All campgrounds are not created equal. The best RV campgrounds starts with great owners. As Dan & I make our Spring and Summer camping plans we can't help but marvel at the uniqueness of each campground we've encountered. We are often asked, "What are your favorite campgrounds?" the answer...we love different campgrounds for different reasons. On today's episode we had a lively conversation with Ali Rasmussen, owner of Spacious Skies Campgrounds, with 15 locations. She is one of our favorite campground owners and answers questions such as...How do I find a campground that fits my needs? What should I look for in a campground? When should I make reservations and can I get last minute reservations? What about inclusivity within these campgrounds? Why do Dan & I call Spacious Skies Campgrounds one of our favorites?Want more information go to Spacious Skies Campgrounds. Our special announcement…Dan & I were named Newmar's Brand Ambassador Many reason we chose Newmar... their commitment to their customers.Inspiring Video RVTV RVer's Got Talent coming soon Follow, Leave Comments, or Message Us On Social Media:RVLIFEPodcastFBRVLIFEPodcastInstagram YouTubeSpecial Discounts Codes: Click Link & Use Code • RV Trip Wizard Code: RVLIFEPodcast for 25% off •Thousand Trail Membership How we afford to camp Call/Text Membership Specialist Jo Parizo 631-921-1674 Dan & Patti sent you for extra perks•CLEAR2O 15% off until 2/29/24 Code: RVLIFEPODCAST• Harvest Hosts • Boondockers Welcome Code: HUNT20 for 20% off • Kracken Adventure Bikes 20% Discount on all E-Bikes use Code: Hunt20• Open Road Resorts 4 Amazing Campgrounds Mention RV LIFE Podcast to receive 10% off.• AirSkirts Receive $100 off any kit purchase. The woman who changed Batman forever -- Catwoman. In the late 1960’s, Julie Newmar captured the world’s attention as the series’ first femme fatale. Her credits on stage, television and film are too numerous to list, but they span multiple decades—most recently, she revised her iconic role as Catwoman in the animated feature “Batman Vs. Two-Face” in 2017. This was 50 years after the role premiered. There’s even more to Newmar than being the “It” girl of the 20th century and beyond. In this episode of Watching America, Dr. Alan Campbell speaks with her about growing up in Hollywood, her now not-so-secret gardens, the role that the idea of beauty has played in her life, and more.

This week we’re looking at the 1995 comedy To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar! Which Oscar-winner turned down Vida because he didn’t want to play another role with extensive make-up? Who was second choice for the title character if Newmar didn’t give them the rights to her name? And which potential Vida did screenwriter Douglas Carter Beane think looked like the Joker’s sister in drag? Also – we give our picks for which contestants from Rupaul’s Drag Race we’d love to have seen star, and Stephen Baldwin tries to draft Amy Jo into his religion, which may or may not revolve around the movie Bio-Dome. To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar stars Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze, John Leguizamo, Stockard Channing, Blythe Danner, Arliss Howard, Jason London, Chris Penn, Beth Grant, Alice Drummond, and RuPaul; directed by Beeban Kidron.
This Podcast talks about changes within the RV industry and where it may go. We also talk about the Good Sam Club changes.
A month of highs & lows. We attended the Newmar Rally in Syracuse NY along with 450 other Newmar motorhomes. This 8 day event provided us with a chance to see the latest product and get some repairs-updates done to our coach. Newmar brought 55 techs to the event to provide service and repairs for coach owners. We took advantage of this service. Also this month we spent a week using our Harvest Host membership at a variety of different types of HH boondocking experiences. Overall it was a great experience and we’ll continue to use them when available. The month ended in Niagara Falls for a couple of days at this iconic tourist attraction. The final leg of the trip - back to Chicago - turnout to be an adventure of the negative sort. Our almost new alternator (new in January) failed again in Ohio causing a 2 day delay, purchasing 2 new batteries and plenty of waisted time. We share it all and explain it all, and answer questions in this episode.
One of the most common questions we get from people planning to go full time or planning log RV trips away from their sticks and bricks home is what do we do about our mail while we are on the road. This week in the interview of the week, we talk to Amber Hobert, the President of Dakota Post, one of the largest of the various mail forwarding companies that service RVers. We also talk about when it makes sense for RVers to declare residency in South Dakota and also registering their vehicle in South Dakota. It’s an interesting conversation coming up in the Interview of the Week Segment. But also this week, your RV Lifestyle questions and comment, RV News, tips and a great ff the beaten path report from the Burketts. But first, my lifelong traveling companion and my bride, Jennifer. JENNIFER Thousands of migrating monarch butterflies appear at Canada's Point Pelee National Park and other spots in the midwest If you are planning to be in the midwest this week or next, keep an eye out for migrating monarch butterflies. About 4,000 monarchs were counted at Canada's Point Pelee National Park in the southern tip of Ontario last week. They are also being reported in large numbers in Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan and elsewhere in the midwest. The butterflies fly 2,500 miles from Canada to Mexico each fall, and viewing them in the thousands in one spot is something everyone needs to see one day. Here is a link to the Monarch Migration trail where you check if they are appearing in large numbers at a location near you. Every RV needs to be repaired from time to time. Newmar has opened a very modern service center with campground for its owners. How you'll get your RV fixed might be a factor when you come to buy an RV either new or old. Newmar pride itself on fixing any RV that it has manufactured regardless of age. Not every manufacturer will stand behind its entire line of products this way. We were in the service center campground to have our captains chair ((driver and passenger) recovered with new fabric. Not something we anticipated deteriorating, but we are able to get it fixed. Although we have not done any camping this month, we still have lots of RV topics to share- many of them the result of emails or facebook comments. Four season RVing, taking care of older RVers, and many other topics are covered in this episode. Be sure to visit our episode website for lots more info.

At last, Batman '66 faces Two-Face! Adam West's final turn as Batman pits him against his classic-TV contemporary, William Shatner, in the animated release Batman vs. Two-Face! Producer James Tucker has said that last year's Return of the Caped Crusaders imitated the feel of seasons 2 and 3 of the original TV show, while this one has a season-one tone... but Tim and Paul beg to differ. The film again prompts us to wonder: would Two-Face have worked as a '66 villain? Why did they choose this particular villain for the second movie? Meanwhile, in the Bat-Research Lab, a breakthrough in the search for answers on the Legends of the Superheroes cowl! And your mail inspires more conversation about whether Batman '66 was a sitcom, and just what qualifies to be called that. Adam West confesses: "I have some gear!"
"Batman Vs. Two-Face" Released October 10, 2017 How is it possible to top the success of last year's The Return of the Caped Crusaders? You add William Shatner to the mix! Shatner takes on the role of Harvey Dent/Two-Face in this new feature length film and just as with the previous film, the producers bring us an interesting take on the classic villain. In this episode, we discuss Adam West's final performance, just how couched in the first season this film is, and our thoughts on the possibility of the series continuing without its lead actor. To honor the passing of the late Adam West we bring you a very special cross episode of Classics and Flashbacks. While many people now identify with the dark and serious incarnations of the Dark Knight, the first one to grace our screens was Adam's. And while the campy fun of the series seems out of place nowadays, it was an indelible step forward for superheroes in mass media. And the 1966 movie was a truly remarkable representation of the TV Show. Classics and Flashback hosts Brandon Davis and Scott McFarland bring you this very special episode of the podcast. "The Return of the Caped Crusaders" Released November 1, 2016 It's the movie 50 years in the making (well, in the waiting). Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar return to the Batman 66 universe in an all-new animated movie. Joker, Penguin, Riddler, and Catwoman have reunited to take control of Gotham City and the world once again with the theft of a duplicator ray. But it wouldn't be Batman 66 if there wasn't more to the plot and there certainly is as Batman becomes more aggressive in his pursuit of the villainous quartet. What is happening and will good triumph over evil in the end? Holy timeslip! West, Ward, and Newmar are back in their 1966 roles in Rick Morales’ Return of the Caped Crusaders! In this episode, we dig in (in other words, SPOILERS) on the new movie. Does Catwoman’s “batnip” really make Batman “evil”? Or change him in some other way? How did we process hearing the voices of the three surviving principles 50 years later? Did the animation style fit the feel of the film? Also, scenes that serve multiple purposes in Michael Jelenic and James Tucker’s well-written script, searching for “easter eggs”, and more. PLUS: our greatest haul of Bat-mail yet, as you fill us in on "Red Ameche", why Catwoman was at Mr. Oceanbring's salon, clues to the location of Penguin's electrified pool, and more! (RIGHT CLICK THE IMAGE TO SAVE THIS EPISODE TO YOUR COMPUTER) Aired February 22/23, 1967 Julie Newmar makes her final bow as the Catwoman in an episode many fans remember fondly. Catwoman decides to follow the straight and narrow as she enters college. But the theft of a statue of Batman from the college and a found beanie cap are all the clues Batman needs to figure out Catwoman is up to something. Joining John to discuss this episode and Julie Newmar's legacy as the Catwoman is View from the Longbox's Michael Bailey. Comment on the episode here or write thebatcavepodcast@gmail.com Michael Bailey has an illness. While most people would call his comic book collecting a hobby he knows what it really is - a hopeless addiction. Luckily he has harnessed this personality defect into a weekly Internet radio show. Mike is a DC guy but likes Marvel just fine. He prefers the super-hero genre but frankly as long as it is a solid read he'll try just about any sort of comic. Mike is a Pieces, (his birthday is February 29th as a matter of fact) enjoys cold weather and enjoys a variety of hobbies that rarely involve the outdoors. Currently Mike lives in the Fortress of Baileytude, which is carved into the side of a mountain above scenic Fayetteville, GA. Somehow he has lucked into having a beautiful wife named Rachel, who is very much an enabler and, for some reason, puts up with his dumb ass. Together they own a small poodle named Boo, the cutest six pounds of evil you will ever see. His day job is acting like a department manager for a big box office supply store.

Catwoman's scheme is to get Batman and Robin under her control with a new drug she's designed. With their help, she's hoping to rob the Gotham Mint. How does this episode fair compared to other Catwoman episodes? What did John and his guest think of the inclusion of not one, but two performances by Lesley Gore? Just how ironic was it that Robin was hitting on Pussycat? Joining John to discuss this episode is Dan Greenfield, creator and author of the 13th Dimension website.
