Matthew 8:28-34In this series of Gift Day talks, we explore a vision of generosity that is tied to our long term dream – to partner with God for the renewal of London. We believe the Church is God's plan to bring salvation and hope to our world, recognising that we are totally dependent on him to see transformation in every area of life and society. For this, we need a hunger for God in four areas: Heart, Home, Church, and City. We explore how these are the ‘altars' on which God's revival fire burns, as we seek his Presence for the renewal of our city.
In this emotional Mussar Masterclass (Day 108), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe begins with a heartfelt plea for prayers for his newborn preemie grandson (Tinoch ben Mi'ira bat Zahava) in the NICU in Jerusalem, dedicating the session to their speedy recovery. The class concludes the Gate of Remembrance in Orchos Tzaddikim with the final three remembrances:Always investigate and ask questions deeply—never rely solely on childhood understanding of Torah; as intellect matures, revisit and enrich knowledge (illustrated by stories of Rav Moshe Feinstein's meticulousness and sensitivity).Remove excessive love of this world and intensify love for Olam Haba—physical pleasures and spiritual growth cannot coexist; this world is solely a tool to invest in the next (via mitzvot, teshuvah, and using possessions for holiness), as fire and water cannot share a vessel.Remember accountability before Hashem—we will be judged not against others, but on whether we maximized our unique potential ("Why weren't you you?").Accept afflictions with joy—they are merciful "slap on the wrist" instead of the death penalty we deserve; teshuvah and small sufferings are gifts of divine kindness.Rabbi Wolbe weaves in awe-inspiring modern miracles (e.g., the May 4, 2025, missile landing harmlessly near Tel Aviv airport) as open reminders that Hashem alone controls everything—not technology, military, or human effort—urging constant gratitude and recognition of divine protection.Recorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on May 5, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on December 23, 2025_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! In today's reading, Michael Blair reads through Galatians 4:4-7, encouraging us to embrace freedom and adoption, celebrating the Savior's birth this Advent season.
John continues looking at what Jesus says about giving with two seemingly contradictory parables. We also hear from Rev'd Clare Dowding, Rector of St Paul's Marylebone, where the money from the gift days will be going.
John looks at Matthew 6 and how we can fully rely on God to provide for us.
WMGD - 1: Andy Angel talks on World Mission Gift Day Ephesians 4:17-32 & Matthew 28:16-20 read by Gordon Wilkinson & Brenda Wilkinson. Playing time: 83 minutes.
This Sunday we gave to our Life Church Gift Day. Reading from Acts 4, Si Munsie addressed the relationship we have both with God and with the 'stuff' around us. The early church had been so radically effected by the grace they had received in Christ that it had wonderfully changed their relationship with their belongings. By grace, the same can be true for us.

For our 2024 Gift Day, Adnan Khan looks at Jesus' teaching on Mammon from Luke 16:13. We unpack what Mammon is, how it opposes the abundant life God intends for us, and how our generosity as disciples resists Mammon's power.
For our 2024 Gift Day, Joel Wade unpacks the enigmatic parable known as the Shrewd Manager, and how stewardship and generosity are part of what it means to follow Jesus.
For our 2024 Gift Day talk, Helen looks at the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal, and how Elijah rebuilt the altar of God before pouring out a costly sacrifice upon it. We consider what is of worth to us, what we have bowed the knee to, and how we rebuild God's altar in our own lives while longing for Jesus to meet us through his Spirit with revival fire.
Throughout the month of November, we ran a giving campaign into caring for our city and the most vulnerable around us. The money given will enable the CARE team to deliver many initiatives we are involved in, in our local area

Mission - 1: Natasha Rayan talks on World Mission Gift Day Colossians 1:1-14 read by Samuel and Joshua. Playing time: 80 minutes.
Steve this Sunday preached from 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 for our Gift day where we look to accelerate the work of the Kingdom of God in our town, our nation and in our hearts as we look at the topic of generosity and sowing.
Each year we take two opportunities to look at the church finances and where the money we give is being spent. John speaks from Matthew 6 when Jesus instructs his disciples on how to give.
Next week and the week after we will be having our Spring Gift Days. Chris looks at a passage from Acts to give us some principles for how we are going to pray and give, so we can continue to press on in our mission to be ‘Bringing Life to Every Community'.
On Commitment Sunday, Frances explains that being a follower of Jesus is not a spectator sport.
This week John finished our mini series on generosity and giving by looking at Philippians 4. How can we fully rely on God for all of our needs and follow in the example of Paul to be content whether we have a lot or very little.
John, our vicar, looks at the letter Paul writes to the Philippians (Phil 4:1-9). Twice a year we hold services looking at money; what it means to give generously, how we can stop money becoming a ruler of our lives and how giving enables St Mary's to offer various ministries for the congregation and the local community in times of uncertainty.
Series: Thanksgiving and Gift Day
The Bible teaches that God loves a cheerful giver. In this talk from our Gift Day, Lars talks about the principles of joyful generosity - trust, obedience, sowing, and reaping.
This Sunday, David helped us prepare for our Gift Day by looking at the story of Elijah and the widow at Zarephath found in 1 Kings. We're encouraged to learn from the widow's example - to give out of faith rather than fear, to trust God with our future, and to give our whole hearts to Him.
Jenny, our Head of Children and Families, gives the talk on giving generously in our second Gift Day service.
What does Jesus say about giving? John, our vicar, gives the talk on what it means to be a generous person in our Gift Day service.
We're back to take a look at the wild flash challenge that had a Justice Winslow pay off. We also prep for the S1 reserve pack drop.
Cindy tells Mike in the Morning its all about Family when it comes to homemade gifts.
