In hour one of Dover and Cecil, the guys kick off the show by reacting to the Broncos roster after cut day. Who made the roster? Who got the boot? How many of those players are coming back to the practice squad? Do we think the Broncos made a mistake letting go of their 5th-round pick? They made a decision with their running backs; do we think they made the right one? Will Mr. Irrelevant still be on the Broncos' practice squad, or will someone pick him up? Are you surprised they kept 3 QBs? We hear from George Paton. Is he worried that the guys he let go will be signed to another team's practice squad? Why did he waive Justin Joly? What reason did he give for keeping 3 QBs? Cale Makar signed the biggest contract in NHL history on Friday. What does that do to the timeline for the Avs? 0:00 - George Paton spoke last night after all the roster cuts. He was asked if the TE room showed him enough during the preseason, or if he needs to see more. Also, as of right now, the Broncos kept all 3 QBs on their roster. Brett thinks this is pointless. You really only need 1 backup, because if Bo gets hurt again (god forbid), you're screwed no matter who's backing him up.15:45 - Peyton Watson went on MPJ's podcast and shared his side of the story. He said he felt pressure last season to return from a hamstring injury that wasn't fully healed. Also, some people are mad about Cale Makar's monster contract extension because of the price tag. It's the most expensive contract in NHL history. When you have a player of Cale's caliber, you pay the man. It's that simple.33:07 - Oh, by the way...can Hollywood have an original thought? Or are we just gonna get infinite remakes/reboots of the same stuff forever?Oh, by the way...as far as we're concerned, Cole Carrigg can flip off as many Braves fans as he wants.Oh, by the way...Geoff Schwartz responded to Sean Payton's Twitter "clap back," as the youths would say.

It's the largest contract in NHL history. And yet, Brett still thinks it's a team friendly deal for specific reason.34:15 - It's official. The worst kept secret in football is finally happening. Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement and returning to our coworkers, the LA Rams.

On deck: (5:27) Is it a foregone conclusion that the Los Angeles Rams will be Super Bowl Champions? After the re-signing of star DL Aaron Donald you would certainly think so. I'll get into why that may or may not be the case as the season kicks off next Wednesday. I'll also chime in about the key roster moves yesterday as teams trimmed their rosters down to 53. (23:59) The Yankees win three of four against their heat rivals from Boston and take the season series. Why this is crucial and what this means for both teams down the road. Plus, the latest in the sports when it comes to the pennant races and MLB is trying to toss the idea of having a free agent frenzy similar to the NFL & NBA? (44:28) We've had a huge upset at the US Open, which kicked off yesterday. Novak Djokovic loses in five sets due to ailments as he couldn't get out of the first round. What does this mean for the men's side of the tournament, especially the return of Carlos Alcaraz? NOTE: I forgot to talk about the MLB schedule for the early part of the week in the baseball segment, as well as, catching you up on the standings too. My apologies there. (1:03:59) College football is back in our consciousness as the season quietly begun on Saturday with Bill Belichick's UNC team topping TCU in Dublin for its first win. (1:04:39) The NHL has the first even $20 million dollar man as the Avalanche sign defenseman, Cale Makar, to an eight year deal. Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck has asked to be traded, but where is he going with training camps set to open in two and a half weeks? (1:08:45) Scottie Scheffler wins the FedEx Cup for the second time in three years. Does he still deserve to be the #1 golfer in the world after not winning a major Grand Slam tournament this year? (1:11:00) Umar Nurmagomedov was shockingly upset in China by Song Yadong on Saturday as he was KO'd in the second round. And MUCH more in between. We review the Morning Show's gripe with one of our questions and try to beat their 2-2 performance from earlier today.
