The Washington Commanders have a clear need at RB this offseason, and so far we have our same RB room from last season in Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols. So, we look towards the draft to look at some of the prospects not named Ashton Jeanty. Who is your favorite RB in the 2025 NFL Draft? Names from Amit and KDot include Dylan Sampson, TreVeyon Henderson, Bhayshul Tuten, Tahj Brooks, Cam Skattebo, DJ Giddens, LeQuint Allen, Jaydon Blue and more.Adam Peters also had an interview with Kay Adams around the Commanders offseason and a possible Terry McLaurin extension, saying that we want Terry to be “A Commander for life”. What do you guys think of a possible Terry McLaurin extension? The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments. Thank you all for the comments! elcome to the Washington Commanders' Free Agent Frenzy — where the roster's getting juicier than a Command Corner tailgate burger! In the last 24 hours, the Commanders snagged Will Harris (the safety who's stickier than a lint roller on a dog sweater), Eddie Goldman (a 320-pound D-line beast who's basically a human fridge), Jonathan Jones (the Pats' ex-CB who's faster than a fan dodging traffic on I-95), Marcus Mariota (the QB guru here to mentor Jayden Daniels and compare Heismans, and Jeremy McNichols. Are these moves the secret sauce for a playoff run, or are we just stockpiling chaos for Dan Quinn's blender? Did AP cook? Smash that play button for raw reactions, breakdowns, and some seriously questionable hot takes. Like, subscribe, and tell us if this is a W or a glorious faceplant!
The Warm Up- The Commanders had a league-high 28 free agents at the end of the 2024 season. So far, they have re-signed Bobby Wagner, Zach Ertz, John Bates, Tress Way, Zane Gonzalez & Jeremy McNichols. Notable players Dyami Brown, Jeremy Chinn & Cornelius Lucas have signed elsewhere. The Washington Commanders (6-2) go on the road to take on the New York Giants (2-6) in week 9 of this NFL season. All the momentum is with the Commanders, but Daniel Jones is playing for his Giants career, so it will be a tricky game. We begin the show with the All-22 Review against the Chicago Bears. Jayden Daniels, playing with a rib injury, was our best and most composed player on offense. It concluded the magical Hail Mary to Noah Brown to win us the game. On the defensive side of the ball, Bobby Wagner and Johnny Newton get shout outs from KDot for their stellar performances in this game. The secondary continues to improve. The injury report for the Commanders shows Frankie Luvu hasn't practiced yet for them and that is a worrying sign for his availability on Sunday. If he can't go, Jordan Magee would likely be the fill in, but we could see Jeremy Chinn or Dominique Hampton step up into that role. On the other side, the Giants closely monitor Tyrone Tracy and his availability as he sits in concussion protocol. The Commanders offense, led by Jayden Daniels, take on the Giants defense that is fairly strong against the pass in a bend don't break style defense, but struggle mightily against the run, giving up 5.4 yards per carry. The last time the Commanders played the Giants, they struggled with penalties in the red zone. They will look to clean that up this week to give Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols proper chances to run and score. The Commanders defense, led by Bobby Wagner, take on a desperate Giants offense that features Daniel Jones, Tyrone Tracy and Malik Nabers. What is the best way to slow them down? The Commanders are 3.5 point favorites against the Giants on the road, and the over under is set at 44.5 points. Who do you predict will win? The Comment Mailbag features 20 comments! Thank you guys so much for the comments as always. We appreciate them. The Washington Commanders (5-2) host the Chicago Bears (4-2) in a game that was flexed to the 425pm slot on CBS this Sunday. The Commanders offense is going to either be led by Jayden Daniels or Marcus Mariota. It all depends on if Jayden's ribs are well enough for him to be able to play. As of now, it looks like Mariota is going to play, and this Chicago Bears defense, led by Jaylon Johnson, is the best defense statistically that the Commanders have faced so far. What is the best way to attack the Bears defense? Is it through the air to Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz and the crew? Or is it to run the ball with Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols? The Commanders defense has been in solid form recently and will look to continue that against #1 overall pick Caleb Williams and his trio of WR weapons in Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and DJ Moore. How do we look to slow the Bears offense down? The Bears are favored by 2.5 points at Northwest Stadium and the over under is set at 43.5 points. What is your prediction for the game? The All-22 Review is a quick one with KDot, who spends most of the time explaining what he saw out of Marcus Mariota, in anticipation of his potential start this Sunday. The Washington Commanders (4-2) host the Carolina Panthers (1-5) at home this Sunday at 4:05pm ET on CBS. The Commanders will look to go 5-2 for the first time since 2018 with a victory on Sunday. The Commanders offense, led by superstar rookie QB Jayden Daniels, takes on an injured Panthers defense that features only 1 blue chip player in CB Jaycee Horn. Their usual stars, LB Shaq Thompson and DT Derrick Brown, are both out for the season and the Panthers have struggled against every team they have faced. Look for potential opportunities for not only WR Terry McLaurin to have a big game in the passing game, but also rookie WR Luke McCaffrey and some others. The Panthers have also allowed 12 rushing TDs to RBs this season. Brian Robinson, Austin Ekeler, and Jeremy McNichols should all have a comfortable outing. The Commanders defense, now without DT Jonathan Allen for the rest of the season, take on a sneaky Panthers offense led by QB Andy Dalton, who is great against man coverage, but awful vs zone coverage. Does this mean we will see more zone coverage against the Panthers? WR Diontae Johnson is 3rd in the NFL in targets since Andy Dalton became the starter. The other person that needs to be watched is RB Chuba Hubbard, who is averaging over 5 yards a carry. KDot and Amit give their predictions for the game, along with the player of the game. The All-22 Review of the Commanders vs Ravens game reveals more insights on Jayden Daniels and the overall defensive effort from last week. The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments. The Washington Commanders lost on the road to the Baltimore Ravens 30-23. They drop to 4-2 on the season, but still in 1st place in the NFC East. Jayden Daniels was very good once again, going 24-35 for 269 yards and 2 TDs, which included a converted 4th and goal to Terry McLaurin in the corner of the endzone. The team missed Brian Robinson Jr., only getting 30 yards rushing from Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols in his absence. The defense got off to a strong start, with an interception by CB Mike Sainristil. The defense also forced a punt in the 1st quarter, limiting the Ravens to just 3 points in that quarter. However, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry got going, leading the Ravens to victory both on the ground and through the air. WR Zay Flowers was excellent, catching 9 balls for 123 yards. The Washington Commanders hosted, and destroyed, the Cleveland Browns 34-13 and moved to 4-1 on the season with 4 straight wins now. It's the first time Washington has been 4-1 since 2008! The defense was absolutely fantastic today, allowing 212 total yards and Frankie Luvu ran the show with 2.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and 2 tackles for loss. Bobby Wagner was also awesome and forced that fumble that Luvu recovered. Deshaun Watson was awful for the Browns, putting up a QBR of 8.5 and getting sacked 7 times. Jayden Daniels was great once again, this time going 14/25 for 238 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT and ran 11 times for 82 yards. After throwing the early INT, Daniels bounced back and led the offense to 34 points on the day. The RBs (Ekeler, McNichols, Robinson) combined for 20 carries for 129 yards and 3 TDs, 2 for Brian Robinson and 1 for Jeremy McNichols. Austin Ekeler also added 2 receptions for 30 yards. Up next? The 3-2 Baltimore Ravens. Can we pull off the upset? The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments. Thank you all for the comments! We greatly appreciate them as always. Next, we shift our focus to the Falcons' surprising win against the Saints, examining their reliance on defense and special teams while acknowledging their ongoing offensive struggles. We'll break down the Ravens' statement victory over the Bills, with Derrick Henry's historic touchdown run, and the Bills' concerning performance that raises questions moving forward. We'll also touch on Jared Goff's record-setting day with the Lions and the Seahawks' defensive woes. As we look ahead to Week 5, we'll make bold predictions for crucial matchups, including the Buccaneers vs. Falcons showdown, the Browns vs. Commanders clash, and a key AFC North battle between the Ravens and Bengals. Plus, we'll discuss how the Saints might adapt against the Chiefs without key players, and whether the Cowboys can continue their momentum against the Steelers.
The Warm Up- We take one last look at the total annihilation of the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday in the desert and another stellar performance from rookie QB Jayden Daniels. But there were other unsung heroes like Jeremy McNichols & Olamide Zaccheaus.
The Washington Commanders smoked the Arizona Cardinals 42-14 this past Sunday. KDot dives into the All-22 footage to review the offense and the defense this past week. Beginning with the offense, the run game was on fire! Brian Robinson Jr. rushed for 101 yards and a TD on 21 carries, Jeremy McNichols had 68 yards and 2 TDs on just 8 carries, and Jayden Daniels had 47 yards and a TD on 8 carries of his own. Tyler Biadasz is highlighted for his excellent play at center, along with the rest of the offensive line for their blocking and pulling, which is also a testament to our offensive line coach Bobby Johnson and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. Looking at the pass game, Jayden Daniels is becoming decisive with the ball. There are still a couple moments where he doesn't fully trust the NFL open throw, but he's developed tremendously since week 1 vs Tampa Bay. The defense was communicating and the corners did a better job with leverage! The defensive line, led by Dorance Armstrong, Daron Payne and Jonathan Allen, had themselves a day, pressuring Kyler Murray a bunch and limiting him to just 3 yards. Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner are also highlighted for being fantastic on defense, and Emmanuel Forbes and Jeremy Chinn receive shout outs for their efforts in run defense. Davante Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Should the Commanders trade for him? Will the Commanders trade for him? The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments! The Washington Commanders have back-to-back road wins, this time beating the Arizona Cardinals 42-14. The win pushes the Commanders to 3-1 and in sole possession of 1st place in the NFC East. Jayden Daniels was efficient once again, going 26 of 30 for 233 yards, a TD and an INT, also adding 47 rushing yards and a TD. Kliff Kingsbury called a masterful game on offense, which also saw the running backs do serious damage to the Cardinals. Brian Robinson Jr ran for 101 yards and a TD, while Jeremy McNichols ran for 68 yards and 2 TDs. The Commanders now have the most electric offense in the NFL. It wasn't just the offense that did well. The Commanders defense stepped up in a big way. Kyler Murray was held to 142 passing yards and just 3 rushing yards. Marvin Harrison Jr. caught a TD, but was held to just 45 receiving yards.
