The Ohio State Buckeyes are back on the winning side of things as they beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 41-20. Jordan Williams and Christopher Renne provide an instant recap show to break down the reasons why Ohio State won and should be optimistic moving forward. They get into a discussion on what the new defense looked like and how the young guys showed up and won the game for Ohio State. The game wasn't always pretty, but the guys are confident that the foundation for improvement was laid and they give you their reasons why. The offensive side of the ball didn't look great, but Treyveon Henderson was the player of the game. Chris has some stern words for Stroud and the visible regression since week on and Jordan adds to that. Lastly, they give their final thoughts going into next week and what the Buckeyes need to do moving forward. The next game for Ohio State will be September 25th against the Akron Zips. On today's episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined as always by Jordan Williams. We get into a discussion about Ohio State's current staff issues and what we expect to see moving forward from the Buckeyes. Ryan Day did not mince words in his presser and we discuss what the expectations need to be moving forward, possible changes in scheme, and what the coaches need to do better. When it comes to staff reshuffling as we pepper it throughout the show, we get into how the roles will move and why there are so many on field coaches. Moving forward, we get into a discussion about what Ohio State needs to do against Tulsa to get back on the right track and it all starts with effort on both sides of the ball. Finding an identity will be a major key for both sides of the ball, and we will get to see how this team responds to adversity for the first time under Ryan Day. Then we talk about Tulsa and what type of challenges they will bring to Ohio State that Ohio State can really find noticeable improvements against. Jordan tells us what he needs to see to gain his trust back in the Buckeyes and I tell you guys what we need to see. Lastly, we make our score predictions and we discuss a lot for you guys to listen to leading up to this 3:30 PM barn burner. On Land-Grant Holy Land In Conversation, we talk to people in and around Ohio State athletics, and the sporting world at large, to bring you a different insight and perspective to the teams, athletes, and university that you love. On today's episode, I am in conversation with sixth-year flugelhorn player in the Ohio State Marching Band, Parker Stephens. After a year away from football games and the pomp and circumstance of Ohio Stadium, The Best Damn Band in the Land finally returned to the field last Saturday; and while the results on the field left much to be desired, the thrills and emotions of the band's return were unmatched. Like the athletes, Stephens was granted a sixth year of eligibility following the COVID-impacted 2020 season. Having recently graduated, Stephens took the band up on the offer and came back from one more year. As a former squad leader of C Row, Stephens knows and loves the marching band as well as anyone and explains what made Saturday so special for him, and what makes the band so special to Ohio State. Ohio State fell 35-28 to the Ducks on Saturday afternoon, and shortly thereafter Gene and Josh got together to fire off some #takes. The sentiment is the same across all of Buckeye Nation — the defense simply wasn't good enough, and the coaching staff on that side of the ball is largely to blame. Some are down on CJ Stroud, but the Holy Land boys aren't ready to give up on him just yet. The offense struggled in the second quarter, but the unit looked strong the rest of the game, and for his struggles on seemingly easy passes, C.J. Stroud put up pretty impressive numbers in his starting debut, Chris Olave continued to show why he's the No. 1 wide receiver in the country, and Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson proved that they are legit home run hitters at running back. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan. If they can return to form on defense they have a chance to have a special season. When this episode drops we will be 5 days away from the start of the CFB season, Dante and Jordan preview the Nebraska vs. Illinois Week 0 game and detail what fans of each team want to see to feel good about their season. On today's episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I am joined by cohost Jordan Williams and we get into a fun conversation about the record books to start the show. There are some records that we believe will be broken very soon and more that we think will never be broken. Record talk leads to us discussing the ever changing game of college football. Then, we get into a conversation surrounding four teams Jordan and I expect to fail not live up to the expectations set by their fans. We also discuss Carmen's Crew and give a little preview for the game tonight. You can also catch us after on the Instant Recap Pod. Lastly, we get into Ohio State's outlook at RB in 2021 and the top RB's since 2005 with a list that shows this might be the best position (which was hard). On LGHL's Play Like a Girl podcast, Meredith Hein and Kelsey Trainor talk everything from Ohio State football to all the happenings in the sports world today. After being delayed for a very long year, the 2021 Tokyo Olympics are here at long last. That's why, on this week's edition of the pod, Meredith and Megan talked all things Olympics. ICYMI, the Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for this Friday, and Team USA just announced that hoops great Sue Bird and baseball player/speed skater (you read that right) Eddy Alvarez will be flag bearers. Great choices all-around (get it? Because of gymnastics?) The pair also discussed the USWNT's surprising loss to Sweden in their first Olympic game, snapping a 44-game unbeaten streak. On a more positive note, they got into Team USA softball, and the team of newcomers and veterans who are coming together to bring home a gold after the sport was absent for two-straight Olympic Games.  But because it's this podcast, Megan and Meredith also talked Buckeyes in the Olympics — including Adelaide Aquilla, the walk-on-turned-Olympian shot putter, and all-time wrestling great Kyle Snyder.  Contact Megan Husslein Twitter: @meganhusslein Contact Meredith Hein Twitter: @MeredithHein Learn more about your ad choices.
