Ohhhh…THIS episode. It's UH-MAZ-ING!! It's that good because my guest is one of the wisest, kindest, and most generous of women shining her brilliant light on the planet right now, Janet Conner. The re-release of this episode is for two reasons. The first is that a new edition of her book Writing Down Your Soul was released in July 2021. And, in honor of that, Janet is teaching a brand new course on her book, something she hasn't done in years. I really wanted to share this with you.
From time to time, I am opening this space and my podcast to reviews of books that fit into the categories of positive thinking, and manifestation, as well as related spiritual and new-age works. Today, I am opening this space to a new discovery of mine: Writing Down Your Soul by Janet Conner. This book has impacted my spiritual journaling routine quite a bit, and very unexpectedly. If you prefer to read a transcript of this podcast, visit my website Daily Positive Quotes! It is such a delight to bring you this podcast with one of my spiritual teachers, Janet Conner. Join us to learn about the prayer practices and rituals that have sustained Janet through the pandemic and continue to help her connect to the Divine. Janet Conner is a prayer artist, deep soul explorer, field guide in The Mystic, and mistress of the mystical theta brain wave state—the threshold between worlds. But first and always, Janet is a devoted daughter of the Feminine Divine and Original Prayer. Put it all together and you can see why many consider Janet a 21st century wise and wonder-filled witch. Her first book, Writing Down Your Soul, became a bestseller, followed by The Lotus and The Lily, Soul Vows, Find Your Soul’s Purpose and more. When “Prayer Artist” came calling, Janet found herself writing a whole new genre of prayer, redefining prayer altogether, and leading radical prayer intensives with fellow female mystics. She launched the Praying at the Speed of Love podcast to host intimate conversations with authors about their private prayer lives. Although she can hear the trees in the Hudson River Valley whispering her name, for now Janet lives with silence, solitude, and joy in the tiny town of Ozona, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. https://janetconner.com/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/5questionspodcast/message

Oh, I could fill this whole page with incredible quotes from our conversation but here's one that captures it beautifully:"There are parts of me and parts of you and parts of all of us that are hungry for connection with the source of wisdom within whether it comes through prayer, meditation, deep soul writing, swimming laps, going for long walks in nature. There are so many ways to get out of your conscious mind and connect with the voice of wisdom within. And knw know that."Janet Conner We have all of our answers. Our soul knows what direction we should take, but we've got to actually ask the questions. In this episode, we discussed:How Deep Soul Writing started - and there's a puppy in the story!Examples of the connection between deep soul writing and deep soul readingWhy getting your ass in the chair and writing is the MOST important step to connecting with your inner wisdomThe power of questions to begin the conversation on the page. We live a hurried, jam-packed life. The days and months fly by in a flurry of routines and commitments. We're constantly in motion with a never-ending onslaught of distractions to occupy our minds and hearts. Tuning into ourselves has become nearly impossible. But in my experience, the only way to live an awakened, authentic life is to find space for reflection and time to tune in. We need to come home to ourselves and take ourselves off autopilot. With love, compassion and zero judgement, we need to wake ourselves up. For me, a daily centering practice is an amazing wake up tool. Be YOU anytime, all the time! Lori has worn many hats from being a kindergarten teacher where we know “you really learn all there is to know”, right? to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker LCSW. At the age of 48, she decided to get a Master’s degree and opened a private practice. Also, during that time, she was also involved with Hospice as Bereavement Director for 10 years. As coaching came into prominence, she completed a year-long coaching program and became a coach with the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara specializing in Adult Self- Renewal and Developmental Growth. You might call her a life-long learner – she is even a laughter yoga instructor, so she has a broad range of skills to choose from to help people make changes and reinvent themselves. Let's take a look at Lori's journey: Lori's mother left their dad when Lori was just 3 weeks old. To support her and her brothers, Lori's mother enrolled in a beauty school while they stay with relatives. Lori was 3 years old when her mom opened a beauty shop in their house. Being a toddler, Lori just wants to be by her mom's side and see all the actions in the beauty shop but her mom kept “shushing” her to her room and she doesn't understand why. That made a huge impact on Lori. She felt like she's a bother, felt lonely and alone. Lori feels she's unwanted. She learned perseverance from her mother so she decided that she wanted to go to college. Not a lot of women do that during those times. Lori went to their family doctor and asked him if he could loan her money for college. The doctor agreed but Lori's mother didn't know what she did. When her mother found out she was going to college, her mother said it's not a good idea because she might lose her religion. Lori took up Psychology because she knew that's what she needed to help herself understand things. It's her path to understanding herself. Be you all the time! “To be true to yourself means to act in accordance with who you are and what you believe. If you know and love yourself you will find it effortless to be true to yourself and to be YOU all the time. Just as you cannot love anyone else until you love yourself, you cannot be true to anyone else until you are true to yourself. Begin by not being afraid to be who you are! As difficult as it may seem at first, have the courage to accept yourself as you really are, not as someone else thinks you should be. Do not take action or pretend to be someone else for the sake of gaining acceptance.” By Z. Eighth Container of Love: The Invisible Our host blesses the day she stumbled upon Lauralyn Bunn while researching the theta brainwave state for Writing Down Your Soul. She doesn't think she could have written any of her books or explored the fields of the soul so deeply without the guidance from the masters and teachers of the Akashic Record. (See Find Your Soul's Purpose, loop five, for their mind-bending explanation of how to change the past by not wanting to change it!) Lauralyn is a world-class consultant and trainer of the Akashic Records, and it is our host's great honor to invite you to sit with her as they probe the wisdom of the Records for guidance that can feed us right now.

Big Question: How can I open to possibility? My listeners know Writing Down Your Soul is a powerful tool to awaken the “extraordinary Voice within.” But what other methods open your internal wisdom? Elaine Clayton, author of Making Marks, is an artist, children's author, illustrator, and intuitive psychic. Everything she does is about seeing with your third eye. We all have access to this third-eye wisdom through intuitive drawing. It's playful, it's delightful, it's easy, and it's astonishingly evocative—mysticism with a colored pencil! What a way to open to possibility.
Janet Conner is a popular writer, teacher, and speaker with a simple message: Everyone has innate spiritual intelligence. We just need to know how to activate it. In her first book, Writing Down Your Soul: How to Activate and Listen to the Extraordinary Voice Within, Janet shared the simple process anyone can use to activate that inner voice, engage in vibrant dialogue, and access the guidance you need to create the life you are here to live. Writing Down Your Soul is now in its third printing. It enjoys a 5-star rating on Amazon and two and a half years after publication is the #1 ebook in the journal writing category on amazon and often the #1 book as well. A million people around the world read Janet’s feature article, “How to have a conversation with God” last year in the Daily Word. Conari Press, just published My Soul Pages, the unusual companion journal to Writing Down Your Soul. Janet lives in Ozona Florida, where she teaches the five telecourses in the Your Soul Wants Five Things series. She is currently working on her next book, The Lotus and The Lily.
Hear our special guest, Janet Conner, describe how “writing down your soul” allows you to “activate and listen to the extraordinary voice within.” We’ll explore how you can use this technique in your practice of the elements of Universe Responding to gain clarity for your constructive thoughts, to strengthen your belief in your Higher Power, to open another avenue for listening for messages, to remove fears that keep you from acting, and to express gratitude. In addition to her popular book, Janet has also written for Daily Word®.
Janet Conner did not set out to be a spiritual writer or teacher. She earned a BS from Marquette University in Speech Pathology and an MA in Education of the Deaf from Northwestern University. Her first career was in special education. In 1982, she created the first videojournalist recruitment program at CNN. After she and her husband moved to Florida, she ran a division of an international search firm. But then, everything changed In 1997, in the midst of a lucrative consulting career, her marriage imploded and her life disintegrated overnight into wearing a police call necklace, keeping 911 predialed on her cell phone, and occasionally taking her young son into hiding. Out of sheer desperation, Janet poured her soul onto her journal every morning, describing what was happening in ghastly detail and demanding--demanding!--help. Here's the important part of the story: Help came. Every day. Sometimes in the form of direction, but often in the guise of questions she hadn't been willing to ask. Janet discovered that when she asked hard questions, the voice responded with rich, profound guidance. Like Hansel in the fairytale, Janet faithfully followed those bits of wisdom until, three years later, she and her son were safe, her business was restored to six figures, and she was able to purchase a new townhome. Those were the changes the world could see, but Janet knew the really big changes were inside. The gifts that came through deep soul writing Through her daily soul writing, she discovered Spiritual Geography, the seven country spiritual-healing process that heals the broken heart. One Sunday in March, 2001, she had a deep conversation with the voice. "I am ready to forgive," she wrote, "show me how." That afternoon she wrote, "Finally Forgive," a prayer of complete and total forgiveness.
