Circle of Parks Podcast: Talking all things Walt Disney World
Imagine experiencing Walt Disney World without the stress, phone battery anxiety, or exhaustion that often accompanies a theme park vacation. That's exactly what we discovered on our recent seven-day adventure through Disney's magical world. Our journey began at Blizzard Beach water park, taking advantage of the free entry offered to resort guests on check-in day. Unlike the sometimes overwhelming Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach proved more navigable and family-friendly, setting the perfect tone for our vacation. Afterward, we checked into the elegant Grand Destino Tower at Coronado Springs, where Spanish-inspired design and relaxing ambiance created an upscale retreat from park excitement. The game-changer for our trip? Lightning Lane Multi-Passes. Yes, we spent an additional $725, but the freedom this investment provided transformed our experience completely. Without constantly checking our phones for return times or standing in lengthy queues, we discovered a more relaxed approach to Disney that we didn't know was possible. Each day brought new delights as we explored the parks at our own pace. At EPCOT, we walked right onto Soarin' while others rushed to Guardians of the Galaxy, savoring the often-overlooked attraction without crowds. Hollywood Studios surprised us with impressive new shows featuring The Little Mermaid and Disney Villains, both showcasing technology and storytelling that exceeded our expectations. And Animal Kingdom delivered perhaps the best safari experience we've ever had, with nearly every animal visible and active. One unexpected revelation: taking occasional breaks from each other made our family time more meaningful. Those 30-45 minutes of "me time" – whether wandering Galaxy's Edge with a Gold Squadron Lager or people-watching from a bench near Cinderella Castle – prevented friction and recharged everyone's spirits. From watching fireworks at the Polynesian beach to discovering what might be Disney property's best burger at D-Luxe Burger, our unhurried approach uncovered magic we'd previously rushed past. We followed our Disney adventure with four days at Vero Beach Resort, where we discovered buffalo-tossed Disney chicken tenders that should absolutely make their way to the parks!Ready to experience Disney differently? Let our journey inspire you to slow down, prioritize enjoyment over exhaustion, and discover the true magic that happens when you're not checking the time. What happens when you have nowhere to pee during a 4 a.m. training run? Which runDisney half marathon truly delivers the best experience? And does anyone actually know how to change a flat tire without calling AAA? This packed episode delivers answers to these burning questions and many more as we dive into our listener mailbag. The debate gets heated when discussing whether Wine and Dine or Marathon Weekend offers the superior half marathon experience. Some hosts champion the festival atmosphere and after-party of Wine and Dine, while others can't deny the magic of running through Cinderella Castle during Marathon Weekend. For first-time marathoners, we offer tailored advice on choosing races that accommodate back-of-pack runners, with unanimous agreement that Disney provides one of the most supportive environments for debut distances. We tackle the very real issue of imposter syndrome in running, sharing personal experiences of feeling out of place on the course. Whether it's being the only interval runner among continuous runners or questioning if you belong in a race at all, our conversation provides reassurance that your running journey is uniquely yours—and equally valid.Disney Vacation Club members in our crew offer insider advice on securing rooms during race weekends, revealing the crucial difference between 11-month and 7-month booking windows and why "buy where you want to stay" remains the golden rule. For Disneyland runners, we highlight key differences from Disney World races, from sound ordinances to bag check logistics.Between serious running topics, we detour into delightfully divisive debates about whether the chocolate toppings on ice cream are properly called "jimmies" or "sprinkles," confess our favorite ice cream flavors, and share hilariously desperate tales of bathroom emergencies during training runs.Join us for this journey through running wisdom, Disney insights, and the everyday moments that connect us as a community of runners. Yeah, we're dipping our toes back into the Starkid pool to talk about their brand new musical "Cinderella's Castle." Somehow their darkest and most morbid musical interpretation, yet feels the least mature compared to a lot of their previous work. Yes we're of three minds about this one. Is it their most divisive musical to date? Probably. Come along and sing a song and join the jamboree. Credits: Hosts: Jesse McAnally & Andrew DeWolf & Liz Esten Podcast Edited By: Nathan P. When it comes to versatile, stylish and practical clothing, few things can compete with the ever-popular hoodie. And if you're a traveler — especially someone who frequents magical destinations like Disney parks or other unforgettable places — graphic hoodies are more than just a cozy staple, they're an essential part of your travel wardrobe. Wardrobe Game-Changer: Nine Reasons Why Graphic Hoodies are the Ultimate Style HackWhy a Collection of Graphic Hoodies in Your Wardrobe is Better than OneThe nine things you haven't considered when it comes to the humble hoodieWhile owning one graphic hoodie might seem like it's enough, let's look at why having a small collection of graphic hoodies is not just a fashion statement, but also a very functional and fun way to enhance your vacation style and comfort.1. Style That Matches the Mood and DestinationDisney travelers in particular know that your outfit should reflect the magic of your day, whether it's strolling down Main Street, hopping on your favorite ride, or capturing Instagram-worthy moments in front of Cinderella Castle. Each hoodie in your collection should tell a different story.Having a hoodie collection means you can:Rotate hoodies to match the mood or theme of your day (perfect for Disney parks or other destinations where each area has its own vibe).Pair a hoodie with different outfits for fresh looks, whether it's a travel morning at the airport or an evening watching fireworks by the castle.Stay comfortable in varying weather conditions—hoodies layer well with jackets in colder climates or provide just the right amount of warmth during a breezy evening.Having multiple options ensures you're always dressed for the occasion while staying comfortable.2. Functionality for Every Kind of WeatherGraphic hoodies are the ultimate travel companion because they're versatile. With a hoodie collection, you can really cover all bases:Lightweight hoodies are perfect for warmer days or layering during chilly mornings.Fleece-lined hoodies keep you cozy during colder months or in overly air-conditioned shops, buses or planes.Oversized hoodies offer a relaxed fit for long travel days or lounging at your hotel.Even in a light rain or the start of a rain shower, a hoodie is a great item to have—pull up the hood and head for cover.By ensuring your wardrobe has different hoodie types and styles, you'll always have the perfect hoodie for the forecast, no matter where your adventures take you.3. Practicality Meets PersonalityYour wardrobe reflects your personality and a variety of hoodies lets you showcase different facets of who you are. Whether you're channeling your inner magic or proudly sporting designs inspired by your favorite travel destinations, your collection can serve as a wearable scrapbook of your passions and adventures.Plus, graphic hoodies are conversation starters. A fellow Disney traveler might notice your subtle Disney hoodie and strike up a conversation, making your travels even more memorable.4. Stay Fresh on Long TripsLet's face it—travel can be messy. From the inevitable coffee spill on a flight, to dripping ice cream in the heat of a ride line, having just one hoodie on hand isn't always practical. A collection of unique hoodies allows you to rotate through styles, so you always look (and feel) fresh without overloading your suitcase.5. Collect Memories, Not Just HoodiesMany graphic hoodies are designed to commemorate experiences or are inspired by events or activities. A hoodie purchased to celebrate your first park visit, another from a beloved travel destination, and one featuring your favorite travel mantra can all serve as keepsakes. Over time, your collection becomes a reflection of your journeys and the memories you've made.6. Practically Perfect for TravelersTravelers know the importance of packing wisely. Graphic hoodies serve as the ultimate travel companion for several reasons:Versatility: They work for multiple occasions, from a morning coffee run to an adventurous theme park day.Cozy for transit: Whether you're on a plane, train or bus, a hoodie doubles as an extra layer or even a makeshift pillow.Photogenic: Hoodies with unique designs make your travel photos pop, ensuring your memories are as stylish as they are magical. When you own a collection of several different hoodies, you'll always have a hoodie ready for your next adventure, perfectly suited to the destination and experience.7. Versatility Beyond TravelFor the record, your hoodies don't have to stay in the suitcase. They're just as perfect for running errands at home, grabbing coffee with friends, or relaxing with a beverage and snacks to watch a movie. A collection of hoodies ensures you're not always grabbing the same hoodie, which keeps your wardrobe fresh and fun.8. A Hoodie for Every MemoryDo you attach sentimental value to any pieces of clothing? A collection of graphic hoodies allows you to attach sentimental value to each one. One hoodie might remind you of your first visit to Disneyland, while another brings back memories of a whirlwind European trip. Each design tells a story, and over time, your collection becomes a wearable memory wall of your adventures. And the best part? You can relive those memories every time you slip one on, whether you're lounging at home or exploring a new destination.9. A Hoodie for Every Member of the FamilyIf you're traveling with friends or family, coordinating hoodies can be a fun way to add a little magic to your adventure. Matching tees are one thing, but picture your group sporting matching Disney-inspired hoodies or each person. They don't have to be all the same, but within the same theme or color. It's a fun, easy way to bring the travel party together and stand out in classic vacation photos.Ready to Build Your Hoodie Collection?A single graphic hoodie is great, but a collection? That's where the magic truly happens. With multiple options from graphics to color, you'll never be stuck with a single look or vibe. Instead, you'll have the freedom to express yourself, celebrate your travels and stay comfortable no matter where your adventures take you.At 1923 Main Street, we specialize in graphic hoodies that cater to Disney travelers and adventure travelers alike. Each design is crafted with care, blending comfort and creativity to help you make the most of every magical moment (and stay cozy while doing it). From park-ready Disney-inspired designs to travel-focused motifs, our hoodies are perfect for expanding your collection. A historic first, "BRAT" used in the sense of 52D, 2024 Charli XCX album with a lime green color -- as opposed to all the 179 previous times, when it was a reference to an annoying small child. The rest of the crossword, by Parker Higgins, was similarly entertaining, as evidenced by clues such as 69A, Nose-in-the-air-type?, PLANE; 52D, Give in on Christmas Eve, say, PEEK; and 10D, One of 27 on Disney World's Cinderella Castle, TURRET. A bravura performance, definitely worth 5 squares on the JAMCR scale.Show note imagery: Charles Perrault, author of Tales of Mother GooseWe love feedback! Tony Nominee Liz Larsen (BEAUTIFUL, HAIRSPRAY, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, STARMITES) joins David to share her love of the Disney Parks, specifically "Soarin'," "it's a small world," and the movie MULAN. When Liz was 19 she finally got to go to Disneyland for the first time and shares her memories from that trip, including going on "it's a small world" which she describes as "life changing." Many of Liz's Disney stories revolve around family, watching the movies with them and falling more in love with the characters, and an epic trip in 2005 for five days to Walt Disney World, battling the Florida weather and two small kids (and what happened after a family meal at Cinderella Castle). Liz's love for Disney is infectious, especially when she talks about the attractions and movies in the Disney universe that speaks to her. No "E-Ticket to Broadway" episode would be complete without mentioning Dopey, but this time it's the guest who brings up the Seven Dwarfs, specifically how she wants to be just like them when she's older. Together Liz and David play "The Sherman Brothers' Songbook," playing trivia about music written by the magical Sherman Brothers. Which song from MULAN does this Tony Nominated-actror sing directly to the movie's lyricists' face? Listen to find out! The real-life Cinderella Castle is situated on a steep cliff in Germany. It's one of the most breathtaking tourist spots that has over 6k visitors per day. It was a symbol of romance, fairytales, and happy endings. Until a 21-year-old college graduate was murdered there. Two Asian-American college grads, Eva & Kelsey, were thrown off the 165-foot cliff by a man who was obsessed with Asians.
