The Kings went from a middling team to 2-time Stanley Cup champions under his watch. He cleared house, leaving only one player remaining from before his arrival: Dustin Brown. Lombardi also spent time in San Jose as GM and VP of Hockey Ops, managing competitive San Jose Sharks teams, and is currently with the Flyers organization as a Senior Advisor. We dive into stripping Brown of his captaincy, some “almost trades”, dealing with the notorious Jarret Stoll and Slava Voynov incidents, and much more. The LA Kings' play continues to be up and down, but at least this week brought goals from Anze Kopitar, Marian Gaborik, Trevor Lewis, and another shorty for Tyler Toffoli. That guy can't be stopped! Chanelle and Diane also give props to Jarret Stoll against the Ducks' and question Wayne Gretzky saying Kopitar is third best in the league. Plus, some brief updates on Slava Voynov.

Trevor Lewis made Chanelle scream in frustration twice during this game, but the overall outcome was worth it. The LA Kings followed up a huge comeback win against the Chicago Blackhawks with another win on home ice. LA takes a 2-1 series lead thanks to another 3+ point night from Jeff Carter. Plus, the return of Slava Voynov!

Now that everyone's escaping Russia, Chanelle and Diane break down how LA Kings players performed in the Sochi 2014 Olympics. Jeff Carter got a hat trick, Drew Doughty scored a big OT winner, and Jonathan Quick almost single-handedly tried to get the USA to the gold medal game. Plus, shots fired by Slava Voynov, and Anze Kopitar helped underdog Slovenia impress. Canada refused to lose (ugh), and the USA choked big time (yuck), and so they wallow in international disappointment to get ready to pick up where the Kings' disappointment left off. Fitting.
