2005 third-person shooter game
POPULARITY
In this not-episode, Madelyn and Emma talk about team-ups and cooperation between player and character and why every game should probably have a hold hands button. Also featuring too long punch-kicks, sending the girl to the garbage, and judging by usefulness.
[School of Everything Else 2025] One of the most beloved, instantly-transformative, replayed, re-released, and critically acclaimed games of all time... and would you believe until preparing for this show, that I wasn't massively fussed about it? But this year I have been replaying all of the original games sequentially, and after the first era of fixed-camera tank controls transitioned into the action-spectacle of 4 I was blindsided by how many fresh aspects of the gameplay and world that I appreciated. The 2005 GameCube hit is, as it turns out deserving of the historical adulation that has been heaped upon it. Moreover, going back to the 2023 remake, it seems Capcom somehow accomplished the impossible, improving upon (almost) every aspect. Here now is a hyper-focused discussion with three other lovers of this game. The discussion ran long and meandered, and I elected to divide this show into two, with the second part; 'Blue Medallions' being released on the Patreon bonus feed where you can also find an After School Club on Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica. After the most harrowing week of fascist American leadership in our memory, the Sickos must seek the healing aura of Resident Evil 4, the platonic ideal of video game, and the real-life manifestation of Bonestorm, the game Bart wants on the Simpsons. We talk both the original and the remake. They both rule. It is fun when you kick an old old Spanish man and his head becomes deleted

Today, we're diving into the creation of Resident Evil 4, a title that redefined both its franchise and the survival horror genre upon its release on January 11, 2005. We begin by tracing its long development, from multiple abandoned concepts like the fog and Hookman versions to its eventual breakthrough with an over-the-shoulder camera and action-oriented gameplay. We'll explore how these innovations, along with its intense pacing and new enemies like the Ganado, revolutionized third-person gaming. Finally, we'll reflect on Resident Evil 4's enduring legacy, from its influence on iconic franchises like The Last of Us and Dead Space to its continued status as one of the greatest games of all time. So, grab your green herbs and join us as we uncover the story behind this masterpiece on today's trip down Memory Card Lane.

Sometimes you hear about a game and you know you're going to love it. God Hand, released by Clover Studio and Capcom in 2006, is one of those games. Despite hearing about its difficulty (which was true, my hands still hurt), I loved playing this game and it deserves its resurging cult status. Now if only someone could convince Capcom that this is worth remastering. We can dream, can't we?
