Power, deception, and a body count—this week, we're diving into the deadly history of murderous monarchs who ruled with an iron fist (and sometimes a bloody sword). Needless to say we're exposing the royals who took 'absolute power' a little too literally. Then, we're breaking down all the backstabbing, blindsides, and betrayals from The Traitors reunion. Who owned their treachery? Who's still salty? And who should have just kept their mouth shut? Grab a cocktail and prepare for some serious shade!

Full Moons are usually a fulfillment and release and the Cancer Full Moon on Jan 6, 2023 is likely to be a release of shocking news that shakes our sense of security and safety but leads to growth and rebirth after. The Chandra symbol is: CANCER 17 A woman working busily at a spinning wheel. Trance states as natural evolution. Being inside the inside, yet staying under and weaving a web in time of remembrance and forgetfulness and remembrance. Deeply involved with the personal, yet coldly detached from whatever does not serve. Persuading, teaching, invoking, insisting that what comes next, comes next, that we must get on with the dance. This is a penetrating sensibility which finds what can be brought forward and fosters it all-pervasively. The collective voice of conscience at her post, attentive and scrutinizing. A void in terms of letting everything be, and an immense force to follow the thread of growth and development all the way through, catching every stitch. NonCensored is a weekly round up of Harriet Langley-Swindon's very popular, very real daily radio show, completely non-Censored (but with all of the rubbish edited out). This week Harriet and Producer Martin are joined by the leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, who makes some pretty newsworthy comments about Just Stop Oil. They also speak to the host of the breakfast show on Sports Horn about his upcoming work in Qatar, and Senior American Expert Eshaan Akbar explains the mid-term election results. There's also an extended interview with geneticist, university lecturer and broadcaster Adam Rutherford, who says some pretty unacceptable things about Winston Churchill being racist. He also repeats some things that Winston Churchill said, which some listeners may find offensive. Ian Fiveankles' podcast, Sports Horn, is available to listen to on all podcast platforms now. Adam Rutherford's book, Control, is available now from all good bookshops and also from Amazon. There is a scene in Mel Brooks' movie History of the World Part II where he is playing King Louis XIV and he's surrounded by several suggestively dressed women. He looks at them and then looks at the camera and says, “It's good to be the king.” It was meant to be a sexually subversive statement for comedic effect, but it was realistically spot on, at least for Ahaserus it was. When Mordecai plead with Esther to go to the king and beg for mercy on behalf of she and her people, she was very worried. The king had made a rule that no one was allowed to come see him unsolicited without risking their lives to do it. If he was in a bad mood, he could have you put to death just for coming to see him, and Esther knew this applied to her as well. At least, she was afraid it would, and she had Vashti as an example she didn't want to repeat. This also shows just how disengaged the king was. There is no better way to insulate yourself from reality than to make everyone afraid to ever come and bring you bad news. This is exactly what this bizarre rule would have accomplished. Some years had passed since Esther became queen. When she was young and beautiful, the king adored her, but now she had put on a few years and it seems the king had found some newer and younger girls to keep him entertained. He hadn't called for her to come and see him in a month. The implication here is that the king wasn't going without, just going without Esther. Much like Mel Brooks' King Louis XIV, it was good to be the king in the worst possible way.Esther had her attendant tell this bit of incredibly embarrassing personal information to Mordecai, so that he would understand that she just couldn't risk going to see the king. What would you have done in Esther's shoes? How would you have felt?--------------Esther is simultaneously a victory and a tragedy. In some ways, If you look at it through a modern lens, it should be called the Victory of Mordecai and the Tragedy of Esther. Esther loses her parents and then is taken into the harem of a despotic king to be used as he wishes. Mordecai ends up, like Daniel, a very high official and ruler in his expatriated land. This will be a great study of Esther as we look at the emotions, the world and the meanings of one of the most cherished, and often misunderstood books of the Bible.-----------LINKS----------Support 10WB on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/10weekbibleThe 10 Week Bible - http://www.10WeekBible.comTwitter: @DarrenHibbs - https://twitter.com/DarrenHibbsSign up for my newsletter - http://www.darrenhibbs.comGet a copy of the 10 Week Bible Study today - https://www.amazon.com/Darren-Hibbs/e/B00B4I47CE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl2&tag=darrenhcom0a-20&linkId=401f3d79974c70929517936977e32df9My other YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChUU0XHSHuhSyN8qk-7efYgTake the survey and win some great fun stuff at www.10WeekBible.com today.Support the show
