Sam and Bobby broke in the brand new podcast studio in at WCTV by sitting down with the Moron brothers - Franck, Jevon and D'sean - teammates on the varsity basketball team at Shawsheen Tech High School in Billerica, Mass. The trio - Franck, a senior; Jevon, a junior; and D'Sean, a freshman - are teammates for the first time in their lives for the Rams, currently ranked 3rd in the Massachusetts D3 Power Rankings after finishing the regular season at 18-2. The brothers talked about where their love of hoops originated from, what it's like having a season playing together, and the pursuit of a championship.

How I Got Here with Dave Fiore

Host Dave Fiore speaks with Mike McCall, chief meteorologist at WCTV, a position he has held for more than 30 years. Mike caught the weather bug in 1977 at age 12 when a legitimate snow blanketed his hometown of Tampa, and he says everyone lost their minds. To encourage his interest, his mom arranged a trip to a local TV station where Mike met the man who would offer him a job a decade later after he earned his meteorology degree from Florida State. Another lifelong passion was ignited around the same time when Mike noticed an employee air drumming to the thumping music at a local skating rink. He got a snare drum the next Christmas, started taking lessons and was soon rocking out to Van Halen and Styx. Mike's love of percussion paid off in other ways as well as it led him to the FSU Marching Chiefs where he met his wife, Mallory, on the Big 8 drumline. Mike shares candidly about the emotional stress of his profession, being wrong sometimes and dealing with the helpless feeling of being right but knowing people are still going to get hurt. Finally, Mike talks about his dreams for the future, which includes staying in front of the green screen during the week and maybe finding a gig in an ‘80s cover band on the weekends.

Deputy Troy Anderson pulled over a car one night for an average car stop. Before he could sense any threat the suspect fired a gun twice and shot him in the face and hand. It was a rural area far from help and an off duty deputy, near the area, cleaning the patrol car heard his call for help on the radio. The suspect was later killed in a shootout with a civilian while invading that person's home.  Deputy Anderson had no way of knowing that the driver was a a registered sex offender. And according to investigators was hell bent on violence. "I truly believe he had an evil mindset and his thought process was to kill and destroy innocent people," Dixie County Sheriff Darby Butler said about Miedema at the same event. "Fortunately, he did not succeed in that." Troy tells the horrifying story of the shooting and the wonderful medical professionals that saved his life.   One of the images in podcast cover from WCTV.
