The greatest threat facing Christians is not war. It is not political upheaval. It is not even the collapse of Western civilization. The greatest threat, John-Henry Westen warns, is the Great Apostasy, the loss of faith spreading from within the Church herself.Drawing on the warnings of Pope St. John Paul II, Padre Pio, the seers of Fatima, and a host of saints and mystics, Westen argues that modern Catholics are living through a fulfillment of prophecy. Not the kind of prophecy that predicts earthquakes and wars—those have always been with us. The prophecy that should terrify every believer is the one that foretells shepherds becoming wolves, doctrine dissolving into ambiguity, and the faithful being told that sin is not sin and truth is not truth.Westen does not mince words: Pope Francis and Pope Leo have departed from historical Catholic teaching. The synodal path, the blessing of same-sex couples, the downgrading of abortion as a priority, the attack on the Latin Mass, all of it points to a Church that has turned against itself.HELP SUPPORT WORK LIKE THIS: https://give.lifesitenews.com/?utm_source=SOCIAL U.S. residents! Scripture warns of a Great Apostasy. Our Lady of Fatima promised that her Immaculate Heart would triumph, but not before a period of suffering, confusion, and persecution. Father James Altman joins John-Henry Westen to argue that the signs are all around us: a Church in crisis, a hierarchy lost in ambiguity, and a world preparing to welcome a false savior. The conversation spans Fatima's delayed consecration of Russia, the ignored request to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart, and the prophecies of saints like Hildegard, Padre Pio, and Archbishop Fulton Sheen. Sheen, in particular, foresaw that the laity would one day restore the Church while clergy and bishops abandoned their posts.Altman is blunt: this is not the time for complacency. The synodal church, the replacement of confession with "listening centers," the normalization of sin, the silence of cardinals, all of it points to a spiritual collapse foretold centuries ago. But prophecy is not meant to inspire fear. It is meant to prepare. The end is not the end of the world. It is the end of the world. And for those who remain faithful, the triumph of the Immaculate Heart is already certain. The question is whether Catholics will be ready when the Antichrist makes his entrance.HELP SUPPORT WORK LIKE THIS: https://give.lifesitenews.com/?utm_source=SOCIAL U.S. residents! Ethan Muse is here to make watertight arguments for how the Marian apparitions of Fatima, the stigmata of Padre Pio, and the Lanciano Eucharistic miracle, each naturalistically inexplicable, collectively vindicate the core doctrines of Catholicism, such that rejecting all of them as fraud, coincidence, or demonic deception becomes increasingly implausible. The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/031226.cfmFather Daniel Klimek, PhD, addresses the reality of spiritual warfare, explaining that life involves a cosmic battle between the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Hell. Too often, the Gospel is watered down to a horizontal message of kindness, yet Christianity calls believers to a vertical relationship with God that empowers horizontal love. This deeper reality gives life eternal meaning as part of a great epic story, including a long battle between light and darkness.Father Daniel discusses the devil appearing to saints like Padre Pio, John Vianney, and Faustina, wise Christians who saw that praying for others infuriated the enemy and frustrated the designs of hell. Our Lady of Fatima revealed to the three shepherd children a vision of hell, explaining that many souls are lost because no one prays or sacrifices for them. Through prayer, fasting, and the Rosary, the faithful can help Jesus and Mary save souls from the grasp of the demonic.Believers should hope, not merely for mercy on the day of judgment, but to stand before God with thousands of souls saved through their intercession. Our particular jobs or state of life matters less than the universal vocation: Christian discipleship, which is meant to be lived so that we are each a radiant light bringing souls to Heaven. Saint John Vianney heard the devil say, "I hate you, Vianney, because you have taken more than a thousand souls from me."Temptation comes from three sources: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Not every temptation originates from the devil, and using him as a scapegoat is unhealthy. A strong spiritual life — daily prayer, frequent well-prepared reception of the Eucharist, spiritual reading, and custody of the senses — cultivates an interior life within a spiritual fortress that weakens concupiscence (the tendency of our fallen human nature toward sin).Rather than reciting prayers solely at day's end, believers should pray throughout the day. Invoking the sacred names of Jesus and Mary invites their presence. The final words of saints often include these names, showing intimacy with our Lord and Our Lady. Nothing should be done without them. ★ Support this podcast ★

The end times are not announced by earthquakes or wars alone. The greatest sign, Fr. James Altman warns, is the apostasy unfolding inside the Church itself.Joining John-Henry Westen, Fr. Altman draws on the warnings of Our Lady's apparitions, Quito, La Salette, Garabandal, and the testimony of exorcists like Fr. Gabriel Amorth, who witnessed Padre Pio's anguish over the loss of faith spreading through the Church's own leadership. The crisis is not external. It is internal. And it has now reached the papacy.Fr. Altman does not mince words: what Francis began, Leo continues, a deliberate "new religion" clothed in Catholic language, advancing modernism as Pope St. Pius X foretold. The promotion of Cardinal Fernández, the attack on Marian titles, the doctrinal ambiguity, the moral compromise—all of it points to a schism not yet formalized but already real: a rupture between the conciliar church and the Catholic faith. The call is not to despair but to persevere. To grow stronger daily. To remain faithful even as the crisis deepens, trusting that God will act, and that the Mother who warned us will not abandon her children.HELP SUPPORT WORK LIKE THIS: https://give.lifesitenews.com/?utm_source=SOCIAL U.S. residents! Fourth Sunday in Ordinary TimeOften times the word blessed means successful, comfortable, and secure. In Jesus' sermon on the eight Beatitudes it seems Jesus speaks of “blessed,” as those who seem… unlucky. It may come as a surprise but Jesus equates blessed to be poor, meek, mourning, and persecuted. To desire suffering or glory for its own sake is not the point rather faithfulness in following God's will. Padre Pio reminds us, "blessed is the crisis that made you grow, the fall that made you gaze up to heaven, the problem that made you look for God."Scripture Reading for February 1, 2025Zephaniah 2:3; 3:12-13Psalm 146:6-101 Corinthians 1:26-31Matthew 5:1-12
"I wasn't even sure I believed in God. But when I saw the miracle of the sun with golden raindrops falling off of it, I knew that God existed and that he loved me." ---------- In the Bible, the number forty shows up when something is being tested, purified, or prepared. Forty days. Forty years. It is never random. It is the stretch between what God promises and what finally comes to life. When the music that bubbles up in my head began to take me back to a story from 40 weeks ago, I pushed back. Why would I do that? Wrong question. Just trust. OK. This episode returns to the conversion story of Michael Campanelli, a man who went to Medjugorje not even sure he believed in God. What happened there was not flashy or emotional hype. It was uncomfortable. A call to confession. A confrontation with long buried sin. A moment of grace that broke through his resistance and changed the direction of his life. That moment became a turning point. Skepticism gave way to surrender. Confession led to healing. And eventually, Michael found himself helping guide others on pilgrimages through his Padre Pio ministry. This is not a rerun. It is a return. Forty weeks later, what was planted has been tested long enough to begin bearing fruit. ---------- Share Your Story If you have a Touched by Heaven moment that you would like to share with Trapper, please leave us a note at https://touchedbyheaven.net/contact Our listeners look forward to hearing about life-changing encounters and miraculous stories every week. From the timelines of going through the emotions associated with grief to even how we seek help and who we seek help from. Questions Covered: 02:51 – What are your thoughts on ancient civilizations like Atlantis and Lemuria existing 10,000 years ago and ending up destroyed sending civilization into the dark ages. The theory is survivors from those civilizations spread out through the world in brought technology to build the great wonders like pyramids and temples. 17:06 – Are there, as some people think, a race of folks who are inherently evil through their DNA because they are descendants of either Cain, the giants, or both? 28:53 – Why do you think Jesus instituted the Eucharist with bread and wine, instead of something like lamb meat (and blood?)? 32:57 – Is it theoretically possible for the saints to save ‘everyone' through ‘time travel prayer', so that hell ends up being empty? 39:55 – Do SOME catholic priests perform remote viewing on people during confession? Padre Pio or the Cure of Ars for example 47:24 – How many bison have been sucked into tornados? 48:49 – Is the “Angel of the Lord” in the Old Testament, Jesus? 52:02 – Opinion question: assuming human beings on Earth are the only intelligent life in creation, if a total extinction event were to occur, would you expect time in this reality to continue on (our sun eventually maturing into a Red Giant etc…) or would you expect the general physical resurrection to be triggered by the last human death?

Discover practical ways to implement this discipline, from resisting gossip to navigating foolish arguments, all while understanding when speaking up is an act of love. This episode will challenge you to put down the world's weapons and pick up the heavenly weapon of trust, transforming your relationships and your walk with God.
Read OnlineAt that time: Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them. Matthew 15:29–30Why did Jesus perform so many miracles when He walked the earth? The Church Fathers and saints offer various insights. His miracles were personal acts of compassion, expressions of divine love welling up within His human Heart. They were also testaments to His divine authority, reinforcing His teachings and instilling faith. Additionally, Jesus' miracles fulfilled Old Testament prophecies and served as powerful metaphors, such as the healing of physical blindness, symbolizing the gift of spiritual sight. But why don't we see similar miracles today? In many ways, we do. Throughout history, miracles have accompanied the ministry of great saints. Saints Francis of Assisi, Vincent Ferrer, and Phillip Neri, to name a few, were known for the countless miracles attributed to them during their lifetimes and through their intercession after their deaths. More recent saints, such as Saints Thérèse of Lisieux, Faustina Kowalska, Padre Pio, André Bessette, and Charbel Makhlouf have also been credited with miracles, both during their lives and since their deaths.Miracles often accompany saints who have entered into profound union with Christ through prayer and service. These saints, filled with compassion, become channels of God's healing grace. Their miracles give credence to their ministries and fulfill Jesus' promise: “Whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12).If you desire to see miracles, strive for holiness. Though the sanctity that seems to make miracles a normal part of life is extraordinarily high, it is achievable by God's grace. For the saints, the goal was never to perform miracles; miracles were simply a by-product of their burning love for God and others. Reflect today on the fact that God desires you to become as holy as the greatest saints. He wants His divine charity to overflow from your soul into the lives of others. The holier you become, the more God can use you as His instrument, sometimes even through miracles. Strive to be one of those rare saints whose union with God transforms the world with love. My miraculous Lord, though the gift of salvation far exceeds the value of miracles, You have used miracles to reveal Your compassion and deepen our faith. Please make me holy so that I can become a greater instrument of Your grace in whatever way You choose. Jesus, I trust in You.Image via Adobe StockSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved. Used with permission via RSS feed.

In this episode of The Cordial Catholic, I'm joined by author Mary O'Regan to talk about one of the most incredible, influential, and mind-boggling saints out there, our very favourite, Padre Pio. Mary begins with her own amazing story of Padre Pio, a near-death experience, and some life-changing visions – and from there, it gets even weirder! Mary is a wonderful storyteller and brings to the fore the life and works of Padre Pio including his incredible ability to help convert souls to Catholicism, he extraordinary graces in the confessional, and what it means to be a "spiritual child" of the great Padre Pio – a saint who lived a miraculous life under the scrutiny of modern science! For more from Mary check out her blog and get a copy of her book Padre Pio and You from Sofia Institute Press today!Send your feedback to cordialcatholic@gmail.com. Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need anything more? Let nothing else worry you or disturb you." - Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego"The endurance of darkness is the preparation for great light." - St. John of the Cross"Some of you are about to start the new year with Heaven opportunities. Some so big it might intimidate you...but jump. The Lord is saying to take that leap of faith and jump into the new. The old season has died, and that's why you feel so uncomfortable. Allow it." - @Godlywaiting"There is a mother who is embroidering. Her son, sitting on a low stool, sees her work, but upside down. He sees the knots of the embroidery, the tangled threads and says, 'Mother, what are you doing? Your work is not at all clear.' The mother lowers the embroidery frame and shows the good part of her work, each color in its place and the variety of threads forming a harmonious design. We are seeing the reverse side of the embroidery; we are sitting on the low stool." -St. Padre Pio
