Check Out the RicFit Academy App FREE Here: https://www.ricfitacademy.com Dennis Chin is a 35 year old professional footballer who played as a forward, who just recently retired about 1 year ago.  He is now a Licensed Agent under his company Chyn Sports and works with his partner, Giuseppe Gentile to help lead their players' on a successful career path through football.  Dennis played his college soccer at Division 2 powerhouse, Rollins College before being discovered on the "streets" by an Orlando City scout.  He was invited to open trials with Orlando City. After spending 2 months on trial, he finally signed his first professional contract.   In December 2011, Orlando signed Chin to a contract extension through the 2014 season. Moving into his second season, Chin's confident play towards the end of his rookie year certainly carried over into his second term with the club. Dennis transitioned from his super-sub role, held in year one, to become the primary goal-scorer for Orlando City. Chin's first goal came just three minutes into their first game of the season against the Charlotte Eagles, and would set the tone for the kind of year he was about to embark on. All season long, Chin's pace and finishing ability caused problems for opposing teams' back lines and led to the striker scoring 11 goals during league play, which was a team record. Those 11 goals were also good for best in the league and saw Chin finish as Top Goal Scorer and Scoring Champion (27 points) of the USL Pro in only his second season as a professional.  Dennis also has experience in Denmark, Israel, and Canada.  Listen to the episode for his excellent advice and bits that young players need to hear. If you want to connect with Dennis, I am sure he is more than willing to answer your questions:  https://www.instagram.com/dchin15/

This week, first up, Matt Pollard returns to join Sean and talk lots of soccer, in fact the first two hours of the show are all dedicated to the round ball. We talk about the LA Galaxy going all-in on Steven Gerrard. Then we switch to New York and discuss the Frank Lampard situation, how that affects NYCFC, and Mix Diskerud joining the team as well. After that, for the last 1 hour and 30 mins, Gary then joins Sean to go over the NFL Divisional Round games and preview the Conference Championship Games too. We discuss the NFL coaching carousel and all the moves that have been made since last week. There's also the NCAA College Football Playoff game to talk about, Cardale Jones decision, and even some NBA trade talk too.
It was a day of new beginnings in Philadelphia on Thursday as the MLS SuperDraft made its yearly splash. Andrew, Simon and David were on the ground to give you the complete wrap from the draft, with exclusive audio from proceedings that saw Canuck U-20 Cyle Larin taken first overall, Cristian Roldan fall down the board and Marcelo Sarvas traded. Of course, in Toronto, big news was going down with Jozy Altidore and Jermain Defoe. It wasn't pegged as a bloody big deal, rather a shrewd move to replace one unhappy striker with a younger, North American one. But should US fans be unhappy the Yanks biggest stars are landing in the #WeTheNorth? The guys talk that and Sasha Kljestan, who appears headed for LA. In the mailbag, it's clear USL PRO played a large role in Thursday's SuperDraft proceedings. What's next? Also, the guys give Mix Diskerud advice on where to live and admire Pablo Mastroeni's incredible mustache.Email us at ExtraTime@MLSsoccer.com or tweet us at @ExtraTimeRadio. And make sure you check out our West Coast brethren at March to the Match every Wednesday!

It is MLS SuperDraft week, and that means that it is time for our yearly chat with Top Drawer Soccer's Travis Clark, the expert on all things college soccer. We talk about Cyle Larin, Cristian Roldan, and the other top players in the draft, the depth (or lack thereof) of talent in this draft, and the various goalkeepers in the draft (and where D.C. United should take them). We then ask Travis about picking for need versus picking the best available player, the Generation Adidas class this year, prospects from around greater DMV area, the effect of USL PRO, and whether or not there are any D.C. United Academy players who might sign soon. After we bid farewell to Travis, we turn our attention to D.C. United news. We talk about SB Nation's mock SuperDraft, the signing of Markus Halsti, how Halsti will fit in with Perry Kitchen and Davy Arnaud, the callup of Steve Birnbaum and Perry Kitchen to the USMNT, the Concacaf Champions League, and United's coaching changes. It is a jam-packed show, so give it a listen! Note: There is some joking about the Metro in this podcast, before we knew the full seriousness of the tragedy. We apologize for the tastelessness of the joke.
It's that time again. Snow is on the ground, you can justify being covered in glitter to your wife without her suspecting you've been at the strippers, and fat people feel that they're festively plump. And that can only mean one thing - it's the start of AFTN's end of season roundtables. Episode 88 reunites your usual co-hosts Michael McColl and Steve Pandher, AFTN writer Jay Duke (briefly), and Curva Collective's Zachary Meisenheimer and Steven Lamothe, to discuss the first two months of 2014 from primarily a Vancouver Whitecaps perspective. Surprising no-one, we kick off in January and look back on the Camilo saga, Robbo's management team, the SuperDraft, the additions of players like Steven Beitashour and the USL PRO partnership with Charleston Battery. Away from the 'Caps we also look at the CSA's strategic plan and the possible bid for the 2026 World Cup. Training camp opened and the Caps made a couple of preseason trips in February, first to Arizona and then on to Cascadian rivals Portland Timbers. Playerwise, Nigel Reo-Coker, Omar Salgado, Andre Lewis and Matias Laba got tongues wagging for various reasons. And there's still time to look at the breaking news of the week, the excellent re-signing of Mauro Rosales and hear from the man himself. Have a listen!

The Seattle Sounders lost to the Vancouver Whitecaps, failing to claim the Cascadia Cup in the process. Despite the loss, they remained even with the Galaxy in the Supporter's Shield race thanks to some help from FC Dallas. We discuss the Whitecaps match and look ahead to the two-part season finale against the LA Galaxy. We also take time to discuss Don Garber's meltdown over Jurgen Klinsmann's latest anti-MLS comments, and offer opinions about the arrival of the new USL Pro team, Seattle Sounders 2. There's also plenty of listener questions to answer.

Episode 81 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Soccer podcast, is a Vancouver Whitecaps v FC Dallas postgame show. We pick over the bones of the 'Caps back to back home wins, that leaves them still with a narrow one point lead over Portland in the battle for the last playoff place in the West. There's locker room audio from Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson, David Ousted, Sebastian Fernandez, Kendall Waston and Mauro Rosales, along with Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja. And there's still time for some Whitecaps news and notes, as we chew the fat on Omar Salgado, USL PRO, Russell Teibert and the Canadian men's national team, and the Whitecaps Residency.
Vancouver and Portland are locked in a Cascadian battle for a playoff spot. First the guys break down who they think will make it to the big show, then 'Caps head coach Carl Robinson joins the show to discuss scoreboard watching, big-money DPs, Omar Salgado's situation and USL PRO. By the sounds of it, fans in British Columbia could see an offseason influx of talent. The race in the Eastern Conference is no less compelling, in fact it's downright brutal. See why plenty hinges on Friday's DC-SKC clash. And of course the guys have to talk Landon Donovan after his revealing interview with Grant Wahl. What might his Jeter moment be? Is he a viable MVP candidate? And what's next? Last, but certainly not least, listeners take Simon to task for his MLS snobery, wonder why PK misses matter so much and the guys choose MLS' best MC. Email us at ExtraTime@MLSsoccer.com or tweet us at @ExtraTimeRadio. And make sure you check out our West Coast brethren at March to the Match every Wednesday!
David gets the show started by coming through in the clutch, then the guys turn to the business at hand: playoff races that are only going to heat up from here on out. How will the Portland Timbers deal without their captain Will Johnson, who is set to miss six months? Should Sporting KC be afraid of the Revs? Is Vancouver finally making good on their promise? Best team in MLS? Some say Seattle. Some say LA. Either way, Andrew says LD is breaking the assist record sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, in USL PRO, the title has already been won. We promised Preki, and we delivered. The Sacramento Republic FC coach talks championship celebrations, Toronto FC, and his own future in a wide-ranging interview. See how close he thinks his current squad is to competing in MLS. Last, but certainly not least, the mailbag is back, with listeners demanding the ScoreBorg, inquiring about tiebreakers and wondering about the state of the academy system. Email us at ExtraTime@MLSsoccer.com or tweet us at @ExtraTimeRadio. And make sure you check out our West Coast brethren at March to the Match every Wednesday!
He's headed to Tottenham, he could end the season with a Seattle treble and now DeAndre Yedlin is No. 1 in MLSsoccer.com's 24 Under 24 series. Things are good, and Yedlin joins the guys to talk Super Smash Brothers (again?), Latvian passports, his least favorite thing about fame and plays some word association as well. While Seattle have clinched their playoff spot, Toronto FC are still on the outside looking in. It's Greg Vanney's job to get them there, and he'll soon have Jermain Defoe back for the chase. Meanwhile, it seems Michael Bradley's role has changed, and Toronto may make some news on the USL PRO front soon. Last, but certainly not least, USL PRO president Tim Holt is on to talk what appears to be a very bright future in the lower divisions. He says there could be as many as four to six additional MLS standalone sides in his league next season. Find out who by taking a listen! Email us at ExtraTime@MLSsoccer.com or tweet us at @ExtraTimeRadio. And make sure you check out our West Coast brethren at March to the Match every Wednesday!
Episode 80 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Soccer podcast, looks back at a very busy, and at times disappointing, week in Whitecapsland. There was the good - the signing of tow homegrown players. The bad - the failure to convince New Westminster to be the home for the Caps' USL Pro team. And the ugly - Vancouver head to Portland this weekend to face Will Johnson and co. We bring you all the chatter from training this week in another raw audio heavy episode. We hear from those homegrown signings, Marco Bustos and Kianz Froese about their new MLS deals and we get the thoughts of Whitecaps coach Carl Robinson on the pair. Those were the only two signings announced on Monday before the MLS roster freeze and Whitecaps President Bobby Lenarduzzi tells us why and talks about the USL Pro situation, the season run-in and more. Keeping with the young theme we hear from Christian Dean about his first MLS start in last week's game against Dallas and from the guy that scored Vancouver's goal down there, and who everyone hopes is going to go on another streak, Erik Hurtado. Turning attention to back to the remainder of the MLS season, we hear from Robinson and some of the players about being in a full playoff mindset already and how each of these remaining six games is already basically a playoff game if Vancouver want to reach the postseason once again. Robinson also looks ahead to this weekend's big Cascadia Cup clash in Portland and we hear from some of the players - goalkeeper David Ousted, centreback Andy O'Brien and midfielders Matias Laba, Mauro Rosales and Russell Teibert. A busy show for a busy week!
Episode 25: San Jose draw, FC Dallas preview, and USL Pro
Episode 22: Victory over D.C., Seattle preview, and a USL Pro discussion
It's Episode 74 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Soccer Podcast, and we're in a celebratory mood. Not just because the Vancouver Whitecaps beat Sporting Kansas City to get back into the playoff places in the MLS Western Conference, but also because this podcast was recorded on the 25th birthday/anniversary of when AFTN first began as a fanzine back in Scotland on August 10th 1989. So a special day for AFTN and a special day for the Whitecaps, who got back on track and finally stopped drawing. We pick over the bones and the highs and lows of the game and hear audio from both locker rooms, both coaches and a number of the players. On the Whitecaps side we hear from head coach Carl Robinson, goalscorer Darren Mattocks and goalkeeper David Ousted. And from Kansas City, we have a good chat with their head coach Peter Vermes (one of the best coaches to chat to in MLS in our opinion), their penalty-saving goalkeeper Jon Kempin and All-Star defender Matt Besler. And there's still time to look at whether the Whitecaps should/will make any further additions to the squad before the roster freeze, the USL Pro town forums and Canada's potential World Cup bid for 2026. Have a listen!
It's episode 71 of the AFTN soccer podcast and your usual co-hosts Michael McColl and Steve Pandher are joined by Harjeet Johal to look at the latest happenings in Vancouver Whitecapsland. We look back at the Goats' slaughter. Chivas came into BC Place and left with a 3-1 victory but what was the main cause? The heat, Jordan Harvey's sending off, switching off at the start of the second half or the inability to take their numerous chances created? We hear post game audio from Caps' coach Carl Robinson, goalkeeper David Ousted and Vancouver scorer Carlyle Mitchell. Looking ahead to the tough two game road trip coming up, we ponder what changes Robbo should make and discuss the big question of whether the current Whitecaps squad is good enough to make the playoffs as we look at what desperately needs strengthened in this summer transfer window and which current players should move on. And there's still time to chat about the other big happenings this week - the Caps' new USL PRO team, Marco Bustos accepting a call up to Chile and playoff heartbreak for the U16s. Have a listen!

Carl Robinson was officially confirmed as the new Whitecaps head coach today, so we're bringing you a Robbo heavy episode 31 of "There's Still Time", the AFTN Vancouver Whitecaps podcast. We chat about Robinson's appointment, what it means for the future direction of the Whitecaps and hear a cutdown section of his introductory press conference. Even though he had a jam packed morning, Carl made time to sit down with Steve and myself for a special podcast chat about his appointment, his managerial influences, who he might have his eye on to bring in, what his team will look like, the future for the young players at the club and lots more. And talking of the younger players, everybody agrees they need to find them more playing time, but where will they find it? We speak with Whitecaps President Bobby Lenarduzzi about whether the Caps will be getting their own USL Pro team any time soon. Have a listen.
