How do game critics contribute to Western hegemony, and what can we do about it? Nate Schmidt interviews Felipe Pepe, creator of The CRPG Book Project, on his recent essay, “The Gentrification of Video Game History.” Drawing on Mia Consalvo and Christopher Paul's critique of the concept of “ real games,” their wide-ranging conversation covers mods and mobile games, the relationship between internet cafes and free-to-play RPGs, and the emptiness of the stereotypical “nerd and jock” divide between narrative-driven and sports games.

Poles left it slightly ajar Tuesday by saying he would have to be “blown away” to take a passer. Quarterbacks such as Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Kentucky’s Will Levis are among the top prospects available in the draft. Fields emerged as one of the NFL’s most exciting players in his second season. MLB – AP source: Correa spurns Mets, reaches $200M deal with Twins A person familiar with the negotiations says Carlos Correa has agreed to a $200 million, six-year contract that keeps him with the Minnesota Twins after failing to complete deals with the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants. The deal for the All-Star shortstop is subject to a successful physical. Correa agreed Dec. 13 to a $350 million, 13-year contract with the Giants, who called off a news conference a week later over concerns with a right ankle injury. Correa agreed that night to a $315 million, 12-year deal with the Mets, who also had concerns about the ankle. Big show in store, on a day where Canada racks up another medal at the Olympic Games. The Pat Down takes aim at those that clapped back at J-Pat’s sarcastic tweet about skateboarding in the Olympics, stating that any athlete that can compete with a cell phone in their pocket shouldn’t be in the games. Canada’s men’s soccer team head coach John Herdman follows and explains how the women’s team has nothing to lose in the gold medal game versus Sweden, tells us why Canada’s men’s side continues to take strides, and gives an update on Alphonso Davie’s ankle injury. Thomas Drance follows Hashtags - the best and worst of Twitter, and tells us the best way for the Canucks to handle the Jason Dickinson negotiation, why the middle class of NHL players have taken a pay cut this offseason, how the Nate Schmidt trade alleviated the pressure of an offer sheet for Elias Pettersson, and why he doesn’t see Tyler Myers contract being a massive problem for the Canucks moving forward. The Price is Right looks at the return of football in both the CFL and the NFL, and how having both leagues back is a symbol of normalcy returning to society. NFL insider Charean Williams joins next to give a preview of the NFL season. The boys debate what makes you more proud as a Canadian, setting an historic high for medals in the winter or summer Olympic games? The show wraps with all the Errors & Omissions. On this episode of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast, Elan and Brian cap off our four-part Offseason Action series with their analysis of the fantasy implications of player movement coming via the draft, trade and free agent market in the Central Division. We kick off with the most costly acquisition this offseason (in both trade assets and contract!) who'll look to make an impact in Chicago, and work our way through the rest of the division in order from busiest to quietest during the last few weeks. Is Chicago just the most perfect landing spot for Seth Jones? Can Pavel Buchnevich hit 70 points in a new system and with a new centreman? Is Darcy Kuemper in Colorado now worth reaching for in your draft? How do Arizona's goalies stack up next to other historically terrifying NHL tandems? Who could get a leg up in the crowded Dallas crease? Does David Rittich threaten to take starts from Juuse Saros in Nashville? Will Connor Hellebuyck benefit from Winnipeg shoring up their D corps? Players covered on this episode include Seth Jones, Tyler Johnson, Marc-Andre Fleury, Kevin Lankinen, Torey Krug, Pavel Buchnevich, Brandon Saad, Darcy Kuemper, Pavel Francouz, Alex Newhook, Bowen Byram, Shayne Gostisbehere, Ryan Dzingel, Carter Hutton, Josef Korenar, Ryan Suter, Braden Holtby, Jake Oettinger, Anton Khudobin, Ben Bishop, Alex Goligoski, Mikael Granlund, David Rittich, Nate Schmidt, Connor Hellebuyck and more.
