This week, Zak and Aaron dive back into the murky waters of microtransactions, this time within the context of the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Is it okay to add pay-to-win mechanics after launch? Why would a developer or publisher decide to do so? How many times can Aaron use the same word in one sentence? There's only one way to find out. Please, enjoy.Listen to Beach Girl on SpotifyCheck out edouggieart on EtsyCheck out even more edouggieart on Instagram

Shinji Mikami, director of the landmark 2005 title, Resident Evil 4, once insinuated he would chainsaw his own head off if RE4 came to a console other than GameCube. 18 years, many console iterations, and a remake later, he had this to say of the recently released 2023 remake: “RE4 cleared successfully. I enjoyed it very much.” That's right, we're talking and spoiling the hell out of The Resident Evil 4 Remake on this week's episode! After many playthroughs, grueling hours and slain Plagas, we can confidently say we also enjoyed it very much and that it's an easy frontrunner for Game of the Year so far. Want to know what we think of the parry, the Ashley treatment, the Ada VA “controversy”, and what Leon and Krauser did while shirtless in the jungle? Well, hit play then, sacrificial lambs!

We brought the SPICE this week. Brad opens the show with a dramatic trade proposal during our weekly Fantasy Critic update and the wheels finally came off E3 2023 which has now been cancelled. We discuss the fate of the industry institution and then switch gears to talk about something a bit more positive... Nintendo gave us a brief glimpse of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the game looks amazing. After the break, we take our first deep dive into the Resident Evil 4 remake and Nick goes to bat for Horizon: Call of the Mountain which, despite struggling hardware sales, manages to be a powerful VR experience.
After glancing off the subject our last couple of episodes, we're finally ready to dive deep into Capcom's latest rejuvenation of their classic survival horror franchise, Resident Evil 4 Remake. Also, how buckwild does Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom look?!Also discussed: Octopath Traveler 2, Dredge, Psychodyssey
