On tonight's episode, we keep sorting through the pile of potential Winnipeg Jets trade deadline targets to find some gems. Would the Nashville Predators be willing to deal one of their rentals to Winnipeg, especially after the Jets already got a great deal on Niederreiter from them last year? Which of Novak or Carrier might be within Winnipeg's trade budget? Is one a better fit for the team than the other, or are both quality options to fill a need? Do they move the needle, or would this be a "floor raiser"? Could Winnipeg potentially squeeze in a Tomas Tatar-like addition somewhere? What might he cost the Jets? How will Winnipeg play this trade deadline? Will they be conservative, or cash some major chips in?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!IbottaIndeed Right now, Ibotta is offering our listeners $5 just for trying Ibotta by using the code LOCKEDONNHL when you register. Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
We usually don't get this type of trade talk action until mid February. But when the Colorado Avalanche moved Tomas Tatar over the weekend, we're getting much more trade discussion in mid December. So who could the Avalanche be targeting? We take a look at three names that have been floating around the hockey world and discuss if they are possibilities. We also jump into previewing the Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks are a very bad team. Maybe worse than we expected. But with how the Avalanche season has gone so far, can we really just expect an easy two points in the standings? Finally, we take some questions from our Subtext subscribers including where does the Central rank in comparison to the other divisions, and who would we want on the Avs regardless of cap space? A jam packed episode so tune in, subscribe and enjoy! Subscribe to our Subtext to talk to us directly! https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonavalanche Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

Tomas Tatar's time in Colorado is over, having now been traded to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a 2024 5th round pick. Is there another move coming as a result? Where does this leave the Avalanche in the meantime? In game notes, the Avalanche defeated the Buffalo Sabres 5-1 in Erik Johnson's emotional return to Colorado, and saw the emergence of Sam Malinski. However, Cale Makar's minutes were limited, and missed practice again. It's time to consider putting a stop to this and get him back to 100%. Finally, answering your mailbag questions! The Avalanche saved themselves from disaster, pulling out a 6-5 win over after being down 5-3 to the Calgary Flames out from the jaws of defeat to end their slide following a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Tomas Tatar finally scored a goal, Mikko Rantanen's drought is over, and MacKinnon continues to dominate. But should we just forget how the Avs got themselves in that position to need a comeback in the first place? Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
There were several things we loved about this Colorado Avalanche team heading into this season. The potential of their depth was one of them. While we have seen glimpses and some very good individual efforts from those depth players, Wednesday night against the Anaheim Ducks went above and beyond depth expectations. When players like Joel Kiviranta has a three point game, when Logan O'Connor adds two assists, Ross Colton gets another goal, Andrew Cogliano and Fredrik Olofsson both get one as well, Tomas Tatar find a helper as does Miles Wood who also had an opportunity at a short handed goal. Add all that up and if you get this on a consistent basis this Avalanche team will be difficult to beat. A lot to discuss with this one! Tune in, subscribe and enjoy! The Avalanche got right against the St. Louis Blues with a 4-1 win on home ice, getting much needed depth goals and dominant performances from their star players. Ivan Prosvetov made his first start as an Av, and delivered a solid performance, but is he ready for a full time backup role? Some lineup changes were made following the two straight shutout loses, will Tomas Tatar and Jonathan Drouin being scratched be a regular thing in the future? Has Tufte earned a roster spot? Finally, looking around the league at Nick Backstrom stepping away, the Senators being stripped a first round pick, the Sharks being the worst team of all time, and other ramblings. Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
Sometimes the right opponent comes along to get you back into your groove. Was it all pretty? No, but most of it was, and it was more than enough for the Colorado Avalanche to get past the St. Louis Blues relatively easy, 4-1.A first period goal by Ross Colton ended the team scoring drought, then another was added by Mikko Rantanen on the power play to end that drought as well. St. Louis did pull to within 2-1, but you had the feeling the Avs were in command of this one. A couple more goals in the 3rd and that was all she wrote. The line shake up we saw in practice is exactly what we saw in the game. Hello Riley Tufte and Kurtis MacDermid, goodbye (for now) Tomas Tatar and Jonathan Drouin. But should we expect that for the Avs next matchup this weekend against the mighty Vegas Golden Knights?Tune in, subscribe and enjoy!Subscribe to our Subtext to talk to us directly!https://joinsubtext.com/lockedonavalancheFollow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…
Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
Sometimes the right opponent comes along to get you back into your groove. Was it all pretty? No, but most of it was, and it was more than enough for the Colorado Avalanche to get past the St. Louis Blues relatively easy, 4-1. A first period goal by Ross Colton ended the team scoring drought, then another was added by Mikko Rantanen on the power play to end that drought as well. But should we expect that for the Avs next matchup this weekend against the mighty Vegas Golden Knights? Tune in, subscribe and enjoy! Locked On Avalanche - Daily Podcast On The Colorado Avalanche
Avalanche hockey returns in the preseason format. The Colorado Avalanche took the ice for the first time this preseason against the Minnesota Wild, and while the final score (4-3 loss) never matters in the preseason, there of course were good and bad things to take out of the matchup. The good for the Avs? The Ross Colton, Miles Wood and Tomas Tatar line is going to be problems for opposing teams. It might take a few games for the three of them to get fully on the same page, but once they do you can see how they will cause fits on both ends of the ice. Riley Tufte is not making it easy for Jared Bednar. Tufte is making a strong case for himself to be inserted into the opening day roster. And if the Avs have an injury that they feel might be better to sit a player out a few more games or weeks, you can be certain Tufte will be the guy to hold that spot. We break it all down in today's episode, so tune in, enjoy and subscribe!
