This week in the first episode of a new season Katie and Darren talk about Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott claasic novel Little Women. They chat about how this was the led up project to her taking on Barbie, her second film with both Saoirse Ronan & Timothée Chalamet, and also this is the first film that Timmy & Florence Pugh got together in before they took on the iconic roles of Paul Atreides & Princess Irulan. Merry Christmas!! We conclude season 6 with a 20 year-old classic that noboby talks about. Katie and Darren talk about Peter Pan. It was the holiday season of 2003 when Peter Pan first hit the theater. The gang mentions how they were excited when the tralier came out playing to "Clocks" by Coldplay and then neither one saw it in the theater. Both discovered it on DVD and loved it. Darren talks about how it is one of his favorite movies and Katie compares it to other takes on JM Barrie's classic. Come along to Neverland for the final episode of the season as they discuss a great and underappreciated film.
This week we are going backn in the way back machine to 2011 when indie sci-fi was on the in. Another Earth is the film written by director Mike Cahill and star Brit Marling. Darren and Adrienne are here to break downthe movie as well as the fakeout at the end when it looks like Mutt was ready to take up the mantle of Iniana Jones; only to have Indy snatch the hat away from him. It is a cool action flick and worthy sequel of the Predator franchise. So come on and join us as we eat, love, and talk about Prey.
A long absents and we are back out of the gate with a tale from the master satirest William Shakespeare and starring one of the best romantic duos in Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. We are talking about the 1967 hit romantic comedy The Taming of the Shrew directed by Franco Zeffirelli. This rom-com has endeared and inspired a lot of modern day remakes. Also we ponder who could have also been a good screen couple to star in this film. Enjoy!
To end our long hiatus, Katie and Darren talk about The Halloween Tree. Based on a Ray Bradbury short story, this Hanna-Barbera animated tv film was made in one of the greatest decades of animated works, which might have lead to its obscurity. We close out our Jurassic Franchise episdoes with Jurassic World: Dominion. It was six movies made in an almost a 30 year span. This is the conclusion to the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy as Jurassic joins the Star Wars and Halloween franchises to have a sequel trilogy to the original film. This movie grossed a billion and pushed the series into new territory of not going back to that fucking island. Continuing into the new trilogy of Jurassic movies, this week Darren and Adrienne give their takes on Jurassic World. This soft reboot was able to strike a chord with the generations that were kids when the original came out and appeal to the new younger generations. This episode is dedicated to our friend John Hardin who we lost later that year in 2015.

This week GOF continue their reviews of the Jurassic Park moives with the odd sequel, The Lost World. This flick was based on the follow up novel that Michael Crichton did not want to write and the movie does not care to explore his ideas as Steven Spielberg and David Koepp do their own story. What happened to all the fun characters from the first movie? They are replaced with a bunch of idiots that kinda deserve to die. This is a lackluster sequel at best. Enjoy!!

In this installment of GOF the gang talks about the adaptation of Virginia Woolf's gender bender trippy novel Orlando. It is story of a young man transitioning into a young woman and living forever. Orlando the film is beautifully shot with an amazing color pallet. The film stars Tilda Swinton and Billy Zane and is directed by the female Canadian version of Terrence Malick, Sally Potter. The gang chats about Tilda Swinton being the perfect actor to play Orlando, Billy Zane's wig, Russian troussers and of course Virginia Woolf. She was so ahead of her time which begs the question of why are some many English feminists reactionarys.? We arre looking at you JK Rowling. Enjoy!!

They discuss the politics, the suspense, and the great cast of a film that came out at a simple time but it was so far ahead of its time. It stars Robert Redford, of course it was ahead of its time.
