Phillip and David welcome back Phil Leavitt and Joie Calio from 7Horse for the second half of their convo, after Phillip spent a little too long swimming in the waters of the past, and the story of their first band - dada. They'll start things off with a "previously on Your Next Favorite Band" recap, to bring us quickly back to where we left off. Then we'll hear all about the trials and tribulations of post-dada, the iphone recording of the guitar riff labeled "Meth Lab Zoso Sticker", and where it all went from there. We'll specifically spend time with that track, "Low Fuel Drug Run", "Two-Stroke Machine" and "Try To Forget It", and hear loads of great stories along the way.Website: http://www.7horsemusic.com/#intro-section7Horse YouTube channel7Horse SpotifyGet tickets to the "Hot Summer Night" show at The Roxy in West Hollywood on Sat Aug 19th, 2023, which will include a set by dada!!Trailer for Wolf of Wall Street featuring "Meth Lab Zoso Sticker" by 7HorseBioPhil Leavitt and Joie Calio, the multi-instrumentalists behind 7Horse's self-described "postpunk dystopian blues," have been exploring unfenced territory together for 30 years. Kickstarting their partnership as members of dada — the platinum-selling alt-rockers behind '90s hits like "Dizz Knee Land" — they now pack a different punch with 7Horse, blurring the lines between '70s-sized rock & roll, Vegas showbiz glitz, and bluesy grit. Connection is everything ! Join us in The Sober Club whether you are sober curious, or have been sober for years, its all about focusing on the life you don't want to escape from. www.thesoberclub.com Janey chats to comic author Rachael Smith on making sense of life through comic art on the release of her highly acclaimed new book Glass half empty Grief, mental health problems, and a troubled childhood leading to her to self-medicating with alcohol. The pandemic made all her problems worse: she was isolated and depressed. Stuck scrolling the internet for horrible news, both global and personal. People were either terrified or bored, or a heady mixture of both. It was a weird time. Alcohol turned from a way of making everything a party into making everything bearable. A worrying turning point. She got better through therapy, and journaling through comics. Comics are how she make sense of the world. Making comics about her life helps her work out how she is feeling about things, and she realised she was feeling pretty awful about her relationship with alcohol. She's feeling a lot happier now.! This week, Corinne and Krystyna help a listener who is struggling through a sex drought, investigate nutritional diets, and wonder why women keep fcking up their own ascendance by supporting men instead of each other. Today's Guys We Fcked guest is comedian and daughter of comedy legend Jackie Mason, SHEBA MASON, and her mom, GINGER. The group discusses having a famous, but absent father, dating in the 70s/80s, and black magic. Fully equipped commentary by Mike Coscarelli.
