In episode 188 - Just Keep Going, I share the importance of just keeping going, even when the path ahead seems unclear or the results of your efforts aren't immediately visible. As the host of the LDS Mission Podcast, I've experienced firsthand how small, consistent actions can lead to big impacts over time. When I first started sending out my weekly "Tuesday Tidbit" emails back in 2019, I had just 16 recipients. Now, that list has grown to thousands of missionaries, parents, and returned missionaries around the world. And while my podcast may have started with just 3 downloads in the first week, it now reaches thousands of listeners each month. These are tangible examples of how staying the course, even when progress feels slow, can make your goals and dreams inevitable. The key is to believe in the value of your efforts, even when you can't see the full impact. Keep taking those small steps forward, trusting that your consistency and persistence will pay off. Whether you're serving a mission, preparing for one, or navigating life after your mission, this message of "just keep going" is one I hope will encourage and empower you to embrace your potential and never stop moving towards what matters most. As always, if you found this episode helpful, I want to invite you to subscribe if you aren't already, share this episode with your friends and missionaries you know, and write a review. I know this work will help LDS missionaries around the world and it would mean so much to me if you did. Not getting the results you think you should be getting form your weight loss program? Somehow, we think if the scale isn't moving, we are failing at what we are doing. Hmmmm, is that really the case?  We somehow think if the scale isn't saying what we want it to say, we think nothing is happening and you're just wasting your time. Why is it that we only celebrate the weight loss or the number on the scale or our pants going down?  I get it, you're in a calorie deficit, you are increasing your protein and you're adding in more workouts…BUT you're not seeing any changes. Is it possible that you are setting up your expectations for yourself that are just unreal? SUSTAINABLE FAT LOSS takes time and patience.  We are expecting a result that we're not seeing and I get that it can be so frustrating.  I think it's time we look in other places for a result OTHER than the number on the scale.  STOP looking for results based on the scale numbers! If you have started moving your body and eating in a healthier way..YOU are already seeing results, you may just have to open your eyes up to something other than that damn number!!  Patience and CONSISTENCY are key!!  Take the focus away from the number on the scale and lowering your calories to 1200!! Start focusing on how you FEEL!! Look at the data over time ( months) Check yourself and be honest..are you REALLY being consistent? How many times a week are you eating out? Are you prioritizing protein? Are you moving throughout the day ( outside of your workouts)?  JUST KEEP GOING!!!   ***************   Mentions: Beachbody video I mentioned in the podcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtpCg3dd6Rs 75% OFF SPECIAL: CIRNA METHOD PROGRAM: https://bit.ly/4ccR5nj **************************************************** Let's connect:   Book a FREE Weight Loss Breakthrough call @http://bit.ly/2E48dOh   Join Our FREE FB Support Group @https://www.facebook.com/groups/574339769435340   *************************** FREE STUFF!!    Get your FREE copy ot the 7 Secrets the Diet Industry is Hiding From You @ https://bit.ly/2ZXn6QF     Get your FREE copy of The Metabolism Cheat Sheet @https://bit.ly/3if0tgO   **************************   FOLLOW ME:   Be sure to subscribe to my Podcast on iTunes @ Create Your Balance    Follow Me on Facebook @ https://www.facebook.com/melanie.sobocinski   Check out my website @ https://www.melaniesobo.com/    See behind the scenes on Instagram @ https://www.instagram.com/melanie2875/?hl=en    Check out my Pins @  https://www.pinterest.com/MSobocinskiFit/pins/

"Just Keep Going" is a mantra that has become a foundational piece to everyday life for Ike Iroegbu. When you get cut from the Olympics for no other reason than politics, "Just keep going". When you receive a random phone call while sitting on your couch one morning saying you're going to be playing in your first NBA game in a few hours, "just keep going". When you decide to start a brand to highlight overlooked basketball players, there was no better phrase to sum it up than "just keep going" This phrase is one that can be used whether you're an athlete, or a mailman in your local neighborhood trying to provide for your family. At the end of the day, you just have to keep going! Ike joined the show to discuss some of these trials and tribulations that have come along the way during this basketball journey, that include stops with the Clippers during the NBA preseason, the NBA G League, and some of the best leagues in the world including the ACB in Spain, and the Serie A in Italy. We get into some of the politics that exist in both of these situations, and have a transparent conversation on everything you need to know to make an informed decision on both options. We then shift our focus to the athlete empowerment era that we're currently in. An era that promotes creativity, freedom of expression, and leaning into creative outlets that can give you the fulfillment that we all seek outside of whatever our 9-5 may be. Ike takes us inside the inception of his brand "Just Keep Going" and what it looks like to manage a brand of that scale while being a full time professional athlete. This is one of those episodes that every hooper should tune into! A conversation that you'll leave thankful that you heard, and looking forward to your next opportunity to "just keep going!" Make sure you like, and subscribe to the show, so you don't miss any more conversations just like this one!

Having children changes your life but when you have a child born with a rare chromosome disorder (only 12 other cases on record globally) as a young 24 year old parent, you truly are stepping into the unknown. Your life is never going to be the same again.  That parent and today's guest is a very special lady, Pam Wills. Pam describes herself and her life before her son Graeme as average and ordinary. Now 38 years on and after her son's passing, she now describes herself as strong, fearless and determined to live her life to its absolute fullest. But what did it take to get to this point? From living the first few years with a disabled son like a prison sentence it was seeing her sister lose both her children that gave her perspective, “I am so lucky and blessed to have my son”. From desperately hoping for those milestones to come, “he showed signs of walking at 8 before his hips started dislocating”, she became obsessed with all the therapies to make him better, affirming you have to, “Just Keep Going”. Already supporting one child, when her youngest developed an eating disorder, she felt totally helpless, explaining, “You have to accept the only thing you CAN do is be there for them”. From feeling alone in an uncommunicative marriage but paralysed by fear of making it on her own, she attended the Landmark forum which was a catalyst for changing her life. From starting an online business with no business or computer skills to earning her biggest paycheque, buying her own home and being in a new relationship expressing, “life is fun”!Pam's story will open your eyes and ears to learning disabilities and the effect it has on a family but leave you INSPIRED and full of hope, compassion and gratitude. Listen to this episode if: you have a child with learning disabilities. you are in an unhappy relationship but fear is keeping you stuck. you lack confidence in yourself. you have a child or close friend with an eating disorder. you want to change your life but think you are ‘too old'.Instagram: @glampam13                                                                                                                Inspire the Podcast Instagram: @inspirewithnicola Hosted on Acast. Action Taker Tribe
100: 100th Episode! Celebrating Progress & Alignment

Action Taker Tribe

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 5, 2022 15:01

Welcome to the 100th EPISODE of Goals With Soul! What a journey it has been, traveling through so many topics since starting out as Action Taker Tribe in December 2020. And whilst this is a huge celebration for me, this week's episode is also about celebrating YOU and the journey you've been on towards achieving your true calling in life. In this special episode, I discuss a couple of key things that lead us to success - most critically, consistency. It can be easy to let imposter syndrome sneak in but start where you are, KNOW you are enough and JUST KEEP GOING. See your value and share it. Consistency keeps us in alignment. In who we are as well as what we do. I know first-hand how difficult this can be. A few months into my solopreneurship, after trying to show up and do EVERYTHING - starting my podcast, mastering multiple media platforms and launching several programs - I reached burnout. After working 3x 17-hour days in a row, I turned to my husband and said to him that this was NOT what I wanted it to be. But guess what? As painful as this was, it was also an opportunity. A chance to reassess who I was and what I wanted to say. So I leaned into it. I opened myself up to the spiritual, woo-woo side of me, letting the divine feminine drop in and bring with it that ease and flow I sought. And these changes are reflected in my podcast too, evolving it from Action Taker Tribe to the Goals With Soul we know today! As a lifelong learner, I love constantly exploring new knowledge and practices and sharing what I learn. This is why I introduced guests - I get the chance to learn from them whilst gifting this opportunity to you too. It's such a privilege. So, on this 100th episode, let me remind you to celebrate your milestones too. I almost didn't - and what a shame that would have been. Although we should always be striving for betterment, we should do it from a place of appreciation. Welcome back to The Round 12 MOTIVATIONAL MASTERY Podcast Show! Episode #103 “NEVER QUIT!” This is a uniquely special episode, because it's partly in honor of the announcement toward my new Audible Audiobook launch, and my youngest son moving on to his own residence in his own way. I have realized that there are so many lessons to learn in this life, and one of those lessons has to do with “seeing things through!” There is magnificence in the idea of forging forward, (holding-fast and staying true), then just being accountable for your commitments, your goals, your pursuits, your dreams, and your life. I'm old enough now, but still young enough too, to realize that you don't have to know everything that comes next, and you don't have to have everything figured out this very second... JUST KEEP GOING. That's really the key. Go with the flow, but in my case, I go with an experienced flow. And that makes it pretty cool. Here's to Believing AND Achieving... One follows the other!    CLICK THE ATTACHED LINK TO SEE OUR LATEST PROGRAM EMAIL OR TO SUBSCRIBE: https://conta.cc/3mIcQ6U https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/G8ByO2F Podcast Intro & Outro Music Provided by... Pandemic or not, there will always be challenges. Some things, a lot of things, are just plain out of our control.  And often times those things are the things we allow to creep in as excuses... our “Reasons” to give up. Accept life as is or take the responsibility to change our reality. Quitting ensures failure. We only truly succeed when we choose to JUST KEEP GOING.     Let's Connect! Writing a book is a journey. …and because of my guest Amanda Johnson I have now written 4 that have been released with the 5th one currently on the table. Today we are talking all about the book publishing industry, the journey that is writing a book and the healing that comes through the telling of your story. Amanda had been writing all through highschool and college, helping others write better papers and editing their writing for publishing. Forever the editor of other people's stories but never one of her own. With a little one at home, and a marriage that was falling apart Amanda got her chance to work with her mentor. It was on this part of her writing journey that she came to realize the value she had to offer to the world and her story that was ready to be told. Are you being called to write your story? There is no time like now to get started and this episode is your inspirational jumping off point. Join me and Amanda Johnson to learn why you shouldn't ignore the call and just how possible it is to tell your story to the world. Ursula's Takeaways: Intro (00:00) Helping People Write (6:39) Transformation & Healing (13:21) Just Keep Going (17:55) I Don't Know What Comes Next (19:25) Why Would You Do That To Yourself? She partners with divinely-inspired souls to craft messages for maximum impact on their audience, brand, and bottom line AND heal their st*ries, so they can change the world without compromising their health, sanity, or soul. After years of engaging, clarifying, and helping others develop powerful messages [as a Student, Teacher, and Master Writing Coach], Amanda uncovered her own. The decision to share it launched her on a journey of transformation that quickly made her personal and professional life unrecognizable. Welcome Back to Blue Moon Vibes! The podcast that makes you laugh a lil' bit, cry a lil' bit, and think a lil' bit! My goal is to be the one that gives you more than you asked! I hope you can find value in these topics, and they become something that you talk amongst your friends and family about! Don't shy away from challenging issues because that is where growth happens! The change you want to see is the change you must create! We are worthy, we are tenacious, we are strong, and we are purposeful! The only way to erase the divide is to unite as a nation and treat each other as people, with respect and courtesy! It's Series 9 Episode 3 We are still here and will be so long as yall vibe with us! Today we speak o the following: What has failure taught you?- Each of us has failed at something, and if you are lucky enough to have not had that experience, YOU BLESSED! But for those of us who have, just know, failure does not define you. The only way for you to learn what doesn't work is to make a few mistakes. Also, don't be afraid to reach out for help when you fail because chances are that you aren't the only person who has tried the thing you are doing, so what better way to get to the other side of the trench than by getting advice from someone who has! Also, know that it is ok to fail, but it's not ok to give up! You have to keep going! The world needs that idea; they need that plan, they need that cure, they need YOU and your talents! JUST KEEP GOING! As you heard PBid say, he is still learning from his failed love, and that is ok! Maybe you don't know what to do or how to handle a situation, perhaps you haven't experienced it enough to see what you do and don't like, and that's ok! However, don't let that discourage you because not trying again leaves you in the same place and stunts your growth!  What Do you define as true love?- True love, in my opinion, has been through all seasons and learned how to speak the love language of the other person. Because whether you want to believe it or not, neglecting to talk to your partner in the love language they understand can leave them feeling empty and irrelevant. In the same breath, failed love doesn't mean it wasn't real; it can simply mean you grew apart. Also, as we mentioned in the show, let us know in the comments what your answer to the question is: If one animal was the size of an elephant which would be the scariest Mentions Marsai Martin Taraji P. I received this topic from my facebook group and I know its a common one among alot of folks out there regardless of age!  Healthy Habits! So I am going to share a few of my healthy habits to answer the questions.  Here were the questions I received from the group…..1 - I love working out but would love to know how to workout smarter....if you only have 30 mins a day 4-5 days a week what is the best workout to do for the most benefit? Also, always have nutrition issues....best ways to get your protein in? Best meal prepping tips?2 - Pushing past the discomfort of trying new things. Ex: running sprints, riding the bike and the panic sets in that you're dying when you really aren't... then never pushing past that feeling. So I am going to try and cover all these things in 3 different categories: fitness, nutrition, and a little bit of embracing the suck and I will get into that a little more as we move along with this podcast.Again these are the things I do and what works (most of the time) for me. You have to ENGAGE the SUCK, and you have to keep going……. Just like I tell my kids! JUST KEEP GOING!  With fitness, nutrition, life, all the things. You can take these ideas and blow them off, roll with them, or you can reevaluate and do what works for YOU because in the end that is where you will find the most success. So there you have it.  No magic.  Just the hard honest words.  I hope these words get to you and drive you to keep going.  So my challenge to you this week is to look in that accountability mirror right now and figure out what you ultimately want and how you are going to go and recharge and find the success you are looking for.  Post it on Social Media now, share it with the world to hold yourself accountable. Remember, YOU'VE GOT THIS. I believe in you.RESOURCESBad Peach Fitness https://www.youtube.com/c/BadPeachFitness Hey everyone…….If you love this, or know someone that needs it, share it!! Or get over to apple podcasts and leave a quick positive review. Also check out all the links in today's show notes for the instagram or facebook page where you can also find some amazing resources, a little tough love, and wednesday wisdom videos.  If you are ready for some help or even a conversation, hit me up! I am always ready to jump in with ya.  Take care and have a great day and I'll see ya next week……..bye for now!!

My conversation with Dan Flanzig: Dan is a minor (very minor) celebrity among bicycle riders in the New York Metropolitan area because of his personal injury law practice that specializes in representing injured cyclists - making Dan the "New York Bike Lawyer"! Don't worry though, this podcast is NOT about bicycle law! This podcast is about a lifelong wellness journey. For Dan it started at a moment in college after finishing a platter of 13 hamburgers. At that moment he said "I'm tired of being a fatty"! We all have moments like that, but our wellness paths are never a straight line. Life always seems to get in the way. Dan's key to success is one that Mediocre Mitch has also subscribed to - JUST KEEP GOING! Keep trying new things and never give up on yourself. Given today's COVID-19 global crisis, this conversation is a nice diversion and a nice reminder of what a successful (and human) wellness journey looks like. All aboard!!

140: Jim Mora: Dad, Football Coach, ESPN Analyst, and Philanthropist talks about going from coaching in the NFL for the Chargers, Saints, 49ers, Falcons, and Seahawks, at the college level at UCLA, and finding fulfillment after coaching football.  Jim Mora Jim Mora is not just an alumni who earned a living working in the NFL like Mark Pattison, he is also a personal  friend of Mark who met him in their senior year of high school in the summer before they went to the University of Washington. Jim discusses the positive attitude that Mark continues to carry. “I think this whole thing with Everest started when he was going through some changes, some extreme changes in his life. He was going through separation and divorce. He was struggling with his daughter Emilia, who he mentioned earlier, and her bout with epilepsy, which he is working hard to overcome. He was at a point in his life that wasn’t really bright at the time. Mark has always had a real positive outlook on things.” On this episode of Finding Your Summit Podcast, we talk with Jim Mora, Dad, Football Coach, ESPN Analyst, and Philanthropist. Jim discusses his own career as well as Mark Pattison’s evolution as a man and a mountain climber. “It is impressive how you stuck to it because a lot of people would start the journey, would get to a better spot, like you did, and then might say, I’m ok now, I’m good now. But your will to complete the journey, to complete the seven summits, to keep pushing for Emilia, to find your way out of the darkness, to invite happiness back into your life, to completely restructure everything about yourself has been inspiring. But anyone that knows Mark, would understand what I’m saying because he is incredibly positive about everything. It’s never a can’t. It’s always a can”    What You Will Learn:   What does Jim see as Mark’s advance when it comes to mountain climbing? “Some people walk up a mountain. Some people attack a mountain. Mark attacks a mountain. When he gets on Everest he will be paying respect to Everest. But he will be in a mode where he is being safe. He is being smart. But he has a relentless attitude, and that is what you’ve always been. Relentless.”   Jim Mora tells the story of a special football player he mentored named Cody Ennis. “Cody (Ennis) went from a 310lb offensive lineman to a 185lb, now as a member of the United States Navy Seals team. I got a text from him two days ago. It’s a picture on my phone. I screenshotted it. He’s in a helicopter. He is in deployment, I believe in Afghanistan and he goes, ‘Coach Mora, I just want to thank you so much for shaking the sickness of complacency from me when I got to UCLA. I would never be where I am now without that. It just meant so much to me.”   Jim talks about the importance of loving the process that is involved in whatever your goals or journeys consist of. “People that are in love with the process find success. People that are relentless like you (Mark Pattison) they find success because they are doing it for the right reasons and what you’ve done Mark over and over is, and you said it, the top pyramid on John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success’ is competitive greatness is. And his definition of competitive greatness is, being at your best when your best is  needed.”   Jim shares how coaching felt when he went from the NFL to UCLA. “Coaching changed for me dramatically when I went to UCLA, the purpose of my coaching. The purpose in the pros was only to win. That is all they cared about in the pros, and the definition of winning was winning the game on Sunday. The definition of winning for me changed when I went to UCLA and certainly it was winning on the field because winning on the field allows you to continue to do what you love to do, which is coach these young men and help them in life. But it also became about these young men getting an education and graduating, which is two different things.”     While talking about the late great Kobe Bryant’s 10 elements that make a champion, Jim Mora expounded on the first one on the list. “A champion’s mentality means doing things that others won’t. It means being fully committed. There’s different levels of commitment. There is someone who is fully committed. There is conveniently committed. There is partially committed. But having a champion’s mentality, that means no matter what, no matter why, no matter how, no matter what the circumstances, you are committed to being a champion.”     Just Keep Going    Motivation comes and goes. But dedication can help you reach the peak of your personal summit. “Just take the next step. Just keep walking. Just keep breathing. Keep hoping and you will get where you are supposed to be, you know? And that is number seven on Kobe’s thing. Just keep going. You are going to get hit with adversity. You are going to get hit right in the face with things that challenge you on a daily basis and you can either turn around or you can keep going.”    Athletes     During this episode of Finding Your Summit Podcast, Jim Mora also talks about how playing the blame game gets in the way of people taking responsibility for accomplishing their own prosperity. “I think it’s human nature when you have a failure, and I will just relate it to my job, when you are a football coach and someone fires you, your first instinct is to find someone to blame to relieve the angst that you feel. ‘It was their fault. It was their fault. Why did they do this? It was a bad decision.’ That is not productive at all. That is counterproductive and we all go through it. But the quicker you go through that and then turn the attention towards yourself and say, ‘OK, what decisions did I make that led to this failure?’ Links to Additional Resources: Jim Mora’s Website:  Jim Mora’s Social Media: Linkedin Mark Allen’s Email: mark@markallencoaching.com Mark Pattison: markpattisonnfl.com Emilia’s Everest for the Epilepsy Foundation: markpattisonnfl.com/philanthropy-wb/

Today’s show is brought to you by the HOW THEY DID IT, FILMMAKING podcast.   EPISODE 34 – BEST LAID PLANS   So here we are with the THIRD season of the show which will roll out every Sunday at 7pm GMT for the next few months. Occasionally you may find me releasing a couple of episodes per week as this season we have 18 new shows and a few of them are connected. I hope that the topics I will be bringing you will be helpful in your life and work. English innovation strategy specialist Max McKeown says “Adaptability is about the powerful difference between adapting to cope and adapting to win.”   I’ll be briefly talking you through season 3 today, but the episode is called BEST LAID PLANS for good reason, as often the plans that we make and attempt to put into action start to disintegrate about us and we need to stop, rethink what we are doing and make some changes before we move on again.   This subject has come up a few times on social media and is something I’ve had to deal with a few times myself this year.   Season Preview.   Baring in mind what I’ve just said, so this is subject to change, Season 3 will bring you more episodes based on the productivity techniques tips and tricks that have been working so well in the business and lifestyle worlds. These will include episodes about the 16 LAWS OF SUCCESS, ELEPHANT HABITS and DEVELOPING A SENSE OF URGENCY. As my TELL IT HOW IT IS episodes always seem to be popular I’ll also be including an episode about DEALING WITH BULLIES which is a particularly prevalent problem here and there in the Film Industry in my own country, and it may have some bearing in what you are dealing with wherever you are too. I’m wanting to do a show about BULLSHITTERS too but I haven’t figured out how to deliver that one yet without swearing. Bear with me.   Elsewhere this season I will be talking about STRESS and ANXIETY, ARROGANCE and PRIDE, IMPOSTER SYNDROME, something known as OUTRAGE PORN, CROWDFUNDING LESSONS, WHY WE SHOULDN’T APPLY FOR FUNDING and another recent discovery of mine called THE LABOR ILLUSION.   Most episodes will be based on the new 10-minute motivation format, which focuses down the show to one major topic without wandering too far, but some episodes such as CROWDFUNDING: LESSONS WERE LEARNED and this one here will run a bit longer as there’s a lot to cover.   The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry… wrote a paraphrased Robert Burns and that’s what I want to get into with this episode – you see we need to accept that no matter how carefully a strategy, a project, an – ANYTHING - is planned, SOMETHING may still go wrong. Mike Tyson says “Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth.” This year I’ve been figuratively PUNCHED IN THE MONTH a number of times and my plans have tumbled like a house of cards about me. 9 months into my BEST YEAR YET strategy which I introduced to you in the New Year Special I have had to entirely abandon my plans and move my focus on to different things.   There were several specific happenings that contributed to the general fucking up my efforts, but far from having regret over the change, I am celebrating in newfound freedom. I am thankful for all of those who said “no” to me. It’s because of them that I am doing it myself. Albert Einstein UNQUOTE The BEST YEAR YET system is a good one but I made a MAJOR MISCALCULATION IN MY STRATEGY - I hung several major goals on something which I had absolutely no control over. A funding application.   In hindsight, it was completely stupid but at the time I was very certain that I was making the right move. I felt somehow that my time had come and with my best project, which I’d been working on for several years, I was sure that I’d be successful. Oh, how wrong I was - Historically I’ve never had any form of tangible support from funding organisation, but this time seemed different - or so I thought.   It was an application not for financial support but for access to a mentoring programme with a residential element. I spent weeks on the application and had a number of people help me to refine and improve my project so that it was tailor-made to fit the application. Even the application form itself was refined and bettered over a series of passes and I got the application in on time… and I thought it was pretty darn good - that’s when things started going VERY wrong.   I had unwitting stepped into a minefield of unpredictability, completely out with my control. After I submitted the application - which incidentally - only had a three-week gap for submissions, the organisation running the things suddenly decided to extend the deadline for applications by a further 6 weeks.   To put it simply, this was disastrous for my BEST YEAR YET STRATEGY as it knocked my next two deadlines together and ensured that I could not complete every subsequent goal to the schedule I had laid out.   Had I not only hung my hopes on this application, and structured several of my main goals around it I would have been able to save my scheduled BEST YEAR YET PLAN. When they moved the goalposts, I couldn’t even re-submit an improved application as my next MAJOR Goal was Season 2 of this show, which launched successfully and on time, but only as I had complete control over it. That was the last of my scheduled MAJOR goals to be met this year.   To cut a long story short in regard to my application - I didn’t even get an interview for that mentoring programme - and it was the straw that broke the camel’s already heavily weighted back. If you’ve already heard my WHY IT’S OK TO GIVE UP EPISODE, you’ll know that I threw in the towel on my filmmaking dreams. As one door closes, however, another one opens.   Lesson   Incidentally, there’s a whole host of reasons why I might have been rejected but as they didn’t deign to share them with me - I’m going to say that my project just didn’t fit the bill. Whatever the reason though, I had to deal with it – and it took me a few months to recover as it was an incredibly destructive mistake. Things are moving again now with my newly created PLAN B. Mistakes are a part of life; you can't avoid them. All you can hope is that they won't be too expensive and that you don't make the same mistake twice. Lee Iacocca UNQUOTE Dealing with change in life is something that we all have to face up to as we just can’t control everything - although I do know a few people who think they can.   When the worst happens though - how do you deal with it? Do you resist change and fight? Or… Do you go with the flow and adapt? Do you spiral into depression or do you handle it with positivity? Me personally, I do a bit of both. I might quietly rage or get down about something but eventually, I get back up and try again.   · Like the earlier quote I used by Einstein, we have to face up to the fact that PAIN IS PART OF GROWING. It literally pains me to know this as I learned it the hard way, but if I hadn’t had a breakdown a few years ago, if I hadn’t lost both my parents one after the other, if I hadn’t had terrible times with awful people again and again on terrible creative projects - then I wouldn’t be here now pushing out my positivity and receiving it back via this show. Hard as it may seem to swallow sometimes, EVERY STRUGGLE IS A STEP FORWARD and will make you better.   It was through these difficult experiences that I learned to say to myself that THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Remember that everything in life is temporary, and the pain we feel today will fade in time - new doors will open in life and in our work and in our relationships. I often say here, DON’T WORRY, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK, because as adults we don’t hear it often enough. WE SIMPLY WORRY TOO MUCH and IT CHANGES NOTHING. I’ll be tackling worry and anxiety in a later episode this season. ANOTHER THING THAT CHANGES NOTHING IS COMPLAINING. Everyone likes a good moan so if you have to, go for it, but cut it off sooner rather than later or you’ll never be able to move past it. Like my application analogy earlier. I thought I at least deserved an interview – but I didn’t even get that. Who am I going to complain to though? And will my moaning about it all, get me anywhere at all? Of course not. I just had to, like I've done so many times before, BITE THE BULLET… AND MOVE ON. Remember too, THAT OTHER PEOPLE’S NEGATIVITY IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM. Don't let people pull you into their storms. Pull them into your peace. Look back to my episode on TOXIC PEOPLE. Joel Osteen says You cannot expect to live a positive life if you hang with negative people so when things don’t go as planned, you may want to look at who you are working with, before you start over – without them. Instead of being swept up in the negativity that comes when your plans fall apart, FIND A POSITIVE WAY TO MOVE PAST IT. We are human and we know it’s a total drag when things go wrong as it’s going to be a load of work to get things going again, but stay positive. I won’t use the glass as half full analogy, but Alphonse Karr has a great play on this in reference to negativity from others. He says Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses. WHAT WILL BE, WILL BE is something I find myself repeating to myself when things are playing out. SUCH IS LIFE. Sometimes accepting that a greater universal play is in hand and your plans have failed, is something you eventually must realise if you are to move on. I’m not saying give up too soon, I’m saying when all is lost, recognise your situation and accept that change is going to happen. And with all that said you must find the power to JUST KEEP GOING. Next episode I’m going to be discussing the SENSE OF URGENCY that we must develop in ourselves if we are to achieve our goals and our dreams in a timely manner. Have your moment of failure, and accept it. Then get back on your feet and dust yourself down. I’d like to end by saying that if your strategy has failed if you’ve miscalculated in some way, made an error or just a catalogue of bad choices - then learn from your mistakes before moving forward again with a NEW STRATEGY. Remember another famous quote from Albert Einstein Einstein said Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Summing Up   I’ve covered elements of this topic before but with the series of bad decisions and bad collaborations I’ve had recently, and the subsequent abandonment of my filmmaking goals this year - I felt I really had to revisit it.   I hope it’s been useful to you and has opened up your mind a little. I also hope that you continue to learn from my mistakes which I catalogue here - despite my best efforts to avoid making them.       Call To Action   Your call to action today is to think of a time where you have made a bad choice and ask yourself - Have I learned from this? Am I still making the same mistake? If you are, then give yourself a shake, and make a deal to never let it happen again. We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of it. Rick Warren UNQUOTE Ending   Remember that YOUR SCARS ARE A SYMBOL OF YOUR STRENGTH so embrace your failures and if you are in a BAD place, remember the words THIS TOO SHALL PASS. Just breath and remind yourself that everything is going to be all right.   I’m looking for your help this season as I have an upcoming MAILBAG episode. It’s effectively a listeners questions show. Today’s topic came up in discussion with Glasgow Filmmaker Colin Ross Smith so your problems and questions are very useful for me in identifying the problems that you are dealing with – That in turn will lead to better and more on point shows. Find out the exciting ways people are putting the science into practice within their Communities, Organizations and Lives.  In this episode, Emiliya Zhivotovskaya CEO & Founder, The Flourishing Center highlights Anthony Simeone, a speaker, writer, and personal development coach tells us about his mission to promote the concept of everyday heroism, which urges people to take an active and positive approach to their daily lives. “WHEN you feel like you are going through HELL…  JUST KEEP GOING! BE YOUR OWN HERO” He created Live The Hero which is the embodiment of his efforts to make the knowledge of positive psychology more easily accessible to as many people as possible.  Inspiring men to Live the hero…Is all about appreciating the journey! Anthony says. “Let's face it, most men have been given flimsy advice to live by, which usually amounts to nothing deeper or profound than “suck it up, be tough, be a man.” So, Anthony decided enough was enough. Finally, after years of struggle, study, and searching, he created a life path that serves men, rather than enslaves them to shallow ideas about what it means to be a man. Anthony created Live The Hero community. He helps men redefine what it means to be a “real man.” Anthony uses positive psychology tools for many of his programs. Listen to find out about the many inspiring ways Anthony is making a difference in the world today! Discover his unique methods of self-care practices that allow him to be high functioning! You might even be inspired to jazz up your vocabulary! Anthony can be reached through his website at www.livethehero.com For Full show notes & more information on what we have to offer,  visit The Flourishing Center at:  www.theflourishingcenter.com

It's been a long time...we shouldn't have left you without a dope mom to keke with. Let's just say 2018 has been a doozy; if our lives were a book, this chapter would be entitled "For Dope Moms Who Considered Giving Up When Spa Days Aren't Enough". Sometimes, there just isn't some black-girl-magical way to balance your passion project and the demands of everyday life. Sometimes you have to hit pause--even when your inner beast is screaming JUST KEEP GOING, because you know your soul is tired. So you take a break.  And that's just what we did. But now we are back and coming to you raw and uncut on these internet streets every week-ish. So come by and stay a while. We have wine, whisky, and "Gorilla Glue" for our West Coast listeners. :)

JUST KEEP GOING. There are three fears we struggle with the most: The fear of failure The fear of success And the fear of judgment. The center of all of those fears is “I am not enough.” When we get past that, we can step into anything. People-pleasing is an issue a lot of us face. It’s crazy how we can allow one person’s opinion of us to hold us back. That’s why I really enjoyed my conversation with a bestselling mom who overcame her need to make other people happy: Rachel Hollis. Rachel had been working for over a decade on her career, her marriage, and her brand before her career took off. She wrote six books that hardly sold any copies. Her seventh book became a hit. Her life changed with one viral post that created the momentum for her bestselling book. Girl, Wash Your Face has over a million copies sold and is growing every week. She is host of the RISE Podcast and co-host of the RISE Together podcast. She is a mother of four who was named one of the "Top 30 Entrepreneurs under 30" by Inc. Magazine. She is an amazing example of the power of not giving up. So learn how to follow your dreams and live for yourself (even if you’re a mom) on Episode 697.

If you would like join a group of like minded Goal Getters who want to become Goal Getting Masters, join us by Going to GoalGettingPodcast.com/masters to sign up and I will add you to the Facebook Group. Click Below to Listen to Today's Show       When you're ready to quit, you're closer than you think. There's an old Chinese saying that I think is really true. It goes like this: "The Temptation to Quit Will Be Greatest Just Before You Are About To Succeed" ~~ Bob Parsons   Wow, do you get frustrated because you've been trying to be successful at something and just don't seem to be able to get the goal you set?  Do you think about quitting?  Do you think you should just hand it up? That's the feeling our quote is all about. There is a book by Sharon Lechter and an old cartoon about being 3 feet from gold. A prospector is digging for gold and gets frustrated and drops his pick and just 3 feet from where he stops is a vein of Gold Nuggets like you wouldn't believe. The moral of the cartoon and the book is what this quote talks about. We will be just about to break loose and succeed, but we will be tempted to just quit. It will be greater the closer we are to succeeding.  What we're trying to say is, DON'T QUIT! The more you feel it the closer you are to achieving your goals. Ignore the temptation! Just Keep Going! Keep Digging!   Go Out Today and Kick Temptation in the Teeth! Never Quit!         Thanks for listening to Goal Getting Quote of the Day.
