Welcome Back to Blue Moon Vibes! The podcast that makes you laugh a lil' bit, cry a lil' bit, and think a lil' bit! My goal is to be the one that gives you more than you asked! I hope you can find value in these topics, and they become something that you talk amongst your friends and family about! Don't shy away from challenging issues because that is where growth happens! The change you want to see is the change you must create! We are worthy, we are tenacious, we are strong, and we are purposeful! The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! Not Goodbye, but See you Later It's The End Hello, my friends. Well, we have been together for a while now, but there comes a time when you just need a break, and that time has come for me. I am mentally exhausted, my friends. I have so many things going on, and I have chosen to take a step back from everything for a moment just to regroup. Now, this does not mean that I am letting go. This does not mean that I am quitting; what it means is that I have reached a point where I don't feel I am giving it my all, and I don't want to just put anything out there for you guys. I want it to be enjoyable and something you can talk with your family about. I have been going on 1000 for almost nine months with no break and hardly any rest, and I am about to break, so I'm going to step away before I reach that point. I didn't just want to vanish and not give you guys some reason because I feel like we are friends, and you all should know. So as the title says, it's not Goodbye; just see you later for now. Right now, I plan to return in July, provided all goes well and I am back to myself. If not July, I will post the updated anticipated return date on my socials, so make sure you all are following so you don't miss that update. Life is unpredictable sometimes, and some things we just can't control. We have to be in-tune enough to know what those are and strong enough to bow down and accept our rest. So just know, I'm taking rest for me to be better for you and THE BEST I CAN for everything! See you all soon :-) Social Handles Insta: All. that. Regrets It's Series 15, Episode 4 Happy Saturday, beautiful people; we are almost in a new month, and we are finishing up season 15! Can yall believe it's Gonna Be May... of 2022 already? I swear it seems like just yesterday amazon was out f essentials because of Covid! Man, time moves fast! We begin today's show with the conclusion of our biggest regrets. As you will hear in the beginning, my one regret still bothers me, and it rears its head every now and then. I want to let you all know that whatever that thing is that keeps nagging at you, do it! Don't let people talk you out of your passions. If your heart is set for it, go after it; sometimes, we value the opinions of those we love so much and many times over our own that we regret the one thing we allowed them to talk us out of. From there, we go into the best trip of your life and what it was? Let us know in the comments. What has been the best trip of your life up to this point? And if you haven't had one, where do you dream of going? During our discussion, you will hear my excitement over Lady Dee's answer and why. Also, you will hear Pbid's story and how we will top his! We then talk about the lack of common sense in society. What makes us d the things we do? Knowing they can possibly harm us? Is it the adrenaline, or is it the social media clout? And then we discuss why society is so judgemental? Is it the projecting of our thoughts and insecurities onto others? What do you all think? Let us know! Is it true that regardless of what happens or what we do, there will always be a level of judgment from others? Why? /we end it with Lady Dee's question of the day! Let's get it on, Neva Scared, Knuck If You Buck! And we will catch yall next Saturday. Social Handles Insta: All. that. Diving right into the continuation of our question of who inspired us the most growing up. As you all will hear, no particular person inspired me; more events inspired me. Lady and PBid Dee will share who inspired them and how. Inspiration is funny; we can be inspired by something, people, or circumstances. As we grow and learn, we can take instances in our lives and latch on to them like a leech and use what they taught us to make better decisions and maybe help the next person. PBid wants to inspire himself, and he will share with you how he does so. We then move on to our biggest regrets! What about you all? What has been your biggest regret, and what have you learned from it? Regrets, like inspiration, can be learning experiences. Regrets can also be the inspiration; they can inspire us not to make those mistakes again and motivate us to push harder! This gets a bit deep for us. Lady Dee shares her story and why she regrets the decision she made. PBid shares why he wishes he hadn't poured so much into hopeless situations. As you will hear on today's show, we all believe that our path is what our path is, and the only person that truly knows is GOD. We can sometimes pour so much into someone until we have nothing left. Be sure that you preserve your peace and protect your mental health because you only have one body. I share with you all my van-life desire and its outcome. I also want you all to know not to let people tell you how to live your life. You only have one life to live, and I don't know about you all, but I don't want to live with regrets. It's Series 15, Episode 2 We are back at it, wrapping up For The Culture on giving Gap; if you are wondering who Giving Gap is, check out last week's episode. You will hear our vastly different responses and why we feel that way during the show. Rounding off our discussion with Giving Gap, we dive into the workforce. Would you guys take a job for less pay if you knew you could earn more? What about you guys? Let us know in the comments below! I am not sure if I would or wouldn't listen to find out my reasoning. Knowledge is power, and let nothing stand in your way of obtaining such. In that same breath, while I believe we should learn as much as possible in whatever position we are currently placed in, I am at a crossroads as to whether or not that includes me being paid less. During this discussion, we uncover that your decision is up to you. To connect the two, we ask, if you had to do it all over, would you choose the same career path? You will hear questions such as, Do I enjoy what I am doing? Will I have been further along? For me, talk about my journey to reach my current goals. This brings us down a rabbit hole of college fall-throughs. Here you will learn about my many mistakes and what I have learned from making these mistakes. Lady Dee, as always, drops her knowledge gems again; just wait! We close this episode out with, growing up, who inspired you the most? Lady Dee and Pid have rejoined us for this season. So we began with catching you all up on our week. As you will hear, Lady Dee now does three jobs, and Pid Bid got an award! We can't believe it either, guys! We all know that PBid is a fantastic teacher, and it is well deserved. We will kick off each season with our For The Culture segment from now on. This season, we have Giving Gap, a non-profit organization supporting other non-profits. Giving gap gives support to non-profits who need it the most. Giving Gap boasts a strong foundation of 5 moral principles that drive its organization. Amplifying Black Organizations We use our platform and resources to amplify the critical work our fellow Black-led organizations are doing. By elevating visionary organizations, we connect them to key people opening doors for opportunities, funding, and partnership. A Community-Focused Approach We work to build collective power through the community as a bottom-up organization. We listen, seek input, are accountable, and use data to understand more deeply. As an intersectional group representing a vast array of causes, we work to find common ground that serves as a foundation for all to build off of. We empower each other to do better, work smarter, connect with more people, and raise more money. Collective Black Brilliance We are proudly Black-led and exist to support Black leadership and help Black leaders shine. We are intersectional and inclusive and honor the diversity within the Black community — working to uplift individuals along with our collective. We believe in building allyship across lines of difference to celebrate and lift Black brilliance in rooms and spaces where it has been absent. We celebrate the genius of our community, operate from a place of abundance, and believe in radical joy. Aligning Money & Morals We help people put their money where their morals are. We work to create cultural and mindset change for those interested in advancing racial equity, facilitating behavior change in how people are giving, who they're giving to, and the causes they're supporting. Enabling Measurable Change We aim to encourage and enable people to take action for Black lives. By facilitating tangible ways for people to donate, volunteer, and partner with Black-led organizations, we work to close the racial giving gap. In my opinion, it is very humbling and heart-warming to have such a robust organization. Being a new non-profit and trying to navigate the nuances of the world of entrepreneurship, I am grateful for organizations like Giving Gap that gives me a voice and a platform to stand on. In today's time, as a black woman seeing the slowly closing gap of racial inequality in specific sectors makes me so happy. in the same breath, it reminds me that we still have work to do, but our progress is not in vain. The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! The Creator of Your Circumstance It's Series 14, Episode 4 As we conclude this series, we round off our discussion of if we are entitled to live a prosperous life? We begin with asking ourselves, are we placing ourselves in an optimal position for success? If your circumstances are not going as well as you would like, are you making an effort to adjust your approach to achieve that ideal lifestyle? On the other sides, if your circumstances are going phenomenally, what are you doing to ensure they only get better from their current point? As we all know, sometimes challenging situations can hit us like no other, and we sometimes find ourselves in a metaphorical space of defeat. Let's not stay there; let's acknowledge the emotions and move on. If we allow the unfortunate temporary instance to dictate our performance, we will neglect our true calling and prolong our destiny. We are building the life for our legacy; what does yours look like? I want you all not to seek out happiness; I want you all to seek out joy! Find something that not only brings you happiness but makes you joyful, as joy is something that belongs to you and can not be taken away. In our joy, let's not pour toxic positivity into our lives. Know that things happen but don't downplay the realness of hardships. In our ups and downs of life, we are strong enough to overcome anything. Your dreams matter. You matter, and someone needs what you offer! Social Handles Insta: All. that. It's Series 14 Episode 4 Welcome back, beautiful people; on today's show, we will conclude our discussion around what freedom looks like for you all. I will correlate this with Dr. Martin Luther King I have a dream speech. As we all want to be free and experience the unshackled reality of true freedom, what do you all think Dr. King's idea of freedom was? We then move on to the feeling of freedom. In the previous question, we defined what freedom meant to us; now, we talk about if our definition of what it means to be free aligns with our current life experiences. I share with you all what my definition of freedom is, and then I let you know if I feel my purpose aligns with my life. As I navigate through life's intricacies and try and figure out my place in the vast world, I realize that time is the only thing that will allow me to see the fruits of my faithful labor. I know that currently, my definition of freedom and my life don't align, but I live for the day that they will, that I can devote myself fully to running and growing my non-profit and shaping it into the powerhouse for change that it is meant to be. We then cap it off with whether or not you believe we are entitled to live a prosperous life. Our life is what we make it. Although the road isn't always paved with roses, we can still emerge victoriously Social Handles Insta: All. that. As we continue our discussion on innocence vs. ignorance, this leads us into ignorance is bliss. What do you guys think? Do you believe it's best to be happy and not know anything or be cautious and have the knowledge? Let me know in the comments. We then move into whether or not people consciously choose to do wrong, but then I have a revelation, people DO decide to do wrong. We then move on to fear; remember when Paid and lady dee said, the world hasn't gotten more dangerous people have gotten less fearful. this leads me into discussing what fears I have; I believe that fear gives us a level of perception. What about you all? What fears do you have? Don't have the proper tools to execute effectively, or do you not believe you have the strength to overcome your fear at all? For me, I think I am strong enough; I am just not sure if I have the proper technique to overcome them. For me, failure is a thing I can learn from. I know that I have a purpose, so I have to constantly tell myself that I can conquer this. I then move on to the truths about myself. What I mean by that is even in my fear of failing, not being good enough, etc. I know that without a doubt, God gave me this vision, and it is up to me to do the work to make it real. Even when I doubt myself in the direction and the choices, God will be with me. What about you all? There are so many times that people will try and knock you down, but it matters not what they say. It matters what you believe. We then move on to what the term freedom means; for me, it means to think, be, exist and live on your terms. What about you guys? It's Series 14 Episode 2 Great day people, Today it's just you and me, and we will be talking about The Fountain City Difference Project. What is that, you ask? Well, that is a great question; stick around and find out. We will discuss our upcoming event, Splash Jam, and its community benefits. You may have heard us talk about this organization before. The Fountain City Difference Project is my non-profit. We are committed to bridging the divide that cripples our youth and their future by equipping them with the power of choice. Our organization believes that we will one day live in a world where no child's life is lost at the end of a gun, at the hands of an aggressor, or because no one listened. We feel it is vital to allow children to ask why because it gives them preception—having the ability to ask why lets them think. Children are the most inquisitive beings, so why stifle that creativity with a muting" because I said so." That is what we are here for, to give them a safe outlet to ask why to understand why certain behaviors are dangerous. We want to do our part in providing them with a future they can see and a legacy they can be proud of. Our new For the Culture segment will continue to highlight black-owned non-profit businesses so that we can stand together and support each other. We will further talk about the concept of innocence vs. ignorance. In my opinion, as stated on the show, innocence is unknowingly doing the incorrect thing while ignorance is knowingly doing the wrong thing. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments. What women in your life or otherwise would you like to celebrate this month? I'll go; first, it will ALWAYS AND FOREVER be my mommy! She was the greatest ever! Let me know in the comments what woman or women you are celebrating this month! Alrighty, on today's show, we round off our discussion of what it's like to live your truth, and LadyDee hits us with the cliche of being true to yourself! But, is that so wrong? my question to this is how do you live your truth? What do you guys think? I thought I knew, but lately, I think I've been a bit confused. As LadyDee said, to live your truth, you have to know who you are as a person, what you want in your life, and where do you see yourself going. She says peace is her truth. We then move on to introducing our new segment, For the Culture. As you will hear, this will be a moment for us to highlight Black-owned non-profits and for-profits to bring their excellent work to the forefront and share their missions with the community. We support everything black as long as it's positive, and we have seen there are so many non=profits run by black people that we had never heard of before, and chances are if we hadn't, then someone else hasn't either, so this will be the time to learn about them. You're Fired It's Series 13 Episode 4 Welcome back to day 26 of Black History Month; before we get into the day's discussion, I want to share with yall a video I saw on Instagram; this video was re-posted by mrshenry1115. This fact I did not realize until I read the comments. The video was of a white baby girl dressed in what appeared to be a christening ensemble, and a man who I presume to be her father was recording. In the video, the man recording says, in a way I can only imagine was intended to be comical-mark missed-" Get that Fu%$*%g stupid s%*t of my daughter, She looks like she's ready for a Fu%$&*g Harriet Tubman meeting." Now, when I saw this, I knew due to the current climate of the world and the degree to which people are capable of defending; the comments were going to be a mix of emotions, sentiments, and statements: "I cackled so loud." "I'm sorry, but I laughed so hard at this." "You might want to delete this, not a good look for you or the fact that it's black history month and you have a man using Harriet Tubman in a negative tone. Are you serious with this" "Well...looks like we are divided on this one. Was it just a joke about the dress being outdated, or did the dress remind him (the dad) of what he believed runaway slaves wore and thought it was ugly? Either way seems like an odd thing to say to describe a child in what looks like a christening gown." Y'all let me know in the comments your thoughts. This is the video. In today's show, we continue our discussion on fear and its relation to the idea of danger, real and perceived. Lady dee says that the world hasn't necessarily gotten more dangerous; the people have gotten less fearful, therefore creating and exacerbating the idea of crime. We then abruptly shift gears to lighten the mood to talk about if you have ever been fired. As you will hear, Lady Dee and PBid have not been fired, now Jazz, on the other hand...Just listen, that's all! Social Handles Insta: All. that. A Lack of Fear It's Series 13 Episode 3 Happy 19th Day of Black History Month. First, I want to express my appreciation for your continued support of foolishness and seriousness at the same time. We started this podcast because we wanted to share our thoughts and viewpoints on what impacts our lives daily. Our goal here will always be to be genuine, to be honest, and to be relatable. We want you all to know that we are just a few friends having fun and talking about life, and we hope you can relate. Make sure you share it with someone if you laughed at one of PBid's statements, or if one of Lady Dee's comments made you think, of if Jazz had you going, WTF! Because we want to bring the gift of thought-provoking questions and meaningful conversations to a household near you! So as we begin today's show, we discuss what it would look like if we crafted our perfect life. So what do you think? If you could wake up tomorrow and pick the elements of your ideal life, what would it look like? Let us know in the comments. As you will hear, PBid embraces his imperfections, Lady Dee wants a save button, and Jazz wants generational wealth and stability. In the same breath, we move on to question whether the world has indeed gotten more dangerous or is it only difficult because we have been taught to fear? We value your opinions, so let us know what you think, and remember, no one can tell your story like you can!

The Color of OUR Skin It's Series 13 Episode 2 Happy12th day of Black History Month, beautiful humans! How has your week been? Let us know in the comments! Y'all got them w-2's, lol. As we continue discussing the evolution of the term ethnic and how it became almost synonymous with African Americans, we discovered that we could have been the reason behind it! We create our lingo when we are amongst our friends and other like-minded constituents. As LadyDee pointed out, this could have been overheard by others and "stuck," Almost like a game of telephone. And then we have paid! Lol, concluding our discussion on the complexities of the word ethnic, we move on to wonder why we are still judged by the color of our skin? We all understand that racism is a thing and that colorism is as well, but why does my skin color dictate my worth or lack-there-of? LadyDee raises a strong point that the media plays a vital part in perpetuating the colorism standard and the disenfranchisement of darker skin-toned humans. Do you all believe we will EVER get to a place where we are not judged by the color of our skin? Let us know in the comments. Social Handles Insta: All. that. Happy Black History Month It's Series 13 Episode 1 Happy Black History Month, beautiful humans! How has your week been? Let us know in the comments! We are just waiting on those W-2's; lol yall too? This month holds a special place in our hearts for the culture that is Black America. Not only because it is Black History month but because it is a chance to spotlight and CELEBRATE EVERYTHING black and positive! Join us on today's show to discuss why the term ethnic is used to describe black people. And then we have PBid with his Caucascity.... So let's back up a bit what is ethnic? Essential Meaning of ethnic 1: of or relating to races or large groups of people who have the same customs, religion, origin, etc. 2: associated with or belonging to a particular race or group of people who have a culture that is different from the main culture of a country Full Definition of ethnic 1a: of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin or background b: being a member of a specified ethnic group c: of, relating to, or characteristic of a minority ethnic group Definition of ethnic : a member of an ethnic group, especially: a member of a minority group who retains the customs, language, or social views of the group As you can see, ethnic does not mean "black"; it can include "African Americans" but is not strictly defined as such. So why has that become synonymous with our culture? Stick around, and we will share our thoughts. Social Handles Insta: All. that. Blunt, Kempt, and Tactful It's Series 12 Episode 5 Hey hey hey, we are back at it on this beautiful Saturday! How have yall's week been? We've got a quick show for yall today. As we continue our discussion on the likeness of Mr. Kevin Samuels, we further discuss that there should always be a level of kempt and tact in anything that we do. If you want to re-iterate a point if you have to be professionally blunt if you need "tell someone off." Regardless of the situation, you should ALWAYS have tact. What is tact, you ask? Great question. Websters defines tact as follows: Essential Meaning of tact : the ability to do or say things without offending or upsetting other people. Full Definition of tact 1: a keen sense of what to do or say to maintain good relations with others or avoid offense 2: sensitive mental or aesthetic perception So, What all of that means is, in no way am I telling you to "sugarcoat" things. The point I want to convey is to say what you mean and mean what you say. Just do it tactfully to share your point, and all is understood. There is no reason to maliciously and intentionally hurt someone's feelings or make them feel inferior, so think about how you present your thoughts. I have been guilty of this in the past, misconstruing the idea of honesty. My previous idea of "honest" was not caring what came out of my mouth. If it came to my head, it came out my mouth. As I have gotten older, I have refined this idea. Although I am still honest, I choose my words cautiously while still getting my point across. We then move on to Amazon. I know how on earth did that happen? Listen, you will find out, lol! So would you instead shop online or in person? But how about that Jeff Bezos man! This man has mastered the art of online presence and DOMINATED! From scaling his online product selection to the opportunities to earn money through selling on his platform, Amazon is a BEAST and so rightfully named! Amazon is a trusted brand and household name! May we all take a page from the extraordinary memoir that is Mr. Bezos! But what are your thoughts! Let us know in the comments! Social Handles Insta: All. that. The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! Fat, Broke, and Unambitious It's Series 12 Episode 4 As we continue our discussion surrounding anime, we land on Hiku. If you haven't heard of Hiku... WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!! Lol, you are missing out on some FANTASTIC motivation. As you will hear in today's show, I am a fan of Hinata! This little guy gives me hope, he doesn't let anything, and I mean ANYTHING, stop him from reaching his goals. He is willing to learn, coachable, hungry, and has a drive that can not be matched. He is who I WANT to be; he doesn't let setbacks stop him from the mission at hand. I believe it is a show for ALL ages because many times as we get older, we can get set in our ways, forget how we got there, forget that someone had to help us, and forget that we don't know everything! These are the principles that Hiku reminds us of! NO ONE is too big to LEARN from someone else, and if you feel as though you are, YOU are a part of the problem! Humble yourself, young grasshopper. Do you remember who you were BEFORE you thought no one could tell you anything? Moving on now to the ENRAGE portion of the show! Kevin Samuels! in the brief clip, you will hear Mr. Kevin Samuels publicly embarrass and belittle several men on his "Show." Now, I hear ya, honesty is the BEST policy, and you are 100% correct. There is no need to sugarcoat, water down, or pacify the inadequacies of a person's character abilities, mannerisms, attitudes, drives, goals, or lack thereof to satiate their egos! BUT being rude, for a laugh, is downright despicable! You can tell someone they are fat without the sarcastic, nonsensical undertones of mockery. Furthermore, who are YOU to say what a woman won't want in HIM? Because he makes $40,000 at 40 years old, it's a problem; well, excuse me, sir, I didn't know YOU were dating him! The reality is that sometimes you NEED someone to tell you what the problem is, but the truth of the matter is Mr. Samuels is preying on the insecurities of those that call his show. Honesty is ALWAYS best, RUDENESS, MOCKERY, and EMBARRASSMENT, not the way! Mr. Kevin Samuels has made his millions, and kudos to him on that; shoot, I'm trying to get there, but the reality, in my opinion, is that he gets off on the humiliation and the public ridicule because he is compensating. It seems that men of his caliber need to feel important, wanted, needed, and he has taken those desires morphed them into 1.7 or so million youtube followers and a net worth of approx 2 million! Well, give the people what they want, right? Social Handles Insta: All. that. Our Ancestor's Wildest Dream It's Series 12 Episode 3 As we continue with whether the black past proves the black future, we discuss how just because our ancestor's circumstances appeared a certain way, we are proof that your present isn't indicative of your destiny; why? Because we are our ancestor's wildest dream. The fact that we are in a position to strive for education, a place to use our free speech, and create the future we want. We further ponder what makes life worth living. For us, it is peace, true friendship, and legacy. What about you all? Our lives are all written for a specific purpose, and we will live our truths through the choices we make. Have you ever thought about what the next page of your book will say? As we all know, life is not for the faint at heart, and it should not be taken lightly. You deserve someone in your life that tells you what you need to hear, not what you WANT to hear. We further discuss black men and their increasing ability to be open. This is a great stride for the culture because, in previous years, a black male that showed feelings or shed tears was viewed a weak or, in some cases, less than. In that same breath, if you, as a black person, do something that isn't traditionally black, you are labeled as "weird," so we move on to why it may be "a problem" in the black community if you like. Before we get started, how has your year been thus far? Mine has been insane hence the time of this post, and I am beyond sorry for that! If you guys follow me on IG @all.thatt.jazz, I made a post about how I was made fun of as a child for having dark skin, so much so they called me BEAST! My post more or less stated that I now understand they were telling me who I was before I knew! So 2022 is #BEASTMODE. So on today's episode, we continue with our discussion around the belief that financially affluent black people don't understand what it means to be black. Why do you believe that black people have crushed stereotypes, risen above our originally impoverished destiny to create a future of wealth and a foundation of success? We further speak about how we have furthered our culture through the pages of a book. We through a wild card in there of what never fails to liven up a party! We then move on to discuss, what are some hard truths in life that you have had to learn? PBID drops a bomb on us with, "You are the orchestrator of most of your problems." Have you ever stopped to take that realization in? As he leaves us speechless with that response, we begin discussing whether the black past proves the black future? Social Handles Insta: All. that. Ask yourself the challenging questions so that you can push ourself to the next level! On today's show, we will be discussing whether or not we believe our story matters. Well, do you? Do you feel that the mistakes, lessons, triumphs, and setbacks that are part of your story will matter to anyone or even yourself? We also question why "the community" believes that financially affluent black people don't know what it means to be black. This, to me, is insane. It's About the '90s It's Series 11 Episode 3 As we continue with the definition of cap. We discuss how the unnecessary impact of slang has in some ways diminished the intellectual capacity of our youth! From there, we move on to the redefinition of social. Websters defines social as relating to society or its organization. Needing companionship and therefore best suited to living in communities. An informal social gathering, especially one organized by the members of a particular club or group. Using this in terms of social media, I think it is safe to say that this definition, like many definitions over the years, has been skewed and morphed into what society deems it should be. What do you guys think? Does social mean the same as it did ten years ago? To wrap things up, we discuss what drives us nuts about social media? For me, it's the algorithms that can inhibit your platform growth! For lady Dee, it was everybody's bad news! We further concluded that social media has removed the human conversation aspect of talking. And thusly, we agreed that we should go back to the '90s! What do you guys think? As we continue our discussion on The Dana Chanel and Prince Donnell Lawsuit. If you didn't misconduct toward me, why am I seeking retribution for my grievances? There are many answers to this query, one that comes to mind is that a person could be trying to build traction for themselves and their business by creating tension or public degradation toward someone else! How do you feel about "catfish titles," meaning titles like " A Man over 30 with no kids is a Big Red Flag," and then hearing what is said in the video contradicting or having no relation to the alleged title? Do you feel the immediate judgment of a title of that caliber is the primary problem with the world? What about social media? How has social media redefined the word social? Do you feel it is now branded more as "mass communications" As webster defines social as "likely to seek or enjoy the company of others" and "tending to group with others of the same kind" Do you feel that the idea of social media and its impact is disintegrating the brain capacity of our children? Prime example, of course, you can never take anything online seriously, but on Instagram, I saw a post that said define "Cap," and the answer the child wrote was "lie." The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's a Colorism Thang! It's Series 10 Episode 3 hey guys, so on today's show, we talk about why black people feel they have to say "I'm mixed with x, y, and z" to feel interesting. As you will hear, this is a fascinating construct because growing up, and I saw that a lot; I had a distinct memory of one such case when I was in 10th grade, we played a game called two truths and a lie, to get to know each other, one person stood up and said their two truths and a lie. The teacher called their lie as being them, saying, "I'm Dominican Republic," and the teacher said he caught that as a lie because people who are Dominican don't say they are "Dominican republic"; they say they are Dominican. I said that to say later on in our school years, I overheard this same person say, "I'm Dominican." Well, at least they learned from their mistake. I find it disheartening that we can't just BE BLACK and feel interesting as BLACK people. We further discuss does the belief that lighter skin is prettier perpetuates the colorism reality? Along with racism, we have colorism, which, if you dissect it into its most minute existence, is a form of racism. Webster's defines racism as: Definition of racism : a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular racealso: behavior or attitudes that reflect and foster this belief: racial discrimination or prejudice the systemic oppression of a racial group to the social, economic, and political advantage of another specifically: WHITE SUPREMACY : a political or social system founded on racism and designed to execute its principles Webster's further defines colorism as: 1. prejudice or discrimination, especially within a racial or ethnic group favoring people with lighter skin over those with darker skin As you can see, colorism IS racism; we just call it colorism, so it doesn't sound so bad; what do you guys think? Pride Cometh Before The Fall It's Series 10 Episode 2 hey guys, today we conclude our discussion on pride vs. arrogance. As you will hear, myself and Soul Brotha have stark differences in the meanings of both. While he believes they are the same, I think that too much of one causes the other! People tend to take pride in something they worked hard to accomplish, as they should, right? The construct in that comes from believing that no one else can do it and that you must now boast about your achievements in a way that demeans, condescends, and devalues the efforts of your predecessors, successors, and current colleagues. Websters defines pride in three ways: As a noun: a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. The consciousness of one's own dignity. As a Verb: Be incredibly proud of (a particular quality or skill). Similar words: pleasure, joy, delight, gratification, fulfillment, satisfaction sense of achievement, comfort, content, contentment Arrogant is defined as an adjective to mean having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. Similar words: haughty, conceited, hubristic, self-important, opinionated, egotistic, full of oneself, superior, overbearing, pompous, high-handed, swaggering I believe that the difference between the two is attitude! Do you agree with Soul Brotha' that there is no difference, or do you think the difference is your attitude? We would love to know what you think! Let us know in the comments. The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 9 Episode 3 We are still here and will be so long as yall vibe with us! Today we speak o the following: What has failure taught you?- Each of us has failed at something, and if you are lucky enough to have not had that experience, YOU BLESSED! But for those of us who have, just know, failure does not define you. The only way for you to learn what doesn't work is to make a few mistakes. Also, don't be afraid to reach out for help when you fail because chances are that you aren't the only person who has tried the thing you are doing, so what better way to get to the other side of the trench than by getting advice from someone who has! Also, know that it is ok to fail, but it's not ok to give up! You have to keep going! The world needs that idea; they need that plan, they need that cure, they need YOU and your talents! JUST KEEP GOING! As you heard PBid say, he is still learning from his failed love, and that is ok! Maybe you don't know what to do or how to handle a situation, perhaps you haven't experienced it enough to see what you do and don't like, and that's ok! However, don't let that discourage you because not trying again leaves you in the same place and stunts your growth! What Do you define as true love?- True love, in my opinion, has been through all seasons and learned how to speak the love language of the other person. Because whether you want to believe it or not, neglecting to talk to your partner in the love language they understand can leave them feeling empty and irrelevant. In the same breath, failed love doesn't mean it wasn't real; it can simply mean you grew apart. Also, as we mentioned in the show, let us know in the comments what your answer to the question is: If one animal was the size of an elephant which would be the scariest Mentions Marsai Martin Taraji P. The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 9 Episode 2 Who What When Where andy why? all questions we ask ourselves when we look back on the choices we have made. Knowing the things we do now can sometimes make us cringe if we think back over our life! However, we also have to take solace and pleasure in knowing that we would not be who we didn't have those experiences. Need: I am an advocate for the kids and giving them choices and opportunities. It is so important to have someone in your corner and push you to reach your fullest potential. As LadyDee said today, she did not invest in Google and Amazon because she didn't have anyone around her that stressed the education of stock and the lucrative rewards of patients. But now that we are older and have that knowledge, we can use it to our advantage. Life doing a full circle: Life is funny sometimes, LadyDee wanted would have told herself to invest, PBid would have lived a bit more, and I would have helped the kids. Each of us, in our way, is taking the advice we would have given ourselves and living that reality. Always remember to love yourself enough to allow for mistakes and respect yourself enough to learn from them. Working on yourself will be your full-time, rest of your life job, but if you do what you love and love what you do, will it feel like work? In closing, we may not believe in love at first sight, but that is wonderful, and all blessings to you if you do. Our reasonings are pretty simple. We feel that love is an action, and to truly love someone, you need to go through all seasons with them. Not your traditional four seasons, but their ups, downs, brokes, riches, waves of anger, sadness, hurts, pains, goods, bad, frustrations, ALL of it. Experiencing these seasons gives you a clear, well-rounded picture of your tolerance level. Lest you not forget, love can be blinding, and true love has the power to hurt you the most because truly loving someone gives them the power over you! You are vulnerable, naked, and free. So entrust that power to the right one! Social Handles Insta: All. that. It's Series 9 Episode 1 As we reach a new season, we start to think back on the past, as we do many times. Today we will talk about shortcomings and mistakes, take a stroll down memory lane and find out what we wish we would have told ourselves! We were not thinking back, desiring to have changed what we did, just using what we know now and impacting the outcome. First, does a person's shortcomings or slipups invalidate anything they say when those mistakes are made public? If a person has done fantastic humanitarian work and has helped the community in countless ways, will a transgression that comes to light invalidate that work?- Comment down below what you think. Or what about this one. What piece of advice would you give your younger self? For me, I would say stay the course and be the change. Seeing the children's slayings by other children for nonsensical reasons hurts and makes me wish I would have followed my heart and been an advocate for them, but life has a way of taking us full circle. The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 8 Episode 4. Happy Saturday, peeps! On today's show, we discuss many different topics that all have the same underlying points. Learning: Life is full of learning experiences, ups, and downs. What you do with the downs speaks to your character. We have learned so much from this life and each other, and we hope you have too! The impact that a simple act of teaching and receiving can provide, many times, can prove life-altering. Mental Health: This is not the first time we have spoken on mental health, and it won't be the last. Mental health is something WE take too lightly or dismiss too quickly. There is no formula for how your sanity should look, and sometimes we need help figuring it out. Mainstream media has painted us a picture of what our lives should look like, so much so that if we stray too far from the ideal depiction, then we begin to think we are doing something wrong or we are flawed. Allow yourself time to process, change, and live. Put yourself first because you should. Life According to You: Your life belongs to you and no one else, so why is it that we allow others to tell us how to live it? I think we lack the vision to see how we want our lives to look. At specific points in life, that is rightfully so! We seek validation and praise from others for our decisions. Then we allow those decisions that received recognition to be the foundation we build on, instead of seeking the approval and the validation from ourselves and doing what makes us happy. No one is buried in the grave with you; no one has to answer for you! Live your life according to the way YOU want to; it's yours after all, RIGHT? Support System: Vitally important! Each of the initial points is made that much easier when you have a strong support system. It is essential to have people in your corner who don't push their ideas on you but provide you with another perspective. It is important to have people around you that are honest, not cruel, direct, not condescending, and loving, not loathing. There is a fine line between a person providing you with advice and having your best interest in mind and one giving you advice because they can't do it, so they don't want you to. Choose carefully! I want him to love me so deep; I'm not afraid to show him how ugly I can be. I want him to show me scars I never knew I had. But I don't want him to make them go away.' - Queen (Queen & Slim)." Peace: The elusive celebrity of our life, the envy of those who desire to dwell in its presence. When asked what we want out of life, Peace made the list! What about you? Legacy- A Champagne toast to greatness. Alone, I did it, with the support I did it, without the support I did it, TOGETHER WE DID IT! The words written long after our time has passed, we work now to make sure they are heard for generations ahead. Money- The paper chaser, to be "Muy Rico." Not for Happiness but for options, for choices, for valor, for legacy, for the stability of generations! To have the tools to provide the resources our culture so desperately need. Choices: For so many, the choice is made for them, with a lack of financial resources at their disposal. We live in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, but for so many, it's the Land of the Free as long as you can afford it and the Brave as long as you aren't darker than the tan crayon. Having the choice to decide the outcome of our lives is what we deserve. Stress- More like Stress-less. A tranquil oasis of aqua blue marinas and crisp breezes through the forest trees. An escape now and then to a place free from decisions, directions, rules, procedure, etiquette, and tact. We are longing for a place of utter ecstasy and a chance to turn off the switch for a moment and be. And let me tell you that's precisely what happened! Today we share our worst situationships! PBid correlates our stories in a significant way! We both expressed our trials and the many red flags of the circumstances, but our pain clouded our judgment. Sometimes we mask our pain so much that we forget to think clearly. Or, we see a hazard sign as a message of tranquility. The stories that you will hear on today's show are full of pain, lessons, consequences, choices, and a bit of stupidity. The thing about life is that it's not a straight line. We have ups and downs and a few twists too! When we are down, it can be difficult to see that we will make it through, but once on the other side, we can, in most cases, laugh about it, share our lessons and hope they help someone else not make the same mistake. In both stories, you will hear a lot of justifications for the mishaps. Sometimes when we are at such a low point in our lives or have endured such a massive tragedy, we lose sight of our worth and believe that poor treatment is what we deserve. Where have your misguided judgments led you? Have you ever seen the red flags, knew they were red flags, and chose to disregard or try to justify the action? Are there any situationships that you knew weren't ideal in your life, but you did them anyway? What did you learn? Let us know in the comments! On today's show, we talk about relationships, the good ones, the bad ones, and the worst ones! In the turbulence of life, we began to realize that we need to set standards or boundaries! Sometimes, the things we go through forces us to recognize that we are worth more, therefore causing us to no longer accept a certain caliber of people in our lives. This is where our standards come in. Having high standards speak to the character of a person, most times. Goals and aspirations seek to uncover our true desires in life. But, there are times when we skew the lines of high and unrealistic. Join us as we discuss. PBid shares a valuable gem today, "You should not have to GIVE someone the drive to fix something THEY broke." In understanding that statement, one should realize that there is nothing wrong with HELPING someone WILLING to correct their mistakes. The issue is YOU being the one to MAKE them WANT to fix it. That is not your responsibility. If your actions inspire them to make the change, that is different, but I don't think that being the initiator of fixing their issues is beneficial for either party. Today we submit our closing remarks on our thoughts surrounding Juneteenth! It's now illegal in Georgia to give food and water to voters in line. Learn about that if you didn't know! As we end our Juneteenth discussion, we touch on the importance of educating our youth, not just black youth, but the youth of all races, about the history, the legacy, and the weight of Juneteenth. We know that the kids will one day be our leaders, and in whatever manner that appears, it will happen non the less, so why not create a world led by well-rounded, open-minded individuals. We believe that it is important to know, even in small quantities, about other cultures, or at least have some knowledge about significant events in that culture. For instance, Jews and the Holocaust, African Americans and Slavery, Asians, The Coolie Trade. The more information we can equip our youth and ourselves with, the less fear of the unknown will intimidate us; the less hate will spew into the world because we will realize we all bleed red for a reason! Just like most negro spirituals, this one, too, had a message. Also, just like most, its message has been interpreted in different ways throughout history. My interpretation is that the lyrics were used to let the escaping slaves know which way to go—letting them know that the water is safer than the roads. I will also share some of my unconscious biases and how I jumped to the defensive without thinking. You all know that we choose to provide you with entertainment that leaves a way for your interpretation because we believe that is the best conversation piece—not telling you how to think or what to say, just giving you something to talk about. We thank you all for being a part of our ever-evolving journey, and we plan to be here as long as you will have us! I hope you can find value in these topics, and they become something that you talk amongst your friends and family about! Don't shy away from challenging issues because that is where growth happens! The change you want to see is the change you must create! We are worthy, we are tenacious, we are strong, and we are purposeful! The only way to erase the divide is to come together as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 6 Episode 5 . Swing low, sweet chariot, comin' for to carry me home, Swing low, sweet chariot Coming for to carry me home (courtesy of Mr. Wallace Willis. If you know, you know. In the tumultuous times of the human property era, enslaved African Americans, being unable to read or write, would often communicate through song. They would send messages to others, plan routes, meeting, etc., all through the language of music. These melodies became known as negro spirituals. Much like the one above, the messages were only understood by slaves. Over the years, different interpretations have been made. I believe this one is about the desire to be free, to have those abolitionists from the northern lands come down to the south and take those enslaved to freedom. Ending our friendship topic, we begin today's show with the discussion around the "new holiday" Juneteenth. You will hear Soul Brotha' make a correlation to the emancipation proclamation. PBid will refer to battle tactics, and Lady Dee will speak on the youth. As you all know, we use every episode to make you laugh, cry, and think, and this one is no different. As most people of color understand, and as CLEARLY stated in today's show, the African American people have been celebrating Juneteenth forever. The juxtaposition now is that President Biden's signings give others the pass of acceptability to join in on the festivities. The only way to erase the divide is to come together as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 6 Episode 4 . Today, we discuss some of the reasons that friendships fall apart? There are times that in friendships where things become one-sided. We can spend so much time trying to pour into another person because you have been together for so long, and we may feel that we are obligated to be there. Understand that the length of time that you have known someone does not dictate their privilege of a place in your life. You deserve peace on all your ships, and you deserve to have effort put in for you!. As Lady Dee and PBid said, they have found the dynamic that works for them in their friendship, and you have to find that dynamic for you and your friends. Know that may look different with each friend because they are different, but the dynamic should yield the same results. Your soul is valuable, your sanity just as equal. Your time is precious, and your worth is priceless. Your friendship, relationship, partnership, or whatever should be where BOTH parties involved are benefiting equally and one where no judgment is passed, communication is free. Advice is from a place of love, not jealousy. So to answer the topic of the show, some of the reasons friendships fall apart are lack of communication, unequal effort, vindictiveness, judgment, and unrest. Would you please take time and look over the ships you have in your life? Do any of them possess these characteristics? If so, you may want to cut ties. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. Welcome back; moving right into part 2, we continue to discuss friendships and what they mean. Today I will share with you all a personal story about me and one of my best friends. As you hear this story, please listen with open ears to the things that transpired and how they were handled. As I look back on that instance, I regret some of the actions taken and the time lost, but I don't regret what I did! A true friend is essential in today's time, a support system is necessary, and a level of candidness is required. I believe that it is important to tell your friend when they are wrong and grow together. This particular friend and I are stronger than ever, and no, we don't talk every day, but when we do, it's like no time has passed at all. We talk a lot about the instances you'll hear in today's episode, and thankfully we can laugh at what we did. But, even in that, we are both grateful that the other cared enough to do something. Keep in mind that The story you are about to hear is everyday life for many people. Under no circumstances should you feel trapped in a domestic situation. Below you will find some national resources if ever you find yourself in this situation. Please know that you are not alone, and there are ALWAYS people willing to help you! You CAN do it! The only way to erase the divide is to come together as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 6 Episode 1. Today we begin the conversation around being a leader or a follower. Which are you? The World would have you think that being a follower is wrong, but we are here to debunk that myth. Being a blind follower without proper education could cause more harm than good. No successful business was built without a robust support system. Whether you consider yourself to be one or the other is entirely up to you. There can be no leaders without followers and no followers without leaders. Each of us has a calling, a purpose, and a gift. We were each crafted in an image so divine that there is no one else like us. Your Takeaway: From today's episode, if you remember nothing that we talked about, remember this, your purpose will place you in the proper position. And as long as you live and humans inhabit the earth, there will always be room for both! The greatest of leaders had to follow someone first! As we conclude our discussion around our WOST teacher, we jump right into our BEST teacher! Hearing us talk about our best teacher, you can hear the correlation between the energy and the love we have for these teachers. I think this is what it's all about! They left the best impact on our lives, and we will forever remember them for it! As I said previously, teachers know they are powerful. Teachers know they hold all the cards and that they have the power to shape the minds of the future! One of my best friends is a teacher, and she is the embodiment of a GREAT one! She cares about her students and is invested in her job, and I always tell her that when I have kids, I want her to be their teacher because I know they will get the best education possible. The job of a professional educator is not easy, but yet someone has to do it. I am so thankful that Ms. Grimes was a part of my life! She impacted me in a way I probably haven't even realized yet, and for that, I will forever be grateful! It's Series 5 Episode 2 picking back up from where we left off; sometimes, people's intentions are malicious. Also, know that it is never your fault for your partner's infidelity. After we move past this, we then talk about a topic out of left field! Who was your worst teacher! This topic hits home because teachers are the shapers of young minds! We know that parents are a part of their child's development, but teachers hold the cards to the door of their future! As we go through our stories of our worst teachers, you will notice a trend! They each fell short on the connection. First, I would like to say BIG UPS TO ALL GOOD TEACHERS! The teachers that we mention in this section failed to connect with us! They did not pour into us, or at least we felt like it. And to be honest, that is what matters! Now, grant it, sometimes kids can be little hellions, and even with that, they still have potential. Like any profession, you get into the job because you have a passion for it for one reason or another, and you want to make a difference. The four that I mentioned as our "worst" teachers could have very much meant well but missed the mark on bridging the gap with us. Interpersonal skills teach us that people respond differently to various things. And as a teacher, I think it is a part of the description to determine which method elicits the appropriate response in each of your students! In closing, thank you to all the teachers that still pour into their students as though they are their own! You are the REAL MVP! It's Series 5 Episode 1, and we still in hereee!! Hey, hey beautiful, it's season 5, and yall, we are so grateful for your loyalty! In today's episode, we explore what we would do if our significant other's got someone else pregnant? We deep dive into the topic of cheating and share personal stories on the issue. Infidelity in any form had a precursor. No one just woke up one day and said, "you know, I think imma go cheat today. Whether that pain came from adolescent trauma or adult relationship disconnect, it all stems from something! I am a firm believer in the power of communication. In a relationship, if you aren't happy or you don't like something, say so! A healthy relationship is about compromise, understanding, and the willingness to admit wrong. You would be surprised by how much you could solve by communicating even if the solution is that you don't need to be together anymore! That is still better than feeling trapped in a situation from which you believe you can't escape. As you all know, we love to joke here, but in our satire, we do have some authentic conversations. We feel that it's all about truth. We want you to know that we are people that go through real-life struggles and that you are not alone in your situations. We hope that you can relate to us and connect with our messages because that is why we are here!."
