Can diet and exercise alone solve all your woes. Probably not but they can help.In this podcast, Carlene shares an email she received from a mental-health group that espouses all Carlene has been telling people for years. And it is researched based.Fruits, veggies (especially greens), walking and gratitude have all been shown to increase wellbeing. On the website for this podcast, she has included the email she received and it has the links for you to go explore the actual research yourself. It's powerful. All these years working with obese women at RawFoodBootCamp.com has shown us just how true this is. Now even the non-obese, non-dieters can benefit from all that was learned and is now validated by scientific research. Today, we all seem to feel we need to accomplish so much. We need to take care of the world and we need to be the best at everything. If you were to write down your goals today it would become a list, a long list probably. But if I asked you to write down by each goal the last time you worked on reaching that goal, many of those dates would include cobwebs. It's time we take examine our goal lists and decipher what do we truly want. This audio is all about defining your true wants and then planning a path to achieve them. I recommend no more than 3 real wants at a time. When there are too many they all find behind. But you knew that already. Listen to the audio and get to work. What is it you want, what you really really want.Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)
Once you figure out what you want, it's time to decipher how to get there. I like reverse engineering. I know where the end goal is, now what are all the things I need to learn and do to get there. This podcast is about reverse engineering. I do it for you with my want of building a 13-foot troll. There are so many things I have to learn or perfect to be able to get the guy I want. I need to know those things. Once I know them I can decide what do I need to learn, to buy, to practice to get them. Those things become my mini-goal list that I work on to get where I want to go. Once you define your want, make that list and create your path to successfully achieve your want.Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)
Procrastination is the greatest foil to our dreams or is it the favorite excuse to not go after our dreams. When you want something you have to work for it. You have to work hard for it. That means every day that want needs to be part of your day either actively pursuing it with work and effort, learning more about it, or finding the people you need to succeed to get it.Surround yourself with reminders of what you want. Pictures, podcasts, google searches, Pinterest, whatever it takes to keep you want in the forefront of your mind then set time aside every day, even if it is just 10 minutes and you are just daydreaming about what it will be like when it happens. Some days you may be too busy to actually accomplish something or you try and get nowhere for that day. That's okay as long as you are mentally engaged with your want daily.Listen to the podcast and come up with your own routine and strategies for making your want part of your daily life. Then don't procrastinate, go get it done.Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)

Today, half of the United States and many parts of the world decided to stay in lockdown until May 15th. I know you were hoping to get back to normal sooner than that. You need to be free! To go back to work, to feel confident about the future again and yet, that anxiety and stress is building. Today's podcast is about the importance of letting go of the worry, of taking those deep breaths and instead of reacting calming yourself so you can rationally respond instead. Take action on the things you can control and let go of the things you can't. Your health both physically and emotionally demands it.Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)
Today's audio is about this idea that stay at home means imprisoned in our home. It's not and it's important that we don't go there. We are social creatures and need each other. Use the internet to meet up with people. Go out to parks and walk. Drive around just to get out of the house. We can do this. We need to be socially responsible but we also need to protect our own well-being in the confines of what we are asked to do for our community.Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)

If we base everything we do on how we feel in the moment, our creativity, our success will remain sporadic and most often unfinished. Life is not all rainbows and unicorns. To succeed at anything, we have to work for it. From dieting to becoming a rocket scientist from artist to rising corporate CEO. Emotions have nothing, can have nothing, to do with it. We must achieve what we need to do regardless of how we feel in the moment.Carlene is in her drill sergeant mode in this podcast. She has watched too many give up on success just because they live their lives based on in the moment feelings. We achieve because we do even when we don't feel like doing. Rock bottom is the perfect place for change. True change. Not let's try again change, but a complete overhaul. It can be a scary place, at first, but when you are so broken and don't know where to go, if you calm yourself, breathe, and sit quietly the inner you will find that spark of hope and help you see with more clarity than you have in a long time. The fall to rock bottom is brutal, but once you're there it can't get worse. It can't hurt more. Sure you may choose to stay there for a bit, a day, a week, a few weeks, but in the end, you know that there is only one person who can fix you, and that's you. Listen to my podcast. I've been there myself, rock bottom and while it hurts it offers a true time of reflection and through that reflection, we are finally able to listen to ourselves. I believe, deep down, we all know what we want and what we have to do to get it. We just get so bogged down in life, other people's expectations, and even our own, that we lose trust in ourselves. Rock bottom leaves us empty and with only ourselves to count on.It's a pivotal point for so many. If you're at rock bottom, don't despair. Use it. We are born survivors and innately have what it takes to protect and care for ourselves even if it means battling our own demons, looking for outside professional help, even going to rehab. Or the hardest thing ever: believing in ourselves. Be aware I am not a professional mental health expert. I am just a woman who has been there herself and who has helped many others seeking a way out of their own pits of despair. I share my own experience and what helped me, that's all. There are some things all the advice in the world can't help. Be open to that.If you are experiencing deep dark depression and are having suicidal thoughts, seek professional help. Do you ever find yourself pondering how your life would be different if you made other choices in your life like what if I had or hadn't married my high school sweetheart. What if that horrible thing had never happened. We all do it and it can be fun. But there is a dark side to it. What if we always feel we lost out by the choices or circumstances of our past and use them as an excuse to not move forward. I borrowed the Newsy newstation's moto of Be Informed Not Influenced because when it comes to dieting, especially picking out the new year's resolution diet, we tend to find the newest trend and go for it. Think about last year and the year before that and the year before that. Each year a new resolution and a new diet. This time, I'm going to do it. This time this diet will work. But it doesn't and for most by Valentines it's a done deal. This podcast, part 1 in a series to help you pick the right diet for you is all about being informed and not influenced when it comes to choosing that diet. Why not invest a little bit of time before the start of the year and figure out a diet you can do long term, one that will work for you and one you can then modify into the right diet for your life?Aren't resolutions about change? Make the right change. Be informed before you choose that diet and make 2019 the Year of You!Support the show (http://www.changewithcarlene.com/support-carlenes-podcast-channel/)
