In March of 2011 a tsunami struck Japan resulting in the deaths of 20,000 people. To help cope with the trauma and grief, a wind phone was placed along the water's edge. A wind phone is a pay phone that's not connected with phone lines. They're meant to be spaces where people can have conversations with the departed to help with the grieving process. In her film, 'The Wind Phone' Writer and Director Kristen Gerweck captures the essence of Japan's wind phone. In episode 20 I spoke with author Faith Wilcox. Faith Wilcox unfortunately lost her daughter to a rare form of cancer at a young age. To help herself cope with all the doctor visits, confusing medical terms and ultimately the grief of her daughter's death, Faith turned to journaling. Years later, Faith works with children, their families who are going through medical issues.
