. The fact that Sky Slope is available nationwide the staffing is available in multiple time zones and we're not anchored to an old school model of a bricks and mortar location is a game changer like you said most agents don't go into the office a emergency which somebody will go to the office might be to go get a DA fixed. If they had to and they hate it. ERINN: Oh yeah yeah. And it just allows you to have the opportunity to scale their own business. It allows EXP to scale and expand. And quite honestly if we need more help if our brokers are needing support we add brokers we add assistant brokers we've got people in place there to support our agents just through EXP crowd and our other technology. And it's just fantastic it's a tremendous system. KEVIN: Absolutely. So let's talk a little bit more about well from the standpoint of revenue share and equity because I know this comes up right. The reason I want to touch on this in general terms is there's so much disinformation out in the marketplace. I know this was a factor for you. You're one of the early people that came on you've had this conversation hundreds if not thousands of time about what does this revenue share and why would I even pay attention to it. Tell me a little about the equity awards. There's so much. Even today I saw something posted on social media this morning about stuff it's just plain inaccurate and it's based on old information. They're talking about the fact that you know this is pre NASDAQ listing and the fact that there's all sorts of issues. What is your answer about revenue share in terms of how you explain it and why it's a big game changer for agents. ERINN: Sure. I mean I look at revenue share as the company EXP paying me a referral fee for bringing great quality agents to EXP. It's as simple as that. And I can build my revenue share family my revenue share trade as deep and as wide as I want to by attracting quality agents that all they want to do is sell real estate. It's pretty simple. KEVIN: And that's a good way to put it. I mean one of the things that I tell people that have broad reach. In other words sometimes people will show up and they're pretty active in the training community right they attend events because of their franchise or otherwise they know lots of agents all over the country. You know I talk about this being no different the payment methodology is different but it is like a referral fee and you hit that on the head in terms of the way I explain it but it's almost like your a virtual region. In other words when you hear people talk about like Pat Hayes or Mitch Ryback or Gene their region I mean in the case of some of these big revenue share groups they're in thirty forty or fifty states. Some people are five to six states pretty quickly because they end up knowing agents and then those agents no agents in other markets. And it didn't matter if it was a relationship that was done just on social media or it's somebody from an old franchise that's in a different market. It's one of those things where you know we're certainly not looking for people to come in and like in my old role at Keller Williams I was a team leader right. I'm not looking for people to become a team leader right. We're looking for people and the way agents are doing this is the natural progression of their business right. Either the fact that they have relationships and they do referrals for transactions or they know people because of previous trainings in that is the way that they attract agents right. They may attract a few or they may attract many. I mean Brent Gove is a perfect example of somebody who's got an enormous amount of agents in a short period of time. And I know you because CRS and otherwise have a lot of agents in different markets do don't you. ERINN: Oh absolutely do. I've got agents you know connected from Alaska to New York and my revenue share group and it's fantastic because it's a great way for me to build out my referral business which is a good 50 percent of my business that I generate every year. But now my revenue sharing group can benefit from that referral base business as well. KEVIN: For people that have heard that this is like some crazy MLM or a pyramid thing. This is no different than the franchise system that collects a royalty and gets paid into a pool and then it's paying regional owners. That's effectively a referral fee too. Right? Actually the same thing so if you've been misled to that you probably want to look back at this again. You know it's not anything that occurs or anything other than as Erinn said production right. The only way it works is if agents are with the EXP and they're in production and this is paid into a pool much like the pool that is paid off of the top with a franchise that's royalties. We don't collect royalties that he EXP. And so you can think about it somewhat similarly. And like you said it's a way to build out and grow your group over time and assist others to do it as well. I know I had a number of people on including an agent in Houston and he talked about the fact that a year into it that he was now starting to think about raising his splits for his team because the revenue share has grown to the point where he wanted them to get the reward on helping him build his business and he was helping them grow their revenue share as well. So for rainmakers listening to this if you think about this on a more broad basis this might prevent you from having that constant turnover and push poll conflict in the team environment right and a lot of the franchises I've had several guests on that said this is I never felt like I could retain people right. What was the next step for him if talent showed up. I'd always worried they'd leave. I want to go do something different in the EXP world. You hear person after person talk about the fact that they want team members to succeed. Brent talked about this tourney talked about this in Dallas and even if they want to go form their own team you help them. We're all shareholders. We're all based in the same direction and that's a big difference from a cultural standpoint don't you think? ERINN: It's a huge difference from a cultural standpoint and I think that's one key myth that is pretty prevalent with people are the naysayers about the EXP. We are not a recruiting company if we're recruiting company. We would be out of business. We are producing company. We want agents that are in production that are building the revenue so we can all take part of it and share the revenue revenues. Sure it's just for expense. KEVIN: Well and I think a big inflection occurred this spring when Brett Inman came up. And as you're aware was up in your town interviewed Glenn and a number of other people and the article came out and I think it raised more than a few eyebrows when he declared that EXP in his opinion based on his conversation with Glenn was going to be essentially the NRT of the cloud and you know put a stake in the ground and basically said 50000 agents. And I think what really blew people away was the 50000 agents and the date that he put in there and how fast it was occurring. You know with a company ending last year at 6500 and change being at 12000 now I think it's easy for people in the industry that have been around and seen this picture before to now look at and go yep 50000 agents this is in sight now. And if the company continues to execute they'll get there. And this is a whole different world right you at the top of this interview you were talking about three hundreds thinking about getting to 2000 agents was gone. How long is that going to take us. ERINN: Oh my gosh yes and that was painful work. People don't understand all the work that goes behind the scenes to build out EXP not only in a new MLS but in a new state. It's monumental. I mean it can take a year up to two years to open in states. I we're still one state that we're not open and yet because of regulations we do everything that we can to be compliant and make compliance not only for the local and state boards but the MLSes in Alaska for example they require a very small bricks and mortar office with a sign facing the street. So it can be a very long and painful arduous process to become open in every state and now we are not. This is another reason why we're seeing such success in such monumental growth. All of a sudden it seems it's because we're able to add agents and almost every single MLS across the nation and Canada. KEVIN: Well absolutely and I think if you look at the franchise system that has profit sharing right. There's enough former members of that company that are here now that have been here long enough. Sherry Elíott is one I did an interview with her and there's a number of others. There's probably hundreds at this point. Now we're making comparisons right. And so the conversation in the marketplace used to be it's not going to work. Nobody is going to make any money with revenue share it doesn't work. You know you're making a huge mistake and that was almost a quote verbatim from Sherry Elliott. Right. And she's now able to have a conversation and say here's why I used to make. Here's what I make now. And here's how I did it. And Brent Gove can do the same thing. You know a number of them can do that and there's literally hundreds of them. And I think that's helping as well and for scaling perspective we're throwing a lot of numbers around what you talked about having in the entire company four years ago. The company is adding more than that per week at this point right. Yeah. Way more than that at this point. And so some of that is the build out and the success we've had and all that hard work that's occurred. But I also think that we've hit that inflection point. You talk about the hockey stick where at this point especially after the Nasdaq up listing we've got enough disclosure information out there. We've been accepted on the Nasdaq. You can point people that are those S and C in the disk profile they say just go read the filings you'll see all of the data there you'll see all of the full disclosure and it takes away a lot of those concerns. Plus they can look in the marketplace and go wow that was the number one agent for that franchise that actually just left. Oh there's another number one agent Northern California for that franchise. There's a number one agent from San Diego. It doesn't take too many of those for the trickle down effect of you know ending up at 350 or more agents a week coming in nationwide and we're headed to a much bigger number than that. It's going to be the opportunity and the challenge for the company but the good news is you talked about the systems are all in place now to take advantage of that. So Erinn I have a question for you. Now there's somebody listening to this right. They've listened to the first part over 20 25 minutes of us talking. If somebody is interested in some of the key factor right they called you up on the phone and said hey why EXP what would be the two or three things from a due diligence standpoint you would say you definitely need to think about this this and this. ERINN: Oh absolutely definitely due diligence read about you EXP on the EXP world holding site. We have a lot of information there that talks about the very most specifics about the company about exactly how the revenue share program works about how agent ownership works look into our stock. It's EXP I is the ticker symbol. And we're now traded on the Nasdaq. Seek advice from your accountant or your CPA definitely have them look into the background of it. You know also meet with an EXP agent has been in the business for a while get perspective find out what their pain points might be. Find out what the huge benefits are for them about working with the EXP and just find the story learn the background. KEVIN: Which is fantastic. Erinn what I would like to reiterate and I've done this on every interview is it doesn't matter who introduced you to the EXP right. It could have been a fairly new agent. That was the same franchise you were and you're a mega agent ask that agent to get you in touch with Erinn, Gene-Frederic myself anybody. We have every guest on this podcast give their contact information. Doesn't matter how you heard about the EXP. We're all here to make sure you get connected with the right people to do what Erinn suggested and there are plenty of people some of them would be peers. Some of them maybe a little ahead in the business of where you want to build to that we'll be happy to share their story of coming over. It's not a matter of them having any kind of concern about the fact that they didn't introduce you to the company. That doesn't matter. As we've talked about there is a shareholder program and we're all shareholders. We want great agents to join the company so I know Erinn you have these conversations with people all the time you talk with somebody in the Pacific Northwest. For me the very first month I joined the company. And you know it's one of those things where it's just part of the culture of the business and this is something that from the outside I don't think it's very well known. So again if you've not been introduced to EXP you need to get in touch with somebody. Erinn will be giving her contact information at the end of this interview. You can certainly reach out to somebody in the marketplace if you look in your MLS and you see somebody you recognize may be happy to chat with you about it. If you have been introduced to EXP and you want to chat with somebody ask them to get in touch with their sponsor or go to the podcast look in the notes or listen in the end here where Erinn gives her contact information or any of the other guests on any other podcast interview. We're all happy to talk with you or get you pointed into the right direction if there's somebody else you should talk to beyond us. Anything you want to add to that Erinn before I get your contact info for and listeners? ERINN: I just have one favorite story that I love to share with people about the EXP. One of the biggest pain points for people is where do I go to work. What do I do without an office space. You are not bricks and mortar. Well I encourage them. OK get creative. Think about this. Why do you need to work in a real estate office in competition with other realtors. Rethink this. We have one guy with the EXP who did something bold and I just love it. He opened up shop in a car wash a drive through car wash. And I just think this is brilliant. He branded his cards with a car wash. Basically a little punched sticker thing and hands them out to people as they come to the car wash. Once they hit 10 he gives them a free carwash. He's got a constant steady flow of business coming through it's like a revolving door and he's actually built his business up through patrons of this carwash. So if you need bricks and mortar space. Get creative. Now part with an attorney partner with a title or escrow company or one of your local lenders. We encourage you to branch out reach out and really expand your network that way. KEVIN: Absolutely. That's great information and that's a good example. I mean we also have agents that are pulling together like in San Diego where they have 3 regional sort of we work type of locations that they've set up collectively between the entire big groups of rainmakers and teams and agents as they come in to join the EXP. It can get in and subscribe and get either a hot desk or a regular place to work. There's lots of solutions. I have yet to find anybody that's a hard stop for there are so few agents that if you don't walk through it they can't figure it out sometimes but when you talk to about it they're like oh yeah I could do that or I could do this and as you just described there's a great business case for why you would want to do something different. I mean sitting in an office where nobody is going to come in. So Erinn before we drop off help somebody reach you if they like to talk with you live about the EXP. ERINN: Oh sure plenty of ways you can reach me either on my cell phone which is 3 6 0 3 9 8 3 8 8 3. I'm on Facebook as Erinn Nobel. You can also reach me via email. It's Erinn.Nobel@EXPrealty.com and I'm also on Voxer as Erinn Nobel. KEVIN: Fantastic and just kind of a hint for listeners. Erinn didn't mention it but if you're looking schedule a call or connect with her one of the best ways would be to text. And then you can catch her that way and do it or send or an e-mail. We're all fairly busy but we're all of the culture that we want to make ourselves available and sometimes rather than leaving voicemails or chasing people around that Sims tends to be the easiest thing. Any final thoughts before we drop off today? ERINN: Not that I can think of top of mind but if you're in the Pacific Northwest Alaska Canada I'm local and I'm more than happy to talk with you. KEVIN: Fantastic thanks for coming on the show. Thanks so much. Kevin's great.

Good afternoon. Hi beautiful people. Hello to the people of the world, come onto me there, come hither to me, I can't just sit here on a big rock all by myself talking into space. Well I could, it would be nothing that's completely unusual. Oh hi people who are jumping onto Join Me. Check it out, I'm on a rock. I'm sitting on a rock. I'm a lizard on a rock. Good morning from Canada. Holler! Holler or Hola? I'm going to go with Holler! Hey Lana, hey Claire, hey Sarah Ashley. I love how Facebook randomly invites me to bring some people on, but not others. So Facebook's invited me to bring Sarah Ashley on. So I'm sitting here on a rock. Where am I? I'm in ... what's country is this? America. And it's the state of Florida. Okay I do roughly know where I am. I don't know. I don't always stay on the human earth, I write about that last night. Sometimes my body might be here, the physical me is here. The rest of me, you just don't know, you don't need to know. I know you would know what I mean, who read my blog post last night? It was pretty fucking huge for me to release. I was like you know when you've unleashed some art that is just next level powerful and you kind of like spent ... it's the best word for it. Diana says, "Just read your blog and oh my God, so me right now! I'm dealing with all of that." If you didn't read my blog, I think I even going to go get you that link and pay sitting here so ... Nadia, right. Thank you Emma. So the blog was about I get anxious ... what did I called it? I get anxious ... and I don't think I said bitchy, but that's definitely true. And agitated a lot of the time in how ... I'm sorry I'm just looking at my computer while I'm sharing the post ... in how I kind of hate people a lot of the time, which is not typically something that you want to say on the internet when you're talking to people. But then I know that you guys get it, right? And so I want to give you that link now. I don't want you to obviously go read it now, but if you did miss it, I feel like it's going to be pretty powerful. Oh here we go! "I'm sensitive and anxious" ... I called it. "I'm sensitive and anxious, easily agitated and kind of really hate people, a lot of the time." And so I'm here at an event. I'm hiding. I'm hiding from the event although presumably if anyone at the event wanted to see where I am, they could just put Facebook on and find me. But this is where I'm at. It's kind of beautiful. So it's actually a Disneyland resort where they're hosting this event at, cause it's like three and half thousand people here. I did not in fact go to class today at all. Today was a day for me to recharge my soul batteries. And so I want to talk about that a little bit. I want you to go read and read that blog like I said later if you not had chance to read it yet. So here's the link for it right now, it's coming. There it is. Because I think that this is really important for us, for people like us. Yeah I'm at ClickFunnels. So I went yesterday and attended. And it was fantastic. I got so much value out of it. I will write and share my thoughts at some point, no doubt. I really just enjoyed the sessions and I really just allowed myself to be open to being inspire by other stories, and I find it super inspiring to hear other people's stories. Today I look at the schedule and it's more Funnels and that sort of [inaudible 00:03:41] stuff. And my brother who's the chief operating officer of my business is here with me and he got to go today. And you know I looked at the schedule and I was like, "I know that if I went along, I would get epic value out of being in the room." Because I always get value from what I chose to do. So it's no doubt that I would take what I needed from the sessions and if there were any sessions that didn't resonate with me, I would just sneak out the back door as I do ... it's why I have sit near the back. But when I tuned in I was like, "What is it that I'm meant to do today?" Am I meant to go sit in that room because obviously I flew and travelled in theory from Australia to be here all day ... many other things I'm here for on this trip. And come to the event, and paid for the event. And one of the things that I have long ago, given myself permission for and that I want to talk, is to just follow whatever is actually needed for me. Right? So little people would come along to something like this and they're like, "Well I paid to be here and I want to get my money worth." Or "I want to get my value." And for me it was never about that. It was actually more like, I thought for my brother. It would be cool for him to come because he's relatively new, I guess, to the online marketing world, well a couple of years in. But newer than me. And my best Kylie is here as well and so I was like yeah, "Cool, you know I'll come along and I'm sure I hang with some cool people. And I'm sure I would get some value out." But I was never like I want to come to the event and be at the event the whole time. That wasn't my intention. But even had it have been, I've long ago given myself permission to do whatever I need to do in any situation and time. And it's worked out really, really well for me. And that's what I want to talk about, so I did the title for today, "Either way you were born to win no matter what." Or I think it wasn't that long, but my title is essentially, "You were born to win no matter what, so why don't you just do what you want." Right? So for me, like from these perspectives now, from my perspective on the rock, I know when I look at my business, some of the results that I have with money. Building a multi-million dollar [inaudible 00:05:29] business online ... Hey Mandy! We're going to be hanging very soon at my event! Did you guys know I'm doing a one day VIP, very intimate high level soul shift and soul creative flow money making event next week one day in New York? It's going to be next Tuesday in New York. And then one day in San Diego. Then a week after which I believe is also Tuesday, either way it's April 3. Message me over on my personal Katrina Ruth page if you would like the details to be at those events. There are filling quite fast, so there's only a few places left. They're very small, high level intimate one day events. Super excited about that. And I just thought of it cause Mandy just signed on and she just said, Hello, on the live stream here. So yeah when I look at my business now, when I look at ... okay my business makes more than seven figures per year. It continues to grow. I truly believe I have one of , if not the most [inaudible 00:06:18] fucking tribe on the internet, right? Like I just, I mean, okay. If you want to be internet markety about it, my conversion numbers and my engagement tells that story. Right? Actually the income that my, the revenue that my business makes for the size of my email list and my following is quite astonishing. And it's kind of unheard of whenever I talk to normal internet people. But like putting that aside, you fucking see it and feel it, right? And whenever I'm in a room with my clients and my clients get to meet each other for example like at an inner circle events or over the [inaudible 00:06:46] event in New York next week and San Diego the week after, the clients and my tribe ...like when they interact with each other are always kind of astonished but not. But just kind of blown away at how instantly every single person in the room connects with every single other person in the room. You know I have been in business for nearly twenty years now, and have been marketing online for twelve years of that. And I've never experienced this before. You don't go to an event or retreat or seminar or hang out in a group online and every single person adores every single other person and is like a soul sister friend. So I know that I've done a pretty damn good job of building my tribe and calling in the correct alliance of people. And that post last night and the resonance that came through from that and the feedback that I had of messages and comments is just like, I think I've actually going to extend it to a book. Cause I just really feel that this is such a powerful topic. And I think that's what I'm going to do today, is really dive deep into writing a big piece of that book instead of going to the event. So yeah, I know I've done a good job of calling my tribe and it's reflected in energy that I have in my online audience. It's reflected in how I feel. It's reflected in how much genuine joy and love and utterance I have for my clients. And it's also reflected in the fact that I love spending time with my clients as suppose to my hating people thing that I write about on the internet last night. I've truly allowed myself to call in and create. I've a soul tribe of women and some men who are exactly the same sort of person to me. And who get it. And who were not born for this world and we're born to dance between the realms [inaudible 00:08:23]. Like we travel in our sleep and even during the day to other worlds and other places. And then we create new worlds inside of us. And if we put ourselves into an environment with people who are not ... like whatever you want to call it, astro travellers, indigo children, magical light workers, healers, like you know, the ones who are sent from other places. Us. If we hang with the other people too much or if we just around like noise or a load of city type stuff or electro magnetic stuff or just a load of energy that's not ours or it could be just being really busy. That's going to deplete us. And I'm not just talking like introvert depletion, well that's part of it. Cause I'm a big ass introvert and I know most people here are. But it's going to deplete us. Just on all possible levels. And what would happen is if you don't respond to what your soul needs, not just in like that moment, like what do I need right here. Okay I need to get out of this room. Or I need to go sit on a rock in the sun and live stream to my people, because right now ... here's a little secret for you guys, right. I'm already playing hooky on the whole day. There's a very specific reason why I just went live right now. It's because everybody just went to lunch five minutes ago. You can start to see them walking pass. Three and a half thousand people just went on their two hour lunch break. I know that from the schedule. I don't want to talk to them, so I'm live streaming here, so not only am I avoiding the event, but I'm going live to make sure that I don't get caught up in a conversation and then I have some client calls starting at the next hour. Like at the top of the next hour, so I'm super ...like I know what I fucking need and I'm creating my life around it. I'm literally on a rock right now, because I'm pretty sure that my brother or some of the people that I know is going to walk pass me soon cause this is like somewhat near our room and I'm like, well shit if I go back to the room, they're going to want to talk to me about the event. And tell me what happen this morning. I'm not available for that right now. I'm in Florida, I'm at the Funnel Hacking event. I'm not available for that right now. And I want to hear about the event. And I hear about it at dinner. And I'm excited to hear about what was covered and what my brother learned out of it. And that sort of thing. But energetically I'm not actually available. Like I would not cope right now with getting into a conversation and having an update about what happened in that room. My soul is not recharge yet. We've been with people non stop for the past week or ten days like nonstop twenty-four hours a day, travelling with people. And people who I love and I adore. And doing a load of stuff, which I consciously have chosen to but having a bit less time to myself of the normal. And it's just like ... no, Kat if you don't take today and recharge your soul batteries, you're going to start next level bitch on everybody's ass, which started to happen last night. It was not [inaudible 00:11:07] I was turning into a sly asshole and I write about that a bit in my post. But it could be something else. It could be like binge eating, right? Or whatever it is. And I just know what I fucking need. And here's what else, and here's why I'm doing this livestream on this topic, I don't have fear of scarcity around missing out. This waiting for me to start talking about these things even more than usual. I think I've talk about them a lot before. Cause all this stuff comes in phases. Like if I went back through my blog posts, I've definitely written posts about not liking people and like similar sort of stuff I think I might go and find those posts. And even include them in this book that I'm writing. So yes, I don't have fear of scarcity, right. Like as I was saying, a lot of times if people would travelled to an event ... and like I said my intention was to never that I had to attend the whole event anyway. But regardless people would be like well, isn't it kind of stupid that people think it's stupid or irresponsible or they will actually think that it's a sabotage to them playing hooky and not attend at all. And it's not an ego thing, I'm fully aware that I'll get value from being in the room, there's amazing speakers at this event. There's many, many speakers whose businesses have grown far beyond mine. And you know what, I kind of don't care because I know that I'm going to do it anyway. And I know that I'm going to do it in my own way. And I know that I'm going to have the perfect alliance, support, or learning, or growth, or inspiration just come along exactly when I need it. So yesterday afternoon, it was so align and perfect for me to be in the room. And I was so happy to be there and I got incredible value out of it. Today if I would have gone along, because I look at the speakers and I was like well there's some good sessions there that I think I would enjoy but have I gone along, that would have been coming from fear. That would be coming from FOMA, right. That would have been coming from well what if I missed out on that one weird thing that's going to hack my freaking funnel and make me another million or the next million or ten more million or whatever. And I just tune into that and I was like, but I'm going to win no matter what. I was born to win. I was born to succeed. I was born to do something extraordinary in the world. Just like each and every person here. And I also know that I always make the right decision, because I chose that as a belief. So therefore it's true, cause I chose it and I've locked it in for long enough now that's it fucking true. I know that everything always work out perfectly for me. I know that I always choose the correct action to take. I always am moving forward perfectly on my path. I know that all things are coming together for my greater good. I know that I'm building a multi-hundred million dollar empire. I fucking know that I'm not going to look back in ten years and say. "Well gee I was here to change the fucking world and share my message and create amazing art and build a multi-hundred million dollar empire, impact millions of people, but you know I played hooky that one day on March 21 at that event back in Florida and I guess if I have just have gone along, I could have live my destiny and live my purpose." Right? Like doesn't it sound ridiculous when you put it that way. But year every single day, we all make choices to do things ... well actually I don't anymore. Well maybe I do and I catch myself, but I certainly don't do it as much as I used to. Make choices to do things that are not aligned. Right? That are not feeding our soul, because we're scared. We're scared ... well what if do miss out on something that could have completely change my business or something that I just had to know that I didn't know. Or meeting the right person or whatever it is. Right. And it's like well what if you miss out on living your fucking life? Because you responded your entire day in and day out through all decades of your life from fear and from a scarcity mentality that says do what other people tell you. Go along. Follow the crowd, just in case. The only thing that you need to guide you is soul flow. And I'm quite certain I'll be guided back into that room at some time over the next few days. And I'm quite certain that if that doesn't happen, I won't even go back in. And I still am in massive gratitude and appreciation for the event, for the organisers of the event. For the people who are here, and for being here, and I'm glad I came. I'm enjoying the environment and I'm enjoying sitting on this rock. And I'm enjoying speaking to you. And there's a great gym here, so that makes me happy. And I'm exactly where I need to be. I'm exactly where I need to be and everything is perfect and everything is where it's meant to be. And what I want to, I guess, pass onto you is well what if you chose to feel that way. What if you chose to feel always that you're exactly where you need to be? That you always make the right decision. That everything always works out perfectly for you. That you're moving forward on your correct path with beautiful perfect alignment right now. That you were born to win. And that nothing can stop you. And so therefore, you get to do what you want. Now getting to do what you want, really what I mean about that, following soul desires. And soul flow. And I want to talk about that a little bit more, but let me see what comments you said. Zuckerberg, what did Zuckerberg do? Cause ... don't even tell me now, I'll read it in the news later, but I saw something about him and then I ignore it. "This is my mantra from my coffee this morning, stop comparing. Yes oh my God, thank you. ", says Keyona. "One of my current [inaudible 00:16:12] kiss ass and why don't you explore resistance around that. You must be missing some soul [inaudible 00:16:17]. I'm like oh okay. Right like I just think that one of the most powerful shifts through people like you and I who are very different like we're the ones who ... for example, I can be in a room with three and half thousand entrepreneurs, which I was yesterday, and I in that room feel like, well you guys are the normal ones. And I'm the weird crazy one in this room, cause I'm the one who travels to ... I know there are others who are like me but I don't necessary know who they all are or where they all are. But I know that ... like I look at that room, and I go well you guys are the normal ones, right? And then it was funny cause they did like a slide on being the crazy ones and the misfits and the rebels, and the not normal ones. And I was like, no you are the normal ones. You're the internet marketing people. And then I'm like, oh but I guess, it's a room of entrepreneurs so technically the whole room is the not normal ones. But then I think that we, you and I. This kind of person is super sensitive person who reads and feels energy. And who is highly psychic, highly intuitive who does travel to other worlds, who does work magic, who does create from within, who does need to be within a very high majority of the time, we are the not not normal ones in a whole different way and I don't mean better, worst, anything, at all. I just mean I know who I fucking am and I know who you are. And I know that it's an extraordinarily rare thing. And I don't even know what my fucking point was right then actually. It was something about being normal. What was it? Oh! We always know what we actually need for ourselves. I mean that's kinda my big message, right? So when somebody's like, well you know you have resistance, like this being many things that I've ever had resistance to over my business journey, where coaches or I guess other people that I maybe did follow online at the time before I fully kind of figured this out and got on my own path. Or when I would have come to events that I would've been thrown off my path, because I would have bought into the stories. Right. It would have been like well shit maybe I should do it that way and maybe I should change what I'm doing because my way is like pretty fucking messy and chaotic and so on and so forth. And i did, I fought that battle for some many years, I fought a battle against being me. And eventually it got to a point where I was exhausted of that but where additionally I started to look back through my success history in my business and in my life and I was like well shit. All this success that I've had, which was significant but all the real flow [inaudible 00:18:51] success had not only been like an amazing result but that I've found easy is when I just completely created from inside of me. When I just reached in and ... well reach in and grab my audience by the soul actually. It's one of my favourite blogs that I wrote of mines, it called "Reaching and Grab them by the Soul", on how to build a cult following. But when I reach in and grab hold of my own soul and responded to that when I kind of heard what everybody was saying or doing and then was just like, yeah, I'm not going to do that. And even long before I prove myself with my results and business to where I can now sit here and say this is what I think and by the way I've got the fucking results to back it up so don't try to me that I'm wrong. I don't care if you do anyway. But long before that, I would go to events, even like twenty years ago, right, when I was like 18 years old, 17 years old, even yeah like 20 years ago, or like when I first got into personal development in a big heavy way was when I was 17, so 21 years ago. But really I started when I was about 11, reading books and that sort of thing. And I would go to events, like I went to Landmark when I was 20 for example, and I walked out at like 11:00 am on the first day. And I'm not saying Landmark is no good. I'm just saying I knew I didn't need to be in that room. And I did not have the results to back it up either. Right. And I remember that to this day and I remember that they gave me an exit interview, they wouldn't actually let me out of the room. They kind of barricaded me in and made me answer a bunch of questions about my life before they would allow me to get out. They were like, "Well do you have any problems with your father?" And I was just like, "Nope." And no matter what they asked, I was just like, "Nope, my life is perfect." Cause I just wanted to get out of there. And then I remember walking out and I was like, "I'm free! I'm free at last!" And I think I went to the art gallery or something. And it's always been that way for me, I can remember so many freaking seminars ... like NLP stuff, and personal development stuff, and two days stuff, and one day stuff, and you know selling stuff, and marketing stuff, and I would go with my friends well before I had this business. Even before I started to build this business, even before I was online, I was always going to personal development seminars and I was always fucking leaving, right? I was just always leaving my friends. My friends would stay, I would make it through like a day tops. And I would just be like, "I can't be here. I'm just going to go." Because I would feel like claustrophobic. And then all the people. And then all the noise. And then, I don't know you get your value but you get to a certain point where you're like, now my value is going to be me being along, doing what I need to do for me. Going within and creating from that place and space. Because ultimately that's where all my success comes from. "Yeah going to [inaudible 00:21:30] conference this summer, I make sure to take solitary time for me." Right, well another thing that I've learned is that when I run my events and retreats I never start the day until 10:30 or 11:00 am because I know how my clients are and I know they need to get their morning shit like done and take care of themselves before they come and hang with me. So even our events start ... the New York one day next week and Sunday the week after starts at 11:00 for example or if I do like three day things, which I do on occasion. Or two day things like in my inner circle then I always give a break in the afternoon from like 4:00 pm through 8:00 or 8:30 pm because I use to think that people would want me to just go straight through because then it's like more value or something and then when I started really truly calling in my soul alliance clients, I noticed they were all just getting ... or just straight up telling me like getting completely depleted. And it was actually higher value to give a massive gap of time in the afternoon for them to go and do their thing. And then when I think of how I've shown up even in events or masterminds where I did want to be there the whole time and I did stay in the educational side of it or the seminar side of it or whatever the whole time, that I definitely skip out on as much elements of stuff that I could. Not cause I didn't think it was going to be good or fun, but because I knew that I needed to go and do my stuff for me and I've always wondered how people can maintain that energy of being around other people the whole time and I just think like I wrote about in my blog last night, of course you can chose that. Of course I could chose that. Of course I could be like, I'm going to bring it and I could, but at what cost? Right. The cost could be some short term binge reaction or sabotage reaction or dealing with anxiety or whatever it is. Well I'm not available for that shit, but also ultimately it comes down to, I'm no longer available for that shit. I just choose what I know I need. But also it comes down to well in the end, do you believe? Do you believe that you are born to win? Do you believe that you're going to achieve your goals? Do you believe that you're going to successful? Do you believe that the vision inside of your head is going to come to life? Like actual question right now. Type it in to the comments. Do you have that faith? Do you believe that what you see inside of you is real? And that your vision is coming to life? So say like something. Give me something. Or give me a [inaudible 00:23:39] if you believe that. Or give me an amen, right. Because here's what real, when you believe that the vision inside of you is true and you just have that faith and don't forget that faith is a choice. When you believe and you have that faith, guess what? You can do and you should do and you must do, whatever the fuck you want, which is fabulous. And I don't even mean it in the sense of being a rebel, or a black sheep. Like I just think I'm like black sheep or rebel but that's just because I was following my soul. I never set out to be a black sheep or a rebel, right. That was just always me doing what I knew I needed to do for me. And then we end up labelled that way. And then you know I kind of use the labelling cause it's like cool or whatever. I think it's fun. But it's like, yeah my intention was never that. My intention was never to be a black sheep. It just kind of happened because it's how I am. Well doing whatever you want, just means you can't screw it up. You can't go wrong. It's literally impossible for you to screw it up. You know that vision inside of you is real. You know that it's going to come to life. So what you gotta do to bring it to life? Keep focusing on it. Keep sending that intention, keep tuning into it through your through your [inaudible 00:24:45] through your journaling and then your task, as far as what action to take through your day, through your business, through your life is to tune the fuck in and listen to what your soul is telling you. And this is the biggest thing that I come back to repetitively. It's the number one piece of advice or conversation that I come back to repetitively with my private clients. My hiring clients who pay me a significant amount of money obviously to work with me. This is the biggest thing I teach them and we come back to it over and over again. I actually wrote about in another blog, which I've not published yet, which I put up later today which I wrote this morning. And it just makes it so easy, right. Because I know that I'm going to succeed. I know that my entire vision is coming to life. It's always been that way. And I know that system [inaudible 00:25:25]. So all I need to do is to tune and to follow soul flow. That's it. There is literally nothing else required. And isn't that just the most beautiful glorious thing in the world, because it means that when you are somewhere and you suddenly feel like you need to be there, you not going to screw it up by leaving. It's going to be perfect. I'm not going to like limit my growth or limit the value that I got by spending the day tuning in, being in my own space and place, being with you. Doing what I need to do for me and that is true on day [inaudible 00:25:55] basis for every single area. Every area, not just business and money, but even how you chose to exercise and eat. How you take care of your body. Whether you should travel, whether you should stay in that relationship or not, whether you should say that crazy thing to that person you're in love with. Like you can't screw it up. This just makes it so easy. So fucking easy. And there's so many examples, even recently, and from years back where I just feel like I continually go against the grain or go against what people tell me is the right way to do something or what's going to work or what makes sense or what the supposed proven method is but in the end I know that if I follow what's coming through my soul, it is impossible for me to get it wrong. Like impossible. And to the contrary, if I don't follow what's coming from my soul. Like even to the point of what I've explain for how I spent my time today. Had I've gone against that, what I would be saying is, that I don't trust. That I don't have trust. That I don't trust that the vision inside of me is going to come to life. That my belief is I need to make sure I have the right external influences in order to be successful. So how do you think that carries on? There is carry on effect to every choice that you make. If we continually make choices to go against our own soul or just the soul flow and to show that we don't trust, we're going to rewarded accordingly, which is to say not with the things that are actually available to us in infinite balance and flow. So if you want it all, if you want it on your terms, if you want to bring every element that vision inside of you to life, you know that that's available to your impossible. And it's only going to happen when you say yes to your soul. So for me, it's become a daily practise. And for clients it's become a daily practise to run everything through this [inaudible 00:27:41]. From the smallest, tiniest decision about any different thing in your life to the biggest things in your business and in your personal life and in your finances. And whatever it might be. And it just makes it fucking easy. It makes it fucking perfect. And it makes it fucking flow. So that's what I wanted to share today. Thank you so much for the comments. I'm going to come back and read them a little later, probably while I eat my lunch, please do leave me a comment, if you didn't already. I love to see your thoughts and hear if this resonates with you. And if you in New York or would like to be in New York and spend a day with me next Tuesday, April 27th, I'm doing a one day VIP intimate high level event. We're doing deep dive soul shifts and identifying where your massive wealth and impact is going to come from based on being all of the chaotic, crazy, other worldly person that you are. What's up guys. Hey. Hope these days going fantastic, and you're killing it, and you woke up smiling. If not, I invite you to do so. It's amazing what it does for your day. Hey, so ... Hey. When, I first joined ... It was the very first MLM I ever joined, and I got into. I ran into a problem really, really soon and imagine that you've probably run into this too, at some point in your MLM career, if you're still in one. What's funny is I actually learned that a lot of people who are listening to this right now, are not in MLM. They're just looking for one. I didn't know that. How you guys doing? Anyway, great to have you. Anyway, so the first time I ever joined an MLM, I ran into this issue, where I was excited to be a part of it, and I was running. I was literally going door-to-door down Main Street. I was trying to recruit friends and family. I was doing ... You know what I mean? I had not learned a lot of things that I know now, where I actually am ... I treat it very differently now. I actually value. I actually put stuff out there. I actually qualify leads. I auto close. I've got a lot of tools and stuff like that for my down line. The whole purpose, again of this podcast is to help show you what I do, so you can do it in your own business. I don't care whatever it is you're in. As long as you love it, great. That's awesome. Go kill it and crush it. That's great. The other purpose of this podcast is to go through and show you, kind of documents the journey of me creating this next product for the MLM industry. There's no talk of me trying to recruit you. You won't even know the name of the MLM that I'm in. It's literally just to help you see how someone like me ... I have a heavy, very strong internet marketing background. I was the ... I still am, the right hand funnel builder to Russel Brunson at ClickFunnels. Sat right next to him for about two years. I'm about to leave that job, in about four weeks here, which makes me a little bit nervous, but I'm excited to do it. I'm literally leaving to do this full-time. If that's any kind of testament that what I'm trying to teach you, works. I have two kids. I have four year old and two year old, and a pregnant wife. I would not leave my job, if it was not actually being successful. Okay? Please know that what I'm teaching you guys throughout this entire podcast, and especially in the course I have coming up, works. It's real. It happens. You guys are living testaments of it right now, also, that ... Anyway. Anyway. Moving on. The first time I joined an MLM, I ran into a problem quickly, which was, after I had ... You know, I was doing it the old school way. I made the list of the friends and family. I called a bunch of people. I annoyed lot of people. I went through and I was going door-to-door. I was hustling. I still did it the best that I could. The problem was, when somebody else finally joined my down line, I didn't know what to do with them. Right? They were just sitting there, and it was like, "What do we do now?" I'm like, "Oh crap. Uh. Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but I'm about to tell you the same thing my upline told me to do. Go bug your family members and friends. Go hustle like crazy. Go the next thing, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." I just started regurgitating all the stuff that I was hearing. Does it work? Yeah. Yeah, it works. It's effective. It's not very efficient though. You know what I mean? It'll work. It's a terrible experience though, and I ruined a lot of relationships with it. You know what I mean? Anyway, that was part of the issue that I was running into with the whole thing. I didn't know what to do with them, after they joined my down line. I was on this call once. I'm not sure if you guys know who Stu McLaren is. Stu Mclaren's a very amazing guy. He makes millions of dollars every year, running membership sites. Amazing value, but he only spends a couple week a year actually building them. The rest of it's all on auto pilot. Amazing stuff. It's the world I come from. Built a lot of membership sites in my day. And so, one of the things that he teaches in one of his courses, is this concept that ... Have you guys ever bought a product before? You've bought the product. You get it and you realize ... You what, there actually is a better example. Christmas is right around the corner. Right? Christmas is right around the corner. Let's say you buy a toy for a kid, and you get this toy and you have to assemble it when you get it. You open up those instructions and the first thing you notice is, it's not a simple set up. Right? You kind of get completely overwhelmed by the amount of steps that it's now told you to do. Let's say you have done this for a kid. Fine. Whatever. A piece of furniture. Let's say you go buy a piece of furniture, and you're like, "Oh my gosh. I'm gonna spend the next two or three hours of my life building this thing. I had no idea." You know what I mean? It's that feeling, you like, "Oh crap. There's that much stuff to do? Oh jeez. Oh, uh. Gosh dang it. I didn't want to go through this today." You know what I mean? That's kind of the feeling you get. It's the feeling of pure overwhelm. Well, what's funny is that it's been learned, it's been noted that the number one reason why people will refund from memberships sites, is become of overwhelm. There's just too much stuff. There's not enough places to go. There's not enough ... I'm sorry, there's too many places to go. There's too many things to do. There's too many options. There's total overwhelm and the person just wants to get out. A confused mind is always a no. Right? The answers always no for a confused mind. A lot of times that ends up happening, when you join an MLM, or when one of your people joins a MLM. When you recruit somebody, the tendency is just to barf all over him. Here's the comp plan. Here's all the specs to the product. Here's how we're selling it in the script behind it. Here's your duplicated website. Here's the events coming up. Here's all the books coming up. Here's what the president has said about x, y, and z. Here's blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You go and you barf all over these people. Total overwhelm. No idea where to start and it makes someone want to quit. What Stu Mclaren teaches as the way around us, is something called a success path. Okay? A success path. These success paths are genius. I use them in my own MLM recruiting now. Their amazing. Okay? When somebody joins my MLM, what I do is I think through the success path that I want that individual to go down, meaning, what's that number one? All right, well, we should probably have learned about the product a little bit more. Watch this video. That's it. Don't think about anything else. I'm not out to tell you about the [inaudible 00:07:08] plan even more. I'm not about to tell you about all the 12 million events coming up. I'm not about to tell you about the stuff that's going on, and have you re-introduce the 1400 of my upline people. You know what I mean? Just watch that one video. That's it. What else? Don't worry about it. Did you watch the video? Nope. Then, watch that video. That's all. I write it out. I put stuff down, so that they understand what is expected of them, in order to be successful. Right? Both from a business standpoint and a recruiting standpoint and a sales standpoint. I just, I figured it out. I do through. I just simplify it. Okay. Here's all this crap. Let's put it into an organized manner that you can actually digest it, and that it's not gonna stress you out like crazy. That's what I've been building this last little bit here is ... I've built a lot of members areas on the internet. It's one of my specialties, really enjoy doing it actually. I thought, how cool would it be .. This is something I just barely started doing right now, as far as the members area form. It's a dedicated members are that's just for my down line. Not just for the tier that's directly under me. I'm totally fine if it's like, they bring in the tier under them, and they bring the tier under them, they bring the tier under ... It's still all essentially my down line. Why would I not want them all to have a success path, to have training on how to sell each specific product, to have training on all the leads and things you can do out there that's all automated. You know what I mean? Why would I not want everybody to have that? What I've been doing and building, is putting together a members ... When they join, you know I give 'em the option to have the entire members are to themselves too, to duplicate it that way. It's legitimate true duplication, because I know I can build it awesome. That's my actually job, which I'm about to leave soon. Once I build it, I can comb the thing over to 'em. Now they have it for their down line. You know, or they can just give access to the current one too. I'm completely fine with that. Anyways, all I'm trying to do is, I'm trying to just illustrate the fact that, one of the reasons ... This is the case that I'm posing, which is that I really believe that, one of the major reasons why somebody will not join your down line, or when they do join it, then they do nothing, is just sheer overwhelm. They have no idea what to do next. They have no idea what to start on next. There's a lot of information, which is great. There's so much information, that it's completely overwhelming and they just don't know what to do. Create a success path. What is the first logical thing you would have any person who joins your MLM do? I can't answer that for you. That's up to you. Okay? I've answered it for myself, and my team. We're putting those things even more together. I go and I survey people and I say, "Hey. What are you struggling with? How can I help?" We do live calls frequently. We go through a lot of cool trainings. We go ... You know, and we ... The upline is not their only support. The content from the MLM, you know, the corporate MLM is not their only piece of guidance. It's not their only source of training. It's not their only source of, here's how you actually sell. They're getting it from me too. Right? Actually, way more in-depth, than my MLM provides. Right? And so, anyways, that's what I'm super stoked about. I'm very, very pumped to get this piece done here. I've created a lot of "success paths." This is the most in-depth one for an MLM, my MLM down line that I've ever built. Excited to have it. Excuse me. Anyway, super pumped to be able to send that our to 'em. I think what it's gonna do is it's gonna help keep believability. This whole games about beliefs, right? Someone joins your down line, because they believe that it's possible for them to be successful, which is great. They're right. They should. They need to have that belief otherwise why are they do anything. All right? The belief can get killed when they realize that they've got to ... When they feel like they don't just have to read the owners manual alone, but they also feel like they gotta write the thing. You know what I mean? When it's that much stuff. I actually feel like it's actually been preserving some belief patterns, has actually created more, not just of a path that had to be successful, but just like, overall peace. You know, overall well-being. What's neat about it too is it's trained people where to go to get information and they collaborate amongst themselves now. It actually helped duplicate me, and slightly removed me. Not that I'm trying to be removed, but it's mainly that I'm no longer the bottleneck. You know, cause the trainings there. The stuff that I said is there. It's all in there. The success path is there. They know the path from A to Z, how to actually be successful with this thing. Because I'm being transparent about how I'm being successful with it. I'm showing 'em exactly what to do. You know what I mean? It's hand holding at the coolest, but without me having to actually do it, because it's all done through videos and you know, PDFs and ... You know what I mean? All of these different things. Anyway, start thinking through the major sticking points of your down line. Again, I pose the belief that part of that is just straight, sheer overwhelm. If you can't figure out what those pieces are either, just ask your upline. "Hey. What are the things that the people who joined, actually with the first." And then you start thinking through what that success path looks like. What it is that the person is actually asked to go through. Here's an example. You can be like, "Here's what the first 30 days of your life here looks like." I know a lot of MLM's have that, but from corporate they have that. It's so much more powerful if you, the leader gives that to the down line. Hey. Welcome to the team. This is a legitimate team. I'm not just saying it, cause that's what we we're told to call it. This is an actually team, meaning, here is an actual success path we found. It actually made us successful with it. Here's how it's duplicatable, and you know. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. If it comes from you, versus just corporate ... Corporate probably has something like that, but if it comes from you also, it's gonna be a lot more powerful and it's gonna go a lot further. Anyways guys, hopefully that's helpful. Go create the success path. Fight overwhelm and I'll talk to you later. Bye. Hey. Thanks for listening. Please remember to subscribe and leave feedback. For our first 10-minute show of the Fall, we're going to talk about what's HOT and what's NOT as we finish the 2005 season and head into 2006. As E.B. said during the pre-show, we're lazy. If you'll remember, we didn't plan on doing new, weekly shows during the off-season. So, the topic for this show began when one of our listeners posted a message about it in the CoasterRadio.com Forums. Hey, there is some nobility to actually admitting that we're lazy? Right? Actually, we do throw a lot into the show this week. We'll add our own spin to each of the topics and share a few stories too. After the show, join us in our forums to talk about your thoughts. You can also record your thoughts on the CoasterRadio.com Voicemail Line at 206-339-RIDE (206-339-7433). Thanks for listening to our first show of the off-season.
