PFF dropped their QB rankings entering the 2025 NFL season and Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels found himself at #6 on the list, just behind the Elite tier of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, along with High End Starter Jalen Hurts. The 2025 NFL Draft is just 1 week away! We bring in the expert of everything mock draft data, Ben Robinson, to talk to us about the mock draft data he's accumulated. His website, Grinding The Mocks, shows mock draft data for the top 50 players on the board, with more being revealed after the draft is over: https://grindingthemocks.shinyapps.io/Dashboard/We begin with our 1st round pick. Philosophically, do you draft for need or best player available? Ben goes with best player available…. but with a caveat. We go through names that are likely possible with that 1st round pick, including S Malaki Starks out of Georgia, EDGE Donovan Ezeiraku out of Boston College and James Pearce out of Tennessee, amongst others. The 2nd round pick is an intriguing conversation, with Amit and KDot being interested in RB at that spot (assuming it's a guy like Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson), but Ben pushes back and says it's important to continue bolstering the defense or going with a more premium position like WR in this spot. It would be the 4th round where you'd like at RBs like Bhayshul Tuten out of Virginia Tech or Damien Martinez out of Miami. We also talk NFL more broadly, asking about draft risers and fallers as we're just 1 week out from the 1st round. We touch on the Commanders stadium news, with it looking more and more likely that RFK is going to be the site for the team. The Commanders will put up $2.5 billion, while the city would pay up to $850 million on their side. The Comment Mailbag features 7 comments. Thank you all for the comments! Jayden Daniels is making a fantastic case for the best rookie season of all time.  He went 24/35 for 268 yards and 2 TDs, while also contributing 36 yards rushing.  The offense was supported by Dyami Brown and Terry McLaurin, who both finished with 89 yards and a TD.  The defense stepped up when it needed to, getting a fumble recovery by Bobby Wagner off of a Baker Mayfield mishandled hand-off and coming up big in multiple spots to ensure the Bucs only scored 20 points. The Washington Commanders beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 at home in an EPIC overtime game to move to 11-5 on the season and have officially clinched a spot in the playoffs. The 11-5 start to the season is the best since the 1991 season where they won the Superbowl. This game was all about the superstar rookie QB Jayden Daniels, who went 24/36 for 227 yards and 3 TDs, including the game-winner to Zach Ertz in overtime, and 1 INT. He also added 127 yards on the ground on 16 carries. Olamide Zaccheaus caught 8 balls for 85 yards and 1 TD, whil Terry McLaurin only had 1 catch for 5 yards in this game. The defense did not have a good game against Bijan Robinson, giving up over 90 yards on the ground to him, along with 2 TDs on 17 carries. Michael Penix made his road and primetime debut and looked shaky at times, but dialed in when the moments were brightest, converting 2 4th downs on their penultimate drive, including a 4th and goal to Kyle Pitts for a game-tying TD, and marching the Falcons down the field for a potential game-winning 56 yard field goal that Riley Patterson hit short. All the momentum is with the Commanders, but Daniel Jones is playing for his Giants career, so it will be a tricky game. We begin the show with the All-22 Review against the Chicago Bears. Jayden Daniels, playing with a rib injury, was our best and most composed player on offense. It concluded the magical Hail Mary to Noah Brown to win us the game. On the defensive side of the ball, Bobby Wagner and Johnny Newton get shout outs from KDot for their stellar performances in this game. The secondary continues to improve. The injury report for the Commanders shows Frankie Luvu hasn't practiced yet for them and that is a worrying sign for his availability on Sunday. If he can't go, Jordan Magee would likely be the fill in, but we could see Jeremy Chinn or Dominique Hampton step up into that role. On the other side, the Giants closely monitor Tyrone Tracy and his availability as he sits in concussion protocol. The Commanders offense, led by Jayden Daniels, take on the Giants defense that is fairly strong against the pass in a bend don't break style defense, but struggle mightily against the run, giving up 5.4 yards per carry. The last time the Commanders played the Giants, they struggled with penalties in the red zone. They will look to clean that up this week to give Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols proper chances to run and score. The Commanders defense, led by Bobby Wagner, take on a desperate Giants offense that features Daniel Jones, Tyrone Tracy and Malik Nabers. What is the best way to slow them down? As of now, it looks like Mariota is going to play, and this Chicago Bears defense, led by Jaylon Johnson, is the best defense statistically that the Commanders have faced so far. What is the best way to attack the Bears defense? Is it through the air to Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz and the crew? Or is it to run the ball with Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols? Their usual stars, LB Shaq Thompson and DT Derrick Brown, are both out for the season and the Panthers have struggled against every team they have faced. Look for potential opportunities for not only WR Terry McLaurin to have a big game in the passing game, but also rookie WR Luke McCaffrey and some others. The Washington Commanders smoked the Arizona Cardinals 42-14 this past Sunday. KDot dives into the All-22 footage to review the offense and the defense this past week. Beginning with the offense, the run game was on fire! Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 101 yards and a TD on 21 carries, Jeremy McNichols had 68 yards and 2 TDs on just 8 carries, and Jayden Daniels had 47 yards and a TD on 8 carries of his own. Tyler Biadasz is highlighted for his excellent play at center, along with the rest of the offensive line for their blocking and pulling, which is also a testament to our offensive line coach Bobby Johnson and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. Looking at the pass game, Jayden Daniels is becoming decisive with the ball. There are still a couple moments where he doesn't fully trust the NFL open throw, but he's developed tremendously since week 1 vs Tampa Bay. The defense was communicating and the corners did a better job with leverage! The defensive line, led by Dorance Armstrong, Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen, had themselves a day, pressuring Kyler Murray a bunch and limiting him to just 3 yards. Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner are also highlighted for being fantastic on defense, and Emmanuel Forbes and Jeremy Chinn receive shout outs for their efforts in run defense. The Washington Commanders (2-1) are on the road again this week to take on the Arizona Cardinals (1-2). This is the Commanders 3rd road game of the season already through 4 weeks. We begin by discussing the national media attention that the team has received. QB Jayden Daniels had a historic performance against the Cincinnati Bengals and the media took notice. How has that felt for us? What all did we hear? How have the narratives changed? We jump into the game preview with the injury report, highlighting that RB Austin Ekeler and DE Clelin Ferrell will both miss this week's game. On the other side, DT Justin Jones will miss the game for the Cardinals, and there's a chance TE Trey McBride also misses the game. The Commanders offense, coordinated by OC Kliff Kingsbury and commanded by QB Jayden Daniels, will face an Arizona Cardinals defense that is stout against the run, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry, and decent against the pass, though they give up a league high 75.3% completion percentage. Commanders UPSET Bengals 38-33 On Monday Night Football, Jayden Daniels Is HIM, Historic Performance

Wow. Just wow. The Washington Commanders, go to the Cincinnati Bengals and win 38-33 on Monday Night Football. QB Jayden Daniels arrived in spectacular fashion on the national stage, going 21/23 for 254 yards and 2 TDs, one an absolute DIME to WR Terry McLaurin to effectively seal the game. His 91% completion is the highest by a rookie in NFL history. The 38 points scored by the Commanders was the highest point total the franchise put up since Thanksgiving in 2020 when the Washington Football Team beat the Dallas Cowboys 41-16. The Commanders appear to have found their franchise QB after he outplayed the Bengals, featuring QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja'Marr Chase. Terry McLaurin had himself a day, with 100 yards and a TD receiving on 4 catches. WR Luke McCaffrey got involved this week with 3 catches for 44 yards, including a clutch 4th down conversion early on in the game. Brian Robinson Jr. was bottled up, but still found the endzone, finishing with 16 carries for 33 yards and that TD. Austin Ekeler was fantastic, with 3 carries for 35 yards and a TD, 2 catches for 22 yards, and a 62 yard kick return to set the tone for the 2nd half. The defense struggled as a whole, but did just enough to help secure the win. They continue to grow together as a unit. The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments! Before we jump into that, we go through the All-22 Review with KDot on the game against the New York Giants. How did Jayden Daniels look? The rest of the offense? What about the defense? Through 2 weeks, the way to attack the Bengals is on the ground. Run, run, run! Use Brian Robinson Jr., Austin Ekeler, and Jayden Daniels to maintain time of possession and protect our Commanders defense from having to do too much. What about Terry McLaurin and the passing attack? KDot and Amit explain what could still be available in that department. The Commanders defense has its hands full against Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and potentially Tee Higgins. How will they slow down a highly potent Bengals attack? Commanders Win 21-18 vs NYG, Jayden Daniels Grade & Postgame Thoughts

The Washington Commanders found a way to beat the New York Giants at Northwest Field in the team's home opener, 21-18. Jayden Daniels had a solid outing where he showed potential strides, staying in the pocket more and keeping his eyes downfield when he did escape the pocket. What grade would you give his performance? The team remains undisciplined. 10 penalties, and very costly ones at that, negating a kickoff return TD for Austin Ekeler, and 4 drives that were in the redzone got stalled due to false starts. How will Dan Quinn fix these issues? Other standouts of the game include new kicker Austin Seibert, who went 7/7 on his field goal attempts, and Brian Robinson Jr. who had a career high 133 rushing yards on 17 carries. On defense, Benjamin St. Juste had 3 pass deflections and a crucial forced fumble on Devin Singletary that changed the game and likely gave the Commanders the victory. The Washington Commanders host the New York Giants in Jayden Daniels NFL home debut at Northwest Field. This episodes previews the matchup where the Commanders are 1.5 point favorites at home. Before we dive into that, KDot dives into the All-22 film of the Commanders vs Bucs game and breaks down what he saw on film. This features positives and negatives for Jayden Daniels, the offensive line, Austin Ekeler, Brian Robinson, and the defense. The Giants lost their home opener to the Minnesota Vikings 28-6, and will look to bounce back against us. Daniel Jones is 5-1-1 against the Washington Commanders in his career. What is the key to stopping him, Malik Nabers and the Giants offense for Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne and the Commanders defense? The Commanders offense takes on a Giants defense that features a fantastic defensive line in Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Brian Burns. However, the secondary is suspect, with their best player being Deonte Banks, but then it's a pretty inexperienced and new secondary, featuring rookies Tyler Nubin and Dru Phillips. How can Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown and others take advantage of this situation? Where do Brian Robinson and Austin Ekeler fit into this against a defense that gave up 6.7 yards per carry to Aaron Jones? The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments! Thank you guys so much for the comments as always. We appreciate them. The Washington Commanders lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 37-20 at Raymond James Stadium. Jayden Daniels made his NFL debut, going 17/24 for 184 yards passing, and adding 16 rushes for 88 yards and 2 TDs. What did you make of the rookie QB's debut? Elsewhere, Brian Robinson Jr. had a strong performance, and Austin Ekeler looks like his old self after playing last year injured. The defense was atrocious, giving up 37 points to Baker Mayfield and the Bucs. Mayfield went 24/30 for 289 yards and 4 TDs, while only getting sacked once despite numerous pressures. Will this defense improve? Or is it going to look like last season's defense once again? Cade York missed his 2 field goal attempts as well. Will the Commanders make a move at kicker?
