What do you do when you're losing hope in your marriage/a relationship? Not because you don't love your spouse. Not because you're giving up. But because the same painful patterns keep repeating, and you're exhausted waiting for change. In this episode, we talk about why many of us misunderstand biblical hope, especially in relationships. We often treat hope like optimism, instant relief, or confidence our spouse will finally change. But what if hope was never meant to work that way?We explore why hope is not a feeling you wait for, but a perspective you cultivate, how to stay anchored when change feels slow, and why remembering God's faithfulness matters in seasons of recurring pain.Because hope doesn't always change your circumstances immediately, but it does change how you endure while waiting :) Two Youtube Video Jenna refrenced about Hope: #1 Video for "Remembering" #2 Video for "Remembering"Click here for the $24 Group Coaching Package 2 calls : June 2 & July 7 @ 9am pstClick here for the "Summer Support" 6x 10 min 1:1 phone calls with Jenna On sale for $89 until June 2 Our Pre-Marriage E-course is like coaching from your couch. Adam Spector, founder of Chore, four-time entrepreneur, and startup investor, joins Jerome Myers for a conversation about building in a world where the tools are moving faster than most people can process. From San Francisco's AI boom to the rising bar for young professionals, Adam shares why speed, focus, and delegation have become critical advantages for founders. He explains why entrepreneurs often become the “janitor” of their own companies, handling payroll, HR, finance, compliance, and other back-office work that pulls them away from the work only they can do. Jerome and Adam also explore AI's impact on jobs, education, startup investing, and founder behavior. Adam offers a clear challenge to business owners and ambitious professionals: stop waiting for permission, start building proof, and protect your most valuable resource: time. This episode is for founders, operators, investors, and professionals who want to understand what it takes to compete in the age of AI without losing sight of the life they are trying to build. In this episode: Why San Francisco remains the center of the AI boomHow AI is raising the bar for founders and job seekersWhy speed is now a strategic advantageWhat Adam looks for when investing in foundersWhy founders get trapped doing low-leverage workHow Chore helps entrepreneurs delegate back-office operationsWhy proof of work matters more than a polished resumeThe real cost of spending your time on the wrong thingsWhy the gatekeepers are gone Guest: Adam SpectorAdam Spector is a four-time founder, startup investor, and founder of Chore. If sex has started feeling like one more thing you're supposed to do in your relationship . . . this episode is for you.Maybe you still love your partner… but sex feels heavy, pressured, awkward, or emotionally draining. You want to want it — but instead you find yourself avoiding initiation, feeling disconnected, or wondering why intimacy feels so different than it used to.In this episode, Heather talks with sex and intimacy coach Xanet Pailet about the emotional patterns that quietly turn passionate relationships into roommate dynamics — including resentment, emotional disconnection, unresolved conflict, and feeling emotionally unsafe with your partner. They also discuss:Why couples stop wanting sex over timeThe emotional roots of sexless marriagesWhy unresolved resentment kills intimacyHow emotional safety impacts desireWhy many couples feel lonely even when they “never fight”The hidden patterns underneath low desireWhy sex can start feeling like another choreHow couples rebuild emotional and sexual connectionXanet also shares her personal story of surviving a 26-year sexless marriage, healing sexual shame and vaginismus, and eventually becoming a sex and intimacy coach helping couples reconnect emotionally and physically. If you've been feeling emotionally disconnected, stuck in resentment, or struggling to understand why attraction has faded in your relationship, this conversation will help you understand what's really happening underneath the surface.
You said "I do," and then assumed sex would just figure itself out. For a lot of couples, it doesn't. And the silence around that can make you feel like you're the only one struggling. In this episode, we get honest about the first three years of our marriage, when sex felt more like a burden than a blessing, and what we wish someone had told us sooner. We unpack the lingering weight of purity culture, the lie that physical intimacy should "just come naturally," and the small shifts that slowly turned things around. Whether you're a newlywed, engaged and prepping for the marriage bed, or a long-married couple wanting to grow, this conversation offers a hopeful, faith-informed look at what healthy intimacy in a Christian marriage can actually look like, and how to start talking about it without shame. In this episode:Why "sex is good and from God" is easier to believe in theory than in your bodyThe lonely myth that intimacy should come naturally, and why it often doesn'tThe one mindset shift that takes sex from transactional to deeply connecting"Chore play" and why foreplay starts hours before the bedroomHow to actually talk about sex with your spouse (without it getting weird)Why growing together sexually is one of the most underrated gifts of marriageYour one-degree shift for this weekFREE WEEKLY MARRIAGE MEETING TEMPLATE Mentioned in this episode:Download the FREE Weekly Marriage Meeting TemplateDownload the FREE Weekly Marriage Meeting Template at onedegreemarriage.com/meeting

The era of "testing" AI is over. For retail leaders, the tension has shifted from theoretical potential to a mandatory operational overhaul. If you aren't actioning data within 24 hours, you're already behind. Recorded at Shoptalk, quip CEO Meredith Glansberg joins Kimberly Morgan, a Top AI Leader, to dismantle the hype surrounding retail tech. Glansberg argues that AI isn't a "point solution"—it is a foundational layer that must support the high-trust, high-touch reality of wellness products. KEY INSIGHTS:
Chris Hagenow and John Hendrickson are back at the Hendrickson Library for another episode of ITR Live, checking in on Iowa politics as the legislative session heads into its final stretch and the June primary begins to take shape. With 46 days until primary day, the race for governor is heating up — and candidates across the board are hitting the airwaves in chore coats and barn settings, leaning hard into the affordability message. Chris and John break down what that word actually means: grocery bills, gas prices, monthly expenses — and trace the root causes back to Biden-era inflationary spending, a broken border policy that drove up housing demand, and the steady resistance from the left to every meaningful tax reform Iowa has pursued. On the legislative front, the session appears likely to run into overtime as negotiators work toward a property tax deal. The Senate and House are each operating from separate proposals — the Senate bill trimmed back its senior exemption and local option sales tax provisions, while the House bill, aligned with Governor Reynolds, maintains a clean 2% revenue limitation without changes to the rollback formula. Chris walks through the mechanics of fiscal notes — the Legislative Services Agency documents that score bills for their budget impact — and explains why, in a property tax system this complex, a uniform revenue limitation is the clearest and most defensible tool for delivering real relief. The bottom line: if you don't control spending, you don't control property taxes.Beyond property taxes, the House passed a school choice bill with language to protect private schools from Department of Education overregulation — a meaningful safeguard for educational freedom. The budget targets between chambers are reportedly close, though the eminent domain question tied to the carbon capture pipeline remains unresolved. Pressure to wrap up is real: legislators want to get back to their districts to campaign, and under Iowa ethics rules, they can't collect PAC money while session is in session. In the bonus segment, John brings two items worth watching nationally. Iowa climbed five spots — from 30th to 25th — in the 19th edition of ALEC's Rich States Poor States index, driven largely by the flat tax and broader tax reform efforts, even as competition from other reform-minded states intensifies. More alarming: Virginia has joined the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, meaning its electoral votes would go to the winner of the national popular vote regardless of how Virginians vote. Chris and John make the case that this scheme is constitutionally dangerous, practically unworkable at a national recount scale, and fundamentally designed to dilute the influence of states with sound election integrity laws — handing presidential elections to the largest TV markets in the country.0:00:13 - Welcome Back to the Hendrickson Library0:02:28 - Trivia: Iowa's Theodore Roosevelt-Era Treasury Secretary0:04:01 - Governor's Race: 46 Days to the Primary0:05:09 - TV Ad Trends: Every Candidate Has a Chore Coat0:07:16 - What "Affordability" Actually Means0:09:40 - Tracing the Affordability Crisis Back to Policy Choices0:12:52 - When Everything Gets Blamed on Tariffs0:13:49 - Will There Be a Republican Gubernatorial Debate?0:15:46 - Iowa Legislature: Heading Into Overtime0:16:24 - Property Tax Reform: Senate vs. House Proposals0:23:47 - Fiscal Notes 101: How Bills Get Scored at the Capitol0:28:41 - Why a Revenue Limitation Is the Heart of Property Tax Reform0:32:32 - Hendrickson Bonus Coverage0:33:18 - ALEC Rich States Poor States: Iowa Moves Up to #250:34:51 - Virginia Joins the National Popular Vote Compact0:37:01 - Why the Electoral College Must Be Defended

Friend or foe? More powerful or less? Your team is answering those two questions about every person in your building, all day, on repeat. Dr. Dave walks through the four characters that emerge from that scan, why your Cynic is costing you more than you think, and why the place to start is you.
We all want that "mountain-top" faith, but most of our lives happen in the mundane middle. This week, we're getting honest about self-discipline. It's not about being a spiritual superhero; it's about showing up (even when you don't feel like it) and finding rhythms that invite God in every day. Katie Rose and John get real about why staying disciplined is so hard, the small steps that make the biggest difference, and the freedom to be found on the other end of consistency.

Efficient chores aren't about moving faster — they're about deciding the order once so you don't have to rethink it every morning. When chores feel chaotic or take longer than they should, it's usually not because there's too much to do. It's because there isn't a clear system in place. In this episode, I walk you step-by-step through my winter morning livestock chores — not just what I do, but why I do it in that order. From removing distractions first, to batching tasks, to building physical reminders into the environment, I explain the simple principles that keep our barn running smoothly — even during mud season. You'll hear how I structure chores to reduce wasted motion, prevent frustration, train livestock guardian dogs during daily routines, and build systems that protect future me from unnecessary work. The goal isn't perfection. It's consistency and clarity. If you've ever felt scattered during chores or like you're making three trips back to the barn for one forgotten thing, this episode will help you step back, think through your own order of operations, and build a routine that works with your life — not against it. In This Episode, I Cover: Why chaotic chores are usually a systems problem, not a workload problem What “order of operations” looks like in real-life livestock management How removing distractions first saves time and reduces frustration Why batching tasks reduces wasted motion How to use physical reminders in your environment so you don't rely on memory Training livestock guardian dogs during daily chores instead of adding extra time Using daily chores as an opportunity for livestock observation How efficient systems protect your time during busy seasons Why each family member having their own routine can improve consistency How to adjust your routine when seasons and chore demands change Key Takeaways: Efficient chores are built on order, not speed Clear routines reduce mental load and decision fatigue Batching similar tasks saves time and motion Building reminders into your environment prevents forgotten steps Regular observation during chores helps catch problems early Systems protect your time when workload increases Related Episodes: 02 | Overwhelmed? 4 Steps to Create a Practical Plan for Adding Livestock to Your Homestead Successfully 03 | Ready for Goats! 4 Steps to Help You Confidently Shop for and Purchase Your First Goats 06 | What Livestock Should I Get First? The world is a spiritual place. God created the universe and everything in it. By that logic, who's to say that business can't be spiritual, too? So says Barry Rowan, a Harvard Business School graduate and the author of The Spiritual Art of Business: Connecting the Daily with the Divine. What does it mean to submit yourself to the total lordship of Jesus Christ? What does it look like when you view your job as a mission field rather than a mine field? “We don't derive meaning from our work; we bring meaning to our work,” declares Barry. A purposeful life brings meaning. Find your God-given purpose, and understand that we were created for a specific time in history to work and to serve those around us. This will animate your work life and energize it in ways you never thought possible!TAKEAWAYSThere is no dividing line between our workplace and the spiritual world and all aspects of our existence are spiritualThe greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, minds, and soulsWhen we submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the world becomes less, and He becomes MORESubmission to the Lord begins to replace self-centered desires with heavenly desires
This week on AwesomeCast 764, cohosts Michael Sorg, Dave Podnar, and Katie Dudas dive into the week's biggest tech and creator stories—plus a special Animal Crossing 3.0 update field report from Charlotte. Katie checks in with her Animal Crossing–obsessed niece Charlotte to break down what's new, what's addictive, and how “slumber islands” change the way you build and share your island adventures. Then the crew hits a surprisingly heartfelt app story with “Are You Dead?”, a daily check-in safety app built for modern life when friends and family live far apart. We also get into the rise of cozy “chore games” like PowerWash Simulator and other satisfyingly organized gaming obsessions. On the creator side, we break down Apple's new Creator Studio approach—what it could mean for Final Cut, Logic, Motion, and Compressor—and why AI-assisted editing features are starting to matter for everyday workflows. Plus: OpenAI's push toward age prediction and the complications that come with automated verification. Books shape the way we view the world, they even change how we narrate the experiences of our life. When we read a book with a happy and courageous heroine, we began to narrate or describe our lives through the lens of being happy and courageous women. In 2025, we loved the Emma M. Lion books for the gentleness and joy and whimsy they brought into our lives. We loved Ronald Rolheiser for the lessons on community, and Isola for the lessons in forgiveness and courage. Now, in 2026 we're excited for a new list of books we're reading through and learning from, and new heroines who can shape our character. This great conversation is made possible by the Peaceful Press!
