1Corinthians 12:1: “Concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.” 1Cor 12:31, 14:1: “Earnestly DESIRE the best gifts... Pursue love and DESIRE spiritual GIFTS.” We need to KNOW what God's Word teaches about these gifts, and this will cause us to DESIRE these gifts to operate in our lives, so that the Spirit may flow through us to bless others. When we DESIRE to be used in the gifts, we will make ourselves AVAILABLE to the Spirit, for Him to manifest Himself through us. “The Manifestation of the SPIRIT is given to EACH ONE for the profit of all. To one is given (1) the WORD of WISDOM through the Spirit, to another (2) the WORD of KNOWLEDGE through the same Spirit, to another (3) FAITH by the same Spirit, to another (4) GIFTS of HEALINGS by the same Spirit, to another (5) the WORKING of MIRACLES, to another (6) PROPHECY, to another (7) DISCERNING of SPIRITS, to another (8) different kinds of TONGUES, to another (9) the INTERPRETATION of TONGUES. The SPIRIT works all these things, distributing to each one individually as HE WILLS” (v7-11). *The 3 REVELATION GIFTS (Spirit of knowing): (1) The WORD of WISDOM, (2) the WORD of KNOWLEDGE, and (3) DISCERNING of SPIRITS. These involve supernaturally KNOWING things by the Spirit, that we could not know otherwise. *The 3 POWER GIFTS (Spirit of doing): (1) Special FAITH, (2) GIFTS of HEALINGS, and (3) WORKING of MIRACLES. These involve doing things by the supernatural power of the Spirit, that we could not do by our own faith or ability. *The 3 VOCAL, INSPIRATION or UTTERANCE GIFTS (Spirit of speaking): (1) Different kinds of TONGUES, (2) the INTERPRETATION of TONGUES, and (3) PROPHECY, when the Spirit speaks supernaturally thru someone, a message from God, under the Spirit's inspiration. CESSATIONISM is a false teaching that says these supernatural gifts are no longer for today, for God stopped giving them once all the apostles died and Scripture was completed. But the Bible says these gifts will continue until Jesus' Return. 1Cor 1:4-8: “you were enriched in everything by Him in all UTTERANCE (the utterance gifts) and all KNOWLEDGE (the revelation gifts), even as the testimony of Christ was CONFIRMED in (among) you (by the power gifts in signs, wonders and miracles), so that you come short in no GIFT, eagerly waiting for the Revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Thus, all the GIFTS will continue to enrich the Church until the END of the Church Age, when JESUS will be REVEALED to us in the Rapture. Jesus said: “these (supernatural) SIGNS will follow those who BELIEVE: in My Name they will cast out demons (a POWER gift); they will speak with new tongues (an UTTERANCE gift); they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover (all examples of POWER gifts)” (Mark 16:17-18). He also said: “he who BELIEVES in ME, the WORKS that I DO he will DO also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12-13). He promises as we go in obedience to fulfil the Great Commission, He will be WITH US providing supernatural confirmation of the Gospel, and will continue to do this until the END of the CHURCH AGE (Matt 28:18-20). The Last Days started at Christ's Resurrection and continue throughout the Church Age into the Millennium. Acts 2:16-19: “This (outpouring of the Spirit) was spoken by Joel: “It shall come to pass in the LAST DAYS, says God, that I will POUR out of My SPIRIT on ALL FLESH; your sons and daughters shall PROPHESY (an UTTERANCE gift), your young men shall SEE VISIONS, your old men shall DREAM DREAMS (these are REVELATION gifts). And on My menservants and maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall PROPHESY. I will show WONDERS in Heaven above and SIGNS in the earth beneath (POWER gifts).” The purpose of this outpouring and associated supernatural Signs is given in Acts 2:21. He then explained how Joel's Prophecy came into fulfilment in Acts 2:32-33, and how they could receive this promise of the Spirit and His gifts in their own lives in Acts 2:38. Based on Joel, he declared this Promise of the Spirit and His gifts is for ALL BELIEVERS in the LAST DAYS, including all future generations in the Church Age (Acts 2:39). So, to say the gifts are not for today contradicts God's Word. 1Corinthians 13:8-12: “Love never fails. But whether there are PROPHECIES, they will FAIL; whether there are TONGUES, they will CEASE; whether there is (a WORD of) KNOWLEDGE, it will VANISH away (the GIFTS will pass away one day). For we know IN PART and we prophesy IN PART. But WHEN that which is PERFECT has come, THEN that which is IN PART will be DONE AWAY....For NOW, we see in a mirror dimly, but THEN FACE to FACE. NOW I know IN PART, but THEN I shall KNOW (perfectly) just as I also am known.” As far as we are concerned, the gifts will only pass away WHEN we enter into PERFECTION (v10), which is defined as being when we see the Lord FACE to FACE at His Return - then we will have perfect knowledge (v12).
For anyone growing up in a Christian church, the name Mary Magdalene would be familiar. The first person recorded in the four Gospels to see Jesus after the resurrection, her true role as an apostle has been mainly lost over time, replaced by a persistent image of her as a penitent prostitute and sinner. In today's episode, I will be in discussion with playwright Sylvia Milo, the mind behind the new play Magdalene: I am the Utterance of my Name. Hosted on Acast. In charismatic circles, the "word of knowledge" is spoken of much, confidently defined, and often illustrated through narrative examples in Scripture or personal anecdotes. But is the common understanding of this manifestation of the Spirit what Paul meant when he listed the "utterance of knowledge" in 1 Corinthians 12:8? Join us in this lively discussion and enlightening sharing as we search the Scriptures to find what this grace endowment truly is.
In this exciting episode, we begin our examination of the grace endowments classified by Paul as "the manifestation of the Spirit." The apostle begins his list with "the utterance of wisdom." Popular works have classified this manifestation as "the gift of wisdom," but what does the context of 1 Corinthians show this manifestation to truly be? Join us as we take this refreshing, textually driven view of this much ill-defined Spirit-empowerment.
IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYER WITH CHRIST. PART 8. THE UTTERANCE OF A PROPHETIC PEOPLE IN PRAYER. LUKE 19 5. THE APOSTLES SAID TO THE LORD, “INCREASE OUR FAITH!” 6 AND THE LORD ANSWERED, “IF YOU HAVE FAITH THE SIZE OF A MUSTARD SEED, YOU CAN SAY TO THIS MULBERRY TREE, ‘BE UPROOTED AND PLANTED IN THE SEA,' AND IT WILL OBEY YOU. The nature of the days we live in is expressed through various degrees of the works of the flesh. The enemy in this season is doing everything within its power to crown the flesh as the lord and king of our desires and decisions. We are responsible for not allowing this anti-Christ spirit to dominate our appetites and life's decisions. The flesh, our old Adamic nature, always seeks to take the front seat of our decisions. It seeks to be known, accepted and celebrated regardless of how or where such praises come from. The flesh seeks to be elevated, just as the Spirit of the Lorcallsng the ecclesia to come up higher to that mountain of representation. We must learn to engage ourselves in activities that govern the flesh to remain under the influence and authority of the redeemed spirit. We cannot depend on the power of the flesh to fight and correct the flesh; the same flesh will eventually defeat us. We must learn through the place of waiting in the Spirit to deepen our knowledge and wisdom in Christ, which can only be accessed through a lifestyle of deep spiritual brokenness that produces humility. There are enemies today sneaking into our space and empowering even believers with the ideas of the soulish knowledge and wisdom that comes through the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. We must deliberately shift away from depending on methodologies and the ways of this world we have accepted. We must flee from the lying spirit, which says investing in our spiritual development is a waste of time. This is the Battle of the last days, the Battle of whom we will yield ourselves in submission and obedience, and the battle has already commenced in full force. If we yield ourselves to the desire of the flesh, we will reap corruption, but if we yield ourselves in obedience to the prompting of the Spirit, we will certainly produce the fruits of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. As we understand what it means and how to live a life of the spirit, we will begin to gain profound ascendancy in the spirit and power of true kingdom advancement in the place of fasting. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/isaiah-phillips-akintola/message

19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
A prophecy, a prayer, and a praise. Many times, God uses the physical realm as a prophetic model of what He plans to do in the spiritual realm. This has recently happened at our church. In Job, God instructed Job to pray for his friends as they made a sacrifice to God because they mis-spoke about God to Job. In doing so, God doubly restored all Job's losses. Focusing on others is paramount to our own healing. Praise God for the entirety of the Bible, the logos, which is the inspired word of God. But, the work of the Holy Spirit is to enlighten the RHEMA of the word to our hearts; the RHEMA are those words that make an UTTERANCE to our spirits, and have IMPLICATION to our lives, thereby building the faith that comes by hearing the word of God.
In this lesson, Pastor Dale teaches on the three gifts of the Spirit often referred to as the "utterance" gifts, as each "say" something. These three gifts are: the Gift of Prophecy, the Gift of Divers Kinds of Tongues, and the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues.
The Holy Spirit is the custodian of the culture of the heavenly tribe and He orchestrates the language of the Spirit by granting the utterance necessary for the Words of the Spirit.Acts 2:1 - 4Utterance is a divine protocol that enables a person to speak acceptably and in alignment with a superior oracle.Utterance is a supernatural authorization that grants access to spiritual dimensions of truth and formulates them in languages that are potent to carry the life embedded in those truths. It is a spiritual seal that the Holy Spirit grants to authenticate the words we speak. There is a 2-fold RECEIVING of the SPIRIT: (1) WITHIN, at the New Birth (Romans 8:9), and then (2) UPON - the BAPTISM in the SPIRIT. (1) The Spirit WITHIN is for our personal holiness. (2) The Spirit UPON is to EMPOWER us to fulfil the Great Commission. It is a separate experience that comes after salvation. Old Testament Prophecy said when Messiah comes and brings in a New Covenant, it would include a greater ministry of the Spirit for all believers - the 2-fold Promise of the Father: (1) The Spirit WITHIN for their blessing and holiness (Ezekiel 36:26-27), and (2) the Spirit UPON, to empower them to be a blessing to others (Joel 2:28-29). John announced the Messiah as the One who will bring this Promise to fulfilment. He was the first to use the phrase ‘Baptism in the Spirit', so his description is definitive. He compared it to Baptism in Water: “I BAPTISED you IN WATER but He will BAPTISE you IN the HOLY SPIRIT” (Mark 1:8). When a man is BAPTISED (immersed) IN WATER, the water covers (envelops) him, so it is UPON him. Likewise, when Jesus BAPTISES us IN the HOLY SPIRIT, we are immersed in the Spirit, so we are covered and clothed with the Spirit UPON us. We see this 2-fold experience of the SPIRIT in the life of Jesus, our example: (1) He was conceived of the Spirit, and had the Spirit WITHIN, enabling Him to live a perfect human life, (2) He was BAPTISED in the SPIRIT, when the SPIRIT came UPON Him to supernaturally EMPOWER Him for His ministry (Luke 3:21-22, 4:18). Only after the Spirit came upon Him did He start preaching, healing and working miracles (John 2:11). The same Jesus, who was BAPTISED in the Spirit also BAPTISES us in the SPIRIT (John 1:32-33). Thus, He was BAPTISED in the Spirit as our representative (receiving the Spirit on our behalf), so He could then BAPTISE us in the Spirit The apostles also had a 2-stage experience of the Spirit, as (1) on the day of the resurrection, He imparted the Spirit into His disciples. This was their new Birth, when He gave them the Spirit WITHIN (John 20:22, Gen 2:7). Then He started to prepare them to also (2) receive the Spirit UPON, to be His witnesses, 50 days later at Pentecost (Luke 24:46-49). He gave them the same instructions 40 days later in Acts 1:3-5,8. Although they had already received the Spirit WITHIN, they had not yet received the SPIRIT UPON (Luke 24:49), called the BAPTISM in the SPIRIT (Acts 1:5). So, what they experienced at Pentecost, when the Spirit came UPON (Acts 2:1-3), was the BAPTISM in the SPIRIT. The Spirit came UPON them (v3) and “they were all FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT" (v4). In the New Covenant, anyone who receives the Spirit UPON has previously received the Spirit WITHIN, so He must come upon us from within, and so fills us from the inside (v4). When we dedicate to do God's will and fulfil His mission, we receive His Spirit to come UPON us by FILLING our SOULS and taking control of our tongues, the control centre of our body (Jas 3:3-4). So: “they were all FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, and began to SPEAK with TONGUES, as the SPIRIT gave them UTTERANCE (the words)” (Acts 2:4). When we pray in tongues, we YIELD our TONGUE to God, speaking the words the Spirit gives us. In this way, we submit our body to the Spirit, and allow Him to come upon us. Then as we continue to pray in tongues, we maintain and deepen that surrender, keeping the Spirit active upon us. Acts 2:4 is a key verse describing the Baptism in the Spirit. Speaking in tongues was the outward evidence and sign the Spirit had FILLED them and was now UPON them in POWER. What the disciples received at Pentecost was the BAPTISM in the SPIRIT (Acts 1:5), and this is confirmed by the Gentile Pentecost in Acts 10-11, when Peter explained the SPIRIT had come UPON the Gentiles, just as He had come UPON the Jews at the Beginning (Pentecost), and that both events were fulfilments of the Lord's prophecy in Acts 1:5 of the BAPTISM in the SPIRIT (11:15-17). We also see this 2-stage experience of the Spirit with the Samaritans in Acts 8, who had received the Gospel and were born again (v14,16), but had not yet RECEIVED the HOLY SPIRIT, in that, He had not come upon UPON them (v15-16). But later when the apostles laid hands on them, they RECEIVED the HOLY SPIRIT upon them (v17), which was manifested outwardly (v18-19), even tongues. Their experience proves the Baptism in the Spirit is different from and subsequent to salvation. They had received salvation through the Gospel, but had not yet received the Spirit upon, for there was no outward evidence (tongues), until the apostles prayed for them. So, to receive the Baptism in the Spirit, we must (1) be born again with the Spirit within. Then (2) we must surrender to God to fulfil His mission, which allows His Spirit within to fill us and come upon us with power, so as we obey Him His Spirit flows out through us as rivers of life (John 7:37-39).
